The Nokia 6300 4G is a remake of the old Nokia 6300 classic phone with a stainless backplate. The new model looks nothing like the original with respect to design but it does pack specs that put the 2007 model to shame. Announced back in November, the new model has now made its way to the US.

If you want a phone to use as a backup to your smartphone, then you can pick up the Nokia 6300 4G for $69.99 on the Nokia Mobile website. The phone is available in Charcoal, Cyan Green, and White.

For that price, you get a phone with a 2.4-inch display that sits above an alphanumeric keypad, a Snapdragon 210 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of expandable storage (32GB max).

There is a VGA camera on the back with an LED flash that doubles as a flashlight but don’t expect this to take decent shots. The phone runs KaiOS and comes pre-installed with WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Assistant. The model sold in the US has dual-SIM support (nano only), 4G, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and GPS. It also has an FM radio and an audio jack.

There is a removable 1500mAh battery that charges via a MicroUSB port inside the phone and HMD Global says it will last up to 27 days on standby.

Last month, Nokia 6300 4G smartphone was announced, adding another device to the expanding portfolio of revived classic Nokia phones. As the name indicates, it is an upgraded version of the Nokia 6300 which was first launched in 2007.

Now, the feature phone with 4G connectivity support has been listed online for pre-sale in China for a price of 399 yuan which roughly converts to $61. It is likely to be available for purchase in the Chinese market from 30th December.

The Nokia 6300 4G features a 2.4-inch display, which is slightly bigger than the original model. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, along with 512MB of RAM.

As for the internal storage, the device comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage and also has a microSD card slot, allowing users to further expand the storage capacity up to 32GB.

In the software department, it is running KaiOS and comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube. There’s also a VGA camera on the back with an LED flash that doubles as a flashlight.

Along with 4G, the phone also supports GPS and Bluetooth. The device is powered by an 860mAh removable battery, which can be charged through the MicroUSB port. The company has promised 27 days of usage on a single charge.

The Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G launched last month as HMD Global’s latest feature phones. The former is a remake of an old classic while the latter is a new model of a series from the old Nokia days. Now both devices are about to launch in China.

HMD Global is yet to announce a launch date for the two phones but it should not be far off seeing as they have both been spotted on the database of China’s TENAA. The phones are listed on TENAA as the Nokia TA-1311 and Nokia TA-1287 and they both run KaiOS (version 2.5.4.1, the operating system Nokia ships with its feature phones.

The Nokia 6300 4G has a 2.4-inch display that is powered by a 1500mAh removable battery. It has a Snapdragon 210 processor under the polycarbonate body, 512MB RAM, and 4GB of storage that can be expanded via a microSD card slot. The phone also has a VGA camera and a rear flashlight that doubles as the LED for the camera. Other features include FM radio, GPS, Bluetooth, dual SIM support, and an audio jack. The global version has Google Assistant on-board but we don’t expect the Chinese version to have that.

The Nokia 8000 4G, on the other hand, has a 2.8-inch 240 x 320 screen but the same Snapdragon 210 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage. It has a 2MP rear camera and a flash. Its battery capacity is also 1500mAh and it is removable too. The TENAA listing says the phone will be available in China in Black, Blue, Gold, and White, the same colors the global version comes in.

HMD Global took the wraps off the Nokia 8000 4G and Nokia 6300 4G a fortnight ago. Both devices are feature phones but the Nokia 8000 4G comes with a cool design which still doesn’t remove the fact that it is a feature phone. Nokia didn’t disclose details on the availability but a Russian blog has now revealed that the new Nokia feature phones are currently up for pre-order in Russia. 

The Nokia 8000 4G carries a price tag of RUB 7,500 (€83.2) in Russia while the Nokia 6300 4G comes in at RUB 5,000 (€55.5).  The two models run on KaiOS which brings several functionalities that you wouldn’t find in other non-KaiOS-powered phones like WhatsApp, Google’s Maps and Assistant. They also come with 4G connection with a Wi-Fi hotspot option.

The Nokia 8000 4G packs a 2.8-inch LCD screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 210 processor paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of expandable storage. The phone packs a 2MP camera at the back with a camera flash that doubles as a flashlight. Under the hood, there is a removable 1500mAh battery which is touted to last up to 28 days on standby and provide more than 3 hours of 4G talk time.

On the other hand, the Nokia 6300 4G sports a 2.4-inch screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 210 processor along with 512MB of RAM. The phone also boasts 4GB of built-in storage. There is also support for storage expansion (up to 32GB) via a MicroSD card slot. It also packs a 1,5000mAH battery which HMD Global says can last up to 27 days in standby.

For photos, there is a VGA camera on the back with a flashlight that doubles as the camera flash. There is GPS, Bluetooth, dual nano-SIM support (select markets), FM radio, and an audio jack (via).

The Nokia 6300 4G is the latest classic Nokia phone that has gotten a remake. The original which was announced in 2007 was known for its stainless plates, which, unfortunately, has not been brought back.

The Nokia 6300 4G looks nothing like the original and save for the power button at the top, the design does not evoke a feeling of nostalgia. However, the new model does pack significant upgrades on the inside.

Running KaiOS and powered by a Snapdragon 210 processor along with 512MB of RAM, the Nokia 6300 4G also boasts 4GB of built-in storage, a big boost over the 7.8MB internal storage of the 2007 model. There is also support for storage expansion (up to 32GB) via a MicroSD card slot.

The display is bigger at 2.4-inches and so is the removable battery which has nearly doubled from 860mAh to 1500mAh and charges via a MicroUSB port. HMD Global says the battery will last up to 27 days in standby.

Another big upgrade is the addition of 4G support and a Wi-Fi hotspot. There is a VGA camera on the back with a flashlight that doubles as the camera flash. There is GPS, Bluetooth, dual nano-SIM support (select markets), FM radio, and an audio jack.

The Nokia 6300 4G also comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps including Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube. It also has Google Assistant for setting reminders and getting answers to questions.

The phone comes in Light Charcoal, White, and Cyan Green. It will sell for €49 (~$58) in Europe but there is no news on availability at the moment. We will update the post once we have more details.

Nokia had once been the leading mobile phone maker in the world. Its popularity was carried by its strong feature phone portfolio that is still being sold to this date. Now, a new report suggests that the classic Nokia 6300 will launch soon in a new refreshed 2020 variant with 4G support.

Previously, a report from WinFuture had stated that China’s HMD Global is planning on launching two new mobile phones soon, namely the Nokia 6300 and 8000. Both smartphones are basic feature phones that are a refresh of the iconic handsets from almost 15 years ago. The Nokia 6300 was first launched in 2006 and featured a candy bar design, which had it meet with high demand. Its dual tone design with stainless housing made it feel premium, while its two LED lights on the sides made it seem unique as well.

The device ran on Symbian S40 OS and featured a 2 inch display with a 2 megapixel camera on the rear. For memory, it sported 7.8MB of RAM and 2 GB of internal storage. Although the report did suggest an upcoming launch, there were no images of the new refresh available. But now, a LetsGoDigital report had found that a 3D concept render design by Concept Creator has offered us a first look at what the Nokia 6300 4G might look like.

A notable inclusion in the new device is the networking upgrade from 2G from over a decade ago to 4G LTE support. In other words, the 2020 variant will be able to take advantage of the newer and faster bandwidth. We can expect the 6300 4G to arrive soon, with an announcement likely to arrive sometime within the next few weeks. The key specifications of the Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G have been revealed alongside their color variants and other details as well. Both devices are feature phones that will be powered by KaiOS.

Nokia 6300 4G

The Nokia 6300 4G is based on the classic 6300 mobile phone. It will arrive in a single and dual SIM card variant (TA-1294) and will run KaiOS out of the box. The device will be powered by a 1,500mAh battery pack and sports a 2.4 inch display. Under the hood, a single core processor runs the 6300 4G along with 512MB of internal storage and 4MB of RAM, with support for up to 32GB of expandable storage via a microSD card.

According to a NokiaPowerUser report, the new Nokia 6300 4G weighs just 104.7 grams with 53 x 131.4 x 13.7mm dimensions. It will be available in multiple color options, including Charcoal, Cyan, and White. For connectivity, the feature phone will offer LTE, GSM/WCDMA, BT v4.0, GPS, GLONASS, and a Micro-USB port.

Nokia 8000 4G

The Nokia 8000 4G isn’t a modern version of any classic device but is likely a successor to the 8800 of the past since it also sports a 2.8 inch display. It will also arrive with a Dual SIM variant (TA-1303) with KaiOS and an identical battery capacity as well. Similar to the 6300 4G, the memory configurations with 512MB storage and 4MG RAM with 32GB expandable storage remains the same.

The 8000 4G will also offer LTE, GSM/WCDMA, BT v4.0, GPS, GLONASS, and Micro-USB connectivity options as well. It weighs slightly heavier at 110 grams with 56.5 x 132.2 x 12.3 mm dimensions. The upcoming feature phone will launch in multiple color options like Black, Gold, Blue, and White. Both new devices are a part of the company’s efforts to bring refreshed 4G variants of classic devices. But this is all we have to go on, for now, so stay tuned for more updates.

Ever since HMD Global got the license to manufacture and sell phones under the Nokia brand, the Finnish company has made it a tradition to revive classic models by relaunching them with modern features such as 4G and support for certain “smart features”.

The first of the relaunched classics is the Nokia 3310 which comes in 2G, 3G, and 4G versions. It also relaunched the Nokia 8810 “Banana Phone” in 2018, the Nokia 2720 last year, and the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic early this year. New info has now revealed that more classic phones are coming soon.

According to the German tech blog, Winfuture, HMD Global’s next classic phones to revive are the Nokia 6300 and Nokia 8000. That info has been backed up by details found on the site of a Danish carrier called Telia whose list of devices with support for Wi-Fi calling include the yet-to-be-announced Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G.

The Nokia 6300 which was originally launched in 2007, was a Series 40 phone with steel plates that ensured it could take a beating. It also had a color screen, MicroSD card slot, and a 2MP camera.

The Nokia 8000, on the other hand, is expected to be a new model in Nokia’s premium 8*** series from the 90s which includes the Nokia 8800 Sirocco which had a sapphire-coated glass covering the display, a slide-out cover for the keypad, and a 2MP camera. The slider design was a common feature of the series, so there is a high chance that the Nokia 8000 4G will also have it.

We expect these two new phones will be launched before the end of the year and most likely in Europe before other regions. They should arrive alongside its anticipated Nokia 6.3 and Nokia 7.3 smartphones.
