Now, the company has announced the Huawei Nova 8 with Kirin 820E chip in Russia. Here is all the information on the specifications and features of the Nova 8’s global edition:

The two Nova 8 models offer users with up to 120Hz refresh rate display, Kirin 985, 64MP quad cameras, 66W charging, and many other exciting features.

The Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 are equipped with 6.57-inch and 6.72-inch OLED panels, respectively. The Nova 8 supports 1080 x 2340 pixel Full HD+ resolution, up to 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. On the other side, the Nova 8 Pro supports 1236 x 2676 FHD+ resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and 300Hz touch sampling rate. It supports a custom resolution of 2676 x 1236 pixels, a 10-bit color depth, and a 120Hz refresh. The edges of the screen have an 80-degree curvature. Ever since the Huawei Nova 8 launch date was announced, we have been coming across a lot of leaks. In the run-up to the December 23 event, it looks like everything about the device will probably be revealed. A recent leak shares the real-life images of the Nova 8 non-Pro in Green color.

As reported by ITHome, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the real-life image of the Huawei Nova 8 smartphone. Accordingly, the Nova 8 will have a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED display. The display will have a refresh rate of 90Hz and probably a 2560×1080 pixel resolution. Interestingly, a live image shared by him shows a single punch-hole screen.

This leak corroborates the early report on specifications which said Nova 8 will have a 90Hz OLED screen with 1 billion colors. Anyway, a new report by ITHome shares additional images of the Nova 8. It shows the rear of Nova 8 having a Green color with an oval-shaped camera module.

Earlier today, a leaked render showed a similar module that goes well with this leak. The module has an LED flashlight and four sensors out of which the first one is pretty large. As you can see below, it has a white ring around it, and “AI QUAD CAMERA”, “ULTRA HD SENSOR” slogans surround it. Also, there is a ‘nova’ branding and Huawei logo at the bottom.

Nova 8, 8 Pro Camera Specifications(Expected)

Besides, the tipster says that the punch-hole on Nova 8 is about 4mm and the same as that of Huawei Mate40. However, the difference here is the punch-hole is moved to the center instead of the top-left position on the latter. Plus, it also confirms that Nova 8 series will have two devices.

This is because the previously leaked poster showed a device with a dual punch-hole screen which is likely Nova 8 Pro with dual cameras. Speaking of which, the Nova 8 series’ camera specifications will almost be similar unlike the predecessor, Nova 7 and 7 Pro. At the back, both the devices will have a 64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, two 2MP sensors(likely macro, depth).

On the other hand, the Nova8 will have a single 32MP selfie shooter whereas the Nova 8 Pro will have dual 32MP and 16MP sensors. Other alleged specifications include a Kirin 985 SoC, 66W SuperCharge technology, and a rumored starting price of 3,000 yuan($458) for Nova 8, and 4,000 yuan($611) for 8 Pro. The Nova 8 is a new Huawei phone scheduled to launch on December 23. While Huawei has already teased the design of the phone with a poster announcing its launch date, two photos that have surfaced on Weibo are the ones that give us our best look at the smartphone and its unique rear camera design.

The poster shows that the Nova 8 (or Nova 8 Pro) will have a curved display with a double punch hole for two front-facing cameras. The curved screen has caused the power and volume buttons to be close to the back of the phone in a fashion similar to the Mate 40.

The rear of the phone is the more interesting part of the phone’s appearance with its large camera housing that is shaped like a really big pill. There is a single large sensor at the top and below it are four holes that house other cameras and an LED flash.

The poster confirms that the phone will have a 120Hz refresh rate and also have support for 66W fast charging. Another feature it says the phone has is a Vlog Mode that allows the user to record from both the front and rear cameras at the same time.

A second photo which was also posted by Digital Chat Station on Weibo shows a brand ambassador holding the gradient pink variant of the phone. The image shows that there is a Nova logo at the bottom of the screen.

Earlier today, Huawei confirmed that it will unveil the Nova 8 in China on December 23. While the official poster only has a silhouette of one smartphone, it is expected to reveal Nova 8, Nova 8 Pro. And now, the specs of both of the two devices have been leaked.

Tipster Digital Chat Station(via Mydrivers) has shared the supposed specifications of the Huawei Nova 8 and 8 Pro. To get things out of the way, he says that the images are for reference only. Anyway, the leak says that both the devices will retain the same Kirin 985 SoC from predecessor.

For the unaware, Huawei launched the Nova 7 series in April and Honor 30 series back in April. Both the series have the same SoC which is a slightly cut-down version of the Kirin 990 flagship SoC. Now, we aren’t sure how this would be possible considering early reports which say that the company’s Kirin SoC devices have been selling at high prices due to chipset shortage.

This is due to the US ban that effectively stops Huawei from producing its own Kirin SoC. Anyway, if it lands on Nova 8 series, one of the reasons could be the result of a survival mode. The company had to stock SoCs for the future before the US ban deadline arrived.

Anyway, the spec sheet says that Huawei Nova 8 will have a 3D hyperboloid Glass design and a thickness of 7.64mm. It will likely feature a 90Hz OLED curved screen with 1 billion colors. For cameras, it will have a quad-camera setup(same on 8 Pro) with a 64MP main sensor. Other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide, two 2MP macro and depth sensors. Upfront, it will have a 32MP selfie shooter.

The Nova 8 Pro, on the other hand, will have an ultra-curved screen(80° curvature) with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1 billion colors as per the leak. However, compared to non-Pro, this will have a 32MP and a 16MP dual selfie cameras. Apparently, it has features like vlog mode, front& rear dual-scene recording. It is worth noting that official teasers confirm the earlier report on the oval-shaped camera layout for the Nova 8.

That said, both the devices are said to feature the Huawei 66W SuperCharge technology. Further, Nova 8 and 8 Pro will have 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage options. The Nova 8 SE is the first of the Nova 8 series smartphones scheduled to launch soon. About a week ago, the spec sheet of the smartphone was leaked along with a render that showed us what the phone will look like. Now, an official poster was released yesterday and it confirms some of these details and also the phone’s design.

The Nova 8 SE will have a 6.53-inch FHD+ OLED display with a waterdrop notch. The image of the phone show it will come in blue and gradient white color variants and the rear will have four cameras arranged in a protruding squircle.

The main sensor on the back of the phone is a 64MP camera according to the info on the poster while leaks have revealed that it is paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and two 2MP sensors.

Another key info the poster reveals is that the phone will support 66W fast wired charging just like the Mate 40 Pro. This means the Nova 8 SE will charge faster than the standard Mate 40 which supports 40W fast wired charging. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The poster also states that pre-sale for the Nova 8 SE will begin in three days’ time which means interested buyers will be able to pre-order a unit starting on Thursday, November 5.

Huawei is yet to officially announce a launch date for the phone but it should not be too far from the pre-sale date.

Recent reports have revealed that Huawei will be announcing the Huawei Nova 8 SE smartphone in November. The three phones that will be a part of the Nova 8 series include Nova 8 SE, Nova 8, and Nova 8 Pro. Today, one of these phones appeared in the database of the 3C authority of China.

In September, two Huawei phones with JSC-AN00 / JSC-TN00 and HJC-AN00 / HJC-TN00 model numbers were certified by China’s MIIT authority. The JSC-AN00 / TN00 phone has now received 3C certification. The 3C listing shows that the device could be shipping with a charger that has an “HW-110600C00” model number with up to 66W fast charging.

It is the same charger that Huawei offers with the Mate 40 models. It is unclear which of the three Nova 8 series phones have the JSC-AN00 / JSC-TN00 model number. However, speculations claim that it could either be the Nova 8 or Nova 8 Pro smartphone.

A Chinese tipster revealed that YOR-AN00 / TN00, YOR-AN10 / TN10, YOR-AN00S, and YOR-N49 model numbers belong to the Honor V40 series of flagship phones. The tipster claimed that the Nova 8 series and Honor V40 phones are also equipped with the same 66W charger.

He said that these devices will have a high refresh rate supporting a 6.72-inch dual punch-hole display with curved edges supplied by BOE or Visionox. He added that these devices could be powered by the Kirin 9000 series. Since yesterday’s leak revealed that the Nova 8 SE has a waterdrop notch display and Dimensity 720 / 800U chipset, it appears that the JSC-AN00 / TN00 model number does not belong to it.

The Nova 8 series from Huawei is expected to rival the upcoming Vivo X60 lineup and OPPO Reno5 series in China.

The Huawei Mate 40 series is all set to go official on Oct. 22. After launching the Mate 40 series, the company will shift its focus to the Nova 8 series. A reliable tipster from China has claimed that the Nova 8 will be announced in November.

Apart from claiming that the Nova 8 series is coming next month, the tipster did not share new information on the specifications of the expected devices. Past reports have revealed that the Nova 8 family will include three handsets such as the Nova 8 SE, Nova 8, and Nova 8 Pro. It is speculated that the HJC-AN00 / TN00 and JSC-AN00 / TN00 model numbers are associated with the Nova 8 models.

The alleged Nova 8 Pro had recently appeared in leaked shots to reveal that its screen features curved edges and a pill-shaped cutout for its dual selfie snappers. It is speculated that the Nova 8 Pro has an OLED panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The device could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset and it may arrive in China with a price tag of 3,999 Yuan (~$598).

The Nova 8 SE could be driven by the Dimensity 800 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. It may come with an internal storage of 128 GB and it could be priced at 2,799 Yuan (~$419).

In related news, Huawei recently unveiled the Nova 7 SE 5G Vitality Edition. In terms of specs and design, it is the same Nova 7 SE phone that debuted earlier in China. While the older model featured the Kirin 820 chipset, the new model comes with Dimensity 800U SoC.

Huawei may no longer produce smartphones if the US ban continues to exist. Nevertheless, the Chinese telecom giant is still working on to launch new devices. These upcoming handsets are HUAWEI nova8 series and HUAWEI Mate X2. Both of them have been now certified by TENAA exposing their model numbers. Additionally, their codenames have also been revealed.

The TENAA listings of the forthcoming nova8 series and Mate X2 were first shared by popular leakster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. He also exposed the codenames of these smartphones.

According to the tipster, the devices in the HUAWEI nova8 series are codenamed “Jessica” and “JessicaH”. Though he did not mention the marketing name of these products, they should probably retail as HUAWEI nova8 and HUAWEI nova8 Pro respectively. Further, they will come with two model numbers each – JSC-AN00 / JSC-TN00 and HJC-AN00 / HJC-TN00.

Having said that, this is not the first time we are hearing about the codenames of nova8 series. Back in August, reputed leaker Evan Blass revealed the devices in the series to be called “Jessica” as well as “Barbie”. Anyway, he did not straight up mention these codenames to be of nova8 series as he simply called them to be for next-gen nova series. That said, the smartphone associated with the latter codename is still a mystery.

Other than the nova8 series, Digital Chat Station also revealed the model number of HUAWEI Mate X2 to be TET-AN00. Unfortunately, he neither shared the screenshot of its TENAA listing nor we could it find like the above four. Thus, we think it is either yet to be listed or removed.

As for its codename, it is called “Teton” just like Evan mentioned last month. According to a report, the third foldable from Huawei will continue to feature the same 8.03-inch foldable display with a resolution of 2480 x 2220 pixels. However, unlike its predecessors, the screen will be of inward folding type like the Galaxy Z Fold2.

It is worth noting that though Huawei is gearing up to release these smartphones, there’s a chance that they may be only limited to China and certain global markets as the company currently cannot place new orders for chips and other supplies.

Huawei is expected to announce the Nova 8 series next quarter, specifically by the end of the year according to a leak from early this month. The same source revealed the chipset and price of one of the models, the Nova 8 SE. He has now disclosed the chipsets and price tags of the other two models in the series which will launch as the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro.

According to the post made on Weibo, the leaker, Really Asen Jun, revealed that the Huawei Nova 8 will be powered by the Dimensity 820 processor. The post reveals that the chipset is currently exclusive to Redmi but the exclusivity period ends in December. Other details of the Nova 8 mentioned include a 90Hz OLED display that will be supplied by Visionox or Tianma and a starting price of ¥3299 (~$484).

For the Nova 8 Pro, the phone is said to be powered by the Dimensity 1000+. It will also have an OLED display but with a 120Hz refresh rate. The supplier for the display will be either Visionox or Tianma. With respect to price, the Nova 8 Pro will have a starting price of ¥3999 (~$587).

It is no surprise that Huawei’s upcoming Nova 8 phones are powered by MediaTek processors, unlike their predecessors that are powered by Kirin chipsets. The US ban has stifled Huawei’s HiSilicon chip business.
