<p>You&#8217;ve likely heard of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing </a>as a tech brand over the last couple of years. The company doesn&#8217;t want to be known as just another tech brand, and its products have stood out from the typical mold. This is true for its various smartphones and hearable products like earbuds and headphones. But who should actually consider buying a Nothing device? The brand is clearly not for everyone, so here&#8217;s a look at the type of users who can get the most value from Nothing.</p>

<h3>Design-First and Style-Oriented Users</h3>

<p>Right from the get-go, Nothing was clear in its vision of offering products with an emphasis on design. Their gadgets aren&#8217;t just made to stand out, but also aim to offer a premium, well-thought-out look from the inside and out (software and hardware). With its first couple of products, like the Nothing Ear (1) and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nothing-phone-1/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing Phone (1)</a>, the brand had established a unique visual design and personality. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-707562" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1758270319-578461-output-header.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Ear (3)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The company employed transparent panels for its smartphones, headphones, and TWS earbuds. Furthermore, the Phone series also got the Glyph interface, which originally used LED lighting and now also includes a Dot matrix screen with its latest flagship. So a minimalist aesthetic with a distinctive material/finish language helped these devices stand out from the typical smartphone. </p>

<p>If you already like Nothing as a brand, then the design clearly appeals to you. So for those who care about how their device looks just as much as how it works, Nothing offers a unique option. Those who want their phone or earbuds to reflect style, rather than just function, may find Nothing particularly compelling.</p>

<h3>Mid-Range Enthusiasts Seeking Clean Software &amp; Value</h3>

<p>Nothing also appeals to users who don’t want to spend flagship-level money but still expect a refined experience. The company&#8217;s CMF series was built for those on a budget, while the Nothing Phone (a) series brings premium design elements to mid range phones. A regular mid range phone is built for function over form, with very little thought put into its overall design. However, Nothing brings a flagship level feel to its affordable phones as well, with its capable specs and recognizable yet minimalist software. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Nothing Phone (3a) Lite" class="wp-image-713141" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Nothing-Phone-3a-Lite.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Phone (3a) Lite</figcaption></figure></div>

<h3>Audio Lovers Who Appreciate Design &amp; Branding</h3>

<p>On the audio front, models like the Nothing Headphone (1) and the Ear (3) have solid designs and features at accessible pricing. Even with premium audio products, design isn&#8217;t an immediate priority. You can find better earbuds and headphones on the market, but none have such a distinct look.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="637" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-1024x637.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-695135" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-1024x637.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-300x187.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-768x478.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-696x433.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-1068x664.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-675x420.png 675w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1-356x220.png 356w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/nothing-headphone-1.png 1471w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Headphone (1)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>There&#8217;s a recognisable shaping, finish, branding, and even sound profile. If you’re an audio enthusiast who also cares about “wearable design” and how your earbuds look in real life, Nothing hearables are a fun option to experience Nothing&#8217;s audio tuning and head turning design.</p>

<h3>Why You Might Pause Before Buying</h3>

<p>However, Nothing may not be the best fit for everyone. If you prioritise absolute flagship performance, premium grade cameras, and cutting edge hardware, other brands may still deliver more for the same price. Also, while the ecosystem is improving, it’s still smaller than large legacy brands, meaning accessories, service centres and software might lag in some regions.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing </a>has officially unveiled its latest premium truly wireless earbuds. The Nothing Ear (3) isn&#8217;t just one of the premium earbuds that promise great audio and powerful ANC, but also brings some nifty new features. There are several new updates this year, so let&#8217;s check them out.</p>

<h2>Nothing Ear (3): What makes it special?</h2>

<p>Getting some of the typical specs and features out of the way first, the Nothing Ear (3) just debuted with 12mm dynamic drivers. These earbuds support in-ear detection, Low Lag Mode, and 8-band Equalizer. Nothing promises improved bass and treble along with a wider soundstage. The Ear (3) connects via Bluetooth 5.4, bringing LDAC support. Oddly enough, these models skip LHDC 5.0 support, which was available in its predecessor.</p>

<p>The Nothing Ear (3) features up to 45dB ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) that can be adjusted with 4 modes. You also get a transparency mode and clear voice technology, which is powered by a 3 microphone setup. But what makes these hearables actually stand out is the Super Mic tech. The brand even uses a bone-conduction Voice Pick-up Unit (VPU) that can detect micro vibrations from the jaw and ear canal. This feature has the charging case double as a dedicated mic since it houses a dual microphone setup. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Nothing Ear (3)" class="wp-image-707384" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Ear (3)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Nothing claims that the system can filter ambient noise up to 95dB, which can be used to record voice notes directly from the case to Nothing&#8217;s Essential Space. The charging case also gets a redesign with a metallic body that includes a transparent top lid. Apart from using AI for the environmental noise cancellation system, the earbuds also arrive with ChatGPT integration similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/18/nothing-ear-ear-a-launched-globally/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing Ear (a)</a>. On a single full charge, the earbuds offer up to 10 hours of audio playback, which falls to 5.5 hours with ANC enabled. Pairing it with the charging case, the battery life jumps to up to 38 hours (22 hours with ANC on). </p>

<p>For convenient controls, the Nothing Ear (3) arrives with pinch controls like the AirPods Pro. So users can pinch to play/pause, skip forward, skip back, answer calls, reject calls, and even switch between ANC and transparency modes, control volume, and launch the assistant. Other notable features include AAC and SBC audio codecs, Hi Res audio, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, dual device connection, Static Spatial Audio, and an IP54 rating on both the earbuds and case for water and dust resistance. </p>

<p>The charging case supports Qi wireless charging and offers 10 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charging. Nothing&#8217;s Ear (3) has just been announced in White and Black color variants for 179 US Dollars. Pre-orders are already live via the brand&#8217;s official website and through select partners. First sales kick off on 25th September 2025. As of right now, the pricing and availability details have been confirmed for the US, UK, and Europe. However, the details for a wider release should surface soon.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/">Nothing</a> has officially teased its upcoming flagship earbuds, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/08/premium-nothing-ear-3-tws-go-official-on-september-18">Ear (3)</a>, just days before their full debut on September 18. The preview gives us a closer look at the design, which introduces a fresh mix of premium materials and some intriguing new features.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706490" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-161635.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>For the first time in its lineup, Nothing is incorporating metal into the build of its true wireless earbuds. Both the charging case and the earbuds themselves feature recycled anodized aluminum alongside the brand’s signature transparent aesthetic. The addition not only improves durability but also gives the Ear (3) a more premium look and feel. That said, the use of metal on the underside of the case raises questions about whether wireless charging will still be supported.</p>

<p>The earbuds themselves have been slightly reshaped for better comfort and feature a slimmer 0.35mm metal antenna, which should improve connectivity. The gaps in the design have also been reduced, giving the Ear (3) a more refined finish compared to previous models.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-video aligncenter"><video controls src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1757589970-231297-ear3reveal-1.mp4"></video></figure>

<p>Perhaps the most intriguing part of this teaser is the “Talk” button built into the charging case. Nothing hasn’t explained what it does yet, but speculation points to quick access for voice assistants—or possibly deeper AI integration, given the company’s recent experiments in that area. Another teased feature is a so-called “Super Mic,” likely aimed at delivering clearer call quality and smoother voice assistant interactions. Unfortunately, Nothing is holding back details on audio quality and battery life until the launch.</p>

<p>With the official launch set for September 18, Nothing is clearly positioning the Ear (3) as a premium option alongside its more affordable Ear (a). Between the new metal design and the mysterious Talk button, these earbuds are shaping up to be one of the brand’s most ambitious products yet.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/nothing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing </a>has officially revealed the launch date for its next premium TWS earbuds. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/05/nothing-confirms-its-next-product-is-the-ear-3-earbuds/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing Ear (3) was just confirmed</a> last week, and we finally have more details regarding its release. It will be making its official debut next week, so here are all the details.</p>

<h2>Mark Your Calendars: Nothing Ear (3) Arrives September 18</h2>

<p>An official tweet from the company just confirmed that the Nothing Ear (3) will debut globally on 18th September 2025. This teaser was also shared with an image that offers us a glimpse of the new truly wireless earbuds. To recall, the previous high end Ear (2) was announced more than two years ago, so the Ear (3) was long overdue. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="680" height="680" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-Launch-Date.jpeg?x44794" alt="Nothing Ear (3)" class="wp-image-705907" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-Launch-Date.jpeg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-Launch-Date-300x300.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-Launch-Date-150x150.jpeg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-3-Launch-Date-420x420.jpeg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /><figcaption>Nothing Ear (3)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Unfortunately, the brand has yet to reveal any finer details regarding the Nothing Ear (3), so we have no idea regarding its specs, pricing, design, or features. Considering how the brand&#8217;s iconic look includes transparent elements on the earbuds, the new flagship earbuds will likely bring a similar look. This is given further weight with the teaser image, which also reveals the black silicone ear tips. </p>

<p>We might be looking at the black variant, although, Nothing usually offers a white variant as well. As the name suggests, the Ear (3) is the direct successor to the Ear (2). The brand announced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/18/nothing-ear-ear-a-launched-globally/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing Ear (a) last year</a>, which features smart ANC, Hi Res wireless audio, and ChatGPT integration with voice commands. In other words, a similar set of features could make a return on the next gen Nothing Ear (3) as well.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?s=nothing" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nothing</a> has officially teased the launch of its next-generation earbuds, the Ear (3). In a typical Nothing fashion, the company made a succinct post on X (formerly Twitter), simply stating, &#8220;Ear (3). Soon.&#8221; </p>

<p>The more interesting detail is in the name. After briefly shifting to a letter-based system with the Ear and Ear (a) in 2024, the company is reverting to numbers with its next earbud. That puts the new model back in line with the Ear (1) and Ear (2), which launched in July 2021 and March 2023, respectively. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Ear (3). Soon. <a href="https://t.co/e1JVSYwqWa">pic.twitter.com/e1JVSYwqWa</a></p>&mdash; Nothing (@nothing) <a href="https://twitter.com/nothing/status/1963935151433437480?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 5, 2025</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>The company <a href="https://nothing.community/d/41386-ear-3-soon" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">explained </a>that user feedback highlighted the importance of this naming approach; as a result, the upcoming model is called the Ear (3). Though it’s technically a fourth-generation product.</p>

<p>Nothing has not shared any details about what the Ear (3) will bring, and there haven’t been leaks yet either. So for now, it’s worth looking back at what the current-generation Ear offers.</p>

<p>The Nothing Ear features a custom 11mm ceramic driver, designed to deliver clearer sound with more pronounced bass. It supports Hi-Res Wireless Audio and comes with up to 45dB of active noise cancellation. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-1024x536.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-705436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear-803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Nothing-Ear.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Nothing Ear </figcaption></figure>

<p>The ANC system is adaptive, adjusting in real time to compensate for sound leakage between the earbud and ear canal. Users can also switch between three noise cancellation levels depending on their environment.</p>

<p>On the connectivity side, the Ear supports Bluetooth 5.4 and dual-device pairing, allowing users to connect to two devices at once. Its battery life is rated at up to 8.5 hours of playback on a single charge, or 9.5 hours with ANC disabled. With the charging case, playback extends to around 40.5 hours.</p>

<h2>Nothing may launch the Ear (3) in January</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/nothing-ear-2-1-1024x576-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Nothing" class="wp-image-525716" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/nothing-ear-2-1-1024x576-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/nothing-ear-2-1-1024x576-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/nothing-ear-2-1-1024x576-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/nothing-ear-2-1-1024x576-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/nothing-ear-2-1-1024x576-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The publication reveals that Nothing is working on a product that is due to launch in January 2024. However, the source does not mention what the upcoming offering could be. The publication speculates that it could be a next-generation flagship TWS earphone, probably the Ear (3). It could indeed be true going by Nothing’s launch timeline of its TWS earphones. The brand announced the Ear (2) in March this year whereas its predecessor, the Ear (1) debuted in June 2021. It hints that the company could launch the upcoming Ear (3) earlier than the Ear (1).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nothing may also launch an entirely new product if it’s not the Ear (3). However, it is not expected to be a new smartphone as the brand launched the Phone (2) in July this year. The company forayed in to the fashion segment with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/12/nothing-announces-nothing-apparel/">Nothing Apparel</a> and also launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/05/nothing-beer-5-1-launched/">Beer (5.1)</a> last month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Nothing Ear (3)’s key details are also a mystery. But we can expect it to come with the same design, enhanced ANC, improved battery life, and new software features.&nbsp;</p>
