Nubia launched the Z60 Ultra Leading Version in China today. Alongside, the brand also introduced the Z60S Pro as the successor to last year’s Z50S Pro. The latest offering retains the same design and specifications as its predecessor apart from some incremental changes. Read on to know what the device offers out of the box. 

Nubia Z60S Pro specifications 

The Nubia Z60S Pro retains the boxy design with a flat frame and a protruding circular camera module on the back panel. There is a dedicated button for capturing pictures. On the front, the device features a 6.8-inch OLED display surrounded by ultra-thin bezels. It offers an 1.5K resolution, a 1,200 nits peak brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is layered with Longxi durable glass for protection against damage. There is also an integrated fingerprint scanner. 

In the imaging department, the Nubia Z60S Pro sports a quad camera setup that comprises of a 50MP Sony IMX906 1/1/56 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 8MP OIS-enabled telephoto unit, and a 2.5cm super macro shooter. There is a 16MP front-facing selfie snapper. The smartphone packs NeoVision AI Photography system 2.0 with a host of AI features like magic eraser, a star sky algorithm. AI blur, ultra-wide cinema format, and more. 

Under the hood, the Nubia Z60S Pro is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It packs up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The device draws its power from a 5,100mAh battery unit with support for 80W charging. It also comes with AI Zero power consumption to extend battery life. The smartphone runs on Android 14 OS out of the box. 

The Nubia Z60S Pro also features robust connectivity with two-way satellite connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi-6E, and USB-C port. 

The Nubia Z60S Pro starts at CNY 2,999 (~$412) for the base 8+256GB variant whereas the 12+256GB costs CNY 3,299 (~$453). The 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB carry a price tag of CNY 3,699 (~$508) and CNY 4,299 (~$590) respectively.

Nubia will reportedly launch the Nubia Z60S Pro on July 23. The company has announced some of the details of the new phone ahead of its launch. So, let’s take a look.

The company has released a video to showcase some of the features the phone is going to offer. According to the video, the phone comes with flat sides and slightly rounded corners. The circular camera island on the back has a similar design and a significant protrusion. There is one extra lens this time, making it a quad-camera setup. However, the company didn’t reveal much about the camera specifications.

Speaking of the camera system, the Nubia Z50S Pro (predecessor) from last year equips a 50 MP, f/1.6, 35mm, 1/1.49″ main sensor along with an 8 MP one for the 80mm (telephoto) and another 50 MP one for the ultrawide (13mm). Nonetheless, the video didn’t reveal much about the camera system of the upcoming device.

The Z60S Pro will be available in three colors: Black, Blue, and White. Just like the predecessor, the phone will equip an alert slider and the flash module on the back will also be placed outside the camera island.

Another aspect the company highlighted in the video is the use of AI in its camera system. In addition, the Nubia Z60S Pro phone also has a built-in Nebula AI for other features. The phone will support satellite connectivity and pack a 5100mAh battery to power the system.

According to previous rumors, the phone comes with a 1.5K flat AMOLED panel, which is protected with a Dragon Rhino glass cover. The phone equips the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip inside. The phone could support 80W fast charging. For reference, the predecessor also packs the same chipset and a flat AMOLED panel with nearly symmetrical bezels.

Nubia has officially announced the Z60S Pro and the Z60 Ultra Leading Edition today. The first one is going to be the successor of the Z50S Pro launched back in July last year. The new product will be launched at 14:00 on July 23 in China.

The phone supports two-way satellite connectivity and offers real-time two-way satellite calling. The phone has already passed the Wi-Fi Alliance certification on June 19, which confirms that the phone will support satellite connectivity. It also reveals that the operating system will be based on Android 14.

While we don’t have much information about the Nubia Z60S Pro at this point, we can refer to the predecessor to get an idea of what to expect.

The Nubia Z50S Pro came with a price tag of 3,699 Yuan (equivalent to $500). It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The phone comes with the following storage and memory configurations – 256GB 12GB RAM, 1TB 12GB RAM, 1TB 16GB RAM.

On the front, the phone packs a 6.8″ 1260 x 2800 AMOLED display with a center punch-hole selfie camera, nearly uniform bezels, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1200 nits.

On the back, the phone packs a big circular camera island that houses three cameras – a 50MP 35mm 1/1.49″ main sensor with OIS, an 8MP 80mm 1/4.4″ telephoto with OIS, and a 50MP 13mm 1/2.88″ ultrawide without OIS.

The phone is powered by the company’s MyOS and was launched with Android 13.

Notably, the company will announce another phone in the event – the Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Edition. This phone reportedly supports IP68 dust and water resistance and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 gen 3. Users will also get the company’s 6th generation under-screen camera technology on the front. The poster also confirms that the phone will pack a large 6000mAh battery.

ZTE’s new upcoming smartphone, the “Nubia Z60S Pro,” has been spotted in the database. Last year, ZTE released the phone Nubia Z60 Ultra, which took attention for its impressive specifications. The phone comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 6000 mAh battery capacity. The launch date of the Nubia Z60S Pro is not yet known, however, ZTE introduced the Nubia Z50S Pro in July 2023, and you can expect the unveiling of the Z60S Pro in 2024, possibly this summer, even maybe again in July.

The Z50S Pro came with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and we expect the Z60S Pro to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. We expect the camera specs of the Z60S Pro to be much better than those of the Z50S Pro, but of course, it won’t be as good as the Z60 Ultra unfortunately. ZTE usually keeps the superior camera features for the Ultra model, as the Z50 Ultra had a 1/2.0″ telephoto camera, while the telephoto sensor size of the Z50S Pro was 1/4.4″, which means nearly as twice as small a camera and slightly more grainy photos. Nubia Z60S Pro is on the way

We spotted a new smartphone model named Nubia Z60S Pro in the our database. While the specifications of the phone are not yet known, we expect the Z60S Pro to be not as good as the Z60 Ultra for sure, but still expect it to be a powerful device. The model number for the upcoming smartphone is “NX725J.”

The previously introduced Nubia Z60 Ultra was truly impressive upon its market release. With its powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 6000 mAh battery, the Z60 Ultra also features a main camera with a 35mm focal length, a sweet choice loved by many photographers. This is noteworthy as most modern smartphones typically come with a 23 or 24mm lens, which can result in distortion even in the main camera. It seems that ZTE will be joining the powerful camera hardware trend in smartphones, as evidenced by their recent introduction of the special “Z60 Ultra Photographer Edition.” You can learn more by reading our previous article.

ZTE may surprise us by equipping the Z60S Pro with special camera features, similar to those found in the Ultra model. Note that the camera system of Z60S Pro will be slightly worse. However, it is too early to discuss what the new phone will offer, this is all we know for now.
