Android Authority quotes a McLaren spokesperson to have hinted in an email statement that both company’s partnership came to its scheduled conclusion recently. This clearly indicates that there wasn’t any acrimony but the partnership has run its full course.

OnePlus announced its partnership with McLaren in November 2018. The first product released after both innovative firms signed the dotted lines was the OnePus 6T McLaren Edition. Last year, OnePlus also launch McLaren edition for the OnePlus 7T Pro. The company even announced an OP7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition sold exclusively on T-Mobile.

The McLaren special editions released by OnePlus were known for their souped-up specs and exclusive designs. While fans were expecting a McLaren edition for the OnePlus 8 series, that may never happen except both companies enter into a fresh partnership.

Even about a year after its launch, the two phones continue to garner huge popularity among OnePlus fans and smartphone lovers.

Taking this unceasing demand into consideration, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is now offering the OnePlus 6 and the 6T McLaren Edition at lowered prices on GeekBuying.

Aside from shedding light on the aforesaid discount, we’ll show how you can save a considerable amount of extra money at checkout.

OnePlus 6

Deemed as one of last year’s most awaited smartphones, the OnePlus 6 doesn’t come cheap. In fact, the phone would normally set you back a pretty penny on both online as well as offline stores.

In a bid to make the OnePlus 6 available to those living on a tight budget, OnePlus is now offering the coveted phone at a lowered price of just $539.99 on GeekBuying.

This is a noteworthy 50 percent reduction in the phone’s original asking price of $1089.99. But there’s more for you to cheer about.
You can get an extra $351 off by applying coupon code GIZ_CGLEMWJX before placing your order.

In other words, you can bring the already reduced retail price of the OnePlus 6 smartphone further down to $525.99 simply by applying the aforesaid coupon.

The aforesaid discount will be valid for the midnight black-tinted variant of the OnePlus 6 that ships with 8GB of RAM and offers a hearty 256GB of internal storage capacity.

Alternatively, you can get a 38 percent discount on the 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM variant that usually sells for $725.99. Thanks to the discount, you can now buy this model for $446.99.

You can follow this link to grab the discount. Note that the promo is slated to end in just one day.

Get 50% Off On OnePlus 6 Smartphone

Oneplus 6T McLaren Edition

Sporting an extra large 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a screen resolution of FHD+ 2340 x 1080 pixels, the 6T McLaren Edition became an instant hit among those who fancy watching their favorite videos or playing popular games on a big-screen mobile device.

Much to the chagrin of cost-conscious buyers, the phone isn’t easy on the pocketbook.

The 6T McLaren Edition was made available to the public in December last year carrying a steep $1076.99 price tag.

OnePlus has now teamed up with GeekBuying to offer its 6T McLaren Edition smartphone at a considerably lowered price of only $849.99.

This is a 21 percent drop in the phone’s 10GB RAM, 256GB ROM variant. On top of that, you can use coupon code GIZ_BRFNARZL and save $86 more during the checkout process.

The aforesaid coupon helps you reduce the original asking price of the phone to just $839.99 without breaking a sweat.

You can visit this link in order to take advantage of the discount, which will be valid for the orange color version of the phone.

It is worth noting that the promo will come to an end in one day.

While OnePlus hasn’t officially said it yet, this is definitely the successor to Fast Charge, formerly known as Dash Charge. OnePlus released a post on its forums explaining how Warp Charge 30 works and some other important details.

The name, Warp Charge is formed from a combination of its power rating (30 Watts) and the word “Warp” which is used to describe an insanely fast speed in sci-fi space movies. Warp Charge is OnePlus’s fastest charging-technology so far as it can provide up to a day’s power by charging for just 20 minutes.

Like Fast Charge, the phone (OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition) doesn’t heat up when you charge the phone using Warp Charge. This is because a large part of the power management that heats up is transferred to the wall adapter itself instead of the phone. Also, charging while gaming is equally fast too. Below are charts that show Warp Charge 30 in comparison against Adaptive Fast Charge of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and USB PD of the Google Pixel 3 XL.

[envira-gallery id=”227892″]

If you are wondering why the regular OnePlus 6T doesn’t support Warp Charge, OnePlus says it is because they had to alter the safety mechanisms of the battery assembly in the McLaren Edition to support the additional increase in power. They also had to upgrade the components of the battery’s protection structure and added an 8-layer protection board to the battery to provide more efficient cooling.

Although older OnePlus devices can’t benefit from the faster charging speeds, the adapter that comes with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition can be used to charge them but all you get is Fast Charge (Dash Charge) speeds. OnePlus also says you can use your older OnePlus Fast Charge adapters to charge the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition at Fast Charge speeds. Your older OnePlus cable will also be able to charge the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition at Warp Charge 30 speeds when used with the Warp Charge 30 adapter.

Huawei has always teamed up with Porsche Design since the launch of the Mate 10 Porsche Design and later the Mate 20 Porsche Design. OPPO also launched a Lamborghini edition of the flagship OPPO Find X. OnePlus joined the bandwagon recently with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition in Europe and later India.

The OP6T McLaren edition has now been unveiled in China. It comes with a price tag of 4599 yuan ($666) and will go on sale at 10 AM on December 17 via Jingdong (JD.com) and OnePlus’ official website. Notably, the price is lower than that of the European version and even the retail price in India where it was announced for Rs.50,99 ($709). Shipping and import duties may have played a role in the slightly higher price.

The flagship device packs an avalanche of new features which distinguishes it from the regular OnePlus 6T. Top of the pack is 10 GB of RAM + 256GB storage as well as a new super fast rapid charging technology called Warp Charge. The Warp Charge 30 allows the smartphone to gain 50-percent battery juice in just twenty minutes. The retail package of the phone has a 30W charger. The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition also comes with a carbon-fiber texture under its rear glass which becomes luminous when direct light falls on it. An orange lining which shines when viewed from different angles can be seen at the bottom of the glass back. The orange lining continues on both sides and fades into the black color of the rear. The McLaren logo is placed towards the bottom of the rear shell.

Now, the company has today launched the smartphone in India for a price of Rs. 50,999, which roughly converts to $709. The phone will be available for purchase exclusively through Amazon from tomorrow, i.e. 13th December.

The highlight of the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is that the phone comes with 10GB of RAM and the company’s new fast charging method 30W Warp Charge. The company promises that the new technology charges the phone up to 50 percent in just 20 minutes. The company says that it has used the new Integrated Circuits in both the charger and the phone. Further, OnePlus has finely tuned power management software without generating excessive heat.

As for the design, the phone comes with Papaya Orange accent finish that races around the bottom edge of the device before fading into the black color. It features a carbon-fiber texture under its rear glass and an orange lining which shines when viewed from different angles. The McLaren logo is placed towards the bottom of the rear shell.

The pattern underneath the glass back of the phone is based on McLaren’s groundbreaking carbon fiber. There are light streaks across the McLaren logo, illuminating and disappearing in an instant. The phone also has an exclusive software animation, which is tuned to McLaren’s unique style and history.

The company is including a book in the box that celebrates the history of both the companies. It also comes with the iconic Speedmark, recreated in McLaren-designed F1 AA grade carbon fiber – the same material used in the McLaren MCL33 2018 Formula 1 car.

Just like the regular version, the newly introduced McLaren Edition features a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED screen with waterdrop notch, Full HD+ screen resolution, and Gorilla Glass 6 protection layer. Underneath the display, there’s an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 845 chipset, coupled with 10GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For photography, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition features 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear and a selfie shooter of 16-megapixel on the front.

The chat which was done using an interpreter centred on the company’s plans going forward.

Pete Lau, during the chat, reeled out some interesting details about the company’s latest flagship OnePlus 6T. He also delved into the upcoming 5G phone, and other new OnePlus devices. Lau revealed that its latest flagship OnePlus 6T which was launched in the US in partnership with TMobile has had impressive sales which at present is 249% more than the OnePlus 6 sales in the US. The interview was apparently to promote the OnePlus 6T Mclaren edition which is now official with a whopping 10GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 30W charger that gives a day’s firepower in just 20 minutes. Amazing! The device also comes with a $699 price tag as against $549 for the OP6T.

The CEO also spoke on the removal of the 3.5mm audio jack on the OP6T which he admitted was a difficult decision to take. He also hinted that the audio jack was removed to make way for a bigger battery. The OP6T battery is bigger than that of its predecessor. Here comes the cheering news for those who would love to see OnePlus release a small display smartphone. Pete Lau also disclosed that he would love to make a smaller phone, but that battery capacity is the number one reason why the company is yet to do that. Pretty much every smartphone the company’s launched since the OnePlus 5 has been roughly the same size, with some slightly larger dimensions here and there. Lau admits, “I see a lot of demand for [smaller phones]. But looking at the industry, the technology of batteries hasn’t changed too much over all these years. If we can solve the battery problem, we would definitely make a smaller one. No doubt, the company isn’t going to be releasing a smaller phone anytime soon.

5G technology was yet another interesting topic that was discussed during the interview. According to Lau, the OnePlus 5G phone will be based on sub-6GHz frequency bands, which Lau says are easier to build. This will likely keep users in the US locked on T-Mobile which is the only carrier that uses the sub-6 wave. Lau stated, “The whole industry knows that it’s easier to build for sub-6 than for millimeter wave”. Both Verizon’s and AT&T’s 5G networks will have mmWave builds. However, he equally stated that by next year the company will find a solution for millimeter wave. Other aspects that were also discussed include beefing up security for its users’ data. He also threw up the possibility of having new camera capabilities on its next-gen model. He also restated that OnePlus will be releasing a smart TV but “not until it is ready”.

With respect to design, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition doesn’t look any different from the regular OnePlus 6T. You get the same display with a water-drop notch and a bit of bezel at the bottom. Flip it and then you know this is indeed a custom edition.

The back is covered in glass but the inside of the glass appears to have a design that makes it appear as if it is made of kevlar. There is also an orange paint job that begins at the bottom but fades off when it gets to the sides.

The arrangement of the dual rear cameras hasn’t changed so also is the position of the OnePlus logo but there is now a McLaren logo at the bottom of the phone. The phone still doesn’t have an audio jack

Not really excited about the design? Then you will be excited about its internals.

[envira-gallery id=”226658″]

The OnePlus 6T will come with 10GB of RAM! A first for a OnePlus phone. It will also be paired with 256GB of storage. However, the biggest addition is that it will come with a faster charging technology than that of the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus is calling it Warp Charge 30 and it will provide a day’s power in 20 minutes – 10 minutes faster than Dash Charge. So if Dash Charge gives you up to 60% in 30 minutes, Warp Charge 30 lets you reach that number in just 20 minutes. We presume that just like Dash Charge, Warp Charge 30 will only work with the included charger and cable.

With the OnePlus 6, it went with “The Speed You Need” and for the new OnePlus 6T the tag line is “Unlock The Speed”.

Now OnePlus is set to take things further with a new partnership with British automotive company, McLaren. And the result of its partnership is the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, the first of future McLaren-branded OnePlus devices.

OnePlus and McLaren both took to their respective social media accounts to announce their new partnership and also to reveal there would be a co-hosted event on December 11. The URL of the page where OnePlus announces the partnership and the upcoming event contains “mclaren-6T”, so we are pretty sure the event is for the launch of the Oneplus 6T McLaren Edition.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will have a different color, probably orange just like McLaren’s official color. It should also have the McLaren logo. With respect to specs, OnePlus may decide to add extra RAM and storage and bundle it with McLaren branded accessories.

With this announcement, OnePlus joins Huawei and OPPO on the list of Chinese manufacturers with a partnership with automobile companies.
