<p>This leak corroborates the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/14/alleged-huawei-nova-8-series-specs-leaked-online/">early report on specifications</a> which said Nova 8 will have a 90Hz OLED screen with 1 billion colors. Anyway, a new report by ITHome <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/525/053.htm">shares</a> additional images of the Nova 8. It shows the rear of Nova 8 having a Green color with an oval-shaped camera module.</p>

<p>Earlier today, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/16/leaked-render-gives-closer-look-at-nova-8-pros-rear-cameras-details-emerge/">leaked render</a> showed a similar module that goes well with this leak. The module has an LED flashlight and four sensors out of which the first one is pretty large. As you can see below, it has a white ring around it, and &#8220;AI QUAD CAMERA&#8221;, &#8220;ULTRA HD SENSOR&#8221; slogans surround it. Also, there is a &#8216;nova&#8217; branding and Huawei logo at the bottom.</p>

<h4><strong>Nova 8, 8 Pro Camera Specifications(Expected)</strong></h4>
<p>Besides, the tipster says that the punch-hole on Nova 8 is about 4mm and the same as that of <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40">Huawei Mate40</a>. However, the difference here is the punch-hole is moved to the center instead of the top-left position on the latter. Plus, it also confirms that Nova 8 series will have two devices.</p>
<p>This is because the previously leaked poster showed a device with a dual punch-hole screen which is likely Nova 8 Pro with dual cameras. Speaking of which, the Nova 8 series&#8217; <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/16/leaked-render-gives-closer-look-at-nova-8-pros-rear-cameras-details-emerge/">camera specifications will almost be similar</a> unlike the predecessor, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-7">Nova 7</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-7-pro">7 Pro</a>. At the back, both the devices will have a 64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, two 2MP sensors(likely macro, depth).</p>
<p>On the other hand, the Nova8 will have a single 32MP selfie shooter whereas the Nova 8 Pro will have dual 32MP and 16MP sensors. Other alleged specifications include a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-985">Kirin 985 SoC</a>, 66W <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/supercharge">SuperCharge</a> technology, and a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/05/huawei-nova-8-and-nova-8-plus-pricing-and-release-date-leaked/">rumored starting price</a> of 3,000 yuan($458) for Nova 8, and 4,000 yuan($611) for 8 Pro. Let&#8217;s wait for the official launch to know more.</p>

<p>The new leak claims that the camera setup includes a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel lens, and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras, probably for macro shots and adding depth effects. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-8-se">Huawei Nova 8 SE</a> that debuted last month came with the same camera setup. A <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/14/alleged-huawei-nova-8-series-specs-leaked-online/">recent leak</a> had revealed that the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro will have an identical camera setup.</p>
<p>The predecessor <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-7">Huawei Nova 7</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-7-pro">Nova 7 Pro</a> smartphones came with different cameras. The Nova 7 came with a quad-camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the other side, the quad-camera setup of the Nova 7 Pro featured a 64-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, an 8-megaipxel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. It can be assumed based on recent reports that all the phones in the Nova 8 series may carry identical camera setup.</p>

While Huawei has already teased the design of the phone with a poster announcing its launch date, two photos that have surfaced on Weibo are the ones that give us our best look at the smartphone and its unique rear camera design.</p>
<p>The poster shows that the Nova 8 (or Nova 8 Pro) will have a curved display with a double punch hole for two front-facing cameras. The curved screen has caused the power and volume buttons to be close to the back of the phone in a fashion similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40/">Mate 40</a>.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/nova-8-poster-a/'><img width="690" height="920" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-a.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-full size-full" alt="Nova 8 poster" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-a.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-a-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-a-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/nova-8-poster-b/'><img width="690" height="661" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-b.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-full size-full" alt="Nova 8 poster" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-b.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-b-300x287.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-poster-b-438x420.jpg 438w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a>

<p>The rear of the phone is the more interesting part of the phone&#8217;s appearance with its large camera housing that is shaped like a really big pill. There is a single large sensor at the top and below it are four holes that house other cameras and an LED flash.</p>
<p>The poster confirms that the phone will have a 120Hz refresh rate and also have support for 66W fast charging. Another feature it says the phone has is a Vlog Mode that allows the user to record from both the front and rear cameras at the same time.</p>
<p>A tweet by Teme (@RODENT950) says the primary camera is a 64MP sensor and it will be paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, and two 2MP sensors which should be for capturing the depth of field details and macro photography.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359992" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1080" height="884" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch--300x246.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch--768x629.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch--1024x838.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch--696x570.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch--1068x874.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch--513x420.jpg 513w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>Tipster Digital Chat Station(via <a href="https://news.mydrivers.com/1/729/729551.htm">Mydrivers</a>) has shared the supposed specifications of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-nova-8">Huawei Nova 8</a> and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-nova-8-pro">8 Pro</a>. To get things out of the way, he says that the images are for reference only. Anyway, the leak says that both the devices will retain the same <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-985">Kirin 985 SoC</a> from predecessor.</p>
<p>For the unaware, Huawei <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/23/huawei-nova-7-pro-5g-nova-7-se-5g-nova-7-5g-launched/">launched the Nova 7 series</a> in April and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/15/honor-30-honor-30-pro-pro-launched-with-kirin-990-40w-charging-periscope-cameras/">Honor 30 series</a> back in April. Both the series have the same SoC which is a slightly cut-down version of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-990">Kirin 990 flagship SoC</a>. Now, we aren&#8217;t sure how this would be possible considering early reports which say that the company&#8217;s Kirin SoC devices <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/17/huawei-phones-kirin-soc-sold-at-high-prices/">have been selling at high prices</a> due to chipset shortage.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-360144" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/nova-8-series-specs.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="892" height="432" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/nova-8-series-specs.jpg 892w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/nova-8-series-specs-300x145.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/nova-8-series-specs-768x372.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/nova-8-series-specs-696x337.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/nova-8-series-specs-867x420.jpg 867w" sizes="(max-width: 892px) 100vw, 892px" /></p>
<p>This is due to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/17/us-reinforces-restrictions-on-huaweis-access-to-chips-and-other-tech/">US ban</a> that effectively stops Huawei from producing its own Kirin SoC. Anyway, if it lands on Nova 8 series, one of the reasons could be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/26/huawei-survival-mode-suppliers-beat-us-deadline/">result of a survival mode</a>. The company had to stock SoCs for the future before the US ban deadline arrived.</p>
<h4><strong>Huawei Nova 8, 8 Pro Specifications(Rumored)</strong></h4>
<p>Anyway, the spec sheet says that Huawei Nova 8 will have a 3D hyperboloid Glass design and a thickness of 7.64mm. It will likely feature a 90Hz <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OLED">OLED</a> curved screen with 1 billion colors. For cameras, it will have a quad-camera setup(same on 8 Pro) with a 64MP main sensor. Other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide, two 2MP macro and depth sensors. Upfront, it will have a 32MP selfie shooter.</p>
<p>The Nova 8 Pro, on the other hand, will have an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/25/huawei-nova-8-pro-live-shots-appear-to-reveal-front-design/">ultra-curved screen</a>(80° curvature) with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1 billion colors as per the leak. However, compared to non-Pro, this will have a 32MP and a 16MP dual selfie cameras. Apparently, it has features like vlog mode, front&amp; rear dual-scene recording. It is worth noting that official teasers confirm the earlier report on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/12/huawei-nova-8-honor-v40-arriving-in-december-camera-design-revealed/">oval-shaped camera layout</a> for the Nova 8.</p>
<p>That said, both the devices are said to feature the Huawei 66W <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/supercharge">SuperCharge</a> technology. Further, Nova 8 and 8 Pro will have 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage options. Regarding the price, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/05/huawei-nova-8-and-nova-8-plus-pricing-and-release-date-leaked/">rumors say</a> that Nova 8 will start at 3,000 yuan($458), while the Nova 8 Pro will begin at 4,000 yuan($611). Let&#8217;s wait and see if these specs turn out to be true.</p>

It can be said based on recent reports that the Chinese brand will announce the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro phones through the upcoming unveil event. While the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-8-se">Huawei Nova 8 SE</a> debuted last month as a budget-friendly 5G phone from the brand, the forthcoming Nova 8 could be an upper mid-range phone and the Nova 8 Pro could be a flagship device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359991" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Nova 8 Series December 23 Launch" width="1080" height="1919" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-696x1237.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-1068x1898.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Huawei-Nova-8-Series-December-23-Launch-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>The poster released by the brand has a silhouette of Nova 8’s back panel. It shows that the handset is equipped with an oval-shaped camera housing. This reminds us of a leaked schematic from last month that revealed that the Nova 8’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/12/huawei-nova-8-honor-v40-arriving-in-december-camera-design-revealed/">oval-shaped camera module</a> could be housing four or five cameras.</p>

<p>The front design of the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro is yet to be officially confirmed by the brand. There are speculations that the Nova 8 could be featuring a flat-screen with a dual punch-hole design, whereas the Nova 8 Pro’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/25/huawei-nova-8-pro-live-shots-appear-to-reveal-front-design/">dual punch-hole display may have curved edges</a>. Both phones are also rumored to support high refresh rates.</p>
<p>Ideally, the Nova 8 Pro should be powered by a Kirin flagship such as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000">Kirin 9000</a> or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000e">Kirin 9000E</a>. It is already known that Huawei is unable to use Kirin chipsets due to the ongoing US ban. Hence, it is unclear whether the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro will be equipped with Kirin or Dimensity chipset.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/11/huawei-nova-8-8-pro-enjoy-20-se-watch-fit-likely-to-debut-on-december-23-in-china/">A recent leak</a> had revealed that the Dec. 23 launch event will see the arrival of two other devices such as the Huawei Enjoy 20 SE and Huawei Watch Fit. The latter will be a dedicated launch for China since it has already gone official in global markets. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/05/huawei-nova-8-and-nova-8-plus-pricing-and-release-date-leaked/">Rumors have it</a> that the Nova 8 may begin at 3,000 Yuan (~$459), and its Pro sibling could carry a starting price of 4,000 Yuan (~$612).</p>

Today, another well-known leakster from China posted on Weibo that Huawei will not only launch Nova 8 series smartphones but also other products on the said date.</p>
<p>In November, Huawei unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-8-se">Huawei Nova 8 SE</a> in Dimensity 720 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-800U">Dimensity 800U</a> chipset variants. It is unclear which chipsets will be powering the Nova 8 and 8 Pro smartphones. The new leak reveals that the company will also take off covers from the Huawei Enjoy 20 SE smartphone and the Huawei Watch Fit.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-359603" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-8-Pro-December-23-launch-leak.png?x10805" alt="Nova 8 , 8 Pro December 23 launch leak" width="928" height="175" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-8-Pro-December-23-launch-leak.png 928w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-8-Pro-December-23-launch-leak-300x57.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-8-Pro-December-23-launch-leak-768x145.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Nova-8-8-Pro-December-23-launch-leak-696x131.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 928px) 100vw, 928px" /></p>

<p>The Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro are speculated to sport a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/27/huawei-nova-8-series-phone-receives-3c-certification-reveals-66w-fast-charging-support/">dual punch-hole display design</a>. Both phones are expected to sport high refresh rates. The vanilla model may feature a flat-screen, whereas the display of the Pro model may have curved edges. There is a possibility that the Nova 8 Pro could be driven by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000">Kirin 9000</a> flagship chipset. These phones arrive with respective starting prices of 3,000 Yuan (~$459) and 4,000 Yuan (~$611).</p>
<p>Nothing much is known about the Huawei Enjoy 20 SE smartphone. The moniker suggests that it will be positioned lower than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-720">Dimensity 720</a> powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-enjoy-20-5g">Enjoy 20 5G</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-339423" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/huawei-watch-fit-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Watch Fit" width="993" height="501" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/huawei-watch-fit-2.jpg 993w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/huawei-watch-fit-2-300x151.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/huawei-watch-fit-2-768x387.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/huawei-watch-fit-2-696x351.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/huawei-watch-fit-2-832x420.jpg 832w" sizes="(max-width: 993px) 100vw, 993px" /></p>
<p>While the company launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/28/huawei-watch-fit-with-an-amoled-display-aod-heart-rate-monitor-launched-for-110/">Huawei Watch Fit</a> globally in September, it is yet to be land in the home market. Hence, it appears that the same Watch Fit may land in China on Dec. 23 along with other products. The key features of the Watch Fit include a 1.54-inch AMOLED display, 10-day battery life, and 12 kinds of workout modes. The Watch Fit bears resemblance to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/04/honor-watch-gs-pro-and-honor-watch-es-launch-in-europe-for-e249-99-and-e99-99-respectively/">Honor Watch ES</a>, but the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/05/key-difference-between-honor-watch-es-the-huawei-watch-fit/">major difference</a> between the two is that the Huawei model has built-in GPS.</p>

Now, an official poster was released yesterday and it confirms some of these details and also the phone&#8217;s design.</p>
<p>The Nova 8 SE will have a 6.53-inch FHD+ OLED display with a waterdrop notch. The image of the phone show it will come in blue and gradient white color variants and the rear will have four cameras arranged in a protruding squircle.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-351671 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE.jpg?x10805" alt="Nova 8 SE" width="600" height="987" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE-182x300.jpg 182w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Nova-8-SE-255x420.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The main sensor on the back of the phone is a 64MP camera according to the info on the poster while leaks have revealed that it is paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and two 2MP sensors.</p>
<p>Another key info the poster reveals is that the phone will support 66W fast wired charging just like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40-pro/">Mate 40 Pro</a>. This means the Nova 8 SE will charge faster than the standard <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40/">Mate 40</a> which supports 40W fast wired charging. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p>The poster also states that pre-sale for the Nova 8 SE will begin in three days&#8217; time which means interested buyers will be able to pre-order a unit starting on Thursday, November 5.</p>
<p>Huawei is yet to officially announce a launch date for the phone but it should not be too far from the pre-sale date.</p>

The three phones that will be a part of the Nova 8 series include Nova 8 SE, Nova 8, and Nova 8 Pro. Today, one of these phones appeared in the database of the 3C authority of China.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/24/huawei-nova8-series-huawei-mate-x2-certified-by-tenaa/">In September</a>, two Huawei phones with JSC-AN00 / JSC-TN00 and HJC-AN00 / HJC-TN00 model numbers were certified by China’s MIIT authority. The JSC-AN00 / TN00 phone has now received 3C certification. The 3C listing shows that the device could be shipping with a charger that has an &#8220;HW-110600C00&#8221; model number with up to 66W fast charging.</p>

<p>It is the same charger that Huawei offers with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-40">Mate 40</a> models. It is unclear which of the three Nova 8 series phones have the JSC-AN00 / JSC-TN00 model number. However, speculations claim that it could either be the Nova 8 or Nova 8 Pro smartphone.</p>

The tipster claimed that the Nova 8 series and Honor V40 phones are also equipped with the same 66W charger.</p>
<p>He said that these devices will have a high refresh rate supporting a 6.72-inch dual punch-hole display with curved edges supplied by BOE or Visionox. He added that these devices could be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000">Kirin 9000</a> series. Since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/26/huawei-nova-8-se-full-specs-leaked-nova-8-series-and-honor-v40-tipped-to-launch-in-november/">yesterday’s leak revealed</a> that the Nova 8 SE has a waterdrop notch display and Dimensity 720 / 800U chipset, it appears that the JSC-AN00 / TN00 model number does not belong to it.</p>
<p>The Nova 8 series from Huawei is expected to rival the upcoming Vivo X60 lineup and OPPO Reno5 series in China.</p>

Back in August, reputed leaker Evan Blass revealed the devices in the series to be called “</span><b>Jessica</b><span style="font-weight: 400">” as well as “</span><b>Barbie</b><span style="font-weight: 400">”. Anyway, he did not straight up mention these codenames to be of nova8 series as he simply called them to be for next-gen nova series. That said, the smartphone associated with the latter codename is still a mystery.</span></p>

The same source revealed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/04/huawei-nova-8-series-could-be-powered-by-dimensity-chipsets/">chipset and price of one of the models, the Nova 8 SE</a>. He has now disclosed the chipsets and price tags of the other two models in the series which will launch as the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro.</p>
<p>According to the post made on Weibo, the leaker, Really Asen Jun, revealed that the Huawei Nova 8 will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/18/mediatek-announces-dimensity-820-chipset-for-affordable-5g-devices/">Dimensity 820</a> processor. The post reveals that the chipset is currently exclusive to <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/redmi">Redmi</a> but the exclusivity period ends in December. Other details of the Nova 8 mentioned include a 90Hz OLED display that will be supplied by Visionox or Tianma and a starting price of ¥3299 (~$484).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-344156" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Nova-8-and-Nova-8-Pro-specs.jpg?x10805" alt="Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro specs" width="632" height="365" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Nova-8-and-Nova-8-Pro-specs.jpg 632w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Nova-8-and-Nova-8-Pro-specs-300x173.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px" /></p>
<p>For the Nova 8 Pro, the phone is said to be powered by the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-1000-plus">Dimensity 1000+</a>. It will also have an OLED display but with a 120Hz refresh rate. The supplier for the display will be either <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/visionox">Visionox</a> or <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Tianma">Tianma</a>. With respect to price, the Nova 8 Pro will have a starting price of ¥3999 (~$587).</p>
<p>It is no surprise that Huawei&#8217;s upcoming Nova 8 phones are powered by <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek">MediaTek</a> processors, unlike their predecessors that are powered by Kirin chipsets. The US ban has stifled Huawei&#8217;s HiSilicon chip business.</p>

In December last year, the company had announced Nova 6 series. Hence, it is speculated that after the Mate 40 series of flagship phones that may go official this month or in October, the Chinese firm may announce the Nova series by the end of the year. A <a href="https://www.weibo.com/5609829195/JiWaSa7G8?from=page_1005055609829195_profile&amp;wvr=6&amp;mod=weibotime">tipster</a> from China has shared speculated information on the Nova 8 series.</p>
<p>The tipster claimed that the Huawei Nova 8 series will have three models. The Nova 8 SE could be equipped with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-800">Dimensity 800</a> chipset. The Nova 8 SE and Nova 8 Pro could be featuring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-800u">Dimensity 800U</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-1000-plus">Dimensity 1000+</a> chipset, respectively.</p>

<h4 style="text-align: center"><strong><div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;">Editor&#8217;s Pick:  <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/03/huawei-investment-hisilicon-can-help-kirin-chips/">Huawei Chairman: Continued investment in HiSilicon can help Kirin chips in this crisis</a></div></div></strong></h4>
<p>The Huawei Nova 7 series was driven by chipsets like Kirin 810, Kirin 820, and Kirin 985. However, it appears that due to the recent revision in the trade ban, the upcoming Nova 8 series may not feature chipsets. This could be the reason why recently announced phones such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/03/huawei-enjoy-20-enjoy-20-plus-5g-launched-in-china-specifications-features-and-price/">the Enjoy 20 5G and Enjoy 20 Plus 5G</a> are fueled by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-720">Dimensity 720</a> SoC.</p>

<p>The leakster has speculated on the pricing of the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage versions of the Nova 8 SE, Nova 8, and Nova 8 Pro. These variants could be priced at 2,799 Yuan (~$409), 3,299 Yuan (~$482), and 3,999 Yuan (~$585). There is no official on the arrival of the Nova 8 series from Huawei since it currently focused on the launch of the Mate 40 series of flagship phones.</p>
