The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7t/">OnePlus 7T</a> comes in just two colors: Frosted Black and Glacier Blue. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7t-pro/">7T Pro</a> comes in just a single color variant: Haze Blue. But these weren&#8217;t the only color options that were being tested while developing the two smartphones.</p>
<p>Today, we have got a glimpse of the Metallic Gold OnePlus 7T, a color that was tested but never released for the device. The image was shared by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a>&#8216; product designer Hao Ran on Weibo.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/OnePlus-7T-Metallic-Gold-Prototype-RD.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-291789" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/OnePlus-7T-Metallic-Gold-Prototype-RD.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus 7T Metallic Gold Prototype R&amp;D" width="1024" height="682" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/OnePlus-7T-Metallic-Gold-Prototype-RD.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/OnePlus-7T-Metallic-Gold-Prototype-RD-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/OnePlus-7T-Metallic-Gold-Prototype-RD-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/OnePlus-7T-Metallic-Gold-Prototype-RD-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/OnePlus-7T-Metallic-Gold-Prototype-RD-631x420.jpg 631w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>I&#8217;ll be honest. After seeing the OnePlus 7T in the dark Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver color options over the past few months, the Metallic Gold color comes as a breath of fresh air. The gold color isn&#8217;t as bright as some shades and seems to have a finish similar to that of the Glacier Blue <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/09/oneplus-7t-hands-on-an-unexpected-color-shifting-experience/">which changed its shade based on the ambient lighting</a>.</p>
<p>Still, metallic gold can come off as a bit flashy for some people, which is probably why OnePlus decided not to release it alongside the blue and black color options for the device at launch.</p>
<p>While we probably won&#8217;t get such a fancy color option for the 7T, we would like to see new color options like red or even almond (like the 7 Pro). We also wouldn&#8217;t mind seeing something as funky as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/25/meizu-hd60-tropical-orange-sale-china/">Meizu&#8217;s Tropical Orange</a> or maybe <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/31/smartisan-nut-pro-3-arrives-with-2-designs-48mp-quad-cameras-sd855-and-smartisan-os-7-0/">Smartisan&#8217;s shade of green</a>.</p>
<p>So what do you think of the Gold OnePlus 7T? Like it or hate it?</p>
<h4 style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/24/poll-of-the-week-realme-x2-pro-or-oneplus-7t-which-gets-your-money/">Poll of The Week: Realme X2 Pro or OnePlus 7T, which gets your money?</a></h4>
