OnePlus released a teaser hinting at a new OnePlus 5 scheduled to launch next week. While we already guessed that it is a gold variant, we now have proof to back it up, thanks to Twitter user @KaranArjun007.

If you still remember, back before the OnePlus 5 was officially released, we were able to confirm the specs of the device by viewing the page source of the teaser landing page on Amazon India. This is basically the same thing.

There is a page teasing the launch of the device next week. If you check the page source and do a search for “Gold”, you should have something identical to the image below, confirming a gold OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5 is available in two colors for now. There is a slate grey version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and a Midnight Black model with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. We  don’t know if the Gold variant will be limited to one memory configuration or be available for both.

The Gold OnePlus 5 will be an Amazon India exclusive like the other two. The launch date is August 8 and we expect it to go on sale immediately after.

The OnePlus 5 may be getting a new color variant soon judging from a new teaser poster released on its Weibo page.

The image shows the black and gray OnePlus 5 variants as well as a third transparent one. There is also a text that reads “Who is coming?” at the top.

The best bet is that the new color variant is mint gold. If you remember we saw it appear on TENAA shortly after the release of the phone. Though we wish OnePlus releases it in either red or blue too.

There is no other info with respect to a release date or configuration but it surely won’t be far off. When it launches, the price should probably be the same as the other two.

The OnePlus 5 packs a 5.5-inch display, 6GB/8GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 835. It has dual rear cameras, 64GB or 128GB of storage and a 3300mAh battery. Price starts at $479 for the 6GB model and $539 for the 8GB model.

Update: The official Twitter account has released a new teaser video for the smartphone’s launch. The video not only hints at the color being a sort of pink (rose gold) but also reveals the release date as Monday, August 7.
