It is kinda obvious that the 5.4 is a superior phone to the Nokia 3.4, you just need to read their names to understand it. But which are the differences between these two budget phones and which one is better for your actual need? These are harder things to understand, and that is why we decided to make a comparison between the two handsets.
Design

The Nokia 3.4 and the Nokia 5.4 have the same design: a punch-hole display, narrow bezels around the screen, a circular camera module, and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. They even come with the same dimensions and the same weight. There are just two differences: the camera elements and the color variants. The Nokia 5.4 has a LED flash placed outside of the camera module, while on the Nokia 3.4, it is inside the camera module. This makes the design of the Nokia 3.4 slightly more attractive, but the Polar Night color variants of the Nokia 5.4 is more beautiful, at least for me.

Display

With the Nokia 3.4 and the Nokia 5.4, you get exactly the same display panel: it is a 6.39-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels, a 400 nit typical brightness, and a 269 ppi pixel density. It is a below-average display in terms of image quality since you get a low level of detail and a not-so-exciting panel in terms of contrast and brightness. But it is still a sufficient display for most of the users out there.

Specs & Software

One of the biggest advantages of the Nokia 5.4 over the Nokia 3.4 is the hardware setup. First of all, it has a stronger Snapdragon 662 chipset. It remains a low-end SoC, but it is more powerful than the Snapdragon 460 found on the Nokia 3.4. Further, the Nokia 5.4 offers up to 128 GB of internal storage, while you can get just 64 GB of native storage on the Nokia 3.4. Both the phones run Android 10 out of the box, close to the stock version, which will get a lot of updates in the long-term thanks to the famous HMD Global software support.

Camera

Besides the hardware department, the most important advantage of getting a Nokia 5.4 is the camera, and we are specifically talking about the main camera found on the rear side. While the Nokia 3.4 has a disappointing 13 MP sensor, the Nokia 5.4 comes with a pretty nice 48 MP main camera boasting a bright f/1.8 focal aperture. You can shoot photos with a higher level of detail and better performance in low light conditions. Even the selfie camera is better on the Nokia 5.4: you get a pretty good 16 MP front snapper.

Battery

The Nokia 3.4 and the Nokia 5.4 pack the same battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh. Given that the display is the same as well, and the chipsets are built at 11 nm, the phones should offer a very similar battery life. So you should choose the best device for you after checking the other specs: do not mind about the battery. In each case, you get a great battery phone with a battery lasting all day long even with intensive usage.

Price

The price of the Nokia 3.4 for the global market is €159/$193 (the European price, to be accurate), while the Nokia 5.4 is sold at €199/$241 in Europe. Should you spend those €40 more in order to get a better device? It depends on your actual needs: if you need better camera performance (for both normal photos and selfies), then go for the Nokia 5.4. Given the small gap between the processors of these two devices, we would not suggest spending €40 more just for the performance. Your final decision should be mainly based on the cameras.

Design

If you want the most modern and original design, then Nokia 3.4 might be a better choice for you. While the Realme C15 comes with a waterdrop notch, the Nokia 3.4 has a punch-hole design making it more futuristic. Further, the design of the back cover is more original with that circular camera module, even though not everyone may like it. Further, the Nokia 3.4 is a more compact phone, it is even thinner and lighter than the Realme C15. Both the handsets feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a plastic unibody design.

Display

The displays of the Nokia 3.4 and Realme C15 are pretty disappointing for those who need great image quality, but you can hardly get better panels with entry-level phones. These handsets feature classic IPS panels with HD+ resolutions. The Nokia 3.4 has a smaller display with a 6.39-inch diagonal, while Realme C15 is bigger with its 6.5-inch display. If you are a power user, the Realme C15 is more comfortable for you, while if you are an average user, you might like the Nokia 3.4 more due to its compact size making it more usable with one hand and better to keep in a pocket.

Specs & Software

The Nokia 3.4 is fueled by the Snapdragon 460 mobile platform, while the Nokia 3.4 has a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. The Snapdragon 460 is actually more powerful than the Helio G35 and, with both the phones featuring up to 4 GB of RAM, the Nokia 3.4 wins the performance comparison. On the other hand, with the Realme C15, you can get more internal storage: up to 128 GB. The Nokia 3.4 has a user interface close to stock Android which will get supported in the long term just like all the other smartphones released by HMD Global.

Camera

The Realme C15 houses a more complete camera department than Nokia 3.4. But there is only one important difference between these two phones’ cameras. We are talking about the 8 MP ultrawide lens with a viewing angle of 119 degrees you can find onboard the Realme C15: you do not get it with the Nokia 3.4. For the rest, they are almost the same: the rear cameras include a 13 MP main sensor and a pair of sensors with 2 MP resolutions for macros and depth. As the selfie camera, you get an 8 MP front snapper.

Battery

A key difference between the Realme C15 and Nokia 3.4 is the battery. The former packs a huge 6000 mAh battery which can last more than three days with moderate usage. Nokia 3.4 is still a good battery phone with its 4000 mAh battery, but it can not compete with the Realme C15 which is actually one of the best battery phones out there. Further, the Realme C15 has 18W fast charging, while Nokia 3.4 does not support fast charging.

Price

Realme C15 is available with street prices up to Rs. 8,999 / $124 in India, while Nokia 3.4 costs Rs. 11,999 / $165 in the 4/64 GB configuration. If we exclude the hardware, the software, and the compact dimensions of the Nokia 3.4, the Realme C15 is actually a superior device with its wider display, better camera department, and huge battery with fast charging support.

Nevertheless, we have got a lot of devices from Huawei, OPPO, Redmi, Vivo, realme, Nokia, and more. Although we are still early into the month of February, few brands have already launched their devices so be sure to read till the end to know about them.

HUAWEI Mate X2

This is probably the most important launch of the month, if you ask me. Huawei has stood the test of the toughest times in the last two years. The company is still the hero of the home country China.

Anyway, the third-gen Foldable device(after Mate X, Mate Xs), the HUAWEI Mate X2 will launch on February 22 in China. Expected specs include an inward folding 8.01 inches main display, likely a 6.45-inch Cover display, Kirin 9000 5G chipset, quad-cameras with 50MP sensor, 16MP dual-front punch-hole cameras, 4,400mAh battery with 66W rapid charging, and more.

Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Lite, Mi 11 Pro

Xiaomi unveiled the world’s first Snapdragon 888 chipset phone(Xiaomi Mi 11) in China back in December. This device is confirmed to debut Globally on February 8.
Redmi K40 and K40 Pro, Note 10 and Note 10 Pro

The freshly teased Nokia 3.4 smartphone, on its part, was introduced in September 2020. The launch is coming three months after the Nokia 2.4 came on board in November 2020 in India.

The tweet clearly suggests the brand’s latest budget smartphones will be officially announced in the country on November 26.

Also, this goes in line with the report from last week.
Design

Despite it is not the most expensive and advanced device of this comparison, the Nokia 3.4 is definitely the most attractive one when it comes to the design. Indeed, it is the only one with a punch-hole display instead of a waterdrop notch. Its rear side is very similar to the Nokia 5.3, with a circular camera module and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Nokia 2.4 is different from its more expensive siblings, but it is still a beautiful device compared to other entry-level phones. With these handsets, you do not get premium materials: they all come with polycarbonate bodies, but the display of the Nokia 5.3 is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Display

Nokia 2.4, Nokia 3.4, and Nokia 5.3 are equipped with below-average, displays, but they can still be considered sufficient panels. They come with HD+ resolution, so not a very high level of detail. With the Nokia 3.4, you get a higher pixel density, but at the same time, you get a smaller display. The best panel belongs to the Nokia 5.3 which provides a higher brightness. It even comes with a wider panel than its siblings. In each case, you get an IPS panel which is not disappointing.

Specs & Software

The best components belong to the Nokia 5.3 which has a lower-midrange hardware department. It includes a Snapdragon 665 chipset paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage which you can furtherly expand with a micro SD slot. Right after, we got the Nokia 3.4 with a still pretty nice Snapdragon 460 chipset which behaves pretty well in every scenario (but do not expect a lot if you are not a basic user). Unless you are a basic user, you should not go for the Nokia 2.4 as its Helio P22 is not a very powerful chipset. Nokia 2.4, 3.4, and 5.3 are all devices that will get 2 years of software support, despite they are budget phones. This is actually the strongest point of Nokia.

Camera

Nokia 5.3 wins the camera comparison, but it is not so different from the Nokia 3.4. It only adds an additional 2 MP macro camera on the rear side, but for the rest, it has the same camera setup including a 13 MP main sensor, a 5 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. Even the front camera is identical: a sufficient 8 MP snapper. Nokia 2.4 is totally different with its 8 MP main sensor paired with a 2 MP depth sensor, as well as an inferior 5 MP front camera.

Battery

Nokia 2.4 is inferior to the Nokia 3.4 and 5.3 under all the aspects except battery life. With its bigger 4500 mAh battery, it is able to last more on a single charge. With Nokia 3.4 and 5.3 you will get more or less the same battery life (4000 mAh battery), but the Nokia 3.4 should last a bit more due to its smaller display.

Price

Nokia 2.4 is priced €120/$140 in its base variant, for the Nokia 3.4 you need €160/$185, and Nokia 5.3 costs €219/$255. The Nokia 5.3 is the winner of the comparison, but if you want to save some money, you won’t face a lot of compromises with the Nokia 3.4. It has lower performance than the Nokia 5.3, but it is still fast and reliable, and the rest of the specs sheet is very similar. We do not recommend the Nokia 2.4 due to its definitely weaker chipset and inferior camera department, but it has longer battery life.

Nokia 2.4

The Nokia 2.4 continues the large-screen trend adopted by the Nokia 2.3. The screen is bigger now at 6.5-inches with an HD+ resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It keeps the waterdrop notch which houses a 5MP selfie camera.

The back of the phone has a 3D nano-textured design and is home to two cameras – a 13MP f/2.2 main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Sitting below the cameras is a fingerprint scanner. HMD Global says the phone has AI imaging, night mode, and a portrait mode with support for post-capture editing.

There is an Helio P22 processor under the hood paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. HMD Global says the 4500mAh inside the phone should provide a 2-day battery life. Sadly, there is no fast charging and it also comes with a MicroUSB port.

Other features of the phone include NFC, a dedicated Google Assistant button, FM radio, and Android 10. HMD Global says the phone is Android 11 ready and it will get OS upgrades for two years and security patches for three years.

The Nokia 2.4 comes in three colorways – Charcoal, Dusk, and Fjord – and is priced at €119 in Europe and $139 in the US. It will be available for purchase this month.

Nokia 3.4

The Nokia 3.4 is the first in the series to have a punch-hole display. The screen is a 6.39-inch HD+ panel with an 8MP camera in the top left corner.

There is a Snapdragon 460 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage that can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot. The phone has three rear cameras arranged in a cookie-shaped housing. The setup includes a 13MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a fingerprint scanner under the cameras just like on the Nokia 2.4 and it also has a dedicated Google Assistant button.

The Nokia 3.4 has a 4000mAh battery capacity and should also last up to 2 days according to the manufacturer. Thankfully, it charges via a USB-C port. It also has an audio jack, an FM radio, and NFC.

The phone is priced at €159/$179 and will be available in Charcoal, Fjord, and Dusk in October.

One of such goodies is the Nokia 3.4 and while there is no information yet on the launch date, the renders, specs and pricing details of the phone have appeared online.

The leaked render only shows the back panel with a round camera module. The module houses a triple camera setup and an LED flash. The latest leak shows the camera setup includes a 13-megapixel main shooter and unspecified 5-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors which are likely a macro camera and depth sensor respectively. There is also an obvious fingerprint sensor at the back.

The leak also tips the device to pack a 6.5-inch display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720pixels. NokiaPowerUser says the phone will also have a punch-hole design which holds an 8-megapixel camera at the front.

The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 460 SoC, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 429 chip on its predecessor. Nokia 3.4 will ship with 32GB of internal storage as standard, although a 64GB variant is also on the way. Both of these models include 3GB of RAM and 4,000mAh batteries. The phone will also run stock Android 10 as part of the Android One program.
