<p>As reported by <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/521/576.htm">ITHome</a>, Samsung <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s9">Galaxy S9</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s9-plus">S9+</a> have reportedly started receiving the One UI 2.5 update in China. Accordingly, the firmware version is  G9600ZCU7FTJ8/G9600CHC7FTJ8 and has a size of 754.03MB. As per the official <a href="https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-G9600/CHC/doc.html">changelog</a>, the update has started rolling out from November 25, 2020. And Along with the One UI 2.5 update, it comes with the latest November 1, 2020 Security patch.</p>
<p>That said, we already know that One UI 2.5 update based on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-10">Android 10</a> brings features like navigation gestures for third-party launchers, Pro Video mode, changes in Single Take, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Samsung-DeX">Samsung DeX</a>, Samsung Keyboard, Bitmoji stickers on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/AOD">AOD</a>, and more. <p>That said, the device, being <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/06/samsung-galaxy-s9-galaxy-s9-official-china/">2018 flagship devices</a>, are unlikely to get the next major upgrade. This is because Samsung recently made the commitment of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/18/heres-the-official-list-of-samsung-galaxy-devices-eligible-for-three-generations-of-android-updates/">providing three-year upgrades</a> to the flagships and the S9 series unfortunately didn&#8217;t make the cut. Anyway, if you are someone who is living in China, you can navigate to <strong>Settings-&gt;Software Updates-&gt;Download and Install</strong> to try out the new One UI 2.5 update.</p>

Following it, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a70">Galaxy A70</a> is also getting the update along with November 2020 Security patch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-242683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Galaxy-A70-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy A70 featured" width="727" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Galaxy-A70-featured.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Galaxy-A70-featured-300x162.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></p>
<p>As reported by <a href="https://www.tizenhelp.com/galaxy-a70-galaxy-a50s-jumped-to-one-ui-2-5/">Tizenhelp</a>(via <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/one-ui-2-5-firmware-update-rollout-begins-galaxy-a70-europe/">Sammobile</a>) Galaxy A70 is reportedly receiving <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-2.5-update">One UI 2.5 update</a> based on Android 10 in Europe. However, it looks like the update is only for Ukraine as of now. That said, Samsung might be initially testing the update before expanding to all regions where Galaxy A70 exists.</p>
<p>The update has a firmware version <strong>A705FNXXU5CTK4</strong> and weighs 1421 MB. As mentioned earlier, it includes the latest security patch(November 1, 2020) along with improvements to the keyboard, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wi-fi">Wi-Fi</a>, keyboard features, and more. Additionally, Sammobile report says the Galaxy A70 update is only rolling out for Kyivstar mobile network carrier. This corroborates the above-mentioned theory which Samsung usually carries out for its update cycle.</p>
<p>Anyway, the new update seems to add a split keyboard support on landscape mode, YouTube search feature on Samsung Keyboard. Plus, users can now use Bitmoji stickers on Always On Display(<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/AOD">AOD</a>). For Messages, users get <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/SOS-Messages">SOS messages</a>, location sharing via SOS for every 30mins up to 24hrs.</p>
<p>Apart from the regular <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-2.5">One UI 2.5</a> update, Galaxy A70 also gets a new Wi-Fi setting features. Users can now see the quality of a new connection, Wi-Fi password requesting feature. Samsung has recently been updating its mid-range Galaxy A and budget M series of devices with One UI 2.5, and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-2.5-core">One UI Core 2.5</a> updates respectively.</p>
<p>The first A series device to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/15/samsung-galaxy-a71-one-ui-2-5-update/">get</a> it is the Galaxy A71, which was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/19/samsung-galaxy-a51-one-ui-2-5-update/">followed</a> by Galaxy A51. For the M series, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-m21">Galaxy M21</a> is the first to get One UI Core 2.5 update before <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m31">M31</a>. Earlier, the company rolled out the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/28/samsung-galaxy-m21-starts-getting-one-ui-core-2-1-update-with-september-security-patch/">One UI 2.1</a> update last month with features like Single Take, Night Hyperlapse, My Filters, and more.</p>
<p>In any case, this is just an incremental update, and it should eventually get the bigger <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-3.0">One UI 3.0</a> based on<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11"> Android 11</a> soon. However, unfortunately Galaxy A70 isn&#8217;t present in the list of A series devices to get <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/18/heres-the-official-list-of-samsung-galaxy-devices-eligible-for-three-generations-of-android-updates/">updates up to three years</a>. If you are someone living in Ukraine currently, you can try updating the Galaxy A70 by navigating to <strong>Settings-&gt;Software Updates-&gt;Download and Install.</strong></p>

The new update brings the November 2020 security patch and a lot of features to the device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-334563" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-M31s-.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M31s" width="1043" height="597" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-M31s-.jpg 1043w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-M31s--300x172.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-M31s--768x440.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-M31s--1024x586.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-M31s--696x398.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-M31s--734x420.jpg 734w" sizes="(max-width: 1043px) 100vw, 1043px" /></p>
<p>The update, as reported by <em><a href="https://www.tizenhelp.com/galaxy-m31s-receives-alt-z-life-features-in-one-ui-2-5-update/">Tizenhelp</a></em>(via <em><a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/secure-folder-debuts-on-m-series-galaxy-m31s-one-ui-2-5-update/">Sammobile</a></em>) has firmware version <strong>M317FXXU2BTK1</strong>. As per the report, the update weighs under 750MB and brings a slew of features to the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-m31s">Galaxy M31s</a>. Some of them include a Split keyboard(landscape mode), SOS messages, Camera improvements, and more.</p>
<p>What is highlighting is that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-2.5">One UI 2.5</a> update changelog for Galaxy M31s shows features like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/AltZLife"><strong>AlTZLife</strong></a>. Also, the addition of <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-secure-foler"><strong>Secure Folder</strong></a> is the first of its kind for a Galaxy M series device.  For the unware, AltZLife will allow users to switch between normal and private mode by double-pressing the power key. Some of its features include <strong>Quick Switch</strong> and <strong>Content Suggestions</strong>.</p>
<p>Previously, Samsung rolled out an update for Galaxy <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-a51/">A51 </a>and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-a71/">A71</a> that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/10/samsung-introduces-altzlife-quick-switch-content-suggestions-features-for-galaxy-a51-a71/">brought the AlTZLife</a> features to those A-series devices. Besides, Secure Folder is for storing private data, apps, and more. Having said that, the inclusion of these features to Galaxy M31s suggests that the gap between <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-core">One UI Core</a> and fully-loaded <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui">One UI</a> is starting to shrink.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the update for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m31s/">Galaxy M31s</a> also includes features like Bitmoji stickers on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/AOD">AOD</a>(Always On Display). Additionally, the camera app also gets improved performance to Single Take and Pro Mode. Precisely, features like Pro Video, AR Emoji, AR Doodle, Scene optimizer, SmartScan should work well now.</p>
<p>Anyway, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> is reportedly rolling out the update to countries like India, Russia, and Ukraine. You can download the update by navigating to <strong>Settings-&gt;Software Update-&gt;Download and Install</strong>.</p>

The new update for the Galaxy M31 brings the new UI version and Security patch along with few other improvements.</p>

<p>Our device got the update that has a firmware version <strong>M315FXXU2ATJ9</strong> and weighs  ~984MB. However, unlike Sammobile <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-popular-galaxy-m31-getting-one-ui-2-5-firmware-update/">says</a>, our unit got the October 1, 2020 Security Patch, and not November. Besides, as the report says, the update is currently rolling out in India but we don&#8217;t know the ETA for other regions yet.</p>
<p>That said, just like the M21, the update for <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m31">Galaxy M31</a> also brings a few improvements to Messages, Keyboard, and Camera. First off is the Samsung Keyboard. The new update brings several features like input-language Search Function, split keyboard on Landscape Mode. You can check the changelog of the update <a href="https://doc.samsungmobile.com/sm-m315f/ins/doc.html">here</a> or in the images below.</p>

<p>Further, the Messages section now gets an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sos-messages">SOS message</a> feature. It allows users to share SOS-location every 30 minutes for a day. Additionally, the update also has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/camera">Camera</a> improvements and stability. Previously, the Galaxy M31 also got <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-2.1">One UI Core 2.1</a> update last month which brought features like Single Take, Night Hyperlapse, My Filters, and more.</p>
<p>Samsung unveiled the One UI 2.5 based on Android 10 with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/05/samsung-galaxy-note-20-galaxy-note-20-ultra-are-official/">Galaxy Note 20 series</a>. Initially, we <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/22/these-samsung-galaxy-devices-will-get-one-ui-2-5-update/">thought</a> the update will roll out only to its Galaxy Note, S, and Z series of devices. However, the company surprised us by rolling it out to mid-range smartphones like Galaxy <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/19/samsung-galaxy-a51-one-ui-2-5-update/">A51</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/15/samsung-galaxy-a71-one-ui-2-5-update/">A71</a>.</p>
<p>That said this is an OTA update and hence, it should reach you within a few days. You can check for it in the System Update section inside Settings.</p>

<p>From the screenshots, we can note that the Samsung Keyboard brings several features like input-language Search Function, split keyboard on Landscape Mode. Further, the Messages section now gets an <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sos-messages">SOS message</a> feature. It allows users to share SOS-location every 30 minutes for a day. Additionally, the update also has <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/camera">Camera</a> improvements and stability.  But we aren&#8217;t sure if that will impact performance just yet.</p>
<p>That said, the new One UI 2.5 update for Galaxy M21 is a surprising move considering its higher-priced siblings like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/10/samsung-galaxy-m51-india-launch-7000mah-battery-snapdragon-730g/">Galaxy M51</a> themselves launched with One UI Core 2.1. And are yet to get the next version.
<p>Anyway, the official <a href="https://doc.samsungmobile.com/sm-m215f/ins/doc.html">changelog</a> says the update started seeding out on November 3(yesterday). Hence, it might take a few days to reach everyone via an OTA update. Meanwhile, you can check if your device has got it by visiting the <strong>System Update </strong>section in Settings.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 are Samsung’s best-selling smartphones of 2020. <p><span style="font-weight: 400">Now, the duo is also receiving the latest stable version of its Android skin &#8211; One UI 2.5. <p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to </span><a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-a51-now-receiving-one-ui-2-5-update-october-2020-security-patch/"><span style="font-weight: 400">SamMobile</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, the Android 10-based One UI 2.5 update for Galaxy A51 comes with firmware version </span><b>A515FXXU4CTJ1</b><span style="font-weight: 400">. The new OTA update for the handset also bumps up the security patch level to October 2020.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">That said, although the canagelog for the update is unavailable as of now, we expect the new software build to bring a similar set of features like the build that is being rolled out to Galaxy A71.</span></p>
