OnePlus 10R was launched at the end of last month in India. The smartphone is basically a rebranded OnePlus Ace which debuted earlier in China.

Now, just 11 days after its launch, the device has received its first Android update with firmware version CPH2411_11.A.03, getting rid of some bugs and bringing better optimization to some aspects of its smartphones.

OnePlus has posted the update notification on its community forum listing all the changes coming to the device.

OnePlus 10R specs & features

The OnePlus 10R comes has a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+ support.

Under the hood, the device houses a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device runs on Android 12-based OxygenOS 12.1 and comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 150W SuperVOOC fast charging via USB-C. There is also another version of the smartphone which comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging

For optics, the smartphone comes with a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor and OIS support. It has an 8MP IMX355 ultra-wide camera and a 2MP Galaxycore GC02M1 macro snapper. On the front, the device has a 16MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3P9 shooter.

The device starts from ₹38,999 (~$510) for the 8GB + 128GB model, while the 12GB + 256GB version costs ₹42,999 (~$556). The 12GB + 258GB configuration with 150W fast charging has a price tag of ₹43,999 (~$569).

The OnePlus 10R was recently announced for the Indian market. It was the first phone from the brand to arrive with some notable specs, like 150W fast charging support, and now it is finally available for purchase in the region.

Talking about the smartphone first, the OnePlus 10R (AKA Ace in China) sports a 6.7 inch AMOLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ support, among various other features. It is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device runs on Android 12 OS based ColorOS 12.1 custom skin out of the box.

Under the hood, a large 4,500mAh battery pack powers the device, which supports a whopping 150W fast charging rate. Although, this feature is only limited to the 12GB + 256GB Sierra Black model of the 10R. The other variants pack a large 5,000mAh battery but have a slower 80W fast charging support. For photography, the OnePlus 10R features a 50 megapixel triple camera setup on the rear, while the front houses a 16 megapixel selfie shooter.

As of right now, the device is available for purchase in India from Amazon and on the company’s official website as well. The device starts from 38,999 INR for the 8GB + 128GB model, while the 12GB + 256GB version costs 42,999 INR. Both variants are available in Sierra Black and Forrest Green color options. Notably, the OnePlus 10R Endurance Edition with 150W fast charging has a price tag of 43,999 INR but only comes in a Sierra Black color option.

OnePlus has unveiled the OnePlus 10R in India, signalling the release of the premium mid-range model for the global market. The OnePlus 10R is the same as the OnePlus Ace that was launched in China last week except for a few features that are not available on the Indian version.

The OnePlus 10R has a 6.7-inch OLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, the display supports a 360Hz touch sampling rate and a 720Hz gaming touch sampling rate.

The OnePlus 10R is a mid-range offering going by its Dimensity chipset and sports a new design quite distinct from previous OnePlus smartphones. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX chipset and features a monster 150W fast charging. The phone comes with enhanced handling capabilities with its 2.5D step processing subtle edge arc. It has a flat-edged frame with rounded corners with the rear panel having a mixture of two colors. The triple camera and LED flash are housed in the top left part of the back panel and looks unique.

The OnePlus 10R comes in three memory options instead of four on the Ace. There is an 8GB+128GB option, as well as a 12GB+128GB and 12GB+512GB options. The premium smartphone is be available in two color options namely Sierra black and light blue. OnePlus has included an independent graphics chip to complement the onboard graphics which is important in gaming applications. The OnePlus 10R thus boasts of high in-game frame rates with the certified HyperBoost stabilization engine.

The OnePlus 10R triple camera setup has a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The front-facing camera is a 16MP lens.

The OnePlus 10R runs on Android 12-based OxygenOS 12.1 and it comes with a 4,500mAh battery. The battery can be recharged at 150W SuperVOOC fast charging via USB-C. It can thus be fully charged within 17 minutes.

It should be noted that the 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB options pack a 5000mAh battery and supports only 80W fast charging. The 150W fast charging support is only for the 12GB+512GB option.In addition, OnePlus says the battery has the TUV Rheinland certification of safe fast charging. The battery is also claimed to retain up to 80% of its potential after 4 years. Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, dual 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, GPS, and NFC are all supported in the OnePlus 10R. User security is enhanced with an in-display fingerprint reader. The 10R also comes with a vapor chamber with a large cooling area.

Pricing & Availability

As for the pricing details, the OnePlus 10R starts at Rs 38,999 (~$508) for the 8GB+128GB model with 80W fast charging. The 12GB+256GB option also packing 80W charging is priced at Rs 42,999 (~$560). Finally, the 12GB+512GB version with 150W SuperVOOC flash charging carries a price tag of Rs 43,999 (~$574). The premium device will be sold via OnePlus’ website, Amazon, Reliance stores, Chroma stores, and select partner stores starting May 4 at 12 noon.

Oneplus will be holding a launch event in India later this week. The brand has confirmed to announce two smartphones and a pair of truly wireless earphones at this conference. One of these phones will be the Oneplus 10R.

The upcoming Oneplus 10R will be the successor of the Oneplus 9R from last year. The device has already gone official in China last week. It is known as Oneplus Ace in its home country.

Let’s take a look at everything that’s known about this handset before its official announcement a few days later.

Oneplus 10R Launch Date

The Oneplus 10R is scheduled to launch in India on  April 27. The event will begin at 7 PM IST. It will be live-streamed on the company’s official Youtube channel.

The smartphone will be accompanied by yet another handset called Oneplus Nord CE 2 Lite and a new pair of truly wireless earphones called Oneplus Nord Buds. The latter product is nothing but the international version of Oneplus Buds N.

Oneplus 10R Design

The Oneplus 10R will look identical to the Oneplus Ace since both are basically the same phone for different markets. This means its rear camera system will be placed in a triangular fashion and it will lack the iconic alert slider. 

The device will feature a glass sandwich build with a plastic frame. According to a tipster, it will be available in three colors, namely Arctic Glow, Green, and Sierra Black.

The volume keys will reside on the left side, while the power button will be on the right. Finally, it will measure around 163.3 × 75.5 × 8.2 mm in dimensions and weigh about 186g.

Oneplus 10R Specifications

The Oneplus 10R will flaunt a 6.7-inch flexible OLED panel with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels and a 394 PPI. The screen will offer up to a 120Hz refresh rate, 950 nits local peak brightness, and a 1000000: 1 contrast ratio. The centered punch-hole display will have a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The smartphone will be powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It will boot OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 12 out of the box.

The phone will be available in two battery variants. The 5,000mAh model will be limited to 80W charging as opposed to 150W charging on the 4,500mAh variant.

The triple rear camera setup of the handset will comprise an OIS-assisted 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP Galaxycore GC02M1 macro snapper. On the front, the punch-hole will nest a 16MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3P9 shooter.

Connectivity options on the device will include dual SIM card slots, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, and USB 2.0 (Type-C). It will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, and a custom-made x-axis linear vibration motor.

Oneplus 10R Expected Price

According to a leak, the Oneplus 10R will be available in two memory configurations in India. The lower model will have 80W charging support and the higher version will arrive with 150 charging support.

They are said to retail at the following price tags in the country.

• 12GB + 256GB (150W Charging) – ₹44,999 ($587)

OnePlus has scheduled a launch event in India on the 28th of April where the company will unveil the OnePlus 10R and the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite smartphones. The brand is also expected to debut the OnePlus Nord Buds and the OnePlus Buds N.

OnePlus has also confirmed that the OnePlus 10R will come in two charging variants – 80W and 150W. Now, ahead of the launch event, the prices of the OnePlus 10R and the Nord CE 2 Lite have been tipped.

According to a tweet from tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Nord CE 2 Lite will start at Rs 19,999 ($261) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB+128GB variant will cost Rs 21,999 ($288).

Tipster Yogesh Brar on the other hand states that the base configuration model of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite will cost Rs 17,999 ($235) and the 8GB model will cost Rs 19,999 ($261). It is still not clear which of these quoted price tags will actually materialize during the launch, but it appears we can expect the device to start under Rs 20,000.

Brar has also stated that the OnePlus 10R will have a starting price of Rs 38,999 ($510) for the 8GB + 128GB configuration and the 12GB + 258GB configuration will cost Rs 44,999 ($588). Other than that, Brar has tipped that the OnePlus Nord Buds will be priced at Rs 2,999 ($39) in India.

So far, the rumors surrounding the OnePlus 10R state that the device will come with a 6.7-inch E4 AMOLED display with a Full HD+ screen resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a punch-hole cutout in the top-center of the screen for the front camera.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX processor, coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It will come in two memory variants — 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage.

There will be a triple-camera setup on the back panel, which will feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, the smartphone will have a 16-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5K3P9SP lens for taking selfies and video calling.

The OnePlus 10R is expected to run the Android 12 operating system with the company’s own OxygenOS on top.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite specifications (rumored)

The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G will arrive with a 6.58-inch LCD FHD+ display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It will feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a 64-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit. The Snapdragon 695 powered device will come with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. It will house a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G will boot Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 out of the box and will lack the iconic alert slider.

The Oneplus 10R will be the successor of the OnePlus 9R that launched last year. The smartphone is tipped to come with a 6.7-inch E4 AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It will have a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

Under the hood, the device is said to employ the new MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC paired with 8GB / 128GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It is said to come with a triple camera system at the rear with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main lens, an 8MP IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, it will equip a 16MP S5K3P9SP lens for selfies.

The phone is touted to house a 4,500mAh battery with 150W fast charging support. This will be similar to the recently launched Realme GT Neo3. It is also expected to come in another variant with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging support.

It will reportedly run on Android 12 OS and have OxygenOS 12 on top. Unfortunately, the phone will not have the alert slider and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will have NFC support and a stereo speaker setup tuned by Dolby Atmos.
