LG has added another OLED model to its growing UltraGear OLED lineup with the UltraGear 27GX704A, following the earlier 27GX700A. The main difference between these two models is the OLED technology used. The UltraGear 27GX700A uses Tandem OLED technology (4th gen WOLED), while the UltraGear 27GX704A relies on older 2nd Gen WOLED technology.

Second-gen WOLED monitors use white OLED emitters with color filters to produce RGB colors, offering good efficiency and lower burn-in risk but slightly reduced brightness and color purity. RGB Tandem OLED monitors use separate red, green, and blue emitters stacked together, delivering higher brightness, better color accuracy, and longer lifespan by spreading the electrical load across multiple layers.

The 27GX704A monitor is available on Amazon for US$779. This monitor was initially introduced in China, Japan and Canada last month.

The UltraGear 27GX704A uses a 26.5-inch glossy WOLED panel with a QHD resolution of 2560×1440 and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It offers 178-degree viewing angles to keep image quality consistent from all sides. The monitor supports a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time, allowing smooth visuals during fast-moving gameplay.

The display covers 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, supports 10-bit color depth, and has a 1,500,000:1 static contrast ratio. It delivers 275 nits of typical brightness and reaches up to 1300 nits in HDR mode. It is certified for VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black and HDR10, providing strong contrast and bright highlights.

For adaptive sync, it supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, and VESA AdaptiveSync. Gaming features include Black Stabilizer, Dynamic Action Sync, crosshair overlays, FPS counter, factory calibration, flicker-free technology, and reader mode.

In terms of connectivity, the 27GX704A comes with two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, a USB-B upstream port, two USB-A downstream ports, and a 3.5mm four-pole headset jack.

The design features a four-sided borderless frame with a glossy finish and Hexagon RGB lighting on the back. The stand supports 130mm height adjustment, as well as swivel, tilt, and pivot functions. The monitor measures 605.2 × 351 × 45.3 mm without the stand and weighs 4.8 kg.

Gigabyte is expanding its gaming portfolio with new AORUS OLED Gaming Monitors in India. The announcement brings two new models, which include the AORUS FO27Q3 and the AORUS FO32U2P. These arrive with top-notch specs and features, which include a blazing-fast 360Hz refresh rate.

But what makes this model high-end is the extremely low 0.03 ms response time and an impressive 360 Hz refresh rate.

On the other hand, the AORUS FO32U2P features a taller 31.5-inch OLED screen that offers anti-reflection, 4K resolution, 99 percent DCI P3 color gamut, 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, and 10bit colors. Just like the FO27Q3, the AORUS FO32U2P also has a low 0.03ms response time but maxes out at a 240Hz refresh rate.

Other notable features

Gigabyte’s two new AORUS OLED Gaming Monitors arrive with VESA ClearMR 13000, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, Eyesafe Certified 2.0, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. For audio, these also house twin 5W speakers. One of its innovative features is the new Tactical Resolution Switch for a quick resolution switch, a KVM switch, and a Night Vision feature. Both models have OLED care protection to prevent screen burn issues.

Pricing, Availability, and Warranty

The new AORUS OLED gaming monitors from Gigabyte will be available for purchase from authorized retailers in India starting next month. AORUS FO27Q3 has a price tag of 86,999 INR (roughly 1,039 US dollars), while the AORUS FO32U2P costs 134,499 INR (roughly 1,605 US dollars). Buyers also get a 3-year premium warranty.

Great news for LG OLED PC monitor owners and those considering purchasing an OLED monitor! LG has just announced that their standard two-year warranty for monitors will now also cover any burn-in effects that have occurred or might occur in the future from normal usage.

As per LG’s statement, everyday uses like desktop applications and gaming fall under “normal” usage. If a scenario arises where burn-in, such as the Windows taskbar, a program icon, or in-game HUD elements, becomes permanent and regular automatic cleaning or maintenance methods no longer resolve the issue, you are entitled to receive repair or replacement under the provided warranty duration.

LG previously had a policy of excluding burn-in from their OLED monitor warranty, but the company has now reversed this decision. Currently, the brand covers OLED burn-in in the US and regions of the EU. That being said, this policy change does not apply to their OLED TVs.

This policy change is likely to encourage more gamers to go for OLED gaming monitors rather than IPS or VA panels. As we know, OLED screens are better than IPS and VA screens in a few big ways. One cool thing is that OLED screens can show really dark blacks and very lively colors because they can turn off each individual pixel. This makes them look way better than IPS or VA screens that aren’t capable of doing this. Also, OLED screens look good even if you’re looking from the side. So, if you’re watching with friends or family, the picture still looks great. OLED screens are great for gaming and applications where smooth motion is important because they have fast response times. They also have a wider range of colors than IPS or VA screens, which makes the visual content more dynamic and lifelike.
