The brand is teasing a few details about the phone before its launch, proving it will be worth our wait.

According to a recent Weibo post made by OnePlus, the brand has confirmed that the smartphone will be getting three major Android updates and four years of security patches. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will be launching with Android 13 onboard, meaning that the device will continue to receive major Android updates until Android 16. Other than that, the post has also confirmed that the smartphone will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, an infrared blaster, and NFC support. Earlier, the brand also confirmed that the Ace 2 Pro will feature Wi-Fi 7 support. Here are some of the key specs of the Ace 2 Pro.

Earlier reports suggest that the device will come with a 5000mAh battery with 150W wired charging support and an appealing 6.74-inch 1.5k OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of storage. Lastly, the device will come with the 50MP flagship Sony IMX890 sensor, previously used in smartphones like the OnePlus 11.

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is set to launch on August 16 in China. According to previous reports, the smartphone is developed to be a cost-effective variant of the OnePlus 11. As the launch date draws near, a new teaser has emerged online revealing that the OnePlus Ace 2 pro will support the Wi-Fi 7 protocol. Check out the details below.

According to the post, we have found that the new Ace 2 Pro will be equipped with Wi-FI 7 protocol which will provide a much faster Wi-Fi speed and increased bandwidth, making the device easy to run at full network speed. One thing to note is that Wi-Fi 7 has not been officially released yet, but as per the teaser, OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will be a future-proof smartphone that will support Wi-Fi 7.

What is Wi-Fi 7?

Wi-Fi 7 is the 7th generation of Wi-Fi and is said to be four times faster than its predecessor, Wi-Fi 6E, with reduced latency, increased capacity, and boosted stability. OnePlus is gearing up to launch the Ace 2 Pro smartphone in China on August 16. The company has already released a promotional video that reveals the phone’s design, and rumors have been circulating about its specifications. Recently, Li Jie, the President of OnePlus China, shared a video on his Weibo account that demonstrates the Ace 2 Pro new “Rainwater Touch Control” feature.

Have you ever had your phone not respond to your touch inputs because it was raining or your hands were sweaty? OnePlus’ new self-developed “Rainwater Touch Control” technology claims to solve exactly this problem.

In the shared video, the upcoming OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is compared to the Apple iPhone 14 Pro. The video shows both phones being exposed to rain, with water droplets on their screens. When the user tries to unlock the iPhone 14 Pro, the touch input is not registered properly and the phone takes several tries to unlock. On the other hand, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro unlocks on the first try with no problems.

This suggests that OnePlus’ Rainwater Touch Control technology is really effective in wet conditions. This could be a major advantage for OnePlus, as it will allow users to use their phones more easily in wet weather.
