The Finnish firm is reportedly working on a flagship phone. It is expected to replace 2019’s Nokia 9 PureView. Previous reports have claimed that it could be launching as Nokia 9.2 PureView, but newer leaks have revealed that it could be named as Nokia 9.3 PureView. A fresh report on Nokia Power User has claimed that Nokia’s SD865 flagship phone will be arriving in the latter half of the year.

In January, it was reported that the Nokia 9.3 could be debuting by the end of first half of the year. However, new information reveals that its arrival has been once again delayed. It is now expected to break cover in mid to late second half of 2020. The report states that it is due to the COVID-19 outbreak that the Nokia 9.3’s arrival has been pushed back. The report has no fresh details on the specs of the Nokia 9.3 PureView.

Nokia did hint earlier today that it has some surprises line out for its product launch event scheduled to hold in London on March 19. We are not too sure but the Nokia 9.2 PureView may be one of the surprises. Even if it isn’t, Nokia is expected to unveil a next-generation model of the Nokia 9 PureView that was launched last year packing a spectacular Penta-camera design.

Popular concept creator Ben Geskin has dished out a cool concept design said to be that of the Nokia 9.2 PureView, a successor to the Nokia 9 PureView. The design is basically a product of Geskin’s imagination and isn’t based on leaks or anything of that sort. However, the design draws inspiration from the Nokia 9 PureView.

The moniker falls in line with rumours that Nokia will skip calling the next model Nokia 9.1 PureView for some unknown reasons. Such rumors have been popping up online for quite some time now. The Nokia 9 PureView was announced back in February last year, but its successor still has not arrived.

Talking of the design, the concept envisions a device with a full-screen design with perfect symmetry. That means there will be no notch and there is no sign of a hole-punch either. The 9.2 PureView is envisioned to feature an under-display selfie shooter, something that is yet to find its way into any smartphone. A Xiaomi exec recently said that under-display cameras are not yet ready for primetime. On the bright side, Vivo utilised the under-display camera design on the APEX 2020 Concept phone that was unveiled last week. So, the display design may go commercial this year. We’ll see what happens.

All the physical keys are located on the right-hand side of this concept smartphone. The backside of the device reminds us of the Nokia 9 PureView but there are only four camera sensors housed in a round module. The camera module protrudes on the back, and below it, you’ll notice an LED flash. Nokia’s logo is also placed on the back and the panel also has curved edges.

The concept creator didn’t reveal any details of the specs but the Nokia 9.2 PureView should pack a Snapdragon 865 processor. The phone will also include a large RAM and ZEISS optics as well as Android 10 OS.

While the Snapdragon 845 is a really good chipset, fans expected the phone to arrive with Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. The company was rumored to launch Snapdragon 855 edition of the phone later in 2019, but a recent report claimed that the Finnish firm has shunned the plans to unveil it. Instead, it could be launching the Nokia 9.2 PureView handset with the latest Snapdragon 865 could be coming few months later. While the phone is expected to arrive with improved rear cameras, a fresh tweet from Nokia_anew suggests that it could be arriving with under display camera.

A new rumor has suggested that Nokia could soon launch a foldable smartphone later this year. The news was reported via a source that had previously leaked various Nokia smartphone launched, so there exists a possibility of the rumor being true.

According to the source, HMD Global, the parent company, is planning on releasing a foldable smartphone under the Finnish brand’s name in late 2020 or early 2021. In which case, we can expect to maybe see a glimpse of the foldable smartphone at the upcoming MWC 2020 (Mobile World Congress), considering the company is actually planning on releasing within the year.

Nokia’s smartphone with a bending display will directly compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series and the recently released Motorola Razr. It is possible that Nokia’s take on the unique form of smartphone could include features that set it apart from the competition like a Z-shaped dual fold format.

Rumors in mid-2019 had claimed that the Finnish firm will be debuting Nokia 9.1 PureView powered by Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. However, it did not come true. In October, it was reported that the arrival of the Nokia 9.1 PureView has been delayed to the second quarter of 2020. Fresh information shared by Nokia Anew, a Twitter account known for sharing new details on upcoming Nokia phones, has revealed that the successor smartphone for Nokia 9 PureView might be called Nokia 9.2. Its arrival has been further pushed to late 2020 as the company wants to launch it with the latest Snapdragon 865 mobile platform.
