We have seen in recent weeks a raft of products from LG that seem to rival some of Samsung’s iconic and premium TV offerings. The display arm of LG Electronics, LG Display is plowing deeper into innovation in its transparent screen offerings. The company will be showcasing these innovative new concepts at CES 2022. The LG models include the OLED Shelf, Show Window, Shopping Managing Showcase, and Smart Window.

LG Display is a commercial entity that creates concepts that other companies can adopt and deploy in building their brands, The OLED Shelf concept consists of two 55-inch transparent OLED displays mounted one atop the other, with a shelf at the top. LG Display says it will be an ideal TV for the living room. The OLED Shelf can display art on one or both screens. The Always-on Display Mode will ensure that the screen can stay on always. The design and operation of the OLED Shelf are bound to accentuate the aesthetics of the room.

There’s room to put an actual painting behind the OLED Shelf screens, too, which can be visible when the TV is off. LG also devised a motorized sheet of opaque material which rolls down like a projector screen to deliver more vibrant images.

While the OLED Shelf is built for the home, the LG Shopping Managing Showcase is meant for large spaces like department stores. It has a transparent OLED display which is attached to a wooden stand. The company says the TV”s design provides a futuristic experience.

The Show Window is a business-oriented model and can create unique window displays. It has four 55-inch transparent OLED displays that could be used to play up products in window displays in a variety of ways. LG Display says versions of it are already on display at the new Musinsa fashion store in Seoul, London, China, and Japan.

The Smart Window is a transparent OLED screen that can be used for video calls or presentations. These LG Display models and more concept products will be showcased by LG Display during CES 2022. There are no details yet on possible release dates for the transparent screen models.
