<p>As reported by <a href="https://9to5google.com/2020/10/12/oneplus-gallery-version-4-0-77-brings-oxygenos-11-design-more/">9to5Google</a>(via <a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-gallery-4-0-77-update-brings-oxygenos-11-design-changes/">XDADevelopers</a>), the new update for the OnePlus Gallery app is available to all users of OnePlus. This means users running older <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OxygenOS">OxygenOS</a> and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android">Android</a> can enjoy the experience of new UI. Accordingly, OnePlus users can update the latest version(4.0.77) on Google Play Store. Alternatively, you can try downloading the extracted APK from third-party sites like <a href="https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-gallery/#description">APKMirror</a>. The major change is in the UI. Unlike OxygenOS 10, the new UI focuses on one-handed mode and accessibility.</p>
<h3><strong>Change to UI, launch speed, and more</strong></h3>
<p>Before, the options like Photos, Collections, and Explore would be in tile view at the bottom. Now, three new stories like the bar divide the menus and it can be accessed via swiping on either side. Also, the menu name is bigger in size and it scales up and down as you swipe below and above. While this looks like it&#8217;s inspired by Samsung&#8217;s One UI, the reachability of options is a welcoming change. The entire changelog of the new update is below:</p>
<ul>
<li>Optimize the speed of app launch</li>
<li>Update OOS11 UI style</li>
<li>Fix issues with missing screenshots and photos</li>
</ul>

<p>That said, few users are reportedly facing issues like app crashes, lags, and missing photos. However, we expect OnePlus to address this quickly before it gets out of hand. OnePlus has been constantly updating the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-gallery">OnePlus Gallery App</a> with loads of features. The latest one before this was 3.13.33 brought support for the Nord series, fix slow-mo editor, etc. In the earlier versions added <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/16/download-apk-oneplus-gallery-v3-12-33-adds-casting-option/">casting options</a>, added <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/14/oneplus-gallery-edit-4k-60fps-videos-support/">4K 60fps</a> editing option, integrated <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/08/oneplus-gallery-app-google-lens-download/">Google Lens</a>, and more.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">At the end of April, OnePlus released OnePlus Galley v3.11.2 for its smartphones on the Play Store. This version of the app </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/01/oneplus-gallery-v3-11-2-update-integrates-google-lens-button/"><span style="font-weight: 400">integrated Google Lens</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> just like in Google Photos. <p><span style="font-weight: 400">However, the cast option in OnePlus Gallery can only be used to beam pictures on display devices with Chromecast like smart TVs powered by Android TV and Smart Displays. It cannot be used to cast videos and the same has been confirmed by an APK teardown by</span> <a href="https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-gallery-3-12-33-adds-a-google-cast-button-for-beaming-photos/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">XDA Developers</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Also, this version of the app can be installed on any OnePlus smartphone other than the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/14/oneplus-8-oneplus-8-pro-specs-price-release-colors-all-you-need-to-know/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Oneplus 8 series</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. And the casting option also works as expected. Interested users can download the APK from the APKMirror link provided at the end of the post.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Anyway, we expect OnePlus to roll out this update officially on Play Store for all OnePlus smartphones.</span></p>
