The company has announced a new 200MP image sensor, the OVB0A. It provides several improvements from its initial predecessor and is compact as it can get. It comes with class-leading resolution, improved auto-focus, and low light performance. The sensor features maximal light absorption with the lowest pixels in the field. It also comes with the best low-light performance in its class, according to the OEM.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/ominvision-ovb0a/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-476075" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A.jpg?x44794" alt="Ominvision OVB0A" width="1920" height="1097" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-300x171.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-1024x585.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-768x439.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-1536x878.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-696x398.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-1068x610.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-735x420.jpg 735w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></a></p>
<p>OmniVision is the main competitor of industry leader Samsung and it hopes to raise the stakes with the announcement of the 200MP OVB0A. The new premium sensor has a 1/1.395 inches size, a bit smaller than its predecessor. It has Omnivision’s 0.56µm pixels, which is the smallest ever for mobile imaging technology. The new sensor has 100% quad phase detection and quantum efficiency features that deliver premium performance. Therefore, the device still matches its predecessor in capturing the full visible light spectrum despite its size.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/ominvision-ovb0a-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-476074" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Ominvision-OVB0A" width="738" height="335" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-2.jpg 738w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-2-300x136.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Ominvision-OVB0A-2-696x316.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 738px) 100vw, 738px" /></a></p>
<p>Omnivision says the new 200MP image sensor will be available to its customers in the fourth quarter of 2022. It is noted that the OVB0B has not yet been used in any mobile device in the market. That being the case, we could expect that the OVB0A could be much longer in being deployed on a mobile device. The announcement is still a milestone for Omnivision as it maintains its competitiveness in the field.</p>
