<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-429832 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Nvidia-Shield-TV-2015.png?x10805" alt="Nvidia Shield TV 2015" width="717" height="554" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Nvidia-Shield-TV-2015.png 717w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Nvidia-Shield-TV-2015-300x232.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Nvidia-Shield-TV-2015-696x538.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Nvidia-Shield-TV-2015-544x420.png 544w" sizes="(max-width: 717px) 100vw, 717px" /></p>
<p>The listing, first spotted by <a href="https://twitter.com/AndroidTV_Rumor/status/1468535969766940674">@AndroidTV_Rumor</a>, shows that Google Play Console currently lists all active models of the Shield TV as supporting Android 11 and the associated SDK version 30. The only model currently not listed with Android 11 support is “darcy,” which is likely an error as the same-generation “sif” does have support; these refer to the 2017 generation of Shield TV. “Foster,” the 2015 Shield TV, is also listed with support.</p>
<p>While this support in the Play Console isn’t clear-cut confirmation of Android 11 coming to the entire Shield TV lineup, It does give a hint of legitimacy to rumors floating around about Shield TV preparing for an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-tv-11/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Android TV 11</a> update closed beta program. If this does go through, it will be a gamechanger for Shield TV owners as it currently operates on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-tv-9/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Android TV 9</a>. While for first-generation Shield TV owners, it will mean 6 years of continuous support by Nvidia.</p>
<p>The update will bring features like one-time app permissions, Google Assistant Searchable Apps, Google Play Instant, Auto Low Latency Mode, Switch Access, an improved Gboard TV, Inattentive Sleep, and many more.</p>
<p>There is currently no information available on the potential Android TV 11 update timeline for the Nvidia Shield TV, but stay tuned as we will be keeping an eye on the situation and cover any notable developments.</p>
