<p>The news comes via KoreaTimes which reports that there&#8217;s a growing concern among smartphone manufacturers and customers about the security of Qualcomm&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ultrasonic-fingerprint">Ultrasonic fingerprint</a> sensors. The report further adds that industry officials had doubts about this technology even before it made it to the market as it &#8216;exhibited a greater probability of errors&#8217;. So the recent issue with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung&#8217;s</a> devices further spoiled the sensor&#8217;s reputation in the market.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/26/samsung-patents-a-galaxy-tablet-that-folds-into-a-passport-sized-screen/">Samsung patents a Galaxy Tablet that Folds into a Passport Sized screen</a> </strong></h6>
<p>According to the industry official, it looks like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm&#8217;s</a> ultrasonic technology has its limits and developers have to be extra careful in designing software for its sensors. On the other hand, the optical sensor based in-display sensors seem to be doing well, with a lot of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/04/xiaomi-mi-cc9-pro-fingerprint-sensor/">manufacturers adopting this technology over ultrasonic sensors</a>.</p>
<figure id="attachment_281337" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-281337" style="width: 1620px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-281337" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus 7T Hands on screen fingerprint" width="1620" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint.jpg 1620w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-screen-fingerprint-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1620px) 100vw, 1620px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-281337" class="wp-caption-text">OnePlus 7T uses an optical in-screen fingerprint</figcaption></figure>
<p>The two technologies differ in the way they read a user&#8217;s fingerprint. Optical in-display sensors use optical (light-based) scanners to authenticate the user&#8217;s fingerprint while Qualcomm&#8217;s sensors use ultrasonic waves.</p>
<p>Given the issues associated with Qualcomm&#8217;s ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors, it is possible that Samsung ditches it in favor of the traditional optical scanners for its next-generation Galaxy flagships. To recall, Samsung phones like Galaxy S10 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-10/">Note 10</a> were both<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/23/several-global-banks-remove-app-support-for-galaxy-s10-note-10-models/"> blacklisted by a number of international banks</a> back when the fingerprint security issue was revealed. Given how smartphones are increasingly being used to make financial transactions, manufacturers like Samsung wouldn&#8217;t want to take any risks in terms of security.</p>
<p>Note that Samsung is yet to comment on this matter.</p>

However, according to the latest teardown by iFixit, the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-10-plus-5g/">Galaxy Note 10+ 5G</a> takes its internals to a whole new level. It&#8217;s the worse of the lot, scoring only three out of ten for its repairability.</p>
<figure id="attachment_271925" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-271925" style="width: 1600px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-271925 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown.jpg?x10805" alt="Galaxy note 10+ 5g ifixit teardown" width="1600" height="1200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-271925" class="wp-caption-text">Source: iFixit</figcaption></figure>
<p>Why the low score you ask? Well, everything seems to be glued down inside the phone, right from the back cover to the battery, which is now wider than before. The biggest change inside the new Note 10+ 5G is the use of a stacked motherboard (similar to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a>) in order to save space. But this makes for a trickier mother and daughterboard connection which forced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> to use &#8220;annoying interconnect cables&#8221; (as iFixit puts it) which further block access to the battery.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>RELATED: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/23/huawei-confirms-the-kirin-990-processor-mate-x-foldable-will-feature-it/">Huawei confirms the Kirin 990 processor, Mate X foldable will feature it</a></strong></p>
<p>Another notable change inside was the use of the square-ish vibration motor instead of the regular circular one found on its predecessors. iFixit notes that this should result in better haptics on the new model. You&#8217;ll also find three <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mmwave">mmWave</a> antenna modules inside for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a>, two on each side of the phone and one facing the screen.</p>
<figure id="attachment_271924" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-271924" style="width: 1600px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-271924" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Galaxy note 10+ 5g ifixit teardown 2" width="1600" height="1200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Galaxy-note-10-5g-ifixit-teardown-2-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-271924" class="wp-caption-text">Source: iFixit</figcaption></figure>
<p>But what gave this phone the worst repairability score is the mess you have to go through for something as simple as replacing its beautiful display. iFixit says that the Note 10+ 5G will either require a complete teardown or you&#8217;ll have to replace half the phone just to change its 6.8-inch screen! That&#8217;s too much of a hassle and it practically kills any possibility of doing it yourself.</p>
<p>In short, the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G is an amazing smartphone as long as you don&#8217;t break it.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-268306" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Blackview BV6100" width="800" height="516" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2.jpg 1364w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2-300x194.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2-768x495.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2-1024x661.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2-696x449.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2-1068x689.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-2-651x420.jpg 651w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>If the design is your main priority, then the choice is crystal clear since the Honor Note 10 sports a sleek design with notch-less display and a glass back. On the other hand, the BV6100&#8217;s sides and corners are ruggedized with anti-wear aluminum alloy and impact buffers. It looks tough and masculine, with a notch located on the upper-right corner. Interestingly, BV6100’s front and back are covered with Corning® Gorilla Glass for aesthetics and toughness. Appearance is the most subjective criterion of all but still, Note 10 has an advantage. Let&#8217;s take a look at both in the comparison video below.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UK3Rff0hXLI?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Moving on to performance, the real question you should ask yourself is what kind of apps do you use the most. Honor Note 10 comes with Kirin 970 8-core SoC backed by 6GB/128GB memory configuration and Android 8.1, 16MP/13MP rear/front cameras, and 5000mAh battery. The Blackview BV6100 comes with Helio A22 4-Core SoC backed by 3GB/16GB memory configuration, a 5580mAh, Android 9 Pie, and IP68/IP69K/MIL-STD-810G certifications.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-268308" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1.jpg?x10805" alt="Blackview BV6100" width="800" height="539" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1.jpg 1319w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1-300x202.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1-768x518.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1-1024x690.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1-696x469.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1-1068x720.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-1-623x420.jpg 623w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Of course, the Note 10 has a clear advantage over its opponent in raw power but what happens when you need a durable device? The BV6100 withstands 1.5m deep water submersion, is dustproof, and won&#8217;t break even if you drop it from 1.5m high. Besides, it’s designed with 360° all-round dust-proof protection. The tough body gains its popularity among outdoor enthusiasts, construction workers, firemen, and more. So, if specs are what you are after, go for the Honor Note 10. Choose BV6100 if you need a reliable partner for outdoors sports or for severe living environments.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-268307" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Blackview BV6100" width="800" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Blackview-BV6100-3-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Finally, we come to the part that interests most of the buyers. If the budget is the major factor for you, the BV6100 is the ultimate winners as it costs from $149.99 to $189.99 with free tempered glass and cool phone case, while the Note 10 costs around $340. Samsung has also announced its Galaxy S series flagship devices such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/02/21/samsung-galaxy-s10-s10-5g-s10and-s10e-price-and-availability/">Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e</a>. It&#8217;s been only a few days since the device has hit the shelves, and the renders of its upcoming Galaxy Note 10 has started surfacing on the web. Recently, guys over at PhoneArena designed concept renders of Galaxy Note 10 by considering current leaked specs and other design details.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-240168" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-concept-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="640" height="427" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-concept-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-concept-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-concept-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-concept.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>As of now, Samsung has no definite plans of when they will announce the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. However, on the <a href="//www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-note-10">basis of leaks</a> and other theoretical information available, new concept renders are here showcasing the design of Note 10. PhoneArena has managed to develop near-possible renders of it resembling the recently launched Galaxy S10 device. Last year, Note 9 also carried similar aspects as the Galaxy S9.</p>
<p>While looking at the Note 9 concept renders, it is quite difficult to ignore its huge Quad camera module on the rear side along with a flash and other sensors. The shape of the whole camera module is horizontal with little round edges. The concept is derived from rumors which state that it will feature a quad camera setup as like of Galaxy S10. To recall, Galaxy S10 carries a 12MP standard camera, 12 MP telephoto lens, a 16 MP wide-angle shooter and a 3D ToF camera sensor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-240167" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-colors-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="640" height="427" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-colors-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-colors-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-colors-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/samsung-galaxy-note-10-colors.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>On the front, its Infinity-O display taken from Galaxy S10 can be seen with a punch hole featuring dual front cameras. In display cameras are still not available. So we need to wait for some more years for that kind of advancement to take place. Until then, we can&#8217;t have a true bezel-less display device, unless you are okay with pop up cameras. Currently, the source is not entirely confident about the size or shape of the punch hole.</p>
<p>Samsung introduced Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor with Galaxy S10 launch. The same kind of fitting is present in the renders. In reality, we believe Galaxy Note 10 will also use this new technology. Unlike Optical fingerprint sensors, Ultrasonics are faster and more reliable. It&#8217;s extremely likely that Note 10 will also feature black shaded top right corner wallpapers to hide punch hole as the Galaxy S10.</p>

</ul>
<p>If we go with the renders, then Galaxy Note 10 repair is also going to be expensive as<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/03/07/samsung-galaxy-s10-repairs-to-burn-a-hole-in-your-pocket-claims-ifixit-teardown/"> like iFixit revealed yesterday</a> for Galaxy S10 devices.</p>
