Chinese smartphone giant OnePlus is all set to release the OnePlus Nord 2T on May 19. The Nord 2T has been a regular in the rumor mill as well as on certification platforms giving us an idea of the specifications and features that it will arrive with. We have even spotted a leaked unboxing video which gave us an early look at the design. Here is a compendium of all that we know about the Nord 2T, including the expected specs, design, and other details.

Design & display

The Nord 2T will arrive as one of OnePlus’ finest smartphones in recent time. The device will feature a thin build coupled with a unique rear camera design. The device features a 6.43-inch flat AMOLED display panel with an FHD+ resolution and support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The display panel has a punch hole cut out at the top left corner obviously housing the selfie camera.

The volume and power buttons are located on the right side of the frame with the power button likely doubling as a fingerprint scanner.

Specs & Features

The Nord 2T has been confirmed to pack a Dimensity 1300 SoC, one of the latest flagship processors from MediaTek. The Dimensity 1300 is the successor to last year’s Dimensity 1200. The chipset features four Cortex-A78 cores (1 Ultra A78 Core, running up to 3GHz, and 3 A78 Super Cores, up to 2.6GHz) and 4 Cortex-A55 efficiency cores with up to 2GHz clock frequency, in an octa-core arrangement. The chipset is built on TSMC’s 6nm process and provides support for 64-bit applications. The graphics are fired up by an ARM Mali-G77 MC9 CPU.

The processor is paired with 8GB of RAM while there is 128GB of storage onboard. We expect the device to be available in other memory configurations Under the hood, the Nord 2T crams a 4,500mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging support. It runs on the latest Android 12-based OxygenOS 12.1 from the go.

Camera

For photography, the OnePlus Nord 2T seems to have been built for lovers of smartphone photography. The device packs a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. A 32-megapixel IMX615 sensor is housed in the punch hole cut out for snapping selfies and for video calls.

Pricing, colors & availability

While we expect to know the actual price in India on May 19 when the device is launched, an earlier listing on AliExpress shows that the Nord 2T is priced at around $400. Thus, it may retail below Rs. 30,000 in India.
