The launch event, which was done online, saw the manufacturer announce the OnePlus 8, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-8-pro/">OnePlus 8 Pro</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/14/oneplus-bullets-wireless-z-brings-fast-charging-to-earbuds-for-just-50/">OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z</a>. However, one device that was missing from the lineup is the much-anticipated OnePlus Z a.k.a. OnePlus 8 Lite. A teaser by OnePlus China on Weibo hints at the phone launching tomorrow.</p>
<p>The teaser is an image of a white box with a question mark on top and a caption that roughly translates to “If there will be a “mysterious new product“ at the launch event tomorrow, what do you think it will be?”.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-317093" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/OnePlus-Z-Weibo.png?x10805" alt="OnePlus Z Weibo" width="657" height="609" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/OnePlus-Z-Weibo.png 657w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/OnePlus-Z-Weibo-300x278.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/OnePlus-Z-Weibo-453x420.png 453w" sizes="(max-width: 657px) 100vw, 657px" /></p>
<p>The box is clearly a retail package for a phone and it is quite smaller than the retail box for the new OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. We believe it is the retail box for the OnePlus Z/OnePlus 8 Lite.</p>
<p>It makes sense that OnePlus is launching this phone in China (first) rather than globally. The phone is expected to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 processor, and unlike the rest of the world, Chinese phone buyers are more receptive to phones powered by <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek">MediaTek</a> processors.</p>
<p>The OnePlus Z is rumored to have a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a centered punch-hole. It has also been reported to have 48MP triple rear cameras, a 4000mAh battery capacity, and support for 30W Warp Charge.</p>
<p>Do you think the mysterious product is the OnePlus Z?</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>UP NEXT: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/14/the-oneplus-warp-charge-30-wireless-charger-has-a-massive-design-flaw/">The OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger has a massive design flaw</a></strong></h6>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">From a startup to a fully-fledged premium smartphone brand, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OnePlus/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">OnePlus </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">has come a long way since its inception in 2013. Now, as the brand is all set to unveil its 7th generation of smartphones, it has also tweaked its logo with bold letters and icons. In case you are wondering, the OnePlus 8 series is indeed the seventh generation of phones from the company as it ditched number 4 back in 2017 by l</span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/20/oneplus-5-launched-dual-cameras-year-solid-price/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">aunching the OnePlus 5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Although OnePlus still depends on feedback from its community, the brand has shifted its philosophy from making ‘flagship killers’ to producing ‘premium flagships’ competing directly with the big names like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. Also, the brand still somehow manages to undercut the competitors by pricing its devices slightly cheaper with OxygenOS as an icing on the cake.</span></p>

A new report has suggested that the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer will announce the OnePlus 8 series in mid-April, earlier than its usual launch cycle.</p>
<p>According to a source close to the company, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-8/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OnePlus 8</a> series can be expected to be revealed within the second week of April 2020. So far, OnePlus usually holds the global and Indian launch events on the same date or around a similar time frame to each other. So it is likely that the same can be expected again. India has become a key market for the brand, which is one of the most popular smartphone OEM in the premium segment of India.</p>

<p>From what we already know, OnePlus will launch at least three variants, including the base variant, the pro variant, and a new Lite variant as well. Reportedly, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-8-lite/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OnePlus 8 Lite</a> will arrive with a new angular design and will sport a 6.4 inch display, with a punch hole selfie camera on the front. It is also likely to have a high refresh rate of 90Hz, a trend becoming more popular in its flagship series. The leaked render also showcased a triple camera module on the rear and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/mediatek/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MediaTek</a>&#8216;s new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-1000/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Dimensite 1000 SoC</a> is expected to power the device, a first for the company.</p>

<p>Coming to the OnePlus 8, the device is reported to sport a slightly larger 6.6 inch curved display alongside a punch hole selfie camera. The resolution will be FHD+ and may arrive with an even higher 120Hz refresh rate. The camera system comprises a similar triple camera setup as well.</p>

<p>OnePlus reached out to us saying that this news was false. They have not canceled the offline launch event for the OnePlus 8.</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Reports of cancelling an offline launch event due to coronavirus are false. OnePlus has a history of hosting online and offline events, globally.&#8221; &#8211; </em>OnePlus</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><em>Original story as follows:</em></p>
<p>The businesses of various tech companies have been affected due to the COVID-19 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coronavirus/">coronavirus</a> outbreak in China. Smartphone OEMs in China have decided to hold online-only launch event. In the previous week, Xiaomi had held an online launch conference for the Xiaomi Mi 10 series. Upcoming flagship phones from Redmi, Realme, iQOO and other brands are expected to get unveiled through online launch events. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> founder and CEO Pete Lau has stated on Weibo that OnePlus will not be able to host a large offline launch event in the next few months. Hence, he is seeking ideas from OnePlus fans on holding a creative online launch conference.</p>
<p>The COVID-19 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coronavirus/">coronavirus</a> outbreak have resulted in shipping delays and cancellation of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 event. Like other smartphone brands, OnePlus seems to be gearing up to unveil the upcoming OnePlus 8 series through an online livestream event. In the past, OnePlus had online only launch events for its smartphones. In June 2017, OnePlus had held an online launch event to announce the OnePlus 5 and few years ago, the OnePlus 2 event was unveiled through a VR livestream.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7">OnePlus 7</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7-pro">OnePlus 7 Pro</a> smartphones were made official in May 2019. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/08/oneplus-8-series-will-launch-earlier-this-year-and-come-in-green/">A recent report</a> had revealed that the Chinese manufacturer may launch the OnePlus 8 series earlier this year. It is speculated that the lineup includes OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/06/oneplus-8-lite-updated-render-highlights-its-triple-rear-cameras/">OnePlus 8 Lite</a> smartphones. It is speculated that the OnePlus 8 lineup will be made official in late March or April. Probably, this could be the company’s strategy to build a wider gap between the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8T series that is expected to arrive in the second half of the year.  The OnePlus 8, 8 Pro and even the Lite edition may come in a new green color variant.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/18/oneplus-8-pro-renders-reveal-punch-hole-screen-and-quad-rear-cameras/oneplus-8-pro-renders-3/" rel="attachment wp-att-283731"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-283731" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-8-Pro-renders-3.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus 8 Pro renders" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-8-Pro-renders-3.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-8-Pro-renders-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-8-Pro-renders-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-8-Pro-renders-3-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></a></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/13/alleged-oneplus-8-appears-on-geekbench-database/">Snapdragon 865 mobile platform powered</a> OnePlus 8 series may come equipped with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/20/oneplus-8-pro-leaked-hands-on-image-reveals-120hz-selection-option-in-settings-menu/">120Hz refresh rate</a> supporting punch-hole screens. The OnePlus 8 Pro could be the first phone from the company to arrive with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/18/oneplus-8-pro-may-feature-ip68-water-and-dust-resistance/">IP68 water and dust resistance</a>. Also, the OnePlus 8 lineup may arrive with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/30/oneplus-joins-wireless-power-consortium-proof-oneplus-8-series-will-have-wireless-charging/">support for wireless charging</a>. Probably, the company will offer users with rapid wireless charging that will be as fast as wired quick charging technology.</p>

However, a recent report had revealed that the Chinese firm may launch it as early as at the end of the coming month. Rumors have it that the series will include three phones such as OnePlus 8 Pro, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-8">OnePlus 8</a> and OnePlus 8 Lite. A new leak that showcases the render of the OnePlus 8 Pro along with some of its key specs have also surfaced. Another leak carrying the live shot of the alleged OnePlus 8 series phone has surfaced to reveal key details.  However, the authenticity of the leaked image could not be confirmed.</p>
<h3><strong>OnePlus 8 Pro leaked specifications (Rumored)</strong></h3>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/18/oneplus-8-pro-renders-reveal-punch-hole-screen-and-quad-rear-cameras/">first renders of the OnePlus 8 Pro</a> had surfaced in October in last year. It had revealed that the phone sports a punch-hole screen and a vertical triple camera setup with a fourth camera and LED placed alongside. The new leak that mentions the key specs of the OnePlus 8 Pro carries an image that appears almost identical to the first renders. This time around the phone can be seen in green color. A popular tipster from India had recently claimed that the OnePlus 8 Pro will be arriving in a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/08/oneplus-8-series-will-launch-earlier-this-year-and-come-in-green/">new green color.</a> The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are expected to come in the new color. It remains to be seen whether the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/06/oneplus-8-lite-updated-render-highlights-its-triple-rear-cameras/">OnePlus 8 Lite</a> will be also available in green variant.</p>

The phone may come with 8 GB of RAM and it could be available in 128 GB and 256 GB storage choices. It could be housing a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast charging support. Readers are recommended to take the OnePlus 8 Pro leak with a pinch of salt as some of these specs are pretty obvious to arrive on the device.</p>

<h3><strong>Alleged OnePlus 8 live shot</strong></h3>
<p>The leaked shot shows the “About Phone” page on the OnePlus 8. As it can be seen, there is a punch-hole at the top-left corner on the display of the smartphone.  It mentions the model number of the phone as IN2019 and it can be seen that the device is connected 4G VoLTE network. A recent report had revealed that the OnePlus series phone that was certified by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/15/oneplus-8-in2011-india-variant-receives-bis-certification/">carried IN2011 model number</a>.</p>

<p>The handset runs on OxygenOS based Android 10 OS. It has a 90Hz Fluid AMOLED screen of 6.55 inches. The edges of the display are slightly curved. The leak further states that it is fitted with a 48-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera setup. The camera specs contradict other leaks that claim that the OnePlus 8 will have Certain portions of the image seem to be photoshopped. Hence, it is advisable to wait for further reports to know more about the OnePlus 8.</p>

In December, reputed leakster <em>@OnLeaks </em>shared the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/07/oneplus-8-lite-renders-leaks-with-a-design-similar-to-samsungs-galaxy-s11/">first CAD renders of the OnePlus 8 Lite</a>. The renders had revealed that the phone is quipped with dual rear cameras and a display with a top-center punch-hole. <em>SlashLeaks </em>has carried <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/05/alleged-live-photos-of-oneplus-8-lite-show-triple-rear-cameras/">some shots of a dummy unit of the OnePlus 8 Lite</a>. The image shows the device sporting a triple camera system instead of dual rear cameras. Now <em>@OnLeaks </em>has shared an updated render of the OnePlus 8 Lite with triple rear cameras.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/06/oneplus-8-lite-updated-render-highlights-its-triple-rear-cameras/oneplus-8-lite-dummy-unit/" rel="attachment wp-att-298966"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298966" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1737" height="1683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit.jpg 1737w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit-300x291.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit-768x744.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit-1024x992.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit-696x674.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit-1068x1035.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-dummy-unit-433x420.jpg 433w" sizes="(max-width: 1737px) 100vw, 1737px" /></a></p>
<p>The leaked shot seems to show a bunch of OnePlus devices placed inside a container. The blue colored device with triple rear cameras seems to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-8-lite">OnePlus 8 Lite</a>. The OnePlus phone that can be seen on the OnePlus 8 Lite with triple rear cameras has a notch on its display could be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-6">OnePlus 6</a>. Hence, it appears that the frontside of the OnePlus 8 Lite will continue to feature a punch-hole display.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/06/oneplus-8-lite-updated-render-highlights-its-triple-rear-cameras/oneplus-8-lite-updated-render/" rel="attachment wp-att-298968"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298968" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="2036" height="1200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render.jpg 2036w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render-300x177.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render-768x453.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render-1024x604.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render-696x410.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render-1068x629.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render-713x420.jpg 713w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-updated-render-1920x1132.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2036px) 100vw, 2036px" /></a></p>
<p>The updated render by <em>@OnLeaks </em>now features a triple camera system at the top-left corner. An LED flash can be seen placed next to the top camera. The rear shell of the phone seems to be made out of glass and there is a OnePlus logo towards the center. The punch-hole display of the phone is likely to be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader.</p>

The leak included <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/07/oneplus-8-lite-renders-leaks-with-a-design-similar-to-samsungs-galaxy-s11/">renders of the phone</a> and they showed it will have a punch-hole display like that of the new Galaxy Note10 Lite. It will also have a rectangular camera housing on the back that houses two cameras and an LED flash. Today, alleged live photos of the phone have surfaced on the web but they show a different design (and specs).</p>
<p>The photos show the OnePlus 8 Lite has a notch. This is not a waterdrop notch like that of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-6t/">OnePlus 6T</a> but a wide notch like the one on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-6/">OnePlus 6</a>. The images show there is a camera visible on the left side of the notch.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298932" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus 8 Lite live photo" width="714" height="552" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo.jpg 714w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-300x232.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-696x538.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-543x420.jpg 543w" sizes="(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px" /></p>
<p>Moving to the back, we see the OnePlus 8 Lite has three rear cameras and not two as the renders showed, although the camera housing has remained unchanged. However, the LED flash is no longer inside the housing and has now moved to the left side of the setup and has taken the form of a pill.</p>
<p>There is a OnePlus logo on the back of the phone and nothing else. Since there is no fingerprint scanner on the back, it is safe to say it has an in-display fingerprint scanner under its AMOLED display.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-298931" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-b.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus 8 Lite live photo" width="598" height="435" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-b.jpg 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-b-300x218.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-b-324x235.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/OnePlus-8-Lite-live-photo-b-577x420.jpg 577w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></p>
<p>The source of the images has said nothing about the specifications of the OnePlus 8 Lite. There are speculations it will be a mid-range phone but it is also possible it may have a flagship processor such as the Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 855+ inside it. This makes sense so that those who can&#8217;t afford the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/03/oneplus-8-3d-renders-reveal-punch-hole-display-will-have-wireless-charging-too/">OnePlus 8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/18/oneplus-8-pro-renders-reveal-punch-hole-screen-and-quad-rear-cameras/">OnePlus 8 Pro</a> which will be 5G devices can pick up the OnePlus 8 Lite (without 5G).</p>
<p>The OnePlus 8 Lite can also go up against the newly announced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/03/samsung-galaxy-s10-lite-launched-packing-an-sd855-soc-centralized-punch-hole/">Galaxy S10 Lite</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/04/samsung-galaxy-note-10-lite-unveiled-with-the-note-8s-exynos-9810-soc-s-pen-more/">Galaxy Note10 Lite</a>, and if priced well, may actually be a worthy option over the upcoming <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/pixel-4a">Pixel 4a</a>. Is this the year we get a $400 OnePlus phone? Let us keep our fingers crossed.</p>

<p>Now, OnePlus founder and CEO <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/pete-lau">Pete Lau</a> revealed during a meeting that the company&#8217;s upcoming OnePlus 8 series smartphones getting launched next year will be the &#8220;most beautiful flagship of OnePlus.&#8221;</p>

<p>As per the reports, the company is all set to launch three smartphones with its upcoming OnePlus 8 series, which will include the standard OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro as well as a toned OnePlus 8 Lite.</p>
<p>The upcoming flagship phones from the company will come powered by Qualcomm&#8217;s flagship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/05/snapdragon-865-mobile-platforms-specifications-confirmed/">Snapdragon 865</a> chipset. OnePlus has already confirmed that all the devices from the company will now feature a higher refresh rate display. This means that the devices could with either 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate and not the standard 60Hz.</p>
<p>Last month, an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/20/oneplus-8-pro-product-diagram-leak/">alleged product diagram</a> of the OnePlus 8 Pro has been leaked online, which showcases the quad-camera setup on the smartphone’s back panel. It shows camera module that sits at the top-center position, with all the sensors aligned vertically. Along with the triple-camera setup we saw on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7t-pro/">OnePlus 7T Pro</a>, the company will be adding a ToF sensor as the fourth one.</p>

While it launched a year after the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-one/">OnePlus One</a>, it had the same Snapdragon 801 flagship processor. It has been four years now since the launch of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-x/">OnePlus X</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> is yet to release a similarly priced phone. A new leak reveals we may be getting an affordable OnePlus phone which is reported to be called the OnePlus 8 Lite.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-293813" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus 8 Lite" width="2048" height="1152" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/OnePlus-8-Lite-c-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></p>
<p>The leak is actually 3D renders of the upcoming device courtesy of <em>OnLeaks</em> in partnership with <em>91Mobiles</em>. The images show the OnePlus 8 Lite will look like a lot of Samsung&#8217;s own upcoming phones including the Galaxy S11.</p>
<p>The OnePlus 8 Lite is shown to have a punch hole right in the middle just like that of the Galaxy Note 10 series. Its siblings, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/03/oneplus-8-3d-renders-reveal-punch-hole-display-will-have-wireless-charging-too/">OnePlus 8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/18/oneplus-8-pro-renders-reveal-punch-hole-screen-and-quad-rear-cameras/">OnePlus 8 Pro</a> will have their own punch hole in the top left and top right corners respectively.</p>
<p>The Lite version of the next OnePlus series not only looks different from its siblings with respect to its display. It also has a different camera design on the back. This is where OnePlus is again adopting a similar design to the upcoming Galaxy S11.</p>
[envira-gallery id=&#8221;293816&#8243;]
<p>The camera housing is a rectangular bump that is positioned on the left side. It is home to two cameras and an LED flash. There is no info on the camera configuration but we won&#8217;t be surprised if the secondary camera is a depth sensor instead of a telephoto or ultrawide angle camera. There is also a laser focus system flanking the cameras on the right.</p>
<p>The OnePlus 8 Lite has a curved back that is covered in glass. There is no fingerprint scanner on the rear neither is there one on the side. This means the device probably has an AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p>The phone has a USB Type-C port but no audio jack. The alert slider is on the right along with the power button while the volume keys are on the left. There are two openings for the speaker at the bottom and on the opposite side is the SIM tray.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GUoEV71Rcs4?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>The phone&#8217;s dimensions are 159.2 x 74 x 8.6 millimeters, making it taller than the OnePlus 7.</p>
<p>While the OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to be a mid-range device, we have a feeling it may actually have a flagship processor &#8211; this year&#8217;s own. We may also see the phone launch with Qualcomm&#8217;s new Snapdragon 765 processor.</p>
<p>We also do not know if it will launch alongside its siblings or get an earlier or later release date. Nevertheless, we are excited to see what OnePlus has to offer with this new device.</p>
