Carl Pei’s new start-up Nothing had announced, a couple of months back, that its first product will be truly wireless earbuds. The gadget was later confirmed to bear the moniker Nothing Ear (1) TWS earbuds. The startup recently announced recently that the earbuds will be going official in some countries later this month after a slight delay. The prices in the US, UK, and Europe have also been revealed.

Right now, Nothing has officially teased the ear (1) TWS earbuds India price. The earbuds will retail for Rs. 5,999 (around $80). This is notably way cheaper than the prices set for other countries. For reference, the ear (1) will sell for $99 in the United States, while it will retail for €99 in Europe and £99 in the UK. The reduced pricing is impressive and will definitely influence the overall sales in the Indian market.

Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei had already revealed some key specifications of the TWS earbuds. The earbuds are expected to come with a transparent design which he noted is very difficult to achieve since certain parameters such as magnets and glue types have to be put into consideration so as to retain the aesthetics.

In addition, the earbuds are expected to feature a state-of-the-art Active Noise Cancellation. The noise cancellation feature uses three high-definition microphones. It also packs other features that you’ll find in high-end earbuds like the AirPods Pro.

Nothing had earlier confirmed that the ear (1) TWS earbuds will be sold exclusively on Flipkart in India. The product is expected to go live at 18:30 IST (14:00 BST) on July 27.

OnePlus‘ co-founder Carl Pei earlier this year took the industry by surprise when he announced that he was leaving OnePlus. The tech guru later revealed his next project, a company weirdly named “Nothing“. In February, the startup hinted that its first product will be a pair of wireless earbuds that would be unveiled in the summer. Nothing has now announced that the much-anticipated wireless earbuds will be launching in June and will be called Ear 1.

This was disclosed today in an official press release posted on the company’s website and signed by Carl Pei. Even though the company didn’t indicate that the Ear 1 is a pair of wireless earbuds, the earlier disclosure that its first product will be a pair of wireless earbuds already told us that.

In addition, the press release contains images of a pair of True wireless earbuds with a unique design that won’t struggle to carve an identity for itself. The earbud utilizes a long stem which will make it easy for the earbuds to clearly pick up voices during calls. Since the images are just silhouettes of what the final product will look like, we expect some amazing aesthetics.

Nothing notes that the Ear 1 is basically the beginning of what promises to be an eventful journey. Going by Carl Pei’s antecedents, we anticipate a retinue of innovative products with spectacular designs tailored to meet the needs of users. The Ear 1 is confirmed to fuse an iconic form with notes of transparency and refined functionality.

Carl Pei also disclosed why the company chose an earphone as its first product. He noted the team loves music, podcasts, and audiobooks. He also noted that the earphones market provides a fertile ground for the company to strengthen its capabilities due to the astronomic rate at which the industry is growing. Nothing also sees the market as begging for differentiation and this is an opportunity to showcase a top-notch design while delivering value from the go. We expect the company to announce a specific launch date for the June event soon.
