In all three countries presently,(US, Canada, and India) users can only purchase the Midnight Black variant of the flagship device.

It is not known how many units were available at launch so as to estimate how quickly they sold out. Nevertheless, since it was a limited edition, it was bound to get out of stock sooner or later.

OnePlus may also not produce more units, so we you advise not to keep your hopes up. However, offering a phone in a single color variant doesn’t provide any option for buyers.

There is still a good four months or so before the launch of a successor, so there is a chance we might see yet another color variant before the OnePlus 6 launches.

Just as we predicted yesterday, OnePlus has globally launched the Lava Red variant of the OnePlus 5T. The new color variant is now available in all countries excluding Australia.

The Lava Red OnePlus 5T will sell for €559 in Europe, £499 in the UK, and $559 in the US. Sales begins tomorrow at exactly 10:00 AM (local time for all countries). Do remember that this variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

It is easy to see that OnePlus has planned the global release in time for Valentine’s Day. It has even released a sweet video ad that features American actress Emily Ratajkowski, for the love-themed phone.

If you pre-order the Lava Red OnePlus 5T before February 9, OnePlus says they will make it a priority order just so you can get your device in time.

If you already own the OnePlus 5T or don’t even plan on buying one, OnePlus is offering some Valentine’s Day deals on its other products. Since the celebration is for lovers, the deals are for two items.

OnePlus has an announcement/launch scheduled for tomorrow based on a teaser posted today on Twitter. Although the teaser doesn’t say much apart from having a red theme, it is a tweet from yesterday that provides more info.

The older tweet is an eleven-second video with the caption “Bring the passion! What things should try on red next?”. The video shows a bunch of items that are originally white but transform to red. Our guess is that OnePlus will launch the Lava Red OnePlus 5T globally tomorrow.

The Lava Red OnePlus 5T was first released in China to mark its 4th year anniversary. Initially said to be exclusive to its home country, the color variant launched in India last month. Now, it may be heading to more countries.

The OnePlus 5T was originally released in Midnight Black, it was followed by a limited edition Star Wars version which is basically a white variant with a Star Wars logo engraved on the back. It also launched a limited edition Sandstone White variant. Both the Star Wars and Sandstone White variants are out of stock in all countries.

So it doesn’t come as a surprise that it wants to launch the Lava Red variant in more countries seeing as the Midnight Black is the only color variant available at the moment.

As expected, OnePlus has today announced a new variant of its flagship smartphone OnePlus 5T in India. The company has introduced Lava Red colour variant in the Indian market, which will go on sale exclusively through online retailer Amazon India.

The pricing of this new variant is same as the standard model as well as the recently launched Star Wars Limited Edition — Rs. 37,999, which roughly converts to $596. The company has already started taking registration for the phone.

The company says that the radiant Lava Red colour shade is achieved through an accurate combination of temperature, consistency and baking time with less than 0.01 percent variation. It uses two anodic oxidation processes, using double blasting and an AF coating to ensure the texture and feel.

Earlier there were reports suggesting that the Lava Red edition of OnePlus 5T could launch in India on 26th January, which is also the Republic Day in India. Soon, another report emerged which suggested that the phone could be introduced in India earlier than expected.

To recap, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red colour variant was first launched in China and was so far exclusive to the company’s home country. The OnePlus 5T, which is a successor of OnePlus 5, was launched in November last year in only one colour — Midnight Black. All the other variant — Lava Red and Star Wars Limited Edition, comes with same specifications as the standard edition.

The phone features a 6-inch Optic AMOLED Full-HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and comes in two variants — 6GB RAM with 64GB ROM and 8GB RAM with 128GB ROM. It is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery that supports the company’s own Dash Charge — a fast charging technology.

The phone is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat flavoured Oxygen OS 4.7. It comes with a rear-mounted dual camera system that features a 16-megapixel camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 20-megapixel sensor having the same f/1.7 aperture. Earlier this week, we reported that OnePlus could launch the Lava Red colour variant of its flagship smartphone OnePlus 5T in India on 26th January. However, there is a new report which suggests that the company could launch the device earlier than expected.

According to the report on Techook, the phone could launch on 23rd January to avoid the national holiday clutter. However, do note that the launch date is just a speculation and there has been no confirmation from the company.

To recap, the Lava Red colour variant was first launched in China and is currently exclusive to the company’s home country. Later, the company introduced Star Wars Limited Edition model of OnePlus 5T, which is available globally.

The surprise comes in the form of a new Lava Red colour variant designated as its fourth-anniversary edition. Since the launch, the OP5T has only been available in the Midnight Black variant with the Lava Red variant unavailable. However, the cool Red variant has now gone up for sale in China and is listed on OnePlus’ official website serving the Chinese market.

Despite its attractive and colourful paint job, the Lava Red variant still comes with the same price tag as the Midnight Black variant. The OnePlus 5T’s price remains unchanged at 3,499 Yuan. The phone also features the USB Type-C interface and a 3.5mm audio jack.  There are indications the OP5T Lava Red variant could hit India on January 26, meaning it could be made available to buy in other markets outside China.

When OnePlus announced the 5T in its home country – China, it also announced a Lava Red variant that will be sold exclusively in the Asian country. The Lava Red OnePlus 5T, according to OnePlus, is a limited edition model released to mark its 4th anniversary.

The Lava Red variant will go on sale on Sunday 17th of December for ¥3499 (~$528) on the OnePlus China website and JD.com. For those who won’t be able to get their hands on a unit, we have gotten our hands on unboxing pictures for you to feast your eyes on.

The Lava Red OnePlus 5T comes in the same retail box as the Midnight Black variant. Lift up the top of the box and you are greeted by the 6.01-inch full-screen display. The bezels are black and significantly smaller. The longer screen has forced the fingerprint scanner to the back of the phone.

If you are a coming from a phone with a front-mounted scanner, it may take some time to get used to. Though you can also choose to use the face unlock feature which is one of the fastest seen on any device. Just lift up to your face and the phone unlocks.

Flip the phone to the other side and the red coat hits you like a volcanic eruption. See why it is called lava red? Save for the dual cameras (obviously the LED flash too) and the OnePlus logo, every other thing is red. Although the fingerprint scanner is said to change from orange to red depending on the angle you look at it from. The power button, alert slider and volume rocker are also covered in the same red paint.
