OnePlus has recently released the OxygenOS 11_A.05 update for the OnePlus 9RT which brings the February security patch and a whole host of bug fixes. Additionally, OnePlus has also claimed to fix the persistent bug that freezes the OnePlus Gallery app when users try to share pictures from the app. So let’s take a look at all the changes.

According to the official OnePlus community post, the update for the OnePlus 9RT comes with a firmware version MT2111_11_A.05 and weighs about 179MBs in size.

As usual, the OTA update is rolling out in batches, so it will take some time before it reaches everyone. If you have not received this OTA update yet, you can check its availability by heading to Settings > System > System updates on your device.

As for the long-standing question of when the OnePlus 9RT will receive the Android 12 based OxygenOS 12 update, the brand has confirmed a release window of March-April.

Earlier Today, OnePlus officially launched the OnePlus 9RT in India with flagship-grade specs like the Snapdragon 888 SoC, 65W Warp Charge, and triple rear cameras. However, the phone comes with the old OxygenOS 11 in India, which wasn’t the case with the Chinese model. In China, the phone boots on the latest OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. But later today, the company itself revealed that the phones will soon get the newer software in India.

OnePlus has now officially confirmed that the OnePlus 9RT will get the next-gen OxygenOS i.e. the OxygenOS 12 in March/April 2022 in India. The OxygenOS 12 update will be indeed based on the latest Android 12 OS.

Moreover, OnePlus has already confirmed that their phones will get 3 years of Android upgrades. Having said that, the OnePlus 9RT is expected to receive major Android updates till 2024.

OnePlus 9RT Pricing and Specifications 

The OnePlus 9RT costs ₹42,999 (~$580) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB variant and  ₹42,999 ($580) for the 12GB and 256GB variant. It comes in two color options – Nano Silver and Hacker Black.

In terms of the specs, the phone has a 6.62-inch punch-hole AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, 397 PPI, and DCI-P3 color gamut. It equips a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie snapper and has a 50MP + 16MP + 2MP triple rear-camera system. Inside it has the Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phone has a 4,500mAh battery and supports 65W fast charging technology.
