Smartisan has today confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on Aug. 20 at 7:30 PM. Since the recent rumors have revealed that Smartisan Nut Pro 2S is the upcoming smartphone from the company, it is likely that the Chinese manufacturer may announce it through next week’s launch event.

Plenty of details of the Smartisan Nut Pro 2S have surfaced in the recent past. It is speculated to arrive as an enhanced version of Nut Pro 2 that was launched in November last year. Recent reports have revealed that the handset will be borrowing its design and some specs from Nut Pro 2. The handset is expected to debut as the first Snapdragon 710 smartphone from Smartisan.

The Smartisan Nut Pro 2S is expected to be equipped with 5.99-inch screen that supports an aspect ratio of 18:9. Like the Nut Pro 2, the upcoming phone from the company is expected to feature a front camera of 16-megapixel and 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. The handset is expected to be driven by Android 8.1 Oreo. The SoC of the smartphone is rumored to be coupled with 6 GB of RAM. It may arrive with an internal storage of 64 GB The exact size of the battery of this phone is not known, but it is rumored to carry support for 18W fast charging.

The Nut Pro 2 has a price tag of 1,799 Yuan (~$281). Since the only major change that is expected to arrive on the Nut Pro 2S is the inclusion of Snapdragon 710, the handset may not cost more than 1,999 Yuan (~$290).

Around three months ago, Smartisan had launched the Snapdragon 845 powered Smartisan R1 phone in China. The handset was recently spotted in the top 10 list of best performing Android smartphones by AnTuTu for the month of July. Recent reports have claimed that the Chinese manufacturer is now working on an upper mid-range phone called Smartisan Nut Pro 2S that will be fueled by Snapdragon 710. The rumor mill has also revealed that the Nut Pro 2S has a model number of OE106. The same smartphone has today appeared on Chinese benchmarking platform Master Lu to reveal some of its key specs.

As it can be seen in the image below, the appearance of the Smartisan Nut Pro 2S on Master Lu has revealed that its display will carry support for Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. This suggests that it will be sporting a notch-less screen that will produce 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 710 SoC is present under the hood of the smartphone along with 6 GB of RAM. It is recorded an overall score of 155,053 on Master Lu benchmarks.

The information of the Nut Pro 2S that have surfaced through its Master Lu listing corresponds with the specs that were recently mentioned on its box package. The configuration on the box had revealed that the phone will be arriving with 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera, 16-megapixel selfie snapper and Smartisan OS based Android.

The Smartisan Nut Pro 2S seems to be an upgraded version of Nut Pro 2 phone that was unveiled in November 2017. The handset is equipped with 5.99-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 660, 4 GB / 6 GB of RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB / 128 GB /256 GB of internal storage, 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera, 16-megapixel front camera and 3,500mAh battery.

The arrival of the Smartisan Nut Pro 2S seems to be close at hand since the smartphone has also already received 3C authority. Probably, the handset may go official later this month.

Smartisan Nut Pro 2 still continues to receive lots of accolades for the amazing design it features and the redefinition it gives to mid-range smartphones. With good publicity, this model could be Smartisan’s door opener into newer markets but they don’t seem to be ready to get out of their comfort zone just yet. For photography, the Nut Pro 2 uses dual rear camera setup with the primary sensor being a powerful 12MP Sony IMX386 1.25um wide-angle sensor with a F/1.8 aperture and PDAF. It is paired with a 5MP Samsung S5K4E8 1.4um F/2.0 sensor for depth of field capture using ArcSoft dual camera bokeh technology. The ArcSoft technology also provides multi-frame noise reduction algorithm. The device also features a capable 16MP F/2.2 sensor with AI beauty modes at the front. Chinese smartphone maker Smartisan announced its latest smartphone model which kept up with the trendy full-view display design. Even though the Smartisan Nut Pro 2 as it is called is a mid-range model, it is a premium one at that as it features a stunning design that stands out among its peers and is pretty impressive. Despite the topnotch design the Nut Pro 2 starts at just 1799 Yuan (~$270)! Isn’t that amazing?

The Nut Pro 2 features a 5.99-inch in-cell display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2160 x 1080 resolution. It features a glass body with a metal frame. The Smartisan Nut Pro 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest premium mid-range Snapdragon 660 SoC and Smartisan is making the model available in up to five memory variants. You get a 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant, 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM, and 6GB RAM + 256GB ROM variant. The device packs a 16MP F/2.2 camera at the front which has AI beauty modes and uses the ArcSoft bokeh technology for portrait selfies.

The full-screen display means the Nut Pro 2 doesn’t feature a front home button, rather it uses virtual buttons while the fingerprint sensor is mounted at the rear at the same spot as the company’s logo. At the rear, there is a dual camera setup which has a 12MP Sony IMX386 primary sensor with 1.25um wide-angle sensor, f1.8 aperture and PDAF. The secondary rear sensor is a 5MP Samsung S5K4E8 1.4um sensor with f2.0 aperture. The secondary camera is a depth of field sensor which utilises the ArcSoft dual camera bokeh technology.

There is a 3500mAh battery under the sleek body and you get fast charging technology. The phone is also a dual SIM phone and has the USB Type-C port and NFC.
