<p>In a recent Weibo post, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) claimed that, apart from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/06/03/xiaomi-18-vivo-x500-oppo-find-x10-series-september-launch-tipped/">Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo</a> are also planning to launch their next-generation flagship smartphones in September. Now, a fresh leak suggests that a few more flagship devices, which were previously expected to debut in October or November, could also be brought forward to September.</p>

<h3><strong>What to expect this September?</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="226" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-36-1024x226.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-740930" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-36-1024x226.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-36-300x66.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-36-768x169.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-36-696x153.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-36-1068x235.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-36.png 1167w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to DCS&#8217; latest Weibo post, one smartphone sub-brand under a major Chinese manufacturer has already decided to advance the launch of its next flagship to the third quarter of 2026. While the tipster did not name the brand, it is believed that he may be referring to the Redmi K100 series. In an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/05/15/redmi-k100-series-launch-before-xiaomi-18/">earlier post</a>, DCS had suggested that the next-generation K100 lineup could arrive ahead of schedule in Q3.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="216" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-37-1024x216.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-740931" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-37-1024x216.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-37-300x63.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-37-768x162.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-37-696x147.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-37-1068x225.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-37.png 1319w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="263" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-38-1024x263.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-740932" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-38-1024x263.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-38-300x77.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-38-768x197.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-38-696x179.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-38-1068x275.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-38.png 1330w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The tipster further claims that the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16">OnePlus 16</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/iqoo-16">iQOO 16</a> may also be moved up to September. He adds that regulatory filings and product development timelines are being accelerated, indicating that several flagship launches could take place earlier than originally planned.</p>

<p>If these claims prove accurate, September could become one of the busiest months of the year for flagship smartphone launches. Brands are likely aiming to position their devices as alternatives to the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series, which is expected to launch in September, following Apple&#8217;s usual release schedule.</p>

<p>That said, readers should treat these claims with caution. While some brands may currently be targeting a September launch window, final launch schedules could still shift to October or November.</p>

<p>An earlier debut in China could also pave the way for faster global rollouts. If these flagship devices launch in September or during the first few weeks of October, there is a strong possibility that their global variants could arrive before the end of the year.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus-2/">OnePlus</a> 15 is a good performance-focused phone, but it has been criticized for lacking major upgrades in the camera department. Rumors surrounding its successor, the OnePlus 16, suggest that it will have an impressive set of cameras onboard. Here&#8217;s a look at what the new leak reveals about its camera specifications.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 16 camera details tipped again</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="285" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-29-1024x285.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-740882" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-29-1024x285.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-29-300x83.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-29-768x213.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-29-696x193.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-29-1068x297.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/image-29.png 1126w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Previous reports have suggested that the OnePlus 16 will be equipped with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/05/27/oneplus-16-185hz-display-200mp-camera-leak/">a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera</a>. However, a new leak from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that OnePlus is testing another camera configuration for its upcoming OnePlus 16 flagship smartphone.</p>

<p>According to the tipster, the prototype features a 200-megapixel large-sensor primary camera, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. DCS further asked followers whether they would prefer a 200-megapixel primary camera or a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, hinting that the final decision may not have been made yet.</p>

<p>Since the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16">OnePlus 16</a> will also be a performance-oriented phone, the company is unlikely to include two 200-megapixel cameras on the device. Hopefully, upcoming reports will provide more clarity about its camera capabilities.</p>

<p>As for other specifications, the OnePlus 16 is said to feature a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel offering a 1.5K resolution, a 185Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it will reportedly have the forthcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro</a> chip along with a massive 9,000mAh battery.</p>

<p>The OnePlus 16 is expected to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. As a next-generation device, it is expected to ship with Android 17-based ColorOS 17 in China and OxygenOS 17 in global markets when it launches. Other rumored features include an X-axis bionic vibration motor, symmetrical dual speakers, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, and IP68/69-rated dust and water resistance.</p>

A new leak, courtesy of tipster Smart Pikachu, appears to reveal a more accurate refresh rate. Here’s a look at the details that have emerged in the latest leak.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 16 key specifications tipped</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="224" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-158-1024x224.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-739920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-158-1024x224.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-158-300x66.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-158-768x168.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-158-696x152.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-158-1068x234.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-158.png 1173w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>According to the tipster, the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16">OnePlus 16</a> is currently being evaluated with a 185Hz display featuring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/24/oneplus-16-tipped-to-feature-sub-1mm-bezels-on-all-sides/">ultra-narrow bezels on all four sides</a>. The device is also said to include a 3x periscope telephoto camera with a 200-megapixel sensor, along with a dedicated AI button.</p>

<p>While the specifications are still part of the engineering validation stage, the leak suggests that OnePlus is focusing heavily on display smoothness, imaging upgrades, and AI-driven features for its next-generation flagship.</p>

<p>Previous reports have revealed that the OnePlus 16 may feature a BOE-supplied 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel equipped with a custom touch control IC and support for the BT.2020 color gamut.</p>

<p>Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 may feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro</a> chip, which could bring support for LPDDR6 RAM. It is also said to pack a massive battery of around 9,000mAh, although charging details have not appeared in any leaks yet. However, it would not be surprising if the device continues to offer 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, similar to the previous generation.</p>

<p>As for optics, apart from the 200-megapixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/04/06/oneplus-16-200mp-periscope-camera-samsung-hp5/">Samsung HP5</a> periscope telephoto camera, the rear setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor. Other rumored features include an X-axis bionic vibration motor, symmetrical dual speakers, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, and IP68/69-rated dust and water resistance.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus</a> hasn&#8217;t said anything official about the OnePlus 16 yet, but leaks out of China keep coming. The latest one, from tipster <em>Digital Chat Station </em>on Weibo, reveals key specs of the phone, and they line up pretty well with everything we&#8217;ve heard before.</p>

<p>According to the leak, the OnePlus 16 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, which carries the model code SM8975. It’s an up-and-coming chip from Qualcomm expected to reach 5GHz clock speed. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-1024x640.png?x44794" alt="" width="578" height="361" /><figcaption>OnePlus 15</figcaption></figure></div>

<h2><strong>OnePlus 16 again tipped with ultra-high refresh rate</strong></h2>

<p>On the display side, earlier leaks suggested a minimum refresh rate of 185Hz, with OnePlus reportedly evaluating <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/28/oneplus-16-tipped-with-240hz-display-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro-200mp-triple-cameras-more/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">support up to 240Hz</a>. The new leak confirms a BOE flat screen with an &#8220;ultra-high refresh rate,&#8221; which is consistent. </p>

<p>The panel is also said to use LTPO and LIPO packaging technologies to reduce bezels to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/24/oneplus-16-tipped-to-feature-sub-1mm-bezels-on-all-sides/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">around 1mm </a>on all four sides. Whether it actually ships with 240Hz support is still unclear; the company is apparently still testing it.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="320" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/OnePlus-16-leak-200MP-camera-9000mAh-battery.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus 16 leak 200MP camera 9000mAh battery" class="wp-image-737486" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/OnePlus-16-leak-200MP-camera-9000mAh-battery.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/OnePlus-16-leak-200MP-camera-9000mAh-battery-300x107.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/OnePlus-16-leak-200MP-camera-9000mAh-battery-768x273.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/OnePlus-16-leak-200MP-camera-9000mAh-battery-696x247.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>OnePlus 15</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>As for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/03/05/oneplus-16-camera-specifications-seemingly-revealed/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">camera</a>, the tipster reiterates that it will feature a 200MP periscope telephoto unit. Previous leak suggests the sensor could be in the 1/1.x-inch territory. The rest of the rear camera system is expected to include a 50MP primary and a 50MP ultrawide.</p>

<p>The OnePlus is also expected to get a major battery upgrade. <em>Digital Chat Station</em>&#8216;s latest post mentions a maximum of 9,000mAh. A separate tipster <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/19/oneplus-16-leaks-200mp-camera-200hz-display-9000mah-battery/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">previously claimed</a> the same figure, so there&#8217;s at least some agreement there. The phone is also said to include a bionic X-axis vibration motor, symmetrical dual speakers, full water resistance, and a dedicated AI button.</p>

<p>As for software, the OnePlus 16 is expected to ship with OxygenOS 17 on top of Android 17. The phone is reportedly targeting a China launch in October, though no date has been confirmed.</p>

<p>Several reports have suggested that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus</a> 16, which is expected to debut in China in October this year, will bring improvements across multiple areas. One of the biggest upgrades is said to be the display, as its refresh rate is expected to surpass the 165Hz panel found on the OnePlus 15. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station shared fresh details about what appears to be the OnePlus 16.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 16’s display and chipset details leaked</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="350" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-1024x350.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-735966" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-1024x350.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-300x103.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-768x262.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-1536x525.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-696x238.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-1068x365.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185-1229x420.png 1229w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-185.png 1577w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>OnePlus 16&#8217;s display and chipset details leaked by DCS</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to the leak, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16/">OnePlus 16</a> could feature a new 6.78-inch custom BOE LTPO flat display with a 1.5K resolution. The panel is said to use LIPO packaging technology, allowing for extremely slim and symmetrical bezels on all four sides, reportedly <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/24/oneplus-16-tipped-to-feature-sub-1mm-bezels-on-all-sides/">measuring around 1mm</a>.</p>

<p>The display is also tipped to offer a very high refresh rate, with 185Hz said to be the minimum target, while the company is reportedly <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/28/oneplus-16-tipped-with-240hz-display-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro-200mp-triple-cameras-more/">evaluating support for up to 240Hz</a>. The leak further claims that the phone may use a custom touch control IC and could support the BT.2020 color gamut. The tipster describes the panel as a “full-package flagship display” in terms of technology and specifications.</p>

<p>The device is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975) chip, which means it could also feature the latest LPDDR6 RAM. With this chip onboard, the device is expected to r<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/04/09/iqoo-16-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro-leak/">ival the iQOO 16</a>, which is also rumored to be a performance-focused flagship powered by the same chipset.</p>

<p>Coming back to the OnePlus 16, its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/03/05/oneplus-16-camera-specifications-seemingly-revealed/">rear camera setup</a> is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/04/06/oneplus-16-200mp-periscope-camera-samsung-hp5/">200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera</a>. Recent leaks have also suggested that its battery capacity may reach <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/19/oneplus-16-leaks-200mp-camera-200hz-display-9000mah-battery/">around the 9,000mAh mark</a>.</p>

<p>As a next-generation flagship, the OnePlus 16 may ship with OxygenOS 17 based on Android 17. Its base variant is likely to arrive with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and it could be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/03/04/oneplus-16-iqoo-16-and-redmi-k100-pro-all-tipped-to-launch-at-higher-starting-prices/">priced at around 5,000 Yuan (~$730)</a>.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus</a> appears to be preparing the OnePlus 16 flagship with a strong focus on imaging, as the previous generation featured subpar cameras. A new leak reveals that the OnePlus 16 may bring a notable upgrade to its telephoto camera setup. Here’s a look at what to expect from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16">OnePlus 16’s</a> cameras.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 16 to feature familiar 200MP periscope telephoto camera</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="229" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-32-1024x229.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-733376" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-32-1024x229.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-32-300x67.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-32-768x172.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-32-696x156.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-32-1068x239.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-32.png 1152w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to Smart Pikachu on Weibo, a 200-megapixel imaging solution originally associated with Realme has now appeared in OnePlus’ development pipeline. Earlier reports have indicated that this 200-megapixel periscope unit may use the Samsung HP5 sensor, which Realme has used on phones like the Realme 16 Pro series and Realme GT 8 Pro.</p>

<p>Other reports have revealed that the OnePlus 16’s camera system is also likely to include two additional 50-megapixel sensors for the main and ultra-wide lenses, forming a balanced triple-camera setup.</p>

<p>In addition to camera upgrades, the OnePlus 16 is expected to bring significant improvements in performance. Its display is likely to support 1.5K resolution with a high refresh rate, possibly reaching up to 200Hz or higher. &nbsp; The device could be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro</a> chipset, built on an advanced 2nm process.</p>

<p>The chipset is expected to be paired with LPDDR6 RAM, which may offer a substantial increase in bandwidth compared to current standards. This could improve multitasking, gaming, and on-device AI processing. Additional features may include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and OxygenOS 17 based on Android 17.</p>

<p>There is a possibility that the rising component costs may result in higher pricing, with early estimates suggesting a starting price of around 5,000 Yuan (~$725). It is expected to launch in China around October, followed by a global rollout in November.</p>

<p>This month, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus</a> will unveil the OnePlus 15T, a compact flagship phone. In all likelihood, it will be the last phone in the OnePlus 15 series. The company will shift its focus to the OnePlus 16 lineup in the second half of 2026, and early reports suggest that the OnePlus 16 will offer top-notch performance. A new leak that has surfaced today not only supports this claim but also reveals a key detail about its camera.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 16’s chipset, RAM, and periscope camera tipped</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="978" height="292" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-30.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-730213" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-30.png 978w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-30-300x90.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-30-768x229.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-30-696x208.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 978px) 100vw, 978px" /></figure>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="966" height="119" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-31.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-730214" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-31.png 966w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-31-300x37.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-31-768x95.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-31-696x86.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 966px) 100vw, 966px" /></figure></div>

<p>As per the leak, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16">OnePlus 16</a> will be powered by the upcoming 2nm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro</a> (SM8975), which will have support for LPDDR6 RAM. Reports have revealed that LPDDR6 will roughly double the maximum bandwidth of the original LPDDR5, jumping from a peak of 6.4 Gbps to as high as 14.4 Gbps, while specifically optimizing for the massive data throughput required by on-device generative AI.</p>

<p>The inclusion of the said chipset accompanied by the latest RAM suggests that the OnePlus 16 will arrive with a significant boost in overall performance and efficiency. With rising memory costs, the inclusion of LPDDR6 also suggests a price hike. Recently, DCS claimed that the 12GB+256GB base model of the device may cost around 5,000 Yuan (~$725).</p>

<p>Multiple reports have said that the OnePlus 16 will be equipped with a 200-megapixel camera. Today’s leak says that the OP16 will feature a 200-megapixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/02/oneplus-16-might-be-getting-a-major-telephoto-camera-upgrade/">periscope telephoto camera</a>, which could feature the Samsung HP5 sensor as per previous reports. Likely, the camera setup may include two 50-megapixel cameras for the main and ultra-wide cameras, respectively.</p>

<p>Past reports have claimed that the OnePlus 16’s OLED panel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/24/oneplus-16-tipped-to-feature-sub-1mm-bezels-on-all-sides/">may support 1.5K resolution</a> along with a 200Hz or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/28/oneplus-16-tipped-with-240hz-display-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro-200mp-triple-cameras-more/">240Hz refresh rate</a>, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. The phone is expected to ship with OxygenOS 17-based Android 17.</p>

<p>Early reports suggest that the OnePlus 16 may launch in October in China, followed by a global announcement in November.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="262" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/iQOO-16-200MP-camera-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729938" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/iQOO-16-200MP-camera-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/iQOO-16-200MP-camera-leak-300x87.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/iQOO-16-200MP-camera-leak-768x224.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/iQOO-16-200MP-camera-leak-696x203.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The tipster also claims that only the iQOO 16 is currently in testing, while the successor to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/iqoo-15-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iQOO 15 Ultra </a>has yet to appear in testing.</p>

<h2><strong>OnePlus 16 could also get a 200MP main lens</strong></h2>

<p>Interestingly, the same tipster says the OnePlus 16 could feature a similar camera setup. That is, a 200-megapixel main sensor paired with a 50-megapixel periscope lens. The OnePlus 15, by comparison, uses 50-megapixel sensors for both its main and periscope cameras.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="262" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/OnePlus-16-camera-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729939" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/OnePlus-16-camera-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/OnePlus-16-camera-leak-300x87.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/OnePlus-16-camera-leak-768x224.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/OnePlus-16-camera-leak-696x203.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Back to the iQOO 16, the phone is also tipped to upgrade its display resolution <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/01/vivo-x500-iqoo-16-2k-resolution-screen/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">from 1.5K to 2K.</a></p>

<p>There’s currently no word on the rest of the phone’s specifications. As a performance-focused flagship, however, it could feature the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor along with a large battery.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="769" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-769x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="iQOO 15" class="wp-image-718811" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-769x1024.jpg 769w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-768x1023.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-1153x1536.jpg 1153w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-1537x2048.jpg 1537w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-696x927.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-1068x1423.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear-315x420.jpg 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/iQOO-15-rear.jpg 1769w" sizes="(max-width: 769px) 100vw, 769px" /><figcaption>iQOO 15 &#8211; Legend </figcaption></figure></div>

<p>As we mentioned earlier, a price increase also seems plausible. A previous report suggests that upcoming flagship phones that will use 2nm chips could start at around 5,000 yuan (roughly $725).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/10/big-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-leak-reveals-block-diagram-months-ahead-of-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 i</a>s rumored to be built on a 2nm process, the iQOO 16 could fall into that category. For comparison, the iQOO 15 launched at 4,199 yuan.</p>

<p>For now, we’ll have to wait for more leaks to shed light on the iQOO 16’s internals.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus</a> is expected to unveil the OnePlus 16 in October this year in China. Since the OnePlus 15 was criticized for having underwhelming cameras, recent rumors suggest that its successor could arrive with significantly improved camera hardware. To recall, in December 2025, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the OnePlus 16 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/31/oneplus-16-200hz-display-200-megapixel-camera-leak/">may feature the same imaging</a> setup expected to debut on the upcoming Find N6 foldable phone. Now, a new leak has surfaced revealing the rear camera configuration of the N6, offering a glimpse of what the OnePlus 16 could bring in terms of photography.</p>

<h3><strong>Oppo Find N6 / OnePlus 16 camera specs tipped</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="344" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-25-1024x344.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-729597" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-25-1024x344.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-25-300x101.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-25-768x258.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-25-696x234.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/image-25.png 1053w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Oppo Find N6 camera specs tipped</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>As per the <a href="https://weibo.com/5684285457/QumzRCnfd?pagetype=profilefeed">leak</a>, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n6">Oppo Find N6</a> will feature a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS support. It will be accompanied by a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.7 aperture and OIS support.</p>

<p>There is a possibility that the same 200-megapixel triple camera setup could also appear on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16">OnePlus 16</a>. These cameras may not necessarily deliver the same level of photography experience as Pro or Ultra-branded flagship phones. However, if the leak proves accurate, the OnePlus 16 could still deliver a strong camera experience, especially considering that the device may be positioned primarily as a performance-focused flagship.</p>

<p>Speaking of performance, the OnePlus 16 is expected to feature the next-generation <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6</a> chipset. Some reports also suggest that the device may pack a massive 9,000mAh battery.</p>

<p>The display could also see an upgrade. The OnePlus 16 is rumored to feature a 200Hz or 240Hz OLED panel offering a 1.5K resolution and ultra-thin bezels <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/02/24/oneplus-16-tipped-to-feature-sub-1mm-bezels-on-all-sides/">measuring less than 1mm</a>. As a next-generation flagship, the device is expected to run on OxygenOS 17 based on Android 17. This phone may carry a starting price of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/03/04/oneplus-16-iqoo-16-and-redmi-k100-pro-all-tipped-to-launch-at-higher-starting-prices/">4,999 Yuan (~$725).</a></p>

<p>A new leak out of China suggests the upcoming OnePlus 16 could feature bezels measuring under 1mm on all sides. Some measurements even point to around 0.8mm. If that number holds, it would be an incremental but noticeable improvement over the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-15/">OnePlus 15</a>, which already had impressively slim 1.15mm borders.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-728215" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OnePlus-16-display-news-1.png 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>On paper, shaving off a few tenths of a millimeter doesn’t sound dramatic. But visually, it can make a difference. Ultra-thin symmetrical bezels tend to create that “all display” look that makes content feel more immersive, especially when you’re watching videos or gaming in landscape.</p>

<p>The latest leak mostly focuses on the bezels, so full display specs are still unclear. That said, earlier rumors have mentioned a flat 1.5K LTPO OLED panel, possibly sourced from BOE again. There’s also talk of refresh rates going <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/28/oneplus-16-tipped-with-240hz-display-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro-200mp-triple-cameras-more/">as high as 240Hz</a>.</p>

<p>Whether 240Hz actually makes it to the final retail unit is another question. Manufacturers often test higher refresh panels, but power consumption and real-world benefit usually dictate the final number. Even so, anything above 165Hz would keep the OnePlus 16 firmly in “high-refresh flagship” territory.</p>

<p>Interestingly, OnePlus is reportedly avoiding more gaming-specific additions like shoulder triggers or built-in cooling fans. The direction seems clear: keep the design clean and premium rather than turning it into a niche gaming device.</p>

<p>Then there’s the battery rumor. Reports point to a massive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/19/oneplus-16-leaks-200mp-camera-200hz-display-9000mah-battery/">9,000mAh “Glacier” battery</a> using silicon-carbon technology. Silicon-carbon cells are known for higher energy density, so it’s not impossible. Still, until more concrete details surface, that figure is worth treating cautiously. It would be a major leap.</p>

<p>As expected, the OnePlus 16 should run Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chip. That would bring predictable year-on-year improvements in performance and power efficiency.</p>

<p>Camera rumors suggest a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and possibly a 200MP periscope telephoto. If accurate, that telephoto setup would be one of the more aggressive upgrades, especially for users who prioritize zoom performance.</p>

<p>As always, though, early leaks are best taken as a direction — not a guarantee.</p>

<p>OxygenOS 17 is said to be in the works as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus</a> prepares its next major software upgrade based on Android 17. Early leaks have begun to surface online, offering an initial glimpse into potential changes focused on performance optimization, smoother user interactions, and improved system efficiency ahead of the official announcement.</p>

<h3><strong>OxygenOS 17 early details and expected improvements</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="609" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16--1024x609.png?x44794" alt="OxygenOS 16" class="wp-image-727422" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16--1024x609.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16--300x178.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16--768x457.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16--696x414.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16--1068x635.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16--706x420.png 706w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/OxygenOS-16-.png 1128w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>OxygenOS 16</figcaption></figure>

<p>According to early leaks shared through a Telegram source tracking OnePlus software development, OxygenOS 17 could introduce a significant system-wide fluidity upgrade. The focus appears to be on improving responsiveness across everyday interactions, including smoother animations and reduced UI frame drops. Reports suggest that transitions throughout the interface may feel more consistent, which could enhance the overall perception of speed even without major hardware changes.</p>

<p>The update may improve zoom transitions while capturing photos and recording videos, reducing lag and making adjustments appear more seamless. These changes could help deliver a more polished camera experience, particularly during continuous zoom operations where sudden stutters can sometimes occur.</p>

<p>Beyond visual improvements, deeper system-level optimization is reportedly being worked on. CPU resource management is said to be refined to reduce unnecessary workload, while background app retention could improve multitasking by keeping more applications active without slowing down the device. Enhancements to garbage collection processes are also mentioned, potentially leading to faster app launches and fewer micro-stutters during extended usage.</p>

<h3><strong>Expected rollout timeline and device availability</strong></h3>

<p>Although OnePlus has not officially confirmed OxygenOS 17, the update is likely to arrive shortly after the stable release of Android 17. Historically, OnePlus has introduced its new OxygenOS version within months of Google’s Android launch, suggesting a possible announcement later in the year.</p>

<p>The upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-16">OnePlus 16</a> is likely to be the first device to ship with OxygenOS 17 pre-installed, while older compatible models may receive the update through phased rollouts. Since OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS share a common code base, similar enhancements could appear on Oppo devices as well.</p>

<p>Despite the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-15/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus 15 </a>launching just a couple of months ago, there have been plenty of early leaks for its successor. Now, a fresh tip has suggested that the OnePlus 16 is getting a significant camera upgrade, especially for its zoom lens. So here are all the details.</p>

<h2>OnePlus 16 leaks with 200MP telephoto camera</h2>

<p>The latest leak arrives from a post from <em><a href="https://x.com/OnePlusClub/status/2017544604586017207" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus Club</a></em> on X (formerly Twitter). In the tweet, the OnePlus 16 is reportedly getting a higher resolution and a larger sensor for zoomed photography. This new camera will be a 200MP shooter that has a 1/1.56-inch size, which is comparable to the OnePlus 15&#8217;s primary camera. To recall, the OnePlus 15 launched with a 50MP periscope telephoto shooter with a 3x optical zoom and a 1/2.75-inch sensor. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-1024x640.png?x44794" alt="OnePlus 15" class="wp-image-715084" width="768" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>OnePlus 15</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>In other words, we might be getting a meaningful boost for zoom photography, along with improved low light detail capture and overall imaging capabilities. This will also make the OnePlus 16 more in line with other Chinese flagships like the Oppo Find X9 Pro and Vivo X300 Pro that pack large telephoto shooters. While the focal length of the new sensor is unknown, the new 200MP resolution could signify a higher digital crop on OnePlus&#8217; next flagship.</p>

<p>This leak is also in line with some of our <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/28/oneplus-16-tipped-with-240hz-display-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro-200mp-triple-cameras-more/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">earlier reports</a>. The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch with a 240Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Pro, and 200MP triple cameras. However, the previous leak hinted at a 200MP primary camera with a 50MP ultra wide angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto shooter. Keep in mind that this is still quite an early leak, so take this news with a pinch of salt for now.</p>

<p>Even though <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus </a>only recently announced its latest flagship series, a big leak has hinted at some of the key specs of the next-gen OnePlus 16. This model is expected to get a notable upgrade over its predecessor, with new camera sensors, a smoother display, and faster performance. So here&#8217;s what we know.</p>

<h2>OnePlus 16 Leaked Specs</h2>

<p>The latest leak arrives from known tipster Debayan Roy, who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter). In his tweet, he claims that the next flagship from OnePlus will sport a blisteringly high refresh rate that could hit up to 240Hz. Although, it remains to be seen just which games would be able to take advantage of this super smooth refresh rate. This is reportedly still based on a flat LTPO OLED BOE X5 panel that has a 1.5K resolution, similar to the OnePlus 15. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/OnePlus-15-cameras.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-712797" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/OnePlus-15-cameras.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/OnePlus-15-cameras-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/OnePlus-15-cameras-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/OnePlus-15-cameras-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/OnePlus-15-cameras-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>OnePlus 15</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 might be equipped with Qualcomm&#8217;s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, which could be an evolution of the Elite series designed for the top end flagship performance. We can expect a notable performance bump over older flagship chips, especially in areas like GPU performance, CPU performance, improved efficiency, and better AI workloads. Powering the hardware is a massive 9,000mAh battery pack that could support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.</p>

<p>For optics, the camera setup is expected to get a new 200MP primary camera that is coupled with a 50MP ultra wide angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto shooter. The exact sensor details are unknown, so it is unclear whether the new cameras will be an upgrade in terms of sensor size. Other notable features rumored for the OnePlus 16 include an IP69 rating, USB 3 port, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. </p>

<p>We are nearing the end of January 2026, and already, a few phones have debuted. Some of the trends expected to be seen on phones this year include improved AI experiences, larger silicon-carbon batteries—with some brands already launching 10,000mAh and 9,000mAh battery phones—higher refresh rate displays, with some even expected to exceed the 200Hz mark, and more. One trend that is expected to be widely adopted by different smartphone brands is the 200-megapixel camera, with some even rumoured to offer dual 200-megapixel cameras.</p>

<h2><strong>Knowing the current 200MP sensors</strong></h2>

<p>There are a couple of existing and upcoming 200MP sensors, which include:</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung ISOCELL HP5</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/07/samsung-200mp-isocell-hp5-launched-specs-price/">Launched in October 2025</a>, the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 200-megapixel sensor has been made available on mid-range, mid-premium, and flagship phones since the latter half of 2025. On mid-tier phones like the Vivo V60e or performance-focused flagships like the iQOO Z11 Turbo, this 200-megapixel sensor is coupled with an ultra-wide camera. On mid-premium phones and flagships, it is paired with more powerful ultra-wide and telephoto cameras.</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung HPB (Custom Samsung ISOCELL HP9 variant)</strong></h3>

<p>The Samsung HPB is Vivo’s customized version of the existing Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor, which was launched in 2024. The Vivo X300 and X300 Pro are the only phones to feature this sensor so far. In the future as well, it is expected to remain exclusive to Vivo smartphones.</p>

<p>There are Samsung HP3 and HP2 200-megapixel cameras as well, but those are not expected to be widely used in 2026.</p>

<h3><strong>OmniVision OV52A</strong></h3>

<p>The upcoming OmniVision OV52A 200-megapixel camera sensor, which is reportedly built on a 40nm process, is a 1/2.8-inch sensor. Since it does not use AON (Alternating Optical Array), it is said to consume less power than the flagship-grade 50-megapixel OV50Q sensor. The OV52A is expected to appear on mid-range and even higher-end phones in 2026.</p>

<h3><strong>Sony LYT-901</strong></h3>

<p>Sony has already launched the Sony LYT-901 sensor, and it is expected to be seen on premium flagships this year. It is a 1/1.12-inch 200-megapixel stacked CMOS smartphone image sensor with 0.7µm pixels, Quad-Quad Bayer Coding, on-sensor AI remosaicing, all-pixel AF, and up to 4× in-sensor zoom.</p>

<p>Next, let’s have a look at all the 200-megapixel camera phones that are expected to launch this year.</p>

<h2><strong>All the 200MP camera phones (existing)</strong></h2>

<h3><strong>Vivo and iQOO</strong></h3>

<p>Starting October 2025, the 200-megapixel camera trend picked up by being made available on mid-range phones such as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-v60e">Vivo V60e</a> (globally available) and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-y500-pro">Vivo Y500 Pro</a> (confined to China). <p>Globally, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-15-pro-global/">Reno 15 Pro</a> / <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-15-pro-mini/">Reno 15 Pro Mini</a> / <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-15-pro-max/">Reno 15 Pro Max</a>, which are the same phones with different branding for different markets, feature a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 sensor. The global version of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-15-global/">Reno 15</a> also uses the same sensor.</p>

The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-500">Honor 500</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-500-pro">500 Pro</a>, which are currently available only in China, feature the Samsung HP3 200-megapixel camera sensor.</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung</strong></h3>

<p>The Galaxy Z TriFold, which is Samsung’s first tri-foldable phone, features the Samsung HP2 200-megapixel camera sensor.</p>

<h3><strong>Xiaomi</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-17-ultra">Xiaomi 17 Ultra</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-15-pro/">Redmi Note 15 Pro</a> (global), and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-15-pro-plus/">Redmi Note 15 Pro+</a> (global) are equipped with the 200-megapixel Samsung HPE sensor, which is reportedly based on the Samsung HP3. The Redmi Note 15 Pro series’ Chinese editions feature a 50-megapixel main camera.</p>

<p>Next, let’s have a look at all the upcoming 200MP camera phones.</p>

<p>After the launch of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-15/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus 15</a> in October, the company is reportedly preparing to launch a compact alternative in the form of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/19/oneplus-15t-launch-timeline-tipped-for-mid-march/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus 15T</a>. But we’re already moving past that, thanks to new leaks coming out of China. </p>

<p>According to tipster<em> Digital Chat Station</em> on Weibo, the OnePlus 16 could feature a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. That would be a significant upgrade from the 50MP telephoto sensor found on the OnePlus 15, if true. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-1024x640.png?x44794" alt="OnePlus 15" class="wp-image-715084" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-15.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The tipster also adds that the camera will use a much larger sensor—we suspect in the 1/1.x-inch range—compared to the current model’s relatively modest 1/2.76-inch sensor.</p>

<h2><strong>OnePlus 16 could also have 200Hz display, 9000mAh battery</strong></h2>

<p>Even more interesting is the claim that OnePlus is testing a 200Hz display. The company only recently leaned hard into 165Hz refresh rates with the OnePlus 15, so jumping straight to 200Hz is kind of crazy to think about. That said, even if the hardware is capable, apps would also need to support such high refresh rates to fully take advantage of it.</p>

<p>Another tidbit comes from a separate Weibo tipster who goes by the alias <em>Old Chen Air</em>. The insider claims that the OnePlus 16’s <em>Glacier</em> battery will have a massive 9,000mAh capacity. For context, the OnePlus 15 tops out at 7,300mAh. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="254" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-16-Camera-and-Display-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-724092" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-16-Camera-and-Display-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-16-Camera-and-Display-leak-300x85.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-16-Camera-and-Display-leak-768x217.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-16-Camera-and-Display-leak-696x196.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Taken together, the rumored specs suggest OnePlus is pushing hard on nearly every front with its next flagship. And that’s before factoring in the expected generational performance gains from Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset.</p>

<p>Of course, the OnePlus 16 is still months away from launch, and plans can change during development. As with all early leaks, it’s best to take these details with a healthy dose of skepticism.</p>

<p>Early talk around the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-16-2/">OnePlus 16</a> is starting to surface. A new leak suggests the company could reintroduce a higher-end “Pro” model—or possibly launch an “Ultra”—after skipping that tier for several generations.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="769" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu-769x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-722350" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu-769x1024.jpg 769w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu-768x1023.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu-696x927.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu-1068x1423.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu-315x420.jpg 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/G95_7P-bsAA2iRu.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 769px) 100vw, 769px" /></figure></div>

<p>The claim comes from X user @OnePlusClub, a source that has previously shared <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus</a>-related information. According to the tipster, the OnePlus 16 lineup may include a premium variant positioned above the standard model, with a possible launch window in late 2026.</p>

<p>The device is described as an &#8220;all rounder&#8221; flagship. That would mark a shift from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-15/">OnePlus 15</a>, which leaned heavily into performance and battery life, while making compromises elsewhere. In China, that approach also allowed OnePlus to price the phone lower than earlier flagships, but it wasn’t universally popular with long-time fans.</p>

<p>OnePlus hasn’t offered a “Pro” model in its numbered series since the OnePlus 10 Pro in 2022. Since then, the brand has focused on a single main flagship each year, while reserving experimental features for other product lines.</p>

<p>A return to a Pro or Ultra tier could be OnePlus’ way of addressing feedback from users who want a more no-compromise option. Separately, earlier leaks around the standard OnePlus 16 point to some ambitious upgrades, including a high-refresh-rate display and a possible <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/31/oneplus-16-200hz-display-200-megapixel-camera-leak/">200-megapixel main camera</a>, though those details remain unconfirmed.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="571" height="236" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Screenshot-2026-01-06-125212.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-722351" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Screenshot-2026-01-06-125212.png 571w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Screenshot-2026-01-06-125212-300x124.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 571px) 100vw, 571px" /></figure></div>

<p>As always with early leaks, plans can change. OnePlus has not commented on the OnePlus 16 series, and there’s no official roadmap yet. Still, with rivals like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/05/iqoo-15-ultra-early-february-launch/">iQOO already pushing “Ultra” branding</a>, it wouldn’t be surprising to see OnePlus revisit a higher-end flagship strategy next year. And perhaps this higher-end OnePlus 16 model could finally appeal to camera enthusiasts, with a larger main sensor and a beefier telephoto setup.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus</a> has just launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-15">OnePlus 15</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-15r">OnePlus 15R</a> in the global market. However, early leaks surrounding the OnePlus 16 have already started appearing. Recent Weibo posts suggest that the OnePlus 16 may arrive with some major upgrades.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 16: Display and camera upgrades tipped</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1022" height="169" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-191.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-721610" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-191.png 1022w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-191-300x50.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-191-768x127.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-191-696x115.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 1022px) 100vw, 1022px" /><figcaption>OnePlus may launch 200Hz refresh rate display phone</figcaption></figure>

<p>OnePlus has gradually pushed refresh rates higher in recent years, moving to 165Hz on models like the OnePlus 15 series. According to a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station, the company is now testing ultra-high refresh rates starting from 200Hz. This aligns with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/11/11/oneplus-working-on-smartphone-240hz-display/">another report</a> claiming that OnePlus is experimenting with a balance between resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, raising the possibility that the OnePlus 16 could adopt a 200Hz-plus panel.</p>

<p>If this happens, it will mark a major shift in display priorities. OnePlus had earlier lowered the resolution from 2K to 1.5K on the OnePlus 15 to enable smoother 165Hz performance. It remains unclear whether the brand can maintain at least a 1.5K resolution while pushing refresh rates as high as 240Hz, especially considering power consumption.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-192.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-721611" width="627" height="136" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-192.png 1017w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-192-300x65.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-192-768x168.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/image-192-696x152.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px" /><figcaption>OnePlus 16 may feature a 200MP camera</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On the camera front, DCS claims that OnePlus will adopt 200-megapixel sensors for its 2026 phones, with the OnePlus 16 likely to receive a 200-megapixel primary camera. Reports also hint at a triple-camera setup, potentially mirroring the imaging strategy of the upcoming Oppo Find N6, which is expected to feature a 200-megapixel main sensor alongside two 50-megapixel cameras.</p>

<p>Performance-wise, the OnePlus 16 is tipped to run on the next-generation <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6</a> chipset, which may launch in September next year. To support such a high refresh rate display, it may also house a large battery, following the trend set by the OnePlus 15 with its 7,300mAh capacity.</p>

<h3><strong>OnePlus 16 launch timeline (expected)</strong></h3>

<p>While OnePlus has not confirmed any details officially, the OnePlus 16 is expected to debut in China around October 2026, following the brand’s usual flagship launch cycle. For now, the focus remains on the upcoming OnePlus Turbo 6 series, scheduled to launch in January 2026.</p>
