<p>The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is a China-exclusive smartphone. It <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/17/oneplus-ace-racing-edition-with-dimensity-8100-max-6-59-inch-lcd-120hz-display-launched-in-china/">was launched in May 2022</a>.</p>

<p>Despite being nearly 2 years old, the device is still on sale. Lately, retailers are clearing the stock by offering heavy discounts on this phone.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Just last month, there <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/12/oneplus-ace-racing-edition-gets-54-discount/">was an insane deal</a> on it. Weeks later, a similar deal has gone live now.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="750" height="645" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Ace Racing Edition" class="wp-image-460143" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition-300x258.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition-696x599.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition-488x420.jpg 488w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></figure>

<p>The 12GB + 256GB variant of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-ace-racing/">OnePlus Ace Racing Edition</a> is currently available at just ¥1,169 (~$165) in China. For comparison, the same variant of the handset was even cheaper at ¥1,139 (~$160) during last month’s deal.</p>

<p>Originally, the device retails at ¥2,499. JD (Jingdong) is <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/745/760.htm">offering</a> a flat ¥1,300 discount and a ¥30 discount coupon. </p>

<p>For just $165, Chinese consumers get a smartphone powered by a MediaTek Dimesnity 8100 Max SoC. This chip is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.</p>

<p>On the front, the handset sports a 6.59-inch display with a punch hole at the top left corner. The LCD panel offers a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) and a 120Hz refresh rate.</p>

<p>The back of the phone features a triple camera system comprising a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro snapper. On the front, there’s a 16MP shooter for selfies and video calls.</p>

<p>Other features include a VC liquid cooling system, dual stereo speakers, an x-axis linear vibration motor, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Last but not least, the smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging.</p>

<p>Alternatively, customers can opt for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-12t-pro/">Redmi Note 12T Pro</a>, which is also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/17/redmi-note-12t-pro-with-dimensity-8300-ultra-soc-144hz-display-on-sale-for-just-175/">available at around the same price</a> for a similar set of features.</p>

<p>Last May, OnePlus <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/17/oneplus-ace-racing-edition-with-dimensity-8100-max-6-59-inch-lcd-120hz-display-launched-in-china/">launched a smartphone</a> exclusively for its home market China. The device goes by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-ace-racing/">OnePlus Ace Racing Edition</a>.</p>

<p>As the name suggests, it is a variant of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-ace/">OnePlus Ace</a> (aka <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-10r/">OnePlus 10R</a>). It offers the same chipset as the regular model but at a cheaper price by downgrading other specs.</p>

<p>The device was already affordable when it was initially released. Now, is being sold at more than half the original retail price.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Ace Racing Edition" class="wp-image-460862" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/004dYw4Bgy1h2bma9o1y3j62yo1o0e8102.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The top-end 12GB + 256GB memory configuration of the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition was introduced at ¥2,499 (~$350). More than a year after its debut, the handset is now up for grabs at just ¥1,139 (~$160) on JD.</p>

<p>This limited-time clearance deal <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/738/608.htm">brings down</a> the price of the product by a whopping 54%. At this price, there’s not a single phone on the market that can rival its performance.</p>

<p>For the unaware, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC. This chip is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The device draws energy from a 5,000mAh battery and carries support for 67W SuperVOOC fast charging standard.</p>

<p>It flaunts a 6.59-inch display with a punch hole at the top left corner. This LCD panel offers a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. It houses a VC liquid cooling system and a high-density graphite layer for thermal management.</p>

<p>The cameras on the smartphone include a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide unit, a 2MP macro snapper, and a 16MP front-facing shooter. Last but not least, it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an x-axis linear vibration motor, and dual stereo speakers.</p>

A couple of weeks ago, we briefly got our hands on the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-ace-racing/"> OnePlus ACE</a>. Although it comes with the Dimensity 8100 Max processor and support for up to 150W fast charging, the lack of a ‘Never Settle’ slogan and the alert slider disappointed many OnePlus fans. Today, we&#8217;ll bring you the review of the <strong><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-ace-racing/">OnePlus ACE Racing Edition</a></strong>, a product that may prove that the brand has just begun to settle.</p>
<h3><strong>OnePlus ACE Racing &#8211; Design</strong></h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-scaled.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-467302" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Racing Edition Review 09" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-09-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">The design of the OnePlus ACE is based on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-gt-neo-3/">Realme GT Neo 3,</a> while today&#8217;s Racing Edition is an appearance replacement edition for the OPPO K10 (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/20/oppo-k10-5g-review-premium-budget-phone-experience/">review</a>). It&#8217;s hard to notice the difference between them in terms of parameters, but over the appearance, they have a very similar back cover and are made of the exact same material. This plastic material with a matte finish can be very effective in preventing fingerprints, but may not be conducive to heat dissipation, which we will verify later in the gaming test.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-scaled.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-467297" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Racing Edition Review 23" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-23-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">The camera module of the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition looks identical to that of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-k10-5g/">OPPO K10</a>. Although OnePlus has added a decorative camera shape in the lower right corner, seemingly disguising that this is a four-camera phone, the phone actually has only two lenses really working in daily shooting and another macro lens of only 2 megapixels.</p>
<p class="p1">For me the only positive detail of the Racing Edition is the support of a 3.5mm headphone jack, I believe that many people do not want to put up with the high latency of wireless headphones when playing games, but unfortunately, there is no other brand of flagship phones that support 3.5mm headphone jack except Sony. At this point, the Racing model looks good.</p>

<p class="p1">The OnePlus ACE Racing Edition has a 1080P 120Hz LCD screen. As a result, it has a wider chin, as well as wider screen bezels, and a larger hole-punch front camera. And the in-screen fingerprint recognition has been also replaced by a side recognition button serving as a fingerprint reader, which, however, I think is a more efficient way to unlock the phone, as the capacitive fingerprint button has a better unlock speed and success rate than the under-screen fingerprint recognition in most cases.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-scaled.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-467299" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Racing Edition Review 07" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-07-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1">Compared to the OnePlus ACE, the Racing Edition&#8217;s LCD screen looks sharper, especially when displaying text. But the LCD screen doesn&#8217;t perform as well as OLED in terms of color, contrast, and brightness, as you can see it has lighter colors and lower contrast, and doesn&#8217;t support HDR content, either.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p1">So if you like watching movies on your phone, I don&#8217;t really recommend the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition, and another point to consider is that it doesn&#8217;t support AOD, which means you&#8217;ll have to manually wake up the screen to check it when you want to check the time or just miss a notification.</p>
<h3><strong>OnePlus ACE Racing &#8211; Performance &amp; Benchmarks</strong></h3>
<p class="p1">OnePlus ACE Racing Edition comes with the enhanced<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/17/oneplus-ace-racing-edition-with-dimensity-8100-max-6-59-inch-lcd-120hz-display-launched-in-china/"> Dimensity 8100 Max</a> chipset. We didn&#8217;t do performance and gaming tests in the previous <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiH-rN9bx8M&amp;ab_channel=gizmochina">OnePlus ACE unboxing video</a>, so this time I&#8217;ll show how the Dimensity 8100 Max performs on a OnePlus phone with the ACE Racing Edition.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-scaled.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-467309" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Racing Edition Review 15" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-15-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p class="p4">Here are some benchmark results we got on the Ace racing.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-scaled.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-467290" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Racing Edition benchmarks 05" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-05-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p class="p4">Antutu score is 777529, GeekBench 5 score is 959 single-core, and 3760 in multi-cores. 3D MARK scores 6000. The performance is a bit better than the Redmi K50, so let&#8217;s see how it performs in real gaming. In Genshin Impact, the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition was able to maintain a frame rate of around 50 fps for the first ten minutes, but as the phone got hotter, the frame rate dropped to around 40, yet I didn&#8217;t feel that the phone was too hot and obviously, OnePlus was still too conservative in its performance optimization.</p>
<p>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-03-scaled.jpg?x44794'><img width="150" height="150" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-03-150x150.jpg?x44794" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail" alt="" loading="lazy" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-02-scaled.jpg?x44794'><img width="150" height="150" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-02-150x150.jpg?x44794" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail" alt="OnePlus Racing Edition gaming 05" loading="lazy" /></a>
</p>
<p class="p6"><span class="s2">PUBG has not yet been optimized on the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition. We are only able to run the game at the maximum framerate of 40fps with HDR graphic settings. Obviously, it’s far too easy for the Dimensity chipset.</span></p>
<h3><strong>OnePlus ACE Racing &#8211; Cameras</strong></h3>
<p class="p1">The Ace Racing is weaker in terms of camera configuration compared to OnePlus ACE, and the main camera doesn’t support OIS, although its target group probably doesn’t care much about taking photos, here we still want to show you the camera comparison between these two phones.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-scaled.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-467298" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Racing Edition Review 24" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/OnePlus-Racing-Edition-Review-24-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s2">Compared to the OnePlus ACE, the Racing Edition’s main camera has a similar dynamic range and detail performance, but the colors are lighter than the OnePlus ACE and the view angle is a bit smaller. The ultra-wide-angle lens performs similarly, with the OnePlus ACE having a wider view angle and more vibrant colors.</span></p>
<p class="p1">When we move to night scenes, the gap starts to show up, with the Racing Edition not comparing to the OnePlus ACE in terms of dark details due to the smaller sensor size and lack of OIS support.</p>
<p class="p1">From these samples, you can see that the Racing Edition’s photo is brighter, but looking at the photo parameters, we can see that it just uses a higher ISO and faster shutter speed, which explains why the Racing Edition photo has poorer detail.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="OnePlus Ace Racing Edition Review: Strong Competitor To Redmi Note 11T Pro" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/F0jDVauDr7c?start=235&#038;feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p class="p1">But what&#8217;s interesting is that when you manually turn on the night mode to extend the shutter time and have a firm grip on the racing model, you will get a night shot with better detail performance than the OnePlus ACE.</p>
<p class="p1">What&#8217;s even more incredible is that the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition&#8217;s ultra-wide-angle lens performs much better than the OnePlus ACE, and in dimmer scenes as well, you can see the photos taken by the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition have better detail and color.</p>

<p class="p1">Okay, so that&#8217;s the full review of the OnePlus ACE Racing Edition. As I said at the beginning, it&#8217;s a phone without many features of OnePlus, but it&#8217;s not a bad product in this price range, and the gaming performance is even able to compare to OnePlus&#8217; flagships. I think it&#8217;s actually a good entry-level product for those new users who are new to OnePlus for the first time, but I still wish OnePlus could bring the alert slider button back to these entry-level products.</p>

<p>The news arrives from known tipster Mukul Sharma who shared the information on Twitter. In the tweet, he shared an Indian IMEI database listing that showcased the 10R Lite moniker. This smartphone carried the model number PGZ110, and is believed to be the rebranded Ace Racing Edition for the Indian market. For those unaware, the regular Ace model had also launched in India under a different name, which was the 10R.</p>
<p>In other words, it is highly likely that the Ace Racing Edition model will also launch under the 10R series as well. If this is true, we already have specifications regarding the Racing Edition variant. It sports a 6.59 inch Full HD+ LCD panel that supports 120Hz refresh rate and has a punch hole cutout for the 16 megapixel selfie shooter on the front. The rear features a triple camera setup that includes a 64 megapixel primary sensor, an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 2 megapixel depth sensor.</p>

Other features include a side mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5G supports, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and Android 12 OS based ColorOS out of the box.</p>

Meanwhile, even OPPO&#8217;s sub-brand OnePlus released a new midrange phone. The <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-ace-racing">OnePlus Ace Racing Edition</a> has a similar design to the new OPPO Reno8, but it comes with different specifications: while the former is more interesting for casual users, the latter is better for gaming. But which one is the best for your actual needs? This is a comparison between the specifications of the vanilla OPPO Reno8 and the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition which will clear your ideas in regards.</p>

<h3>Design</h3>
<p>As already mentioned above, the OPPO Reno8 and the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition come with a similar design including a camera module merged with the rear side and with the same color as the rest of the body. But the OPPO Reno8 is the winner of the design comparison because it is more compact, thinner, and lighter than its rival. Further, it has a cleaner camera module and includes an in-display fingerprint reader, while the OnePlus flagship killer has a side-mounted sensor. These two phones are not built with premium materials as they come with plastic bodies, but they still have a good build quality.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Display</h3>
<p>Are you looking for the best image quality? If so, you should opt for the OPPO Reno8. Unlike its internal rival, it has an AMOLED panel showing brighter colors and deeper blacks. The panel sports a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of up to 800 nits, and an in-display fingerprint reader, as well as the Gorilla Glass 5 protection. OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is not the best display out there in terms of image quality because it has an IPS panel, but it is a better screen for gaming because it sports a 120 Hz refresh rate and it has a wider 6.59-inch diagonal. Further, the OnePlus device comes with stereo speakers providing a better audio experience, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Specs &amp; Software</h3>
<p>If your goal is to get the most advanced performance, then the best choice for you is the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform built with a 5 nm production process and running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz: it is an upgrade of the Dimensity 8100 coming with better AI performance and it is a high-end SoC. The OPPO Reno8 sports a lower-end Mediatek Dimensity 1300 chipset running at a max frequency of 3 GHz, but it is still a good midrange SoC. Both the handsets offer up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage, as well as the 5G connectivity and Android 12 out of the box, customized by ColorOS 12.1.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Camera</h3>
<p>Despite being a phone made for gamers and power users available at a pretty affordable price, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition has a more interesting rear camera than OPPO Reno8: it includes a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro lens. The OPPO mid-ranger lacks an ultrawide camera and it replaced the 64 MP main sensor with a 50 MP camera. On the other hand, it sports a superior selfie camera with a resolution of 32 MP.</p>

</ul>
<h3>Battery</h3>
<p>The battery of the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is 500 mAh bigger with a capacity of 5000 mAh and the phone comes with a processor built with a better production process, so it lasts more on a single charge in several scenarios. On the other hand, the OPPO Reno8 offers faster charging speeds thanks to 80W fast charging.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Price</h3>
<p>The starting price of the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition in China roughly translates into €280/$300 at the actual change, for the configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The same memory configuration of the OPPO Reno8 carries a listing price that roughly translates into €350/$375 in China. Both these phones are currently available only in the Chinese market and their launch date for the global market is still unknown. We do not even know if the OnePlus handset will ever hit the global shelves. So which phone is the best to choose? If you are a gamer or a power user and you are looking for better performance, as well as a more versatile camera and a bigger battery, then you would better go for the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition. But this device has a disappointing IPS panel and a thicker design, so if the display is a more important priority, the OPPO Reno8 is actually a better choice. Overall, I would go for the OnePlus flagship killer. Which one would you pick?</p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>According to known tipster Mukul Sharma, the Chinese smartphone maker might launch the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition in the Indian market soon. The tipster added that the upcoming handset was spotted on the brand&#8217;s official India website. In other words, this basically confirms that the Ace Racing Edition is making its way to the region. Although, considering that the original <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-ace/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ace</a> model was launched as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-10r/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OnePlus 10R</a> for the Indian market, we can expect the Racing Edition to likely be renamed as well.</p>
<p>Talking about the upcoming device itself, the Racing Edition will come in two color option, namely Gray and Blue. The handset hasn&#8217;t been officially announced yet, but we have a fair idea regarding its possible specifications. It is expected to sport a 6.59 inch Full HD+ resolution with an IPS LCD panel that has a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will be equipped with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek-dimensity-8100-max/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max</a> paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_460143" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-460143" style="width: 750px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-460143" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Ace Racing Edition" width="750" height="645" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition-300x258.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition-696x599.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-Edition-488x420.jpg 488w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-460143" class="wp-caption-text">OnePlus Ace Racing Edition</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>A large 5,000mAh battery pack will power the device, which supports 67W fast charging. For photography, it will feature a triple camera setup on the rear, including a 64 megapixel primary sensor, an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the device houses a 16 megapixel selfie shooter. The device will likely run on Android 12 OS out of the box, so stay tuned as we will be covering the China launch later today.</p>

<p><figure id="attachment_460142" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-460142" style="width: 2258px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-460142 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Ace Racing Edition" width="2258" height="1104" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue.jpg 2258w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-300x147.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-768x375.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-1024x501.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-533x261.jpg 533w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-696x340.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-1068x522.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-859x420.jpg 859w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OnePlus-Ace-Racing-blue-1920x939.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2258px) 100vw, 2258px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-460142" class="wp-caption-text">OnePlus Ace Racing Edition</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Starting with the design, the smartphone looks nothing like the OnePlus Ace and instead draws design queues from the OnePlus 10 Pro. It features a volume rocker on the left side while the power button is located on the right side. The device, however, lacks an alert slider.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-ace-racing-edition/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">OnePlus Ace Racing Edition</a> will feature a 6.59-inch flat IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels and 120Hz refresh rate. It has a punch-hole on the top left, noticeable bezels, and a thick chin. The fingerprint sensor will be located on the power button. It has 164.3×75.8×8.7mm dimensions and will weigh 205g.</p>

<p>The new model was just recently spotted on GeekBench, a popular benchmarking platform, prior to its official release on May 17. This listing on GeekBench revealed a number of its key specifications, which includes the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8100/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MediaTek Dimensity 8100</a> SoC. The processor will be paired with 12GB of RAM. Looking at the GeekBench results, we can observe that the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition managed to achieve a single core result of 868 points. Meanwhile, its multi core tests reached 3505 points.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the listing also revealed that the upcoming handset carries the model number PGZ110. The GeekBench database describes a MediaTek processor with has a 4+4 configuration and a clock speed of 2.85GHz. Thus, it is expected to feature a Dimensity 8100 SoC. This chipset will be paired with a Mali G610 MC6 GPU and 12GB of RAM. The smartphone will also run on Android 12 OS out of the box as well.</p>

<p>It is powered by a 2.85GHz octa-core processor and up to 12 GB of RAM. The device will offer up to 256 GB of internal storage. The phone will run on the Android 12 OS and ColorOS. It will be packed with a 5,000mAh battery.</p>
<p>The specifications of the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition are almost identical to those of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-k10-5g">OPPO K10 5G</a>. Hence, it appears that it could be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8000">Dimensity 8000</a> SoC. It is expected to come in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/09/oneplus-ace-racing-edition-image-specs-surfaces-online/">three variants</a> like 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. The device will be available in grey and blue colors.</p>

<p>According to the images, the smartphone will ditch the OnePlus Ace design and rather adopt the stove-top camera module design first featured in the OnePlus 10 Pro. Weibo tipster <em><a href="https://weibo.com/6048569942/Lsdsvisfa" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Digital Chat Station</a></em> has revealed that the smartphone will come with competitive gray and light speed blue colors.</p>

<p>Going back to the TENAA listing, the upcoming Ace Racing edition will measure 164.3 x 75.8 x 8.7mm and house a 6.59-inch LCD LTPS display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels. Under the hood, the device will have a 2.85GHz octa-core processor, and 8GB / 12GB of RAM.</p>
<p>Other than that, the device will arrive with a 4,890mAh rated battery, a 16-megapixel front camera, and a triple camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel setup.</p>
<p>The Weibo tipster has also stated that the OnePlus Ace Racing edition will be available in 8GB + 128GB/256GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations. It will be a limited edition release and is likely to debut this month only. Additionally, the tipster also informs that the company is planning around 5 to 6 new smartphone models with a Dimesity chipset inside.</p>
