OnePlus last month released the OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 8, 8T, and 8 Pro. Even before the users get a little excited about the update, OnePlus itself warned them about some bugs that they may face. And as warned by the company, users did face plenty of issues with their OnePlus phones. Now, OnePlus has started rolling a new OxygenOS 12 update for the aforementioned devices that brings several fixes.

The new OxygenOS 12 update is based on Android 12 and it has the version number KB2001_11.C.15_1150_202204021905(via). This update is currently being rolled out for devices in India and it brings stability in addition to the fixes. Some users in the previous update noticed slightly slower charging speeds, this update promises to fix that issue. Unfortunately, there’s no April security patch included with this update.

The full changelog mentions the following improvements and fixes.

System

• [Optimized] the charging speed in some scenarios
• [Optimised] the communication stability when making a phone call
• [Fixed] the occasional issue that unable to use face unlock
• [Fixed] the issue of abnormal display when enabling applications in some scenarios
• [Improved] system stability

Cameras

• [Fixed] the abnormal notification issue of “Camera is running”

The Oneplus 9R and 8 series users should have received the OTA update. If not, head to the Settings page and check for updates. In case you don’t see the update, do not worry, as it is slowly arriving on all devices in the country. Your device might be the next to get the update.

There’s no confirmation as to when this update will reach the European OnePlus 9R and 8 devices. However, there should be a rollout in the coming weeks.

The OnePlus 9R was released in India in the first half of 2021 with OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11. The device also debuted in China with Android 11-based ColorOS 11. The Chinese version is expected to get ColorOS 12 (Android 12) stable update this month. On the other hand, the Indian version has received the Android 12-based  OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 1 update only now.

OnePlus has finally released the OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 1 update for the OnePlus 9R. The latest public beta software build for the smartphone enables users to experience Android 12.

Anyone can install the update without the need for registration. All they have to do is download the required file and install it from Settings > System > System Updates > Top Right Icon > Local Upgrade.

Since its beta release, OnePlus warns of bugs. The brand says that some third-party apps may not function properly and the clock might be missing the dial display when the AOD feature is on.

If not satisfied with the beta update, users can roll back to the stable channel. Though the process is similar, it will wipe the phone’s internal storage.

As OnePlus is not known for revealing the timeline for stable rollout, it’s not known when the OnePlus 9R will get access to OxygenOS 12 stable update based on Android 12.
