Keeping its promise, HMD Global has now started selling the Nokia 3.1 smartphone in the United States. The smartphone, which is priced at $159.99, is now available for purchase in Black color through Best Buy. The smartphone was first announced last month at the Nokia Moscow event.

Apart from Best Buy, Amazon was also amongst the list of the official sales partner for the Nokia 3 and the e-commerce website has also listed the smartphone in the United States but the phone is still tagged as “currently unavailable” on Amazon. B&H has also listed the smartphone on its platform but it is still taking pre-orders.

The smartphone comes with a bigger 5.2-inch display that is a tad taller than its predecessor thanks to its reduced bezel and 18:9 display screen ratio. It has a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and is covered by a Gorilla Glass on top for protection from minor scratches.

Under the hood, there’s a MediaTek MT6750N processor clocked at 1.2GHz that is powering the device. The phone comes in two variants in terms of memory — 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB onboard storage. Currently, it seems that only 2GB RAM + 16GB storage model is available in the United States.

Coming to the camera department, the smartphone features a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera and an 8MP f/2.0 front-facing camera with an 84.6-degree field of view. For connectivity, the device comes with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Unlike the first-generation Nokia 3, the new Nokia 3.1 smartphone falls under Google‘s Android One program, which offers pure Android experience and faster updates for the operating system. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and is powered by a 2,990mAh battery.
