After Nokia X30 5G and Nokia G60 5G, Nokia G10 smartphone is now officially compatible with the latest Android 13 update. The confirmation means that Nokia G10 owners can look forward to receiving the update in the near future. Nokia Mobile has already begun the Android 13 update rollout to four of the eight smartphones for which Android 13 compatibility has been confirmed: Nokia XR20 5G, Nokia G50 5G, Nokia X20 5G, and Nokia X10 5G.

Nokia G10’s Android 13 compatibility has been validated through the Google Android Enterprise Recommended program, which means it meets strict security standards to use in business environments. Check the screenshot of the Nokia G10 listing from Google’s AER directory.

The Nokia G10 joins the other Nokia devices originally listed in the AER directory, including Nokia XR20 5G, Nokia X10 5G, Nokia X20 5G, Nokia G50 5G, and Nokia G11 Plus, which have all been officially confirmed to receive the Android 13 update.

While Nokia G11 Plus is also confirmed to be Android 13 compatible, it has yet to receive the update. This leaves Nokia X30 5G, Nokia G60 5G, Nokia G11 Plus, and Nokia G10 eligible to receive the Android 13 update in the near future.

Nokia recently launched X30 5G in India which features a 6.43-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 695 processor with 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage. The X series is the highest-end one, the G series is the intermediate one and the C series is composed of entry-level phones. That is why it may be very confusing for a lot of people to realize which phone is the best to go for. In this comparison, we will talk about the G series. HMD Global came up with two devices from this lineup: Nokia G10 and Nokia G20. Here are the differences between them.

Nokia G10 and Nokia G20 have exactly the same design. They come with a borderless display including a waterdrop notch and a rear side with a circular camera module in the middle. They feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader and they are entirely made of polycarbonate. Further, despite they do not have any kind of IP certification, they are splash resistant. The only different thing is the color variants. The Nokia G10 is available in Dusk and Night color variants, while for the Nokia G20 you can choose between Glacier and Night.

Display

Just like the design, even the display of these two handsets is exactly the same. We are talking about a below-average IPS panel with a diagonal of 6.52 inches and an HD+ resolution with 720 x 1600 pixels. The display is decent in terms of image quality, but it is an entry-level display and it does not offer a high definition, nor a very accurate color reproduction. However, it is nice for daily use.

Specs & Software

Nokia G10 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 chipset paired with 3 or 4 GB of RAM depending on the chosen configuration and 32 GB of internal storage you can furtherly expand with a micro SD. The Nokia G20 has a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. If you use your phone just for surfing the web and messaging, then Nokia G10 should be enough for you. But if you want more speed and you want to use heavier apps, go for the Nokia G20. The software support is the main advantage of these two handsets: they will offer two years of major Android updates and three years of security updates. Given that they ship with Android 11, despite they are entry-level phones, Nokia G10 and Nokia G20 will be updated up to Android 13. The handsets ship with a stock Android version: as always, HMD Global decided not to go for a customized UI, but according to rumors, it is developing a custom UI to get rid of Android One.

Camera

The Nokia G10 has an entry-level camera: you should go for it only if you want sufficient shots for social networks and so. With the Nokia G20, you get a way better 48 MP main sensor paired with a 5 MP ultrawide camera and a pair of 2 MP sensors for macros and depth calculation. Nokia G10 lacks an ultrawide sensor. Both Nokia G10 and Nokia G20 have the same 8 MP selfie snapper.

Battery

The Nokia G10 and the Nokia G20 are equipped with the same battery sporting a capacity of 5050 mAh. It is a huge battery for an entry-level phone and it is able to reach three days of battery life. The battery can be charged through a USB Type-C port, but unfortunately, the phones do not support fast charging.

Price

The Nokia G10 hitten the European market with a price tag of €139/$165 for the base variant with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage. The Nokia G20 starts from €159/$189 for the version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. In terms of specifications, you can actually find better phones from other brands in the same price range. But with the Nokia G10 and Nokia G20, you get very long software support for an entry-level phone including two major Android versions and three years of security updates, which is not guaranteed with other brands. Given the price difference of just €20 in their price, we recommend you to go for the Nokia G20 in order to get a better chipset and a better camera setup.

We had so many events that it was a bit hard to keep count of the many devices that launched in the span of a month.
As usual, we have entries from well-known brands like OPPO, Xiaomi, Redmi, realme, Nokia, and a few surprises from companies like Sony and TCL. So without wasting your time, let’s dive into it straight away.

Redmi Gaming Smartphone

Gaming smartphones have their own niche audience and companies like ASUS, Nubia, Black Shark never fail to tap into the excitement. However, they are going to have a new entry and probably a potential rival, Redmi.

Redmi’s Product Director Wang Teng has confirmed that the company will hold a launch event this month and rumors are rife that the star of the show could be the Redmi’s first gaming phone. So far, we know that a device with model number M2104K10C/M2104K10I under respective brands Redmi/POCO could be the upcoming device.

It is confirmed to feature MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset something that we saw in the likes of realme GT Neo as well.

Samsung Galaxy F12, F02s

Samsung is beginning the month by launching two devices under the F-series- Galaxy F12, Galaxy F02s on April 5. Teasers so far hint that they share a lot of specs with the already launched Galaxy M12 and M02s.

The device is likely to debut in India under the ₹40,000($547) price tag. The iQOO 7, which has already launched in China, features a 6.62-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 888 with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage.

Other features of the iQOO 7 include a 48MP triple-cameras, 16MP selfie shooter, Monster touch, L-shaped VC plate for cooling, 4,000mAh battery, and Android 11 OS.

Other expected launches

realme 8 5G, realme 8i

realme has already confirmed that it will launch a 5G version of the realme 8 and a budget-friendly realme 8i in India. Out of this, the realme 8 5G has already stopped at FCC certification.

However, this launch might skipped to next month as well so take this with a pinch of salt.

Vivo V21 series

Vivo V21 series was rumored to come before in India but that hasn’t happened yet. The company had other ideas and brought a flagship X60 series to the country. However, it could soon launch one of the supposed members of the V21 series- Vivo V21 SE.

Reports reveal that it could be a rebadged version of the iQOO U3 which means it could come with a Dimensity 800U chipset with 5G support. Let’s hope that Vivo doesn’t skip any further.

Oppo A74 4G & 5G, A94 & A54 5G

OPPO is said to bring the remaining devices of the OPPO Axx series and it might happen this month. The company has already unveiled the OPPO A54 4G version already. Next in line could be the OPPO A74, A54, and A94 5G models.

The OPPO A74 4G is said to come in certain markets as rebranded OPPO F19 while the 5G version could have Snapdragon 480 chipset.

On the other hand, the OPPO A94 5G could be the OPPO F19 Pro+ 5G for Europe whereas OPPO A54 5G is said to be a rebadged version of OPPO A93 5G.

Huawei P50 series

When it comes to Huawei, things haven’t been so smooth lately. The company is struggling a lot to gather the supply chain after the US ban and it is hitting them hard. Previously rumored to come this month, the launch of the Huawei P50 series looks to be a far cry for now.

However, anything can happen in between so let’s hope that Huawei turns tables to come back stronger.

Representative image: Nokia C3

As per the report, Nokia C20 will be available in 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage variant. The last time Nokia launched a 1GB RAM phone, it was the Nokia 1.4 from February 2021.

Given Nokia’s recent change of naming conventions like the G-series, it is possible that the Nokia C20 might either replace the Nokia 1.xx lineup or be the successor of the C-series of devices from 2020.

Mind you, we have a device named Nokia C1 Plus from Dec. 2020 with 2GB RAM and Nokia C3 from August 2020 with a 3GB RAM variant so it’s really unclear what Nokia C20 is going to succeed at this point.

Anyway, the Nokia C20 is expected to launch in two colors – Blue and Sand options. It is also expected to run Android 11 Go edition and the HTML5 test page shows that it’s running Android 11. Lastly, the device is likely to be priced around 89 euros(~$106).

Looking at multiple news about HMD Global lately, I think that they are finally addressing the issue of the confusing naming scheme of their devices. However, naming isn’t everything as the internals and pricing play a major role in the company’s sales charts.

I just hope that HMD Global renovates itself in 2021 and launches phones with good price-to-performance ratios and not end up like last year.

Rumors have it that the company will announce Nokia X10, Nokia X20, and Nokia G10 smartphones. The initial report on G10 claimed that it will be arriving as a gaming-focused phone. However, its Geekbench listing tells a different story as it has been spotted with a low-powered chipset. At the same time, a new report by Nokia Power User has revealed the key details of a new phone named the Nokia G20, which may arrive with the G10.

The Nokia G10’s has scored 150 in the single-core test and 858 in the multi-core. The handset recorded such low scores because it is equipped with an Helio P22 chipset, which is mentioned with the MT6762 model number in the listing. The SoC is supported by 4 GB of RAM and it runs on Android 11 OS.

It is speculated that the handset has a 6.4-inch HD+ display, a 48-megapixel quad-camera system, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, 3GB / 4GB RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB storage, a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It may arrive in blue and purple color editions.

According to NPU, its source has revealed that the Nokia G20, which will be positioned higher than the G10, will feature a more powerful MediaTek chip. Without mentioning the details, it claimed the Nokia G20 will come with better cameras than the G10.

The publication claims that the Nokia G10 and G20 will bear some similarities with the Nokia 5.4. It calls the G10 a low-priced Nokia 5.4 alternative. On the other hand, the G20 is expected to offer a few better specs than the Nokia 5.4.

The Nikia G20 may arrive with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. It could be coming in colors like Silver and Blue. The 4G+64GB base model could be priced at 169 euros (~$201).

The G10 will pack a quad-camera setup made up of four sensors which includes a 48MP main sensor as well as a 2MP depth sensor, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. The phone will also pack a 16MP selfie camera in the front for selfies, and a LED flash on the rear side.

To keep the lights on will be a generous 4,000mAh battery which will also have support for 10W fast-charging. The G10 will also come with dual SIM support.

But an interesting report recently revealed that the firm will be launching a new handset called Nokia G10 with model number TA-1334.
Lastly, since the Nokia G10 (TA-1334) has been certified in Malaysia and Thailand (earlier) by SIRIM and TÜV Rheinland, we can expect this handset to launch in these markets.

Multiple Nokia phones that were expected to launch last year are still unannounced and its rollout of Android 11 to eligible devices has been really slow. However, exciting news has surfaced from the Finnish company and it says that the manufacturer is planning a new series of phones, the first of which will launch as the Nokia G10.

First reported by NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia G10 will be the first of a new line, the Nokia G-series. According to their source, the Nokia phone with model number TA-1334 is the Nokia G10.

The phone is expected to have a 6.4-inch screen, an octa-core processor, and have a 48MP quad-camera setup on its back. The device is said to share a lot of its specs with the Nokia 5.4 but we expect it to have some notable differences.

There is no news on when the phone will launch but it may not be too long considering the device has been certified in Thailand as well as by TÜV Rheinland.

In related news, it has been reported that HMD Global will adopt a new naming scheme this year. The info comes from the Twitter account Nokibar (@baidunokibar) and it revealed in a tweet that HMD Global will ditch the “dot” naming style it has used since it began manufacturing Nokia smartphones.

Nokia phones will have a new naming convention later this year, removing all "dot". #nokia #nokiamobile pic.twitter.com/KpZ3GTDsf8

— nokibar (@baidunokibar) March 7, 2021

There have been several complaints about how the current naming scheme is confusing, and it appears HMD Global has decided to resolve it. From the image, it appears Nokia will be going with a mix of alphabets and numbers.
