<p>OnePlus CEO Carl Pei explained that the cost of production has reduced for the OnePlus 2, which is why the company has decided to pass on the savings to its customers. Moreover, Carl promised that if you bought the device (internationally) in the past 15 days, you will get a refund of $40.</p>
<p>So, now that the phone retails for a much cheaper price tag than at launch, we take a look at the popular smartphones that competes directly with the OnePlus 2.</p>
<p>In the table below, we will compare OnePlus 2 with close competitors like the Nexus 5X, and ZTE Axon Pro to see if this is indeed a good deal.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">OnePlus 2 vs Axon Pro vs Nexus 5X</span></h3>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-72293" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 vs axon pro vs nexus 5x" width="1200" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x-300x120.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x-1024x410.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x-600x240.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x-1050x420.jpg 1050w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x-640x256.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/oneplus-2-vs-axon-pro-vs-nexus-5x-681x272.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>You will see that Axon Pro does have a few advantages over OnePlus 2, like a <strong>faster-clocked processor, Hi-Fi Audio, 2K display and dual cameras.</strong> However, after the price cut, the OnePlus 2 is almost $50 less than the Axon Pro and with <strong>a larger battery, storage and fingerprint ID</strong>, the former turns out to be a good deal.</p>
<p>When we bring Nexus 5X to the table, which costs $349 i.e. the same price as OnePlus 2, we see how underpowered the phone is as compared to the OnePlus flagship.</p>
<p>After the price cut, you probably won&#8217;t find such a powerful device in this segment. You can check out the comparison table below for more details.</p>

The company tried its best with the new handset, and despite a few drawbacks, the phone is still a value for money proposition. As an upgrade, the OnePlus 2 came with a fingerprint sensor embedded into its home button.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-54775" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5-1024x588.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 screens-5" width="800" height="459" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5-1024x588.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5-300x172.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5-731x420.jpg 731w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5-640x368.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5-681x391.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-screens-5.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>But it looks like the fingerprint sensor may be plagued with some issues. Now, according to recent comments from users, the fingerprint sensor on the OnePlus 2 not working properly on many smartphones. In fact, it is found that the after a while, the sensor just stops working. And its not just the sensor, the home button becomes unresponsive. It simply doesn&#8217;t respond to touch. However, the other two capacitive keys on the side work well, which tells us that this is a specific issue with the fingerprint sensor mounted on the button.</p>
<p>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6ro4YtWwrw</p>
<p>Many users have reported this issue in forums worldwide, and the exact cause of an unresponsive Home button / dead Home button seems to differ from person to person. For some, the sensor seems to stop working after flashing the device. Its not uncommon for users to try out a new build or tweak their phones, and it should be fine on most devices. But it looks like you&#8217;ll be better off keeping the same old Oxygen OS on the OnePlus 2 if you don&#8217;t want to take the risk of an unresponsive fingerprint sensor.</p>
<p>Another major reason, which many reported to be the cause of the unresponsive home button is water. Some users have said that if you used the sensor with a wet finger, the sensor just stops working. For other users, things were just unfortunate as the button just stopped working after a while.</p>
<p>On a personal note, we have also faced issues with its fingerprint sensor, but its just occasionally. And the sensor is still working fine for us.</p>
<p>After many reports, OnePlus did try to fix the problem, but it seems that their steps have garnered limited success, at least for now.</p>
<p>First option is to reset your device. If it didn&#8217;t work, you should try clearing your cache service com.oneplus.fingerprint.service before resetting. Another option is to restore your device to the same OxygenOS version that it shipped with. This seems to solve the problem for most users. However, if your sensor stopped working after using it with a wet finger, you may have go a level further. It is said that some users have tried disassembling the device and removed the battery to make sure that the sensor is completely dry. But this isn&#8217;t something that everyone can try out so, if you are facing this issue, its best to contact the service center, or seller if you are within the return period.</p>
<p>This could be a software glitch, which we hope it is. Because, a simple future update can solve such a problem. For example, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/02/oneplus-2-gets-oxygenos-2-0-2-update-improves-fingerprint-recognition/" target="_blank">the company had updated the software to OxygenOS 2.0.2</a> back in September and the sensor worked much faster. However, if its a hardware glitch, then things will get much harder to fix. Anyways, lets see how OnePlus tackles this fingerprint issue. We will keep you updated with more information soon. Meanwhile, you can read more about the <a href="https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/solved-video-home-button-completely-dead.369476/" target="_blank">problem and possible workarounds from OnePlus Forums</a>.</p>
<p>Let us know if you have faced issues with your OnePlus 2&#8217;s fingerprint scanner.</p>

We have seen a large number of teardowns from iFixit alone, and today, the OnePlus 2 flagship killer got the teardown treatment revealing the inner components of the smartphone.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-56249 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf.jpg?x23692" alt="OnePlus-2-teardown" width="592" height="444" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf.jpg 592w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ODKAcEZTOVAsiwJf-238x178.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px" /></a></p>
<p>The teardown reveals that OnePlus has done a great job with its new flagship model, making it much easier to repair as compared to the previous generation. iFixit gave OnePlus 2 a score of 7 out of 10 for its ease of repair. This means that if for some reason your OnePlus 2 needs repair, it won&#8217;t cost you a fortune.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-56248" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf.jpg?x23692" alt="eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf" width="592" height="444" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf.jpg 592w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/eOOF2QCFyVLye6uf-238x178.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px" /></a></p>
<p>There are a number of reasons for this. First of all, the company has used a non-proprietary screw heads which decreases the cost of tools. Also, most of the components inside are modular which means they can be replaced easily. Even the USB Type-C port which is attached used a flex cable can be easily replaced. The only problem you will encounter is while replacing the LCD and digitizer glass. They are fused together as one unit, so you will have to replace both of them.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-56247" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag.jpg?x23692" alt="KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag" width="592" height="444" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag.jpg 592w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/KuiQQHHPlRsPSsag-238x178.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px" /></a></p>
<p>So, in short, the OnePlus 2 can be repaired easily and without costing you much. This seems to be good news for its customers as nobody likes a phone which will cost you a fortune in repairs.</p>

<p>However, the brand new OnePlus 2 flagship is currently available on both OPPOMART &amp; Giztop. Unlike buying from the company website, you don&#8217;t have to wait for an invite to purchase the device. Its currently in stock, which means, you should be able to get your OnePlus 2 pretty soon. We don&#8217;t know how many units are being offered for sale by both these websites, so if you are eager to get your hands on the OP2, then you can check these websites at the earliest.</p>

A few hours later, we<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/28/heres-what-photos-from-the-oneplus-2-look-like/"> manged to get hold of a few camera samples from the device</a>. And to be honest, they looked extremely good for a affordable flagship. That&#8217;s when we decided to dig a little deeper into the camera specs of the device.</p>

<p>I am sure many of you would know that the OnePlus One came with the Sony IMX214 sensor last year. However, this year, for some reason, OnePlus decided to resort to a non-Sony sensor (apparently a lot of Chinese smartphones now use non-Sony sensors). To be specific, the rear camera sensor on the OnePlus 2 is the <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">OV13860 13MP sensor</span></em></strong>. While the front <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">5MP sensor is the OV5648.</span></em></strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-54994" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-1024x761.jpg?x23692" alt="OV13860 01" width="800" height="595" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-1024x761.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-300x223.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-565x420.jpg 565w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-238x178.jpg 238w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-640x476.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-01-681x506.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, let&#8217;s take a look at the OV13860. Its a 13MP sensor with <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">1.</span></em><em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong><em>3</em></strong> micron pixels</span></em></strong>, which makes it <strong>35 percent larger than traditional 13MP camera sensors</strong>. The<strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;"> sensor is also larger</span> </em></strong>than competitors at<strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;"> 1/2.6 inches</span></em></strong> which directly results into better low light photography. This is because, the large sensor provides<strong> higher sensitivity and reduces noise</strong> resulting into better pictures in low lighting conditions. Its also the first sensor from <strong>OV&#8217;s PureCel family of BSI image sensors</strong> which utilizes the company&#8217;s <strong>stacked die technology</strong>. This essentially enables smaller module sizes for larger optical format sensors.</p>
<figure id="attachment_54993" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-54993" style="width: 721px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV-13860-02.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-54993" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV-13860-02.png?x23692" alt="OV13860 Specs" width="721" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV-13860-02.png 721w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV-13860-02-300x166.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV-13860-02-640x355.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV-13860-02-681x378.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-54993" class="wp-caption-text">OV13860 Features</figcaption></figure>
<p>OnePlus has utilized<strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;"> 6 lenses</span> </em></strong>on the camera unit to avoid distortion. Now combine this large 13MP sensor with <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">Laser Focus</span></em></strong>, and you get a powerful camera at the back. The Laser Focus reduces focus times to a great extent. You can literally focus on an object within just 0.2-0.3 seconds. Further, the presence of <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">OIS (Optical Image Stabilization)</span></em></strong> should limit camera shake to a minimum level.</p>
<figure id="attachment_54996" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-54996" style="width: 945px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-specs.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-54996 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-specs.png?x23692" alt="OV13860 specs" width="945" height="581" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-specs.png 945w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-specs-300x184.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-specs-683x420.png 683w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-specs-640x393.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV13860-specs-681x419.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 945px) 100vw, 945px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-54996" class="wp-caption-text">OV13860 Specs</figcaption></figure>
<p>The OV13860 sensor supports <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">4K videos at 30 frames per second</span> </em></strong>(fps) and even <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong><em>slo-mo recordin</em><em>g (720p @120fps)</em></strong></span>. So, overall its a much better upgrade than the Sony IMX214 sensor used by the OnePlus One. That&#8217;s why the pictures from the OnePlus 2 are going to be much better and less noisy as compared to the previous generation. You will also see considerable improvement in night time photography.</p>
<p>Also, in case you are interested, the front camera on the OnePlus uses the <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">OV5648 sensor</span></em></strong>. While this isn&#8217;t the best front facing camera that we have seen in a smartphone (hello HTC Desire Eye), its decent enough to satisfy your selfie needs. The 5MP sensor comes with<strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;"> 1.4 micron pixels</span></em></strong>. The sensor isn&#8217;t that big, and <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">measures 1/4 inches</span></em></strong>. But like I said, it should be able to take decent pictures. The sensor can capture<strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> 720p videos at 60fps</span> </strong>and <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">1080p videos at 30fps</span></em></strong>.</p>
<figure id="attachment_54995" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-54995" style="width: 960px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-54995" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs.png?x23692" alt="OV5648 Specs" width="960" height="644" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs.png 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs-300x201.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs-626x420.png 626w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs-537x360.png 537w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs-640x429.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OV5648-specs-681x457.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-54995" class="wp-caption-text">OV5648 Specs</figcaption></figure>
<p>Many of our readers had mentioned yesterday that one of the reasons for upgrading to the new OnePlus 2 would be its camera. And it looks like OnePlus did a fine job of getting a pretty good shooter at the back. Of course, we would like to test out the camera ourselves (hopefully soon) to make our own conclusions about the OV13860 sensor at the back.</p>

<p>OnePlus 2 is now finally official. The company has made some great upgrades in the new flagship device, however, if you want to purchase the device, you would still need an invite. Yes, the company has decided to continue with its invite system, although its a bit improved now. But still, its quite irritating that you have to wait for the company or someone else to send you an invite in order to buy your favorite smartphone.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Oneplus-2-oppomart.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54760" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Oneplus-2-oppomart.png?x23692" alt="Oneplus 2 oppomart" width="958" height="444" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Oneplus-2-oppomart.png 958w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Oneplus-2-oppomart-300x139.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Oneplus-2-oppomart-906x420.png 906w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Oneplus-2-oppomart-640x297.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Oneplus-2-oppomart-681x316.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 958px) 100vw, 958px" /></a></p>
<p>This is where e-commerce websites like OPPOMART comes to the rescue. And it looks like they were quite fast in listing the device on their website. The <em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><a style="color: #ff0000;" href="http://www.oppomart.com/oneplus/oneplus-2.html" target="_blank"><strong>website has listed the OnePlus 2 for $349</strong> </a></span></em>which is slightly higher than the official price tag of $329. However, you won&#8217;t have to wait for an invite this way and hence, you can purchase the device directly from the site.</p>
<p>Of course, the OnePlus 2 is still not officially available to purchase. And hence, unsurprisingly, the device is listed as out of stock on the website. The flagship will most likely be available for sale sometime after August 11, when OnePlus starts shipping the OP2.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus21.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54761" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus21.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus21" width="500" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus21.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus21-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus21-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus21-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></a></p>
<p>OPPOMART has also listed some accessories for the device, like a leather flip cover, and a tempered glass screen protector. You can <a href="http://www.oppomart.com/oneplus/oneplus-2.html" target="_blank">check them out from this link here</a>.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, we will be keeping a close eye on the website and will let you guys know when the phone finally becomes available for purchase. So, stay tuned.</p>

<p>OnePlus has made some subtle changes in the design, but in the first glance, it does look like the next generation OnePlus flagship. This is because you get a similar design and the <strong>same sandstone black back</strong>. What&#8217;s new is the <em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>sturdy magnesium alloy frame</strong></span></em>, slightly flatter design and a <em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>dedicated action slider</strong></span></em> to toggle notifications (standard, priority &amp; DND modes). And yea, like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/27/this-could-be-our-first-look-at-oneplus-2-gallery/">we saw in the pictures a few hours back</a>, there&#8217;s the <strong>physical home button with fingerprint ID</strong> right below the display. Well, its<strong> not really a clickable button but rather a touch pad</strong>. You can even <strong>customize</strong> what a long press or double tap on the button does, like opening up the camera or launching Google Now.</p>

<p>As confirmed by the company earlier, the OnePlus 2 will come with a<em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong> Snapdragon 810</strong></span></em> processor under the hood. This will be the third generation version<em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"> v2.1,</span></strong></em> which is also found on the Mi Note Pro. Given that its the flagship chip from Qualcomm, it supports even 4K recording. We hope that the company managed to fix the over heating issues associated with the chip.</p>

<p>Next up is the RAM, which was once again confirmed earlier by OnePlus. The flagship will come with <em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>4GB of LPDDR4 RAM</strong></span></em>, making it one of the few smartphones with 4GB RAM in the market. This is more than enough to tackle any tasks that you throw at it, making it truly a flagship device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-54743" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010-1024x1007.png?x23692" alt="OP2 010" width="800" height="787" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010-1024x1007.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010-300x295.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010-427x420.png 427w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010-640x629.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010-681x670.png 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-010.png 1201w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>One thing we were not quite clear about the OnePlus 2 was the camera. And finally, the company has confirmed that it will be a <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">13MP camera with a large 1.3 microns senso</span></em><span style="color: #ff0000;">r</span></strong>. This sensor size is reportedly <strong>35% larger than the standard smartphones</strong> in the market. This also means better low light photography. Further, the sensor is supported by <strong>OIS</strong> (Optical Image Stabilization) which helps reduce camera shake to a considerable extent. Finally, the camera is supported by the awesome<em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong> Laser Focus</strong></span></em>, which translates into faster (<strong>less than 0.3 seconds) focus</strong>. Overall, its a great improvement from the standard 13MP sensor found on the OnePlus One.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-size.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54734" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-size.jpg?x23692" alt="OP2 size" width="660" height="371" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-size.jpg 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-size-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-size-640x360.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></a></p>
<p>The display remains the same,<em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong> 5.5-inch with full HD 1080p</strong></span></em> resolution but with<strong> contrast ratio of 1500:1</strong> bringing blacker blacks and better colors. It will be <strong>brighter than the OPO&#8217;s screen</strong>, making it much more visible outdoors. Coming to the battery, well, we knew that already. The OnePlus 2 will have a <strong>3300mAh</strong>, which is once again an improvement from the previous generation. This coupled with the same sized display should essentially provide you somewhat better battery life than the OnePlus One.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-USB-Type-C.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54738" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-USB-Type-C.jpg?x23692" alt="OP2 USB Type-C" width="660" height="371" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-USB-Type-C.jpg 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-USB-Type-C-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-USB-Type-C-640x360.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, coming to the new features. First up, there&#8217;s the<em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong> fingerprint sensor</strong></span></em> which is faster than the iPhone&#8217;s sensor and can reportedly <strong>store up to 5 unique fingerprints</strong>. Then there&#8217;s the new <strong>Action Slider button</strong>, which can be used to switch between notification settings. Finally, there will be the famous <strong>USB Type C</strong> port on board. But the company claims that even the <strong>other side is reversible (patented)</strong>. You can even buy a special connector for the cable to use it with regular chargers.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-styleswap-covers.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54744" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-styleswap-covers.png?x23692" alt="OP2 styleswap covers" width="886" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-styleswap-covers.png 886w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-styleswap-covers-300x234.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-styleswap-covers-539x420.png 539w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-styleswap-covers-640x498.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-styleswap-covers-681x530.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 886px) 100vw, 886px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Next up is the<strong> <em><span style="color: #ff0000;">StypeSwap covers</span></em></strong>. The standard version comes with the much loved sandstone black cover, but you can replace that with any of the following four StyleSwap covers: <strong>Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood, and Kevlar</strong>. We expect more options to be available later.</p>
<p>Now coming to the OS, the <em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>OxygenOS v2.0</strong></span></em>, its going to be quite clean and near stock Android. However, it does come with a few additional features such as<strong> color/ dark modes, custom icon packs, custom icon grid size and notification lights</strong>. You get <strong>a special apps permission page</strong> (like in that of Android M) too in the OxygenOS where you can manage the permissions on the apps installed on your OnePlus 2.</p>
<p>The OS also comes with a<strong> new camera app</strong> which comes loaded with special features. For example, there&#8217;s a <strong>Super-Resolution Mode which can click pictures in up to <span style="color: #ff0000;">50MP</span> resolution</strong> (<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/05/21/gionee-e8-leaks-100mp-pictures-and-all-metal-body-in-tow/">remember Gionee?</a>). You have other options such as time lapse, slo-mo shooting etc.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-pricing.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54739" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-pricing.png?x23692" alt="OP2 pricing" width="600" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-pricing.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-pricing-300x150.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Now coming to the best part, the <em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>OnePlus 2 starts at just $329 for the 16GB variant</strong></span></em>. Yes, even with the flagship specs like 4GB RAM, you can get it for as low as $329. And if you want the <strong><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">6</span><span style="color: #ff0000;">4GB</span> </em>variant (which most of you would want due to the lack of MicroSD), <em><span style="color: #ff0000;">you have to shell out just $389</span></em></strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">.</span> Once again, it looks like OnePlus nailed it with its pricing!</p>
<figure id="attachment_54749" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-54749" style="width: 800px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-54749 size-large" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise-1024x576.jpg?x23692" alt="OP2 Pricing Chart Countrywise" width="800" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise-640x360.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise-681x383.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OP2-Pricing-Chart-Countrywise.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-54749" class="wp-caption-text">OP2 Pricing Chart Countrywise</figcaption></figure>
<p>However, avaialability has always been a concern for OnePlus, and this time too, you will have to <strong>rely on invites and other contests to get hold of a OnePlus 2</strong>. However, the company <strong>promises that there will be much more invites and they will be sent out faster than before.</strong></p>
<p>The OnePlus 2 will be available for sale in different regions like <em><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>US, Europe, China and India starting August 11</strong></span></em>. The company adds that the phone will hit the S<strong>outh East Asian markets in the fourth quarter of 2015.</strong></p>
<p>So, what do you think about the OnePlus 2 flagship? Impressed or not?</p>

<p>If this is indeed the new OnePlus 2, we don&#8217;t have many surprises in the design. It looks like the company has continued with the traditional OnePlus design philosophy, which is not really a bad thing. Some notable changes include the physical home button right below the display which will harbor the fingerprint sensor. There&#8217;s a dual LED flash at the back as well as a sensor in between, which is most likely the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/15/oneplus-2-will-come-with-a-13mp-camera-with-laser-autofocus-samples-inside/">Laser Autofocus, as confirmed by MKBHD.</a></p>

Now, 4GB RAM variant of the OnePlus 2 has been spotted on the benchmark website, GFXBench, revealing a bunch of information about its performance and specs.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2005-gfxbench.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54666" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2005-gfxbench.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 a2005 gfxbench" width="560" height="695" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2005-gfxbench.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2005-gfxbench-242x300.jpg 242w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2005-gfxbench-338x420.jpg 338w" sizes="(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px" /></a></p>
<p>The OnePlus 2 A2005 model will reportedly come with 4GB RAM, which is not a surprise given that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/07/oneplus-two-confirmed-to-come-with-4gb-lpddr4-ram/">the company had confirmed this earlier. </a>The listing also reveals that the phone comes with Snapdragon 810 under the hood, which was also confirmed. However, the cores are clocked at a modest 1.7GHz, probably to avoid over heating issues. We still don&#8217;t know whether it will be under clocked to such an extent in the final model that will be released later today. <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/07/oneplus-two-confirmed-to-come-with-4gb-lpddr4-ram/"> </a></p>
<p>One interesting thing spotted here is the 13.7-inch 1080p display. Now, we have heard rumors about a possible<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/26/oneplus-could-unveil-three-new-devices-today-including-a-tablet/"> OnePlus 2 tablet launching soon</a>, however, 13.7-inch is quite large even for a tablet device. So, for the moment, we could assume that the device was probably connected to an external display. Other known specs include 64GB storage, Android 5.1, 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front facing shooter.</p>
<p>As for the 3D Graphics performance, the OnePlus 2 model posted decent totals. In fact, the on screen Manhattan test, it scored better than the Galaxy S6. Offscreen test results were also at par with the Samsung flagship.</p>
<p>Performance wise, we expect the final model to be much better. Remember, there was a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/20/oneplus-2-a2001-once-again-spotted-on-antutu-this-time-scores-over-63700-points/">OnePlus 2 model which scored around 63K on AnTuTu</a>? Well, that&#8217;s the kind of performance we expect from the new OnePlus 2! Stay tuned for more updates in the coming hours.</p>

One thing we are still unsure about is its camera, but we have seen enough samples to guess that its going to be at par with current flagships. To prove this point, the company CEO Liu Zuohu had earlier compared the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/21/check-out-oneplus-2-camera-samples-compared-with-samsung-galaxy-s6/">OnePlus 2 night camera samples and macro samples with iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S6</a> respectively.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-52850" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2" width="600" height="323" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-300x162.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Today, the CEO has revealed a few more night camera samples from the OnePlus 2 and directly compared with the mighty LG G4. To be honest, the OP2 night camera performance looks way better than the first generation model, but we can&#8217;t say much given that these samples come directly from the CEO. So, they are bound to be good. We will have to look at the real life performance to make conclusions about its camera unit.</p>
<p>As you can see from below, the camera performance of the OP2 is comparable to the LG G4. We can&#8217;t really say that it beats the G4, but its quite close.</p>
<p>We leave it up to you to decide which ones better. You can check out the samples from down below.</p>

And once again, today, we have some very interesting news about the OnePlus 2. The device has just hit TENAA revealing a bunch of pictures. This will be the first time we are going to see the handset&#8217;s design.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-02.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54242" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-02.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 02" width="480" height="640" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-02.jpg 480w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-02-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-02-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px" /></a></p>
<p>One of the interesting things revealed by these images is the presence of the physical home button. You can clearly see the oval shaped home button right below the display. It will also harbor the fingerprint ID sensor.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>At the back, you can see that the placement of the camera unit is a bit lower than usual. There&#8217;s also the laser autofocus below the camera sensor. According to the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/15/oneplus-2-will-come-with-a-13mp-camera-with-laser-autofocus-samples-inside/">camera review by MKBHD</a>, this helped focus at tremendous speeds, in most cases less than a second. On the left side, you will also find a new button, which could be a customizable function key.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the TENAA listing didn&#8217;t reveal much about the specifications. But then, we already know so much about the device, that it hardly makes any difference. We expect the OnePlus 2 to come in two variants. Inside, there will be Snapdragon 810 v2.1 on board (<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/20/oneplus-2-a2001-once-again-spotted-on-antutu-this-time-scores-over-63700-points/">check out the recent AnTuTu benchmark!</a>), 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP camera with Laser AF, USB Type-C port, 3300mAh battery and 5.5-inch 2K display. The price is confirmed to be below $450.</p>

The photos specifically focused on the night time camera performance of both the handsets and in most cases, OnePlus 2 did a pretty good job of capturing more light, less noise and clicking better pictures. This was basically done to show off the impressive low light performance of the new OnePlus flagship.</p>

<p>Now, a new set of OnePlus 2 camera samples have been posted on the Chinese OnePlus forums. These images been directly compared with the Samsung Galaxy S6. This time, the company has focused on the macro shooting capability of both the devices.</p>
<p>When we compare both the images, you can see that the OnePlus 2 manages to take better macro shots. The colors look a lot brighter and realistic and the images turned out to be less blurry too. In the end, the macro shots of the OnePlus 2 (on the left) come with more detail and sharpness as compared to the S6.</p>

<p style="text-align: right;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">OP2 (left) vs GS6 (right)</span></strong></p>
<p>So, it looks like the company may have put a lot of efforts in upgrading the camera on the new OnePlus 2. The low light images turned out to be impressive and so did the macro shots that were released today. As for the actual camera specs, we are still not quite sure. Some say that the OP2 comes with a 13MP sensor and PDAF, while others say that there will be a 16MP rear camera. Whatever the case maybe, it looks like the camera performance will be much better than the current generation OnePlus One.</p>
<p>We hope to receive more details pretty soon, so stay tuned to the website.</p>

The scores posted on the benchmarking app was less than impressive, which led us to believe that OnePlus may have throttled the Snapdragon 810 inside the new flagship.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54073" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 a2001 antutut" width="440" height="762" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut-173x300.jpg 173w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutut-243x420.jpg 243w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>However, earlier today, we came across another AnTuTu benchmark of the same OnePlus 2 A2001 model. This time it managed to score over 63,700 points! Yes, finally, we can see some powerful scores posted by the octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset, which is even above the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro top version.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54072" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 a2001 antutu 02" width="440" height="763" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02-173x300.jpg 173w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-a2001-antutu-02-242x420.jpg 242w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>But what does this mean? One possibility is that the 51K score was posted by a prototype model, which was throttled to a great extent. Even though 51K on AnTuTu is not a bad score, Snapdragon 801 was powerful enough to post the same score. So, a new generation chip like Snapdragon 810 is expected to at least beat this score by a nominal margin.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53971" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png?x23692" alt="Snapdragon 810 performances" width="720" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-420x420.png 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-640x640.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-681x681.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>
<p>What we can take from this score is the performance capacity of the new Snapdragon 810 chipset. However, this does bring back the issue about overheating. Given that OnePlus has promised that it won&#8217;t happen, we will have to wait and see whether the chip inside OnePlus 2 is throttled to a great extent or not.</p>
<p>Stay tuned for more details.</p>

However, at the same time we are also interested in the processor that&#8217;s running under the new flagship, the <strong>Snapdragon 810 v2.1</strong>. The company has assured us that the chip won&#8217;t face overheating problem like its previous versions, but still we would like to the see the device in action to make the judgement.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-performance.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53972" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-performance.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 performance" width="440" height="783" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-performance.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-performance-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-performance-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>Underclocking the chip could be one way the company managed to solve the overheating issue and today&#8217;s OnePlus Two benchmark leak kind of hints at the same. In an image leaked on Weibo, the Snapdragon 801 on OnePlus One was directly compared with the Snapdragon 810 on the OnePlus 2. Given that 810 is the next generation version from Qualcomm, we expected it to be an unfair competition.</p>
<p>However, the new Snapdragon 810 scored almost the same as the more than an year old Snapdragon 801 on OnePlus One. You can see that the One A2001 (<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/02/higer-end-oneplus-two-version-spotted-on-geekbench-with-4gb-ram/">OnePlus 2 model</a>) scored just 51460 as compared to a slightly lower 51011 scored by OnePlus One. On the other hand, we have seen that the Snapdragon 810 v2.1 running on Xiaomi Mi Note Pro broke the 60,000 barrier a few months back. If it was the same chip underneath the OnePlus 2, we should have seen significantly better results.</p>
<figure id="attachment_53971" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-53971" style="width: 720px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-53971 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png?x23692" alt="Snapdragon 810 performances" width="720" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances.png 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-420x420.png 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-640x640.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Snapdragon-810-performances-681x681.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-53971" class="wp-caption-text">Snapdragon 810 Powered Smartphones</figcaption></figure>
<p>So, it looks like the company may have underclocked the Snapdragon 810 inside the new OnePlus 2. However, let me remind you that this is may not be the final version. The company could have been experimenting with its flagship before finalizing things and this could be one of those versions. If that&#8217;s the case, the final Snapdragon 810 chip on the OnePlus 2 should be a lot more faster.</p>
<p>Anyways, we have almost a week for the official launch, after which we can confirm the score on AnTuTu. Till then, all we can do is wait patiently for more details.</p>

While the phone comes with pretty good specs, enough to compete with any other smartphone in the market right now, the company is apparently marketing the phone as the <strong>2016 Flagship Killer</strong>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-design.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53575" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-design.png?x23692" alt="oneplus design" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-design.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-design-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-design-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-design-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Yes, it looks like the company is too enthusiastic about its upcoming flagship, enough to be calling it the flagship killer of 2016. Given that we already know a lot about the new OnePlus 2, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/13/10-things-we-know-for-sure-about-the-oneplus-two/">thanks to the teasers and confirmations from the company</a>, the specs aren&#8217;t good enough to compete with 2016 flagships. In fact, in a few months time, even Snapdragon 810 would be replaced by a much faster and efficient (hopefully) Snapdragon 820.</p>
<p>So, why would the company be calling it a 2016 Flagship killer? Well, either we still don&#8217;t know a lot about the OnePlus 2 (<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/02/higer-end-oneplus-two-version-spotted-on-geekbench-with-4gb-ram/">a high-end edition?</a>) or its all a hype to get fans excited. But then, the phone is going to cost less than $450, so what all high-end features could they have incorporated in such a limited price tag? I guess, we will have to wait for the official launch day to get these answers.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-partners.png?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53574" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-partners.png?x23692" alt="oneplus partners" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-partners.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-partners-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-partners-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-partners-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>What the company did reveal is a bunch of partners who have supplied components for the new flagship. The list of brand names include Texas Instruments, Samsung, Qualcomm, JDI, Toshiba, Mitsumi etc.</p>
<p>Whatever the case maybe, we just have to wait for a couple of weeks more to get official details. Until then, stay tuned for more updates.</p>

The flagship killer came with a single SIM card slot, which could have been a deal breaker for many. Given that most smartphones come with at least or sometimes even <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2014/06/02/acer-liquid-e700-tri-sim/" target="_blank">three SIM card slots</a>, limiting to one SIM slot wasn&#8217;t a great idea.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim.jpg?x23692"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53514" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim.jpg?x23692" alt="oneplus 2 dual sim" width="550" height="412" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/oneplus-2-dual-sim-238x178.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>But it looks like the OnePlus 2 will feature dual SIM dual standby. The company CEO, Liu Zuohu confirmed on Weibo that the new flagship will support dual SIM card slots. Unfortunately, we still don&#8217;t know whether there will be a microSD card slot too. We will even be happy to see a 3 in 2 Micro SIM + Nano SIM/ MicroSD card slot. But we are not sure of that at the moment.</p>

<p>Almost all the other specs have been confirmed, except for the display size and resolution. The OnePlus 2 will come with Snapdragon 810 v2.1, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/15/oneplus-2-will-come-with-a-13mp-camera-with-laser-autofocus-samples-inside/" target="_blank">13MP rear camera with laser autofocus</a>, USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor and a new designed body (<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/01/the-oneplus-two-will-feature-an-all-metal-body/" target="_blank">probably all metal</a>).</p>
<p>The company will unveil the flagship on July 28, but expect a few more info before the launch. Meanwhile, you can check out<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/13/10-things-we-know-for-sure-about-the-oneplus-two/" target="_blank"> all the things we know about the OnePlus 2 from this article. </a></p>

<p>Yesterday, Mr. Brownlee revealed that OnePlus 2 will come a 13MP sensor at the back with Laser Autofocus. If you remember, this tech was first debuted by LG on its G3 flagship and improves focus times to a great extent.</p>
<p>According to the camera review, OnePlus does have a decent rear camera. The 13MP manages to capture clear and sharp pictures with almost accurate color reproduction. The focus times in particular were impressive, thanks to the laser autofocus tech. There are a number of camera options such as Clear-Shot, HDR and Beauty mode. As for the video shooting, the phone is capable of recording videos in up to 4K resolution. You can even take slo-mo videos at 720p.</p>
<p>Overall, it looks like OnePlus 2 will have a capable rear camera. Nothing out of the ordinary, but good enough to satisfy your camera needs.</p>
