A new video that shows the Nothing Phone (1) being disassembled has surfaced. The video emanated from the YouTube channel PBK Reviews and outlined the teardown and reassembly of the Phone (1). It was taken apart bit by bit and then fixed back.

The disassembling process began by removal of the SIM module and then applying heat to soften the adhesive covering of the device. Other components were carefully removed with the moderator alerting users to be careful in the process. The flex cables, top speaker, wireless charging cable, and other components were carefully removed to gain access to the cameras. There are graphite heat dissipation components atop the main board. On the main board, there is a 50MP primary lens and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. The 4,500mAh battery is removed and reveals an array of cables and components.

The replacement of the Phone (1) screen can be very complicated due to the processes before getting access to the screen. The Nothing Phone (1) gets a very low repairability score of 3 out of 10. The video is concluded by reassembling the device and it was successfully powered on.

The teardown/ reassembly video of the Phone (1) was quite comprehensive. All the components of the mid-range device were well explained and carefully taken apart. The device supports 33W wired and 15W wireless charging, with reverse charging also supported. The Phone (1) is also splash resistant and is priced at $745 for the 12GB+ 256GB model.

The company is pushing for the smartphone market with its first smartphone dubbed Nothing Phone (1) and scheduled to launch on July 12 which is just a few days away. Ahead of the official unveiling, here is a compendium of all the details of the smartphone that have hit the public domain via official teasers, certifications, benchmarks, leaks and more.

The Nothing Phone (1) is expected to feature a 6.55-inch OLED display that will have support for a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The official images of the phone show it will have a hole-punch design with the opening nested at the top left corner of the screen. The phone is near bezel-less with a high screen-to-body ratio. The display is also said to have an under-screen fingerprint sensor. A Corning Gorilla glass protection is rumoured to be available on both the front and rear panels.

The rear design is what stands out on the Phone (1) design. The device features a transparent back panel. This has been a trendy feature that has often been well-received by fans. But the transparent back panel isn’t the only reason why the rear panel stands out. The phone also includes some LED lights called “Glyph Interface” enhancing the aesthetics. One of the light strips surrounds the camera, while there is a second one located at the top right corner having a diagonal design. A G-shaped light strip sits at the centre of the device while there is also a vertical strip on the bottom of the rear panel.

For photography, the Nothing smartphone will pack a dual rear camera setup said to be a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The camera is said to be capable of shooting 4K videos at 60 fps.

For processor, the Nothing Phone (1) is confirmed by Carl Pei to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+ processor which brings support for wireless and reverse charging. Talking of charging, there are rumours that the Phone (1) won’t ship with a power adapter even though it will feature support for 33W fast charging as per TUV certification website.

For interface, the smartphone is tipped to run an Android 12-based NothingOS. While some may prefer the stock Android experience, the NothingOS promises to deliver a clean and minimalist UI.

However, there’s not much mystery left about the phone as most of its specifications have leaked online. Carl Pei, Nothing’s co-founder, recently confirmed the Snapdragon 778+ Processor. Today, a noted tipster is here with what appears to be the specs sheet of the smartphone. Let’s have a look at the available details.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav has leaked key specifications of Nothing Phone (1) on Twitter. The tipster shared an image that looks like the product description page of the Phone (1). It contains a lot of marketing speak so we’ll break it down into simple words for you.

As per the leak, the Nothing Phone (1) will feature a 6.55-inch OLED display that carries support for a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The smartphone will house dual rear cameras with a 50-megapixel primary sensor having an f/1.8 aperture. The leak suggests that the smartphone can record 4K videos at 60 fps. The phone will have an aluminum frame and symmetrical bezels.

The leak also mentions the Snapdragon 778+ SoC, which has already been confirmed by Carl Pei himself. The processor is almost the same as the SD 778, however, it supports wireless and reverse charging. The leak also reveals that the smartphone will have dual side Gorilla glass protection.

We already know that the Phone (1) will have LED lights called “Glyph Interface” on the back which sets it apart from the rest of the Android pack. The handset is tipped to run NothingOS based on Android 12. NothingOS is said to offer a clean and minimalist UI.

As mentioned, Nothing Phone (1) is going to launch on July 12 in an event called “Return to instinct”. The smartphone’s pricing has not been revealed yet. However, it is expected to be priced under $400.

The Nothing Phone (1) comes with a unique transparent design. Its images and videos have serenaded customers’ imagination since Nothing started releasing them. It has a Glyph interface consisting of 900 embedded LEDs. These lights up the phone during notifications, camera use, and so on. The Nothing Phone (1) will launch in Europe and the United Kingdom. The Nothing Phone (1) will most likely skip the US market, as per current feelers.

It is rumored that an enthusiastic customer has paid $3,064 via StockX to be among the selected first 100 owners of the phone. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G+ chipset is a mid-range processor and is custom-tuned for the Phone (1). It is less powerful than the premium Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. It remains to be seen how the stated SD 778G+ chip will place the Nothing Phone (1) performance-wise.

The Snapdragon 778G+ chip features wireless charging and reverse wireless charging unlike the base chip the SD 778G. So, it straddles between the mid-range and flagship cadre due to a few features. The choice of a mid-range chipset for the Phone (1) was driven by performance, power consumption, and cost considerations.

Nothing’s co-founder Carl Pei feels the Phone (1) meets all these considerations. While a specific price has not been announced yet for the Phone (1), we expect to know more in the coming days. It is however rumored that the Phone (1) could be priced under $500. The company claims more than 100,000 customers are on the pre-order waiting list.

The company has stated that “It’s our first smartphone and our most important product,” and has also claimed that the launch event is an “invitation to unlearn everything the industry has taught us”.

The phone might launch on July 12, however, it might take the company a while before it is available for purchase. A recent report revealed that the Nothing Phone (1) is likely to be manufactured in India and that the smartphone is yet to enter the production stage.

So far, the company has officially confirmed that the smartphone will sport a transparent back, an aluminum mid-frame, wireless charging support, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset under the hood. Other than that, the device has also been subject to multiple leaks that suggest the device will feature a 6.55-inch full HD+ OLED panel with 1080 x 2400 pixels and 90Hz refresh rate.

Other than that, it will likely have the recently unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset paired with 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. It may be powered by a 4500mAh battery and support wired and wireless fast charging. Lastly, the smartphone is expected to debut around the $500 price range.

Nothing’s campaign for the phone (1) is following the trajectory of OnePlus. Nothing’s Carl Pei had been in OnePlus during their pioneering teaser campaigns for new smartphones. Now he is applying the same tactic at Nothing.

In Germany, the Nothing phone (1) will have Telekom as its exclusive carrier partner. The Nothing phone (1) will thus be available in O2 and Telekom’s outlets in the UK and Germany respectively. Being an unfolding story, it’s unclear whether non-carrier outlets will retail the phone in the UK and Germany.

In India, Flipkart was retained as the sales partner for the Nothing phone (1). For now, there is no mention of whether Flipkart was the exclusive outlet for the smartphone. This is the second year of the Nothing-Flipkart partnership in the subcontinent.

There are still grey areas on the magnitude of the Nothing (1) retail and carrier partnerships. We are yet to get the detailed specs sheet of the device, as well as pricing and availability details. We however expect more details about the device in the coming weeks.

However, it has released the beta version of the device’s official launcher dubbed Nothing Launcher on the Google Play Store for select smartphones. Amidst this, a shady eBook now details the specs of the handset.

Twitter user @rsjadon01 has shared (via MySmartPrice) a few screenshots from an eBook on Amazon titled ‘NOTHING PHONE 1: User manual’. The unreliable book talks about the specifications of the smartphone with structural mistakes in sentences.

We believe the author (James Omoghosa Abu) is making use of the popularity of the device to reel in readers. He has even published similar books for Samsung’s Galaxy A11 and the Galaxy Tab S8 series.

Anyway, according to the author, the upcoming Nothing Phone (1) will feature an AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate, HDR10+ standard, and sRGB/DCI-P3 color gamuts. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The handset will boot Android 12 and will be backed b a 4,500mAh battery. Last but not least, it will arrive with a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera system and a 32MP selfie camera.

We know none of this is true since the information not only comes from an unreliable source but it also sounds unbelievable. With that being said, what are your expectations of Nothing Phone (1)? Do let us know in the comment section below.
