A new smartphone just made its debut in the gaming smartphones segment: Vivo iQOO Pro. It is not an expensive device like the recent Asus ROG Phone 2, but it will offer a top-end hardware department at an affordable price. It will be the main competitor of two recent Chinese gaming phones released by Xiaomi and Nubia: the Black Shark 2 Pro and the Red Magic 3. Does the Vivo iQOO Pro offer a higher value for money or better specifications compared to its two opponents? These are the main questions we will try to answer through this specs comparison in order to suggest you the best purchase you can actually do if you are searching for an affordable gaming handset.

Vivo iQOO Pro vs Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro vs Nubia Red Magic 3

Design

Despite it is clearly a gaming-focused phone, Vivo iQOO Pro is the only smartphone from this trio to feature a traditional design. So it is as elegant as other phones and it does not have an aggressive gaming-centric design which someone might not like. It even comes with a very high screen-to-body ratio thanks to very narrow bezels around the display and a waterdrop notch, unlike its two rivals. But if you prefer a gaming-centric design with RGB lights and additional keys to enhance the gaming experience, then go either for the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro or the Nubia Red Magic 3 depending on your personal tastes. I prefer the Black Shark 2 Pro because it is thinner and lighter.

Display

Here, you basically have to choose between a higher refresh ratio and a bigger diagonal, or a more compact display with better touch sensing. The device which offers a higher refresh ratio (90 Hz) and a wider display is the Nubia Red Magic 3, and that is what I would choose. The one with 240 Hz touch sensing is the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro, but it has a smaller display and a standard refresh rate. I define the refresh ratio as a more important element than a higher touch sensing, so my choice would be the Red Magic 3. Both Red Magic 3 and Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro offer 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage, while Vivo iQOO Pro has a standard AMOLED display with non-amazing color reproduction and a standard refresh ratio, so it loses the comparison.

Specs & Software

While Nubia Red Magic 3 is equipped with a standard Snapdragon 855 chipset, both Vivo iQOO Pro and Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro are powered by the new Snapdragon 855+: an upgrade version of the SD855 offering a higher clock frequency and a graphic performance improvement up to 15 percent. I think Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro will offer higher performance in long session due to its advanced cooling system. Further, in its most expensive configuration, it has more internal storage than Vivo iQOO Pro (up to 256 GB against 128 GB). Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro even comes with very optimized software experience.

Camera

None of these handsets is a real camera phone: all of them have midrange-class cameras. In these cases, I prefer the most versatile device, so the one which offers the highest amount of features. My choice would be the Vivo iQOO Pro due to its triple camera including an ultrawide sensor and a pretty nice 48 MP shooter. But Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro is all but a bad camera phone, especially with its great telephoto lens enabling 2x optical zoom, as well as a decent selfie camera.

Battery

Nubia Red Magic 3 has a huge 5000 mAh battery, while Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro come with just 4000 and 4500 mAh, respectively. But the Nubia Red Magic 3 has a real cooling fan to manage (as well as a bigger display), so it is not said that it will always last more than Vivo iQOO Pro.

Price

€410/$460 for the Vivo iQOO Pro, €450/$505 for the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro and €500/$560 for the Nubia Red Magic 3. Overall, we think the most demanding gamers should go for the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro, but if you are a casual gamer, then Vivo iQOO Pro may be a better option.

Nubia’s Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone was announced just a couple of months back, in May. But an update to the lineup is already in the cards. According to our sources, Nubia’s next gaming flagship will be called the Red Magic 3S. This is in line with what Sudhanshu Ambhore had leaked back in July. But we also have a release date for the handset. The Red Magic 3S will be announced in September 2019.

We can also reveal that the biggest upgrade in the new model will be Snapdragon 855+. To recall, Nubia had already confirmed it will release a Snapdragon 855+ smartphone back in July. The company is said to be eyeing the international markets with the Red Magic 3S. The phone will likely be sold alongside the recently announced Nubia Z20 that goes on sale internationally next month.

The Nubia Red Magic 3S is more like a variant to the original Magic 3. So, the processor is likely going to be its biggest upgrade. It actually makes sense why the brand would release another variant of the Red Magic 3. The Snapdragon 855+ chipset upgrades the CPU (2.96GHz clock speed vs 2.84GHz on SD855) and GPU (15% faster) while retaining most of the features of the original SD855. So Nubia is looking to take advantage of the increased performance of the new gaming-centric processor on its new model.

We don’t have more details to share right now, but expect the new model to retain the best features of the Red Magic 3 like pressure-sensitive trigger buttons, 5000mAh battery, and even a built-in cooling fan.

Design

No matter which phone you choose: you will get very nice gaming-centric aesthetics, but there is an important difference between Vivo iQOO and its rivals. The first has a traditional premium design just like most of the other high-end phones, while Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro and Nubia Red Magic 3 have an aggressive gaming-centric design. Vivo iQOO still has LED lights on its back and it even features capacitive triggers, but if you are a real gamer and you want a totally appropriate design with even better gaming-centric features, you should go either for the Black Shark 2 Pro or the Nubia Red Magic 3. Given that I mostly care about having an elegant and compact design, I would choose the Vivo iQOO. But it is all about tastes.

Display

A wide diagonal of 6.65 inches, a high 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage and even a high 90 Hz refresh ratio: Nubia Red Magic 3 simply has an amazing display, especially for gaming lovers. The presence of a so high refresh ratio makes me prefer this device over the Black Shark 2 Pro, but this does not mean it does not have a nice display as well, especially if we consider its 240 Hz touch-sensing experience and its 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage. But note that it lacks a 90 Hz refresh ratio and it has a smaller panel. Vivo iQOO does not offer the best color reproduction and neither high responsiveness, but unlike the Red Magic 3, it features an in-display fingerprint reader.

Specs & Software

The presence of the Snapdragon 855+ chipset makes the Black Shark 2 Pro the device with the highest performance (and not only in this trio, given that it recently obtained the highest AnTuTu score ever). In case you missed it, Snapdragon 855+ is an overclocked upgrade of the Snapdragon 855 which offers a higher clock frequency (2.96 GHz instead of 2.84 GHz) and 15 percent better graphics performances. However, do not underestimate the Nubia Red Magic 3 and its air cooling system which integrates a real fan running at 14,000 rpm: a perfect solution for long gaming sessions and hot weather.

Camera

The best camera seems to belong to the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro: we are talking about a rear setup including a 48 MP main sensor and a secondary telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. It provides the highest detail and it is also very versatile. Right after, we got the Vivo iQOO with its triple camera including an ultrawide sensor and a depth sensor.

Battery

Given its 5000 mAh capacity, the battery found on the Nubia Red Magic 3 lasts longer than both Black Shark 2 Pro and Vivo iQOO, despite the phone features a bigger display.

The newly-announced ROG Phone II by Asus is already defined as the best gaming phone so far. The presence of the best Qualcomm’s chipset out there and its incredibly advanced gaming-centric features left no doubts. But when it comes to mobile devices, it is not all about specifications and neither about performances. There is also value for money, just to make an example. That is the reason why we think it is worth comparing the so-called “best gaming phone ever” with the other recent gaming phones from its concurrence. And in case you do not know, the latest gaming smartphones with a gaming-centric design released before the ROG Phone II are Xiaomi Black Shark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3. Here we will show you the differences between these handsets as well as their strong and weak points.

Design

All these phones come with a very original and gaming-centric design, so which one you should choose is up to your tastes. I prefer the Asus ROG Phone II due to its better materials (rear glass and aluminum frame) and its Air Triggers that means essentially pressure-sensitive rear keys with haptic feedback. Nubia Red Magic 3 offers rear physical keys as well and with its RGB strip, it even shows very attractive design. But both Red Magic 3 and Xiaomi Black Shark have a full metal unibody design instead of glass + metal body.

Display

The 120 Hz refresh ratio, the incredibly high color accuracy with 108 percent DCI-P3 coverage and HDR10 standard, as well as 240 Hz touch sensing technology, would make me choose the Asus ROG Phone II again when it comes to the display. There is no challenge: it has a superior panel under every point of view. And the phone is even equipped with stereo speakers and four microphones so that you can have the best gaming experience even in multiplayer sessions. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3 have a similar color accuracy but they differ when it comes to refresh ratio: while Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has a 60 Hz refresh ratio and 240 Hz touch sensing, Red Magic 3 has a standard touch sensing but 90 Hz refresh ratio. In my opinion, a higher refresh rate is more important than higher-touch sensing, so I prefer the Red Magic 3.

Specs & Software

While both Xiaomi Black Shark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3 are powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset, Asus ROG Phone 2 boasts the Snapdragon 855 Plus: an overclocked variant with better GPU performance. The Snapdragon 855+ promises a 15 percent increase for GPU speed and it has a higher 2.96 GHz compared to 2.84 GHz of the vanilla Snapdragon 855. Further, Asus ROG Phone 2 has 512 GB of internal storage in its higher-end version, while the most expensive configuration of the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 and the Nubia Red Magic 3 have a 256 GB storage. With the Asus ROG Phone 2 you can even switch between a stock Android user interface and the customized, gaming-centric ROG UI. So it wins even when it comes to the software.

Camera

Despite according to the specs on the paper, it is very close to Xiaomi Black Shark 2, we believe that Asus ROG Phone 2 will be the winner even when it comes to the rear department. Thanks to the laser autofocus system, focusing should be better. And the secondary ultrawide sensor will be more useful than the telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom found on the Xiaomi Black Shark 2. Nubia Red Magic 3 has just a single camera and it is all but a camera phone. Even the selfie camera seems better on the Asus ROG Phone 2 with its high 24 MP resolution.

Battery

Coming to the battery, it is again a victory for the Asus ROG Phone 2 which is the last-gen flagship with the biggest battery out there: 6000 mAh. This battery guarantees 7 hours of PUBG non-stop playing and it even supports reverse charging.

Master Lu, a smartphone benchmarking platform from China, has released the list of best smartphones for the first half of the year 2019. The list is led by Huawei P30 smartphone. Master Lu has also released other lists such as top 10 best performing smartphones, top 10 chipsets and top 10 mobile phone UI.

Huawei P30 has acquired 157.28 points to gain the first position in Master Lu’s top 10 best smartphone. The second place Nubia Red Magic Mars smartphone with 154.88 points. The OnePlus 7 Pro is placed on the third position with 150.54 points. The Honor V20, Huawei P30 Pro, Nubia X, OnePlus 7v, Xiaomi Black Shark 2, Meizu 16s and OPPO Reno Z are the devices that have made it to Master Lu’s list of best smartphones for first half of 2019.

The top list of best performing smartphones in the starting six months of the year has Nubia Red Magic 3 at the pole position with 459,463 points. Black Shark 2 is the second place with 425,758 points and the OnePlus 7 Pro is placed third with 413,669 points. The other phones in Master Lu’s best performing smartphones list are OnePlus 7, Samsung Galaxy S10+, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom, Vivo iQOO Monster Edition, Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition, Lenovo Z6 Pro and Meizu 16s.

The Kirin 980 chipset is on the fourth position followed by Samsung’s Exynos 9810 and Exynos 8895 chipsets. Snapdragon 835, Snapdragon 730, Snapdragon 712 and Snapdragon 710 chipsets have respectively occupied seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions in the list.

Next comes the list of top 10 mobile phone UI which is led by Hydrogen OS by OnePlus followed by Joy UI on Black Shark gaming phones. The Nubia UI, EMUI by Huawei, Flyme by Meizu have made it to the top five. MIUI by Xiaomi ranks sixth, Smartisan OS is on seventh, ColorOS by OPPO is placed on eighth, One UI by Samsung is on ninth and Xperia UI by Sony is on tenth position.

China-based ZTE’s Nubia had launched the Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone in China a few months ago. Today, the company has launched its latest gaming smartphone in the Indian market.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 will compete against other premium gaming smartphone in the Indian market, which includes Asus ROG Phone and Black Shark 2. The Red Magic 3 will be available for purchase in India exclusively through online market Flipkart from 27th June.

No gaming device is complete without the use of LED lights and this Nubia Red Magic is no exception. It comes with an RGB LED accent lighting system and has V-shaped elements on its back, making it look like a hardcore gaming device.

Coming to the specifications, the smartphone boasts a 6.65-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, a fast 90Hz refresh rate and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It also allows you to choose between 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rate or you can let the phone decide it automatically.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm‘s flagship Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The device is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support.

In the camera department, the smartphone features Sony IMX586 48-megapixel single camera sensor at the back and comes with 8K recording and world’s first 1920 fps Super Slo-mo recording. On the front side, it comes equipped with a 16-megapixel shooter.

The smartphone features the industry’s first cooling fan inside which doesn’t use any physical bearings and is made out of nanomaterials. The company says that the fan runs at 14K RPM and consumes very little power. It is supported by a liquid-cooled copper tube to keep the temperature inside cooler.

Being a gaming smartphone, it comes with a lot of gaming-centric features. There’s a new dedicated noise-canceling gaming mic for better conversations with your fellow teammates. Apart from the two shoulder button on the top of the device, the phone also uses the fingerprint sensor as an added button during gameplay.

It comes with 4D smart shock, which is a smart system that adds vibrations to match different scenes in the game, enhancing your overall gameplay experience. It has a special gaming dock pins on the left side that support a number of accessories.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone is offered in two color options in India — Black and Flame Red. It comes in two variants in India — 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. Both the variants are priced at Rs. 35,999 (~$515) and Rs. 46,999 (~$673) respectively.

AnTuTu’s top 10 list of best performing Android smartphones for April was led by Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition, Xiaomi Mi 9 and Black Shark 2 gaming phone. The benchmarking platform the top 10 list of smartphones with topnotch performance for May 2019. Various flagship phones from China were tested between May 1 and May 30 to gauge their performance. Also, at least 100 units per model were tested using the latest edition of the AnTuTu benchmarking app to compile the list for the previous month.

As it can be seen in the list below, the Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming-focused phone has bagged number one position in the top 10 best performing smartphones list with an average benchmarking score of 380,921. Apart from the Red Magic 3, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is also a new entrant in the list. The ZTE has managed to salvage the second position with an AnTuTu score of 376,916.

The next positions on the list are occupied by Xiaomi devices. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition is on the third place with an AnTuTu score of 376,092. It is followed by Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone with a benchmarking score of 374,736. Placed on the fifth position is Xiaomi Mi 9 with a score of 372,422.

The Meizu 16s has occupied the sixth position with an AnTuTu score of 370,315. Another new entrant on the list is OnePlus 7 Pro. With an average benchmarking score of 368,834, the OnePlus phone is now sitting on the seventh spot on the list. The Lenovo Z6 Pro is on the eight position with a score of 363,399. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are on the ninth and tenth positions. They have respectively scored 362,450 and 361,394.

It is surprising to see the OnePlus 7 Pro only managing to secure seventh position on the list. AnTuTu has claimed that it is because of the high refresh rate of the display that consumes more power. So, the operating system running on the phone has been optimized for increasing its endurance and it does not completely take advantage of Snapdragon 855 mobile platform’s potential. Hence, the smartphone has acquired low average benchmarking score on AnTuTu.

The Vivo iQOO is no longer present on the list because its average benchmarking score is below 360k. AnTuTu has claimed that the AnTuTu score of the phone went down after the recent software update. All the ten phones that have made it to the list of top 10 best performing Android phones for May 2019 are powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset. None of the Kirin 985 SoC driven phone are present on the list. Probably, the upcoming Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro phones may make it to the list in the next month’s AnTuTu’s top 10 list of best performing Android phone.

Strangely, the OPPO 10x Zoom Edition is missing from the list. Hopefully, it will appear along with some with other phones such as Redmi K20 Pro and OnePlus 7 in the next month’s AnTuTu list.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 comes with a very aggressive design boasting an RGB light strip on the back. The display is of 6.65 inches, with 90 Hz refresh ratio and a Full HD+ resolution with 1080 x 2340 pixels. Despite having an AMOLED panel, it doesn’t have an in-display fingerprint scanner. Instead, the biometric sensor is placed on the rear side, under the single rear camera coming with a 48 MP resolution, an f/1.7 focal aperture and 8K video recording (as well as 4K at 60 fps).

Nubia Red Magic 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset and it has a very advanced cooling system with a real fan running at 14k rpm. Besides the above-mentioned memory configuration, there are two more configurations which come with a more affordable price tag. The cheapest one comes with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, while the midrange one is 8/128 GB. AnTuTu benchmarking platform has released its list of top 10 best performing smartphones in China for the month of April 2019. The list has been compiled on the basis of average AnTuTu benchmark scores between April 1 and April 30. The benchmarking platform has carried out benchmark tests on at least 100 units per model. The list is mainly dominated by the Snapdragon 855 SoC powered phones and the top three devices in the list belongs to Xiaomi.

The first position in the list is occupied by Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition with an average benchmarking score of 373,715. The second position is acquired by Xiaomi Mi 9 that has scored 373,511 on AnTuTu. Xiaomi’s Black Shark 2 gaming phone comes third with an AnTuTu score of 371,837.

Placed on the fourth is the new entrant Meizu 16s smartphone with a score of 370,306. The Vivo iQOO Monster edition gaming-focused smartphone with 12 GB of RAM has recorded 363,360 on the benchmarking platform. The Samsung Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 smartphones have respectively scored 395,936 and 358,726 on AnTuTu.

The Vivo iQOO standard edition is placed on the eighth position with 354,138 score. All the aforementioned smartphones mentioned in the list are powered by Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. The Snapdragon 845 SoC powered Nubia Red Magic Mars gaming smartphone is on the ninth position with a score of 310,612. The last phone in the list is the Honor V20 that is equipped with Kirin 980 SoC. It has scored 306,289 on AnTuTu.

Flagship phone such as Huawei P30, Huawei P30 Pro, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom, Lenovo Z6 Pro and Nubia Red Magic 3 that were unveiled in the previous month in April haven’t made it to the top 10 list of best performing smartphones for the month April. Hopefully, these phones will rank higher on the May month’s best performance smartphones list that will be released in the coming month.

Design

The design is a very subjective matter when it comes to gaming phones. There are people who prefer aggressive and original aesthetics such as Nubia Red Magic 3 and Xiaomi Black Shark 2 with their LED strips, while others want a more standard and elegant design such as Razer Phone 2. If we exclude the subjective elements, there are three things making the difference here: build quality, keys, and options to connect accessories. On the Nubia Red Magic 3, you get more physical keys you can use in-game, as well as rear pins to connect additional accessories. On the other hand, Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has a pressure sensitive display which lets you map the buttons to the sides of the screen. Razer Phone 2 does not offer these features, but it is water resistant and it has an oleophobic coating for the display. Nubia Red Magic 3 seems a bit more comfortable for gamers.

Display

The most stunning display for gamers is the one found on the Razer Phone 2, despite it is not an AMOLED panel. Indeed, it comes with the highest refresh rate (120 Hz) that is very useful in-game, as well as the highest resolution (QHD) for a higher level of detail, wide color gamut and higher brightness.

Specs & Software

Razer Phone 2 loses this comparison because it has a less impressive chipset: we are talking about the old-gen Snapdragon 845, while Nubia Red Magic 3 and Xiaomi Black Shark 2 are equipped with the new Snapdragon 855 chipset. In order to establish which one performs better between Xiaomi Black Shark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3, we will have to see how the air cooling of the Nubia Magic 3 behaves, but we have higher expectations for the Red Magic.

Camera

Despite coming with flagship-class performances, these devices are not exactly the best camera phones, but they are still good at taking photos. Nubia Red Magic 3 has just a single camera, but it is very interesting due to its 48 MP resolution and the capability to record 8K videos and 1920 fps slow motion videos. On the other hand, Razer Phone 2 comes with OIS and 2x optical zoom, better features for photos. Even Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is pretty nice with its 48 MP main sensor supported by a 12 MP telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom.

Battery

With its huge 5000 mAh battery, the Nubia Red Magic 3 should be able to beat the competition in a lot of scenarios. We say should because we do not know how much energy the rotating fan working at 14K rpm will consume. So, just like the cameras, we have to test the battery life of the Nubia Red Magic 3 in order to give a definitive opinion.

Price

The price is the weakest point of the Razer Phone 2 as it was launched with a price tag of €850/$950. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3 debuted in China for just €450/$500 and €385/$430 respectively. At the end of the day, if we base on the specs on the paper, due to its big battery, its physical keys, the rear pins, and the 90 Hz refresh rate, Nubia Red Magic 3 looks like the device with the highest value for money.

Nubia is all set to release its new gaming flagship, the Nubia Red Magic 3 on April 28. Ahead of its official unveiling, the phone has hit a couple of benchmarking platforms. Yesterday, the phone was spotted on Master Lu benchmark with a very high score. Today, the same model has been spotted on a much more familiar benchmarking platform, Geekbench.

The new listing confirms that the phone will have Snapdragon 855 under its hood along with 8GB of RAM. With such powerful internals, the Nubia Red Magic 3 (NX629J) managed to score 3513 in single core and 11309 in multi-core tests. The multi-core score is impressive in particular and the phone’s hybrid cooling setup could have further enhanced its performance. Note that this is the 8GB RAM model. But we know that there’s a 12GB RAM model as well, thanks to yesterday’s Master Lu listing.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 is said to come with a 90Hz gaming display. While it may not be as high as Razer phone’s 120Hz display, it’s still better than most smartphone displays out there, especially for gaming. We also know that the phone will feature a 5000mAh+ battery, for long hours of gaming.

Each month AnTuTu releases the list of top 10 best performance Android smartphones in China. Today, it has shared the list of top performing phone for March 2019. The February month’s list was led Xiaomi Mi 9 and Lenovo Z5 Pro GT that were powered by Snapdragon 855. The top 10 list for March month has coupe of new Snapdragon 855 powered phones. The list is now led by Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition (Explorer Edition) with an average benchmarking score of 372,072 points. The regular edition of Xiaomi Mi 9 has ranked second with a slightly low score of 371,878. The Vivo iQOO Monster edition with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage is placed on the third with an average score of 365,430.

The Snapdragon 855 powered Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 have ranked fourth and fifth with respective AnTuTu scores of 359,987 and 359,217. The Vivo iQOO gaming phone and Lenovo Z5 Pro GT are the other Snapdragon 855 mobile platform powered smartphones on the list. These phones that have ranked sixth and seventh have respectively scored 356,510 and 348,591.

The Nubia Red Magic Mars gaming with Snapdragon 845 SoC onboard is on the eighth position with an AnTuTu score of 315,200. The Honor V20 fueled by the Kirin 980 SoC is on the ninth place with 306,306 score. Placed on the tenth position is the Huawei Mate 20 X phone. The Kirin 980 SoC driven phone has scored 303,174 on AnTuTu.

Some new Snapdragon 855 powered phones are poised to debut in April. The Meizu 16s has been recently spotted with an impressive score on AnTuTu. The upcoming Red Magic 3 was spotted earlier today with highest benchmarking score on AnTuTu. These phones are expected to rank high on AnTuTu’s top 10 list of best performing Android phones for April 2019. The list will also include the recently announced Kirin 980 powered Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro smartphones.

Nubia is expected to announce the Nubia Red Magic 3 smartphone as early as next month. It is believed that the NX629J phone that was approved by China’s 3C body could be the upcoming Red Magic 3 smartphone. The same model number has appeared on Master Lu to reveal its key specs and performance prowess.

According to Master Lu benchmarks, the Nubia NX629J is powered by Snapdragon 855 mobile platform and 8 GB of RAM. It features full HD+ 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution supporting screen and an inbuilt storage of 128 GB. The handset has recorded an extraordinary benchmarking score of 406,129 on Master Lu. The benchmarking platform has claimed that benchmarked device is an engineer unit. Hence, the performance of the commercial device could be different.

Nubia CEO Ni Fei had recently hinted that the Nubia’s next gaming phone will be equipped with a battery that starts with “5”. Hence, it is being speculated that the smartphone could be arriving with 5,000mAh or higher capacity battery. The 3C certification of Nubia NX629J has revealed that it will be arriving with support for 30W rapid charging. He had also hinted earlier in this month that the smartphone will be also made available in 12 GB RAM variant. Probably, this model could be coming with 256 GB of native storage.

A comprehensive cooling system comprising of air cooling, liquid cooling and a turbo fan will be available inside the Red Magic 3 to control its internal temperature. The handset is expected to support a higher refresh rate. Also, it will be featuring a 4D vibration system for enhanced gaming experience through advanced haptic feedback.

The Red Magic 3 will be arriving as a major rival for the recently launched Black Shark 2 gaming phone. The Xiaomi phone is available with an attractive price tag of 3,199 (~$475) for the base model. The Red Magic 3 could be also hitting the Chinese markets with similar pricing.

A new Nubia phone with model number NX629J has bag 3C certification in China. It seems to be the successor of the Nubia NX619J phone that was introduced in the market as Nubia Red Magic Mars gaming phone. Hence, it appears that the newly spotted NX629J device could be the upcoming Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone.

The 3C certification of the Nubia NX629J reveals that it will be supplied a charger that supports up to 30W PD rapid charging. Nubia CEO Ni Fei had recently claimed that the upcoming Red Magic gaming phone will be equipped with a battery that starts with “5” which indicates it could be packed with at least 5,000mAh battery. With support for 15V/2A charging, the Red Magic 3 will take lesser time to charge completely.

Nubia’s Red Magic gaming phone lineup has been in the market for around a year and a new update is in the works. These phones are quite hot right now and have carved out a good fan following. Recently we saw even Vivo get into this niche segment with its iQOO model.

The company’s GM, Ni Fei, was kind enough to let us know the key features of the phone before launch, but there was one feature we weren’t clear about: battery.

In the earlier post, Ni Fei had revealed that the new Red Magic 3 will upgrade its battery capacity. While this confirmed that the battery capacity will exceed 3800mAh, we wouldn’t have imagined it to be significantly big. But that’s the case here. Ni Fei confirmed earlier today that the Nubia Red Magic 3 will come with a 5000mAh+ battery. This would make it one of the largest battery gaming phones in the market today.

We know that the new phone will come with Snapdragon 855 with 12GB RAM on board. There will be liquid + air cooling to ensure that the phone doesn’t overheat even under extreme stress. What’s even more exciting is that the Nubia Magic 3 is said to be equipped with a screen that boasts of a better refresh rate than ‘most gaming screens’ out there. While we don’t have the specifics, it’s worth noting that the premium Razer Phone came with an astonishing 120Hz screen refresh rate. Anything close to this figure will be amazing. Other expected features include shoulder buttons and 4D vibration motors.

We won’t have to wait too long to meet the Red Magic 3. The phone is said to launch sometime in April.
