It was the third rugged device from the smartphone maker No.1 within the past three months and is targeted at those users who are looking for a compact phone that can withstand any harsh environment. At that time, we didn&#8217;t have much details about the device, but now, the company has released the tech specs as well as pricing of the M2.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-44075" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2-1024x524.jpg?x44794" alt="No.1 M2 specs 2" width="800" height="409" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2-1024x524.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2-300x153.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2-821x420.jpg 821w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2-640x327.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2-681x348.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-2.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>The No.1 M2 features a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz. While we don&#8217;t know the processor make, it could be from Mediatek, most likely the MT6732 64-bit SoC. The phone come with 1GB RAM on board and 8GB of internal storage. Given that this is a rugged device, it features a 4.5-inch display with Corning&#8217;s Gorilla Glass protection. So, you don&#8217;t have to worry about scratches on your screen.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-44076" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-1024x427.jpg?x44794" alt="No.1 M2 specs" width="800" height="334" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-1024x427.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-300x125.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-1008x420.jpg 1008w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-640x267.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs-681x284.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/No.1-M2-specs.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Apart from being scratch proof, the No.1 M2 also boasts of being water proof and shock proof. In fact, to showcase the resistant capacity of the device, the company has released two new videos. The first YouTube video shows the M2 being dropped inside water without any visible damage. The second shows the phone being dropped from the top of the stairs, once again without any damage. The IP68 certification also gives us an idea about the ruggedness of the phone.</p>
<p>No.1 M2 Waterproof Test:</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="NO.1 M2 Android 5.0 3-Proof Smartphone Waterproof Test" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wOfPgfGdLYQ?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>No.1 M2 Shockproof Test:</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="NO.1 M2 Android 5.0 3-Proof Smartphone Shockproof Test" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5FrOFkBiyh8?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>As for the camera, the phone sports a 13MP sensor at the back with LED flash and enhanced face detection and exposure controls. At the front, you get a 5MP camera. One of the highlights of the device is the new Android 5.0 Lollipop version that comes pre-installed on the device out of the box. There are hardly any rugged phones out there that run the new Lollipop OS, so this is definitely its selling point. Further, the bold looks and the 14.1mm thin body makes the device all the more appealing.</p>
<p>Coming to the best part of the device, the company will make the No.1 M2 available for sale by April this year for less than $100! The phone will be available for purchase via AliExpress with DHL shipping available in most countries.</p>

<p>No.1 has been recently focusing a lot on rugged smartphones. We have already seen two great rugged phones from the company, namely the <a title="No.1 X-Men X1 rugged smartphone is 7-Proof!" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/12/22/no-1-x-men-x1-rugged-smartphone-7-proof/">No.1 X1</a> and the No.1 X2 5.5-inch phone. Now, No.1 has unveiled yet another smartphone rugged phone, called as the <strong>No.1 M2.</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43193" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647.jpg?x44794" alt="DSC_8647" width="750" height="501" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647-629x420.jpg 629w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647-537x360.jpg 537w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647-640x428.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8647-681x455.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></a></p>
<p>The phone is particularly targeted at those users who would like a small screen instead of a large one like the X2. The device features a 4.5-inch display, which makes it a very compact device. Unfortunately, we don&#8217;t know the resolution of the display, but we can expect it to be 720p or at least qHD.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43194" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648.jpg?x44794" alt="DSC_8648" width="750" height="501" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648-629x420.jpg 629w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648-537x360.jpg 537w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648-640x428.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8648-681x455.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></a></p>
<p>The highlight of the device is its dustproof, water proof and scratch proof feature which allows you to take the device for any adventure trips (IP68 certified). Moreover, you get the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS version right out of the box, which means you can enjoy all the great visual as well as performance features of this new Android version. This also makes it one of the few rugged phones in the market, to run on Google&#8217;s latest platform.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43195" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652.jpg?x44794" alt="DSC_8652" width="750" height="501" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652-629x420.jpg 629w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652-537x360.jpg 537w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652-640x428.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DSC_8652-681x455.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></a></p>
<p>We still don&#8217;t know many of the specs of the device like the processor, camera, battery etc, but the company says that it aims to make the device cost effective. So, anyone who&#8217;s looking for an affordable rugged phone, should take a look at this new device from No.1.</p>
<p>Anyways, we&#8217;ll keep you guys updated if there&#8217;s more news about the new No.1 M2. So, stay tuned.</p>
