It is a less-powerful variant of the unreleased flagship which should launch as the Nubia Z18. The launch of the Z18 may not be far off as a flagship Nubia phone has just been spotted on TENAA.

The ZTE phone has model number NX606J and this isn’t the first time we have come across it. About two months ago, a phone with the same model number and powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor was seen on AnTuTu.

[envira-gallery id=”186036″]

The Nubia NX606J has a 5.99-inch display with a 1080 x 2160 display. It is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.649 GHz. This is most definitely the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform.

The phone has two variants – one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and another with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There are dual cameras on the rear but TENAA lists only one of them which is the 24MP main sensor. There is an 8MP sensor in front for selfies.

The Nubia NX606J runs Android 8.0 Oreo, has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and packs a 3,350mAh battery.

TENAA has provided pictures of a black unit but adds that there will be a gold unit too. We believe there will be more than two color variants at launch.

The design isn’t spectacular. The rear cameras are arranged horizontally and we can make out the red accent around the cameras. There is a dedicated voice assistant button on the left just like on the Z18 Mini while the power button and volume rocker are on the right. What is surprising is that the phone’s rear is covered in metal and not glass like the Z18 Mini.

A new Nubia smartphone has appeared on AnTuTu’s Weibo page showing a specs lineup which includes the latest Qualcomm flagship chip.

The device is simply identified as Nubia NX606J and is believed to be the Nubia Z19 flagship. Judging by the specs listed, the device is the company’s next flagship model so it really could be the Nubia Z19. The AnTuTu listing shows the Nubia NX606J comes with 6GB of RAM as well as 32GB of storage. This should be one of the variants as there will likely be another one with a more spacious storage. Nubia could also include an 8GB RAM variant on the upcoming flagship model just like we saw on the Nubia Z17. The NX606J is also listed to pack a full-screen design with a FullHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080pixels. The device will also get its interface from the Android 8.0 Oreo OS out of the box. Of course, the Android Oreo OS will come with Nubia’s Custom UI.

The AnTuTu listing also outlines the benchmark score of the device and it is very much similar to other Snapdragon 845 models which passed through AnTuTu recently. The Nubia NX606J managed to record a score of 271,674 points on AnTuTu. This is slightly higher than the Galaxy S9+ AnTuTu score of 265,257 but the difference isn’t much. We can’t say when the device will be launched but it is unlikely the device will debut at MWC 2018. The Nubia Z17 was launched in June last year but this model could be unveiled a bit earlier than that. We’ll be on the lookout for more details and possibly renders of the device.
