OnePlus has started pushing a new OxygenOS 14.0.0.700 update for its popular budget-range Nord CE 3 Lite 5G smartphone. This update deals with multiple buds, improves the performance and connection stability, and improves security.

The update fixes an issue where the secure keyboard wouldn’t show up automatically on the lock screen. It also makes some third-party music players more reliable, preventing them from becoming unresponsive.

Connectivity features have been improved as well, with more stable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. The camera has also been tweaked to stop flickering in some apps and to work more smoothly overall. The update also includes improvements like better system stability and the latest Android security patch for May 2024.

After releasing the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 4 build for the flagship OnePlus 11, the popular budget-range OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is also receiving its first OxygenOS 14 open beta build based on Android 14. For users in India who are interested in taking part in this Open Beta program, the application window will be open from November 7. However, it’s important to note that even though it’s termed an “open beta,” participation will be available only until a specific limit of applications is reached. Here are all the details.

How to Apply:

To begin the process, you must first confirm that your phone has been updated to the detectable version: CPH2467_13.1.0.611(EX01), CPH2467_13.1.0.610(EX01), or CPH2467_13.1.0.573(EX01). To apply, navigate to your device’s Settings, select “About device,” tap “Up to date,” click on the icon at the top right, go to “Beta program,” and follow the provided steps. After the application channel is closed, OnePlus will review your application within 5 working days. If your application is approved, you can expect to receive the new version within 3 workdays. To download the version once your application is successful, go to Settings, select “About device,” and click on “Download Now.”

Considering that it is a Beta build, it might have some issues that can hinder the user experience or cause your device to malfunction. Here are some of the known issues.

While the iQOO Z7 5G starts at Rs 18,999, the Nord CE 3 Lite 5G is priced at Rs 19,999 for its base model. Here is a comparison between the two phones based on their specifications.

Display and Build

Right off the bat, the iQOO Z7 5G offers a superior 6.38-inch AMOLED panel that offers an FHD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The Nord CE 3 Lite has a 6.72-inch LCD FHD+ display with support for a higher 120Hz refresh rate. While the iQOO phone has a smaller display, many buyers may prefer purchasing it considering that is equipped with a superior AMOLED panel that promises better color reproduction and viewing experience under bright sunlight. In the camera department, the Z7 has an upper edge as it comes with some additional features like OIS and 30fps 4K video recording (because of D920 chip), which are not available on the Nord CE 3 Lite.

The iQOO Z7 5G is already available for purchase, whereas the Nord CE 3 Lite is set to go on sale on April 11. The 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variants of both phones are priced at Rs 18,999. The Z7 also comes in 6GB+128GB, which is priced at Rs 18,999. On the other hand, the Nord CE 3 Lite also comes in 8GB+256GB, which is priced at Rs 21,999. Now, popular tipster SnoopyTech has leaked the European price along with the complete spec sheet and HD renders of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G.

The leaked Nord CE 3 Lite 5G renders reveal a flat frame design with a slightly curved rear panel for a comfortable grip. It will come in Pastel Lime and Chromatic Grey colors, with a power button on the right side and volume buttons, and a SIM tray on the left. The bottom edge will have a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a primary speaker grille.

The rear panel boasts a triple-camera setup with two large circular cutouts, including a 108MP main camera, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 6.72-inch flat screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The front camera is a 16MP f/2.4 shooter with a hole-punch cutout at the top center.

As per a tweet by tipster Mukul Sharma, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G may launch in the next few months in the country.

By sharing the above image, the tipster claimed that he spotted the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G moniker on OnePlus India’s website. Unfortunately, there is no information on the specifications of the device. The moniker reveals that it will be succeeding the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, which debuted in April 2022.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G debuted as a rebranded version of its distant cousin, the Realme V25, which remained exclusive to the Chinese market. Hence, there is a possibility that the Nord CE 3 Lite could be a rebadged version of an Oppo or Realme phone.
