OnePlus 6, the China-based company’s current flagship smartphone, is having issues related to the display, according to some users who have been using the OnePlus 6 smartphone.

Several users of the OnePlus 6 smartphone have taken to Reddit, OnePlus Forums and a few others website to report issues related to the phone’s display. The users are complaining about the screen flickering under bright sunlight when adaptive brightness is enabled.

Reports suggest that when the adaptive brightness is enabled and the phone is exposed to sunlight, even the slight movements by the user kicks off flickering as the phone shifts back and forth to different brightness levels. The said issue is more noticeable with white content and vivid colors.

The issue seems to have started last month after OnePlus started rolling out OxygenOS 5.1.8 update and it seems that the recent OxygenOS 5.1.9 update for the OnePlus 6 has not fixed the issue. A user of the device claimed that clearing the cache fixes the problem, at least for the time being.

However, OnePlus has reached out to the user and has requested a log with recordings of the screen. As the company has started looking into the issue, we expect the company to soon release an update or a patch to fix this flickering issue. In the meantime, users who are facing the issue can disable the adaptive brightness until the fix is released.

The OnePlus 6 smartphone features a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED notched display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It comes in various memory configuration — 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

The phone sports a 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual cameras at the back and a 16-megapixel front-facing snapper for taking selfies and video calling. Running on Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box, the device is powered by a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging support.
