Carl Pei’s start-up Nothing is gearing up to release several products after the successful launch of its first product – the Ear (1) earbuds. The brand recently disclosed that it is working towards the release of five new products. Also, there are rumors of the brand releasing a smartphone and power bank soon. A new tip has now emerged that the brand is planning to release the Ear 1 in a new color hue.

91mobiles quotes noted tipster Ishan Agarwal to have disclosed that Nothing is planning to release the Nothing Ear 1 black variant will soon be released. The tipster did not reveal further details as to when the new color option will be released.

Nothing first unveiled the Ear 1 for the global market back in July and it was available only in a white transparent version. The transparent design is one of the stand-out features of the earbud so, we expect the company to retain the transparent design on the bac variant. With loads of functionality available in the Nothing ear (1) including active noise cancellation, its price of $99 is highly competitive for a start. Much of the established products with similar features are priced higher than the price of the ear (1).

Some of the impressive features onboard include IPX4 water and sweat-resistant rating, in-ear detection that detects if the earbuds are removed from the ear. There is also Bluetooth 5.2 support as well as ANC, among others.

Nothing ear (1) next sale in India set for August 31 via Flipkart

Jed John Ikoba — Tue, 24 Aug 2021 17:30:24 +0000

UK-based consumer tech company Nothing finally took the wraps off the Nothing ear (1) earbuds last month and the earbuds went on the first sale a couple of weeks back. The product was sold out in less than two minutes with just 4800 units made available.

Nothing has now announced that the earbuds will go on sale again via Flipkart on August 31st at 12 noon. Just like the first sale, buyers will get access to free 6 months subscription to Gaana Plus music streaming services. In addition, holders of ICICI Bank Credit cards who make the purchase using their credit cards will get an instant discount of Rs. 500.

The Nothing ear (1) is priced at Rs. 5,999 (~$80) for the Indian market. This is a fairly decent price tag and a further Rs. 500 discount is sure attractive. Unfortunately, Nothing hasn’t disclosed the number of units that will be available for the next sale. We also expect the product to be sold out in minutes in the next round of sales. As a reminder, the Nothing ear (1) adopts a transparent design that exposes the internal components such as the microphones, magnets and circuit board. The earbud utilizes an 11.6 mm driver and brings support for Active Noise Cancellation as well as Bluetooth 5.2. In terms of durability, the ear (1) delivers up to 5.7 hours of music playback on a single charge and that is extended up to 34 hours if the charging case is factored in. The case features ultra-fast charging and supports Qi wireless charging protocol.

Nothing ear (1) earbuds launched with a unique design and a $99 price tag

After announcing that its first product will arrive this summer back in February, Nothing has finally taken the wraps off the Nothing ear (1) earbuds. The headphones were announced today during a live stream.

The Nothing ear (1) tries to stand out from the several other earbuds available now with its design. It has a transparent body and you can see the internals through the clear plastic. To be honest, it actually looks much better than expected. Nothing has settled for a closed in-ear design with liquid silicone tips and each earbud (and case) has the product name engraved on it.

The earbuds each weigh 4.7 grams and feature 11.6mm drivers from Teenage Engineering. They have an IPX4 rating making them resistant to sweat and splashes. They also have in-ear detection, and with the companion app, you can adjust active noise cancellation, activate transparency mode, and change the equalizer settings. There is also a Find My Earbud feature in the app. The companion app is available for Android and iOS.

Nothing says the earbuds will provide 4 hours of battery life with ANC turned on and 5.7 hours with ANC turned off. The charging case takes the total battery life up to 34 hours. You will be able to recharge the case via a USB-C port or by placing it on a Qi wireless charger.

The Nothing ear (1) will be available starting on August 17 in several countries and regions including the US, Europe, India, and the UK. However, there will be a limited sale via the Nothing website on July 31. The earbuds will sell for $99 in the US, €99 in Europe, £99 in the UK, and INR 5,999 in India.
