About a week ago, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/26/huawei-nova-8-se-full-specs-leaked-nova-8-series-and-honor-v40-tipped-to-launch-in-november/">spec sheet of the smartphone was leaked along with a render that showed us what the phone will look like</a>. Now, an official poster was released yesterday and it confirms some of these details and also the phone&#8217;s design.</p>
<p>The Nova 8 SE will have a 6.53-inch FHD+ OLED display with a waterdrop notch. The image of the phone show it will come in blue and gradient white color variants and the rear will have four cameras arranged in a protruding squircle.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-351671 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE.jpg?x10805" alt="Nova 8 SE" width="600" height="987" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE-182x300.jpg 182w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE-255x420.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The main sensor on the back of the phone is a 64MP camera according to the info on the poster while leaks have revealed that it is paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and two 2MP sensors.</p>
<p>Another key info the poster reveals is that the phone will support 66W fast wired charging just like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40-pro/">Mate 40 Pro</a>. This means the Nova 8 SE will charge faster than the standard <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40/">Mate 40</a> which supports 40W fast wired charging. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p>The poster also states that pre-sale for the Nova 8 SE will begin in three days&#8217; time which means interested buyers will be able to pre-order a unit starting on Thursday, November 5.</p>
<p>Huawei is yet to officially announce a launch date for the phone but it should not be too far from the pre-sale date.</p>

Both phones are believed to the Nova 8 series smartphones. At present, the listings showing the full specs of both phones have not appeared at TENAA yet. The JSC-AN00 has today emerged on Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing suggests that it could be the Huawei Nova 8 SE phone.</p>
<p>The JSC-AN00’s Geekbench appearance (via <em><a href="https://www.nashvillechatterclass.com/huawei-nova-8-se-jsc-an00-with-dimensity-720-and-8gb-ram-spotted-on-geekbench/49703/">NashvilleChatterClass</a>) </em>reveals that it is powered by MediaTek MT6853V (Dimensity 720) chipset that has a base frequency of 2GHz. <p><strong>Original story continues&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>In the previous week, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> held a global launch event to unleash the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40">Huawei Mate 40</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40-pro/">Mate 40 Pro</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40-pro-plus">Mate 40 Pro+,</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40-rs-porsche-design/">Mate 40 RS Porsche Design</a> flagship phones. There will be a dedicated launch event for the Mate 40 series in China on Oct. 30. There are speculations that the Nova 8 series <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/19/huawei-nova-8-series-likely-to-launch-in-november/">will break cover at some point in November</a>. Over the weekend, a tipster from China <a href="https://weibo.com/1417975257/Jqx4PA4wD?from=page_1005051417975257_profile&amp;wvr=6&amp;mod=weibotime">claimed</a> that not only the Nova 8 lineup but also the Honor V40 flagship series will be announced in the coming month. Also, a reliable leakster from China <a href="https://www.weibo.com/6048569942/JqW2XlLYA?from=page_1005056048569942_profile&amp;wvr=6&amp;mod=weibotime">shared</a> the full specifications of the Nova 8 SE smartphone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-350104" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-and-Honor-V40-November-launch-leak.png?x10805" alt="Huawei Nova 8 SE and Honor V40 November launch leak" width="721" height="356" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-and-Honor-V40-November-launch-leak.png 721w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-and-Honor-V40-November-launch-leak-300x148.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-and-Honor-V40-November-launch-leak-324x160.png 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-and-Honor-V40-November-launch-leak-696x344.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px" /></p>
<p>Previous leaks have revealed that the Nova 8 family includes three handsets such as the Nova 8 SE, Nova 8, and Nova 8 Pro. There is less information available about the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/14/honor-v40-series-first-teaser-emerges-fuelling-speculations-of-impending-launch/">Honor V40 series</a> at present. Last year, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had announced the Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro smartphones in November. Hence, there is a possibility that the company may announce the Honor V40 and Honor V40 Pro as successor models next month.</p>

<p>The alleged Nova 8 Pro can be seen sporting a similar display design. However, there are some elements that suggest that the handset that has appeared is not the Mate 40 Pro. First, the curved edges of the smartphone in the leaked shots are not as curvy as the waterfall screen that will be available on the Mate 40 Pro. Also, the top edge of the phone seems to be fitted with an earpiece, which the Mate 40 Pro is unlikely to feature.</p>
<p>Recent reports have revealed that the Huawei Nova 8 Pro will come with specs like 120Hz OLED screen and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity+1000+5g">Dimensity 1000+</a> 5G chipset. It is likely to be priced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/24/leak-reveals-nova-8-and-nova-8-pro-chipsets-and-price-tags/">at 3,999 Yuan (~$585).</a></p>
<p>The Huawei Nova 8 may come with a 90Hz display and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity+820">Dimensity 820</a>. The device could be priced at 3,299 Yuan (~$483). The Nova 8 SE with specs like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity+800">Dimensity 800</a>, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage could be coming with 2,799 Yuan (~$410).</p>

In December last year, the company had announced Nova 6 series. Hence, it is speculated that after the Mate 40 series of flagship phones that may go official this month or in October, the Chinese firm may announce the Nova series by the end of the year. A <a href="https://www.weibo.com/5609829195/JiWaSa7G8?from=page_1005055609829195_profile&amp;wvr=6&amp;mod=weibotime">tipster</a> from China has shared speculated information on the Nova 8 series.</p>
<p>The tipster claimed that the Huawei Nova 8 series will have three models. The Nova 8 SE could be equipped with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-800">Dimensity 800</a> chipset. The Nova 8 SE and Nova 8 Pro could be featuring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-800u">Dimensity 800U</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-1000-plus">Dimensity 1000+</a> chipset, respectively.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-340581" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-Leak.png?x10805" alt="Huawei Nova 8 Series Leak" width="924" height="522" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-Leak.png 924w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-Leak-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-Leak-768x434.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-Leak-696x393.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-Leak-743x420.png 743w" sizes="(max-width: 924px) 100vw, 924px" /></p>

<p>The Huawei Nova 7 series was driven by chipsets like Kirin 810, Kirin 820, and Kirin 985. However, it appears that due to the recent revision in the trade ban, the upcoming Nova 8 series may not feature chipsets. This could be the reason why recently announced phones such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/03/huawei-enjoy-20-enjoy-20-plus-5g-launched-in-china-specifications-features-and-price/">the Enjoy 20 5G and Enjoy 20 Plus 5G</a> are fueled by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-720">Dimensity 720</a> SoC.</p>
<figure id="attachment_318929" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-318929" style="width: 1024px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-318929" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Huawei-nova-7-Pro-5G.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei nova 7 Pro 5G" width="1024" height="852" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Huawei-nova-7-Pro-5G.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Huawei-nova-7-Pro-5G-300x250.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Huawei-nova-7-Pro-5G-768x639.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Huawei-nova-7-Pro-5G-696x579.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Huawei-nova-7-Pro-5G-505x420.jpg 505w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-318929" class="wp-caption-text">Huawei nova 7 Pro 5G</figcaption></figure>
<p>The leakster has speculated on the pricing of the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage versions of the Nova 8 SE, Nova 8, and Nova 8 Pro. These variants could be priced at 2,799 Yuan (~$409), 3,299 Yuan (~$482), and 3,999 Yuan (~$585). There is no official on the arrival of the Nova 8 series from Huawei since it currently focused on the launch of the Mate 40 series of flagship phones.</p>
