Nothing has unveiled a new AI-driven feature called Essential Voice for its smartphones, aiming to improve the overall voice typing experience. The update focuses on making dictated text cleaner and easier to read while also adding translation and smart shortcut features. The company has also confirmed the first batch of devices that will receive the feature.

Essential Voice aims to improve voice typing

Essential Voice is designed to go beyond regular speech-to-text tools that often capture pauses, repeated words, and unnecessary fillers. Instead of converting speech exactly as spoken, the system refines sentences in real time to produce more polished text for messages, emails, and quick notes. The feature can be activated through the keyboard or the dedicated Essential Key available on supported Nothing smartphones.

The company says the tool supports more than 100 languages with automatic language detection. Users can also ask the system to instantly translate dictated text into another language while speaking. Another addition is the ability to create personalized shortcuts for commonly used phrases, names, or addresses. For example, saying the name of a favorite restaurant can automatically insert its saved address into the text.

At present, Essential Voice is available for devices like Nothing Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro. It will also arrive for Phone (4a) by early May.

Nothing has also stated that future updates will introduce context-aware suggestions so the feature can adapt depending on whether a user is typing a message, writing a work email, or performing a search.

The company added that audio recordings are encrypted during processing and are not stored permanently on its servers after the text is generated. This approach is aimed at addressing privacy concerns linked to cloud-based voice processing systems.

After months of testing, Nothing has finally started rolling out the stable version of Nothing OS 4.0, based on Android 16. The first phone to receive the latest upgrade is the Nothing Phone 3. The brand has also laid out a roadmap for the remaining devices, which we’ll discuss later in this article.

The Nothing OS 4.0 update for the Nothing Phone 3 is tagged with the firmware version B4.0-251117-1909. Those who have already installed the open beta build should receive a minor update weighing about 700MB, while the remaining users will receive the complete package with a hefty download size of about 3GB.

If you’re rocking a Nothing Phone 3, go to Settings > System > System updates to manually check for updates. Please note that the update isn’t pushed to all users in a single day, so it may take a few days before the update appears on your Nothing device.

Nothing recommends backing up important data before installing the update. Also, keep in mind that the device may temporarily heat up and experience increased battery drain due to excessive background optimizations after installing the update. Everything should get back to normal in just a few days.

While the Nothing OS 4.0 rollout timeline remains vague, the company has announced that the update will reach the rest of its smartphones over the coming weeks. The CMF phones will receive this major upgrade by the end of the year, while the Phone (3a) Lite will follow early next year.

Nothing has started rolling out the Nothing OS V3.5 update (version V3.5-250829-1700) for the Nothing Phone (3). The rollout is phased, so not all users will receive it at the same time.

The update adds new options to the Glyph Interface. Two Glyph Toys, Compass and Feed The Fly, can now be found under Settings. A Glyph Mirror feature has also been added to the Camera app, letting users see a live preview of their shot on the Glyph lights while taking photos or videos. It can be toggled by swiping down in the viewfinder.

The Camera app gets several improvements. A new “Stretch” preset, made with photographer Jordan Hemingway, introduces rich shadows and extended highlights. Responsiveness and image quality during continuous shooting have been improved, and shutter lag has been reduced so photos better match the preview.

Colour consistency has been enhanced across all rear cameras, zoom clarity has been improved between 6x and 60x, and HDR has been tuned for more natural brightness and detail in portraits and other scenes. Video calls on Messenger now show more accurate colours, and video quality in other third-party apps has also been improved.

General fixes and adjustments are part of the update. Vibration intensity for Generative mode ringtones has been modified, and playback issues with these ringtones have been resolved. The Stopwatch toy shutting off unexpectedly has been fixed, along with incorrect WhatsApp notifications on the Glyph Matrix.

Problems with resizing the Photo widget, displaying album covers and metadata in the Media Player widget, and Quick Settings tiles showing out of order have also been corrected. Touch response while playing Minecraft has been improved, and noise during calls has been fixed.

The update also improves overall system stability, Wi-Fi reliability, and includes the September 2025 security patch.

Nothing is giving Indian customers a chance to buy the Nothing Phone (3) before its official release. The company will host a special drop event on July 12 at UB City in Bengaluru. The event starts at 7:00 PM IST and entry will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

At the event, customers will be able to purchase the Phone (3) ahead of its global sale. The first 100 buyers will receive a free Nothing Headphone (1), which is priced at Rs. 21,999. Attendees will also be able to try out the Phone (3) and Headphone (1) at the venue.

The Phone (3) is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and runs on Nothing OS 3.5. It features a 50MP triple rear camera and a 50MP front camera. The phone comes with a 5500 mAh battery, supports 65W fast wired charging, and 15W wireless charging. It is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance (explore more details by clicking here).

The event will include music, lighting, and challenges where participants can win more units of the Headphone (1) and other merchandise. Complimentary refreshments and barista-style coffee in collectible mugs will also be available.

The third iteration of the Nothing Phone is finally here, and it’s already getting torched by users online. Not because it’s outright bad, but because the Nothing Phone (3) tries to play in the flagship space with what many are calling a sub-flagship core. 

It uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 instead of the full-blown Snapdragon 8 Elite, sticks to its niche design aesthetic, and lands with a price tag that puts it head-to-head with some flagship phones. 

Take last year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra for example. It’s currently available for the same price as Phone (3) and offers better hardware specs on almost every front. 

So what’s going on? Is the hate for the Phone (3) justified, or are people being too harsh on Carl Pei’s startup? And how does it really stack up against the S24 Ultra, especially now that both phones can be had for about the same price?

Let’s break it down.

Design

Nothing’s entire identity is built around standing out. The company has never played it safe, and with the Phone (3), it’s pushing even harder to be different. But this time, it might be trying a bit too hard. And the internet isn’t exactly buying it.

The Phone (3) keeps the brand’s signature transparent aesthetic but ditches the clean, symmetrical minimalism that defines Nothing. 

In its place is a bold design with asymmetrical, mismatched camera lenses that vary in shape and size. There’s also a corner-mounted Glyph Matrix display that I feel makes the top look a bit chaotic. It’s different, sure. But is it good different?

When the company introduced Glyph Lights with the Phone (1), it was a novelty in the smartphone space. But it’s clear now that the feature has had very limited real-world use for users. So Nothing had to kill it.

We doubt the Glyph Matrix will fare any better. That’s because it’s a major part of the phone; the highlight feature Nothing is using to sell the Phone (3). This approach is very different from what brands like Asus do with their ROG Phone series, which also has a dot-matrix display on the back.

Asus sells its dot-matrix screen more as a fun visual flair, while Nothing is trying to be far more ambitious with it. And when your entire product pitch leans on something that risks being a gimmick, that’s a dangerous game to play.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra feels like the polar opposite in design philosophy. It has flat edges, a titanium frame, a minimalistic camera housing, and an industrial design that is more palatable for a wide range of users. It’s not trying to be different for the sake of being different. But it’s undeniably high-end, and that alone makes it a status symbol.

Display

Both phones sport excellent OLED displays. The Nothing Phone (3) features a 6.67-inch OLED with HDR10+, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 4500 nits peak brightness. It’s flat, punchy, and easy on the eyes thanks to 2160Hz PWM dimming.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, meanwhile, flexes its 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a QHD+ resolution, LTPO refresh rate scaling, and a DX anti-reflective coating. It’s less bright on paper (2600 nits), but this shouldn’t make any difference in real-world usage. 

Nothing also uses Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i, while Samsung went with Gorilla Glass Victus, which is technically stronger. 

Performance

Here’s where the Nothing Phone (3) really starts to struggle.

At nearly flagship pricing, you’d expect flagship performance. But Nothing opted for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a solid chip, yes, but a tier below Qualcomm’s current best, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite.

By 2025 flagship standards, the Phone (3) should be using the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Galaxy S25 Plus, which costs the same, does.

Even last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the S24 Ultra is better than 8s Gen 4 in terms of raw performance. Additionally, Samsung offers up to seven years of OS updates, whereas Nothing only promises five.

Cameras

On paper, the Phone (3) actually looks competitive. It features a triple 50MP setup, including a periscope telephoto lens and an ultrawide camera. The selfie cam is also a 50MP unit capable of 4K at 60fps. 

The S24 Ultra is in a different league of its own. It comes with a 200MP main sensor, two dedicated telephoto lenses (including a 50MP 5x periscope), and a laser autofocus system. It can also shoot 8K video, and handles stabilization like a seasoned pro.

So while the Phone (3) tries to flex with big megapixel counts, Samsung backs up its camera hardware with years of refinement, better sensors, and more versatility. And most users notice that difference the moment they take pictures side by side.

Battery and Charging

Battery life might be the only area where the Phone (3) keeps pace. It comes with a 5150 mAh cell internationally, and a slightly larger 5500 mAh battery in India. Charging is 65W wired and 15W wireless, with support for reverse charging. Not bad.

The S24 Ultra, meanwhile, sticks to a more standard 5000 mAh battery with 45W wired charging. It’s not as fast as Nothing’s, but it’s efficient enough, and comes with the benefit of better thermal management and lower power draw thanks to Samsung’s display and software tuning.

So Why the Backlash?

Here’s the elephant in the room. The Nothing Phone (3) costs nearly the same as the Galaxy S25 Plus or the S24 Ultra (in its discounted form) from last year. 

You can argue that Nothing is a smaller brand with different priorities. You can even say the design and clean Android skin are worth a premium. But when Samsung is offering its 2024 flagship with more power, better cameras, longer support, and a stylus—for the same money—it’s hard to justify picking the underdog.

Final Thoughts

If you love the design, if you’re into indie brands that take creative risks, and if you just want something that doesn’t look like every other phone, the Nothing Phone (3) still has appeal. It’s unique. It’s well-built. It’s different.

But if you’re looking for the best performance, best camera, best ecosystem, and best long-term value, the S24 Ultra could be a smarter buy.

We will see many mid-range phones, including OnePlus Nord 5, Nord CE 5, Nothing Phone 3, and Oppo Reno 14 series, launching this month, alongside the latest foldables from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. There’s also a new Ai+ smartphone brand releasing in July 2025.

If you’re looking to upgrade to a new smartphone, the wait might be worth it. To give you a clearer picture of what’s to come, we’ve listed all the upcoming devices, along with all the details we know so far.

1. Nothing Phone (3)

Launch date: July 1, 2025 (official)

The Nothing Phone (3) is launching later today. It’s expected to introduce rather significant changes to its rear design. Official-looking renders appeared recently, showing an awkward placement of the rear cameras. While Nothing hasn’t confirmed Phone (3)’s camera setup, it has confirmed that one of the three is a 50MP periscope telephoto unit.

The black circle on the right is for the Glyph Matrix. There’s no iconic Glyph Interface that we are used to seeing in Nothing phones. The brand will likely use the new Glyph Matrix in upcoming high-end phones as well.

The Phone (3) is expected to feature a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 5,150mAh battery with 100W wired and 15W wireless charging support. It’s confirmed to pack the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset for smooth performance. The phone will receive Android updates for five years and security updates for seven years.

2. AI+ Smartphones

Launch date: July 8, 2025 (official)

The new AI+ smartphone brand, led by Realme India’s former CEO, Madhav Sheth, is all set to launch its first smartphones next week. The upcoming phones — AI+ Nova 5G and AI+ — Pulse are designed and built in India and will be exclusively sold through Flipkart.

The smartphones have a starting price of INR 5,000, but this likely includes card discounts as well. We’ll have better clarity about the pricing at the launch. As for the key specs, the phones have a 5,000mAh battery and dual rear cameras led by a 50MP sensor. The phones also feature a microSD slot for up to 1TB of additional storage.

According to a recent leak, the Nova 5G will use a 6nm Unisoc T8200 chipset, while the Pulse 4G will feature a 12nm Unisoc T7250 chipset. Privacy is another key focus of the brand, as it claims all the users’ data stays in India on Google Cloud servers approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY).

3. OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5

OnePlus is also on this month’s list for the launch of Nord 5 and Nord CE 5. The former will be a premium mid-range phone, while the latter is going to be a toned-down version of it.

The brand has confirmed that the Nord 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and will feature a 7,300mm² vapor chamber. It features a vertical camera array on the rear side, housing two sensors. According to recent leaks, it may include a 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. The front side could come with a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor.

Other leaked specs include a 5,200mAh battery with 80W fast charging and a 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate.

The more affordable OnePlus Nord CE 5, on the other hand, is expected to feature a 120Hz AMOLED screen, Dimensity 8350 chipset, 50MP dual rear cameras, a 16MP selfie camera, and a massive 7,100mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.

4. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7

Launch date: July 9, 2025

The next-generation Galaxy foldables will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event scheduled for July 9. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be the showstopper. However, reports say Samsung could also unveil a cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 may come with an 8-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch cover screen. It’s expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. The device is said to feature a triple camera setup, led by a 200MP sensor, and a 4,400mAh battery with 25W charging support.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it’s likely to sport a 6.8-inch inner screen and a 4-inch cover screen. Samsung is expected to ship the device with two chipsets, either with an Exynos 2500 or a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, depending on the market. The device could be equipped with a dual rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. It’s said to have a 4,300mAh battery and 25W fast charging support.

Both foldable phones will likely ship with Android 16-based One UI 8 software out of the box, promising seven years of Android and security updates.

5. Oppo Reno 14 series

Launch date: July 3, 2025

This week, Oppo will announce the Reno 14 series in India. There will be two smartphones: Reno 14 5G and Reno 14 Pro 5G. The Reno series targets the mid-range segment, offering a good blend of performance, price, and features, and the Reno 14 series will be no different.

As for the specs, the Reno 14 Pro is confirmed to have the Dimensity 8450 chipset. It will feature a triple camera setup, comprising a 50MP (OmniVision OV50E) primary camera, a 50MP (Samsung ISOCELL JN5) ultrawide camera with a 116° field of view, and a 50MP (OmniVision OV50D) telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. The Reno 14 will have the same selfie camera but a different rear camera setup, which includes a 50MP (Sony IMX882) primary camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. Other key specs include an AMOLED screen, Dimensity 8350 chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.

6. Realme 15 series

Launch date: mid-July (unofficial)

The Realme 15 series is confirmed to launch soon in India. Although there’s no exact launch date yet, it will most likely be unveiled later this month.

The official teaser reveals that the brand will soon launch the Realme 15 5G and Realme 15 Pro 5G. There will likely be a “Pro+” variant at a later stage. Most of the things about the Realme 14 series are under covers.

The Realme 15 Pro is being positioned as an “AI Party Phone,” suggesting that the device will come with loads of AI features. The official poster also hints at flagship features for the Pro model that were previously exclusive to the Plus line of Realme smartphones.

6. Vivo X Fold 5 and X200 FE

Launch date: mid-July (unofficial)

Vivo X Fold 5 and Vivo X200 FE are officially confirmed to launch soon, most likely this month.

The Vivo X Fold 5 may feature an 8.03-inch LTPO inner screen and a 6.53-inch cover screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s said to be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

The foldable phone could feature a triple camera setup on the rear side, including a 50MP (Sony IMX921) primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP (Sony IMX882) periscope telephoto unit. It’s expected to house a 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 40W wireless charging speeds.

The Vivo X200 FE will likely launch alongside the X Fold 5 sometime this month. Key specs include an LTPO AMOLED panel, Dimensity 9300+ chipset, and a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. The device may feature a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, it will have a 50MP camera.

7. Motorola Moto G96

Launch date: July 9, 2025

The Moto G96 launch is also due for this month. The device features a stylish design and will be offered in four colors: Ashleigh Blue, Greener Pastures, Cattleya Orchid, and Dresden Blue, all with a vegan leather finish.

The Motorola smartphone will feature a 6.67-inch 3D curved pOLED screen with 144Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. The device is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

A dedicated page is already live on Amazon, revealing key details, including a curved screen with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4000 nits.

The smartphone features IP65M water resistance and Honor Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 2.0 with 2m drop resistance. It weighs 189g and has a thickness of 7.98mm. The Honor X9c 5G features a dual-camera setup led by a 108MP primary shooter with OIS support. The brand claims a 3x zoom without any loss of detail. Additionally, the device offers a range of AI-assisted camera features, including AI Eraser, AI OIS Motion Sensing, and AI Night Mode.

The Honor X9c 5G packs a 6,600mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 66W fast charging. It has dual stereo speakers and boots MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15.

The end result is a set of photos that feel overly processed and less natural.

The Nothing Phone (3) just made its unofficial debut in a set of official-looking renders. These confirm that the previously leaked render of the device was indeed fake. Unfortunately, though, the actual design may not be much better. In fact, it looks even more polarizing.

Right off the bat, it’s the camera layout that’s drawing the most attention. The Phone (3) features a triple rear-camera setup consisting of a main, ultrawide, and telephoto sensor.

For some reason, Nothing has placed the telephoto unit (the one on the top) toward the edge of the device. It doesn’t even align with the other two sensors and looks just as off-balance in the render as it sounds.

It’s an unusual placement that breaks the visual symmetry, and not in a particularly elegant way. Also, while Nothing claims to have reduced the camera bump by 74 percent, the main sensor still protrudes enough to be noticeable.

Design-wise, the phone retains the transparent aesthetic Nothing is now known for. Of course, the Glyph Lighting is gone, which is replaced by the new “Glyph Matrix” dot-matrix display in the upper-right corner.

Specs-wise, Nothing has already confirmed a few details. The Phone (3) will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and will receive 5 years of major OS updates and 7 years of security patches.

On the confirmed hardware front, we’re looking at a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and rumors suggest the other two sensors will also be 50MP. The Nothing Phone (3) is shaping up to be the company’s most powerful phone yet, and a new Geekbench listing is adding to the buzz just days before its official debut on July 1. With upgraded performance and a flagship-grade spec sheet, Nothing’s latest may finally put it in the big leagues.

According to a listing, the Phone (3)’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 notched 2,076 in the single-core test and 6,577 in multi-core—solid numbers for a near-flagship processor. Compared to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 used in the Phone (2), Nothing CEO Carl Pei says the new chip brings a 36% boost in CPU performance, 88% in GPU, and 60% in NPU, offering snappier overall performance. According to other reports, the Nothing Phone 3 may feature a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The email reveals the company’s plans for 2025, which includes two unreleased smartphones – the Nothing Phone (3) and another codenamed “landmark”.

Nothing’s vision for 2025

The internal email confirms the development and upcoming launch of the Nothing Phone (3), which promises to bring “breakthrough innovations in the user interface.” According to the CEO, the Phone (3) will mark the brand’s first major step toward integrating AI into its ecosystem, which he talked about in an interview last year.

“2025 will be by far our biggest year yet,” noted Pei in his email. “We’re aiming at redefining the user experience of personal computing devices – creating technology that knows you, makes your life easier, and is present where you are,” he added.

But that’s not all. There is also an indication of a “landmark” smartphone that is set to launch in Q1 2025. Speculations were that it would be an affordable smartphone, or a CMF product.

In addition to the Phone (3), reports claimed that Nothing had more than one device in development. A Phone model number NT04 has shown up on the BIS listing that seems to go live in India soon. Nothing unveiled the Nothing Phone (2) in July 2023, leading to speculation that the Phone (3) will debut in the same month this year. In a video message, Nothing founder and CEO Carl Pei discussed the company’s plans for introducing AI features on its devices and hinted at the Phone (3)’s arrival.

Carl Pei reveals AI integration on Nothing Phone (3)

Carl Pei shared his thoughts on the current state of artificial intelligence and its integration with consumer technology. He acknowledged the significant attention AI has garnered, noting that while some of the developments are impressive, others can be confusing.

Pei emphasized that smartphones would continue to be the primary platform for consumer AI, citing the vast user base of over 4 billion and the annual shipment of more than 1 billion smartphones as evidence of their enduring relevance. He pointed out that the way we use smartphones needs a major overhaul, as the current user experience has remained largely unchanged for over a decade.

He envisions a future where smartphones offer a highly personalized, dynamic, and cross-device interface that fosters a more human connection with technology, making interactions feel more natural and intuitive.

Pei said that for the past two months, the Nothing team has been working on designing and prototyping AI interactions. He shared some initial concepts to illustrate their vision, with plans to introduce these innovations gradually, starting with the Phone (3) next year. So, this seems to be a good hint that the Phone (3) won’t be launching this year.

Since its launch, Nothing has focused on building comprehensive capabilities and has successfully established itself as a notable player in the smartphone industry, being the only company to do so in the past decade. Pei highlighted the company’s commitment to a creative culture that prioritizes exceptional user experiences and thoughtful integration of software and hardware. Nothing has just launched two new hearables, namely Nothing Ear and Ear (a) in markets like the US, Europe, and India. The brand’s next major announcement is likely to be the Nothing Phone (3). The name suggests that it could be a flagship offering similar to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-powered Nothing Phone (2), which made its announcement in July 2023. Here is a look at what to expect from the Phone (3).

Chipset

A recent report claimed that the Nothing Phone (3) will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. It is a relatively new chipset and only a few phones featuring it, such as the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, the Redmi Turbo 3, and the iQOO Z9 Turbo, have been launched in China.

The Redmi Turbo 3 is likely to be rebranded as the Poco F6 in India. There is a possibility that the Z9 Turbo may make it to the Indian market with a different branding. Hence, there is a possibility that the Nothing Phone (3) may rival these phones in India and some other markets. Unfortunately, the other specs of the Phone (3) haven’t surfaced yet.

Price

The Nothing Phone (3) is rumored to be priced between Rs 40,000 (~$480) and Rs 45,000 (~$540) in India. To recall, the Phone (2) was announced with a starting price of Rs 44,999 (~$540) last year.

Launch timeframe

The announcement of the Nothing Phone (2) in July 2023 raises the possibility that the Phone (3) will make its debut around the same time this year. Notably, this year has seen a trend in which phone successors from the previous year launched approximately a month earlier. Therefore, there is a possibility that the Phone (3) could arrive by the end of Q2 this year.

CMF by Nothing’s First Smartphone in Works

CMF, Nothing’s sub-brand that offers affordable devices with a focus on color, material, and finish, is said to be working on its first smartphone. The device is said to have an “A015” model number and “Tetris” codename. India seems to be one of the markets to receive the device as it was recently approved by India’s BIS certification platform.

Now, a new Android Headlines report has revealed the launch timeline of the Nothing Phone (3). As per the report, the Phone (3) is expected to debut sometime in the second quarter of 2024, likely in July. That being said, the report has not mentioned a source, so it’s best to take this launch timeline with a pinch of salt till further conformations.

It is worth mentioning that the Nothing Phone (2) also made its debut in July 2023. So it is likely that the brand could launch its successor at the same time this year. As for the specifications, the Nothing Phone (3) could feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor found on the Phone (2).

This new processor is a cut-down version of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and is designed for mid-range and flagship killer devices. It has a peak clock speed of 3GHz and is capable of reaching north of 1.5 million points on AnTuTu. Additionally, it also has the Qualcomm AI engine for tasks like on-device image generation.

Other than the processor, we also expect improvements in other areas like the battery life and fast charging. More details are expected to emerge as we get closer to the alleged launch window, so stay tuned.

Brand Nothing recently released a teaser of the upcoming Nothing Ear (3) TWS earbuds. It appears that this is not the only product in the works. According to a report by 91mobiles Hindi, the company is now working on the Phone 3 equipped with a new Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Continue reading ahead to learn the first details of the Phone 3.

Nothing Phone 3 chipset revealed (rumored)

The publication has learnt from industry sources that the Nothing Phone 3 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This chip was first seen powering the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, which made its debut last month in China.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is speculated to power a couple of other smartphones in China, such as the Redmi Turbo 3, the Realme GT Neo 6, and the iQOO Z9 Turbo. It is unclear whether these iQOO and Realme phones will be released in the global market. What’s known is that the Redmi Turbo 3 will be rebranded as the Poco F6 in markets outside of China.

Hence, it seems that the Nothing Phone 3 will face competition from the Poco F6 in the global market. Unfortunately, the first leak about the Phone 3 only reveals its chipset and has no information about its other specs.

However, according to the report, the Nothing Phone 3 will cost between Rs 40,000 (~$480) and Rs 45,000 (~$540) in India. Shown above is a recent teaser from the brand featuring a frog. To recall, the teasers for Phone 1 and Phone 2 included a pear and an octopus, respectively. It is likely that the Phone 3’s teasers may feature a frog. As far as the launch is concerned, the Phone 3 may break cover in July.
