Last month, OnePlus launched the Buds Pro TWS earphones with the latest Bluetooth V5.2 and impressive features like ANC, IP55 water resistance, and Qi-certified wireless charging. Given that it has Bluetooth v5.2, the pairing process and the range is quite good. It is also fairly simple to switch between one device to other by disconnecting and connecting to the new one. But, it still misses out on one significant feature which lets the buds connect to two devices simultaneously.

The earbuds miss out on a feature called Bluetooth multipoint that allows the earbuds to connect to two devices at once and switch to any of the devices easily. This feature is useful when you want to listen to music on your phone and immediately switch to the desktop for some audio work. Well, OnePlus seems to bring this missing feature to the OnePlus Buds Pro soon and it could be called – dual connection.

OnePlus in talks with the folks at XDAdevelopers revealed that the company will bring a feature called “dual connection” in future software updates. The feature will let users switch between two devices without any hassle.

Although it is coming, we aren’t sure if it will work similarly to what other wireless pairs of buds offer with their multi-point pairing. Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait for the next OTA update. Once, we receive some more information on the same, we’ll update the post.

The OnePlus Buds Pro comes with 11mm dynamic drivers and has a shiny chrome-plated stem. It has Smart Adaptive Noise Cancellation and Low Latency High-Definition Audio Codec support. The earbuds along with the case are claimed to last for up to 38 hours on a single charge. There’s also Qi-certified wireless charging onboard that will offer 10 hours of music playback with just 10 minutes of charging.

OnePlus has officially announced the OnePlus Buds Pro alongside the Nord 2 smartphone. The Buds Pro arrives with a premium design and several powerful features crammed inside the compact body. The new premium earbuds are an upgrade over the OnePlus Buds which was launched last year.

One of the prominent features onboard the TWS earphones is support for Adaptive Noise Cancellation technology support. This is an improvement over the Environmental Noise Cancellation utilized by the OnePlus Buds. The smart ANC actively drowns out unwanted sound frequencies like environmental noise or chatter in real-time. It also adjusts the noise cancellation level, providing a completely immersive user experience.

The premium earbuds are each equipped with three microphones that are capable of filtering out noise levels of up to 40dB. This ensures the delivery of a better and more comfortable sound output adapted to different situations. OnePlus claims this gives the Buds Pro an edge over earbuds packing just the conventional Active Noise Cancellation systems whose noise cancellation levels are fixed. Calls are also designed to be noise-free even in loud environments due to the enhanced noise reduction algorithms and mechanical design aimed at reducing wind noise.

In terms of design, the wireless earbuds come in matte black and white colour variants. The body has a glossy metallic covering on the steems to offer a better operating experience and for sweat and dust resistance. Internally, the earbuds each feature two large 11mm dynamic drivers and Dolby Atmos support. The earbuds also come with the OnePlus Audio ID sound profile carefully calibrated to cater to user-specific sound sensitivities.

Another major improvement on the Buds Pro is the battery life. The earbuds come with an upgraded battery which can last up to 38 hours along with the carry case. The earbuds themselves can last 7 hours without ANC while the charging case can provide an additional 3 hours. When the ANC is turned on, the earbud lasts for 5 hours while the charging case delivers 23 hours extra. Further, a 10-minute wired recharge of the Buds Pro’s case will provide 10 hours of battery life, thanks to the Warp Charge support onboard. The truly wireless earbuds also offer Bluetooth 5.2 support and latency as low as 94ms with Pro Gaming mode turned on.
