OnePlus is wrapping up its OxygenOS 16 rollout as the last batch of eligible devices has just started receiving the latest upgrade. The stable update is now rolling out to the OnePlus Nord CE 4, OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G, and OnePlus Pad.

The Android 16-based update for the OnePlus Nord CE 4 comes with the firmware version CPH2613_16.0.2.400(EX01), while the Nord CE 4 Lite 5G is receiving it as CPH2619_16.0.1.301(EX01). The OnePlus Pad is receiving the latest update with firmware version OPD2203_16.0.2.400(EX01). The rollout begins with India for all three OnePlus devices, and it will eventually reach other regions within the next few days.

If you’re rocking any of these three OnePlus devices, the OxygenOS 16 update may be ready for download. Visit the Software update section in the Settings app to download and install the latest update.

OnePlus users can also join the Release Candidate Program to get the updates earlier than most users. For this, Settings > System & Updates > Software update > Beta Program, and click the update now button to download the update.

Related: Here’s the complete OxygenOS 16 rollout timeline

OxygenOS 16 is a major upgrade with a substantial download size of several gigabytes. To ensure a smooth upgrade to OxygenOS 16, make sure your device has at least 5-6GB of free internal storage and is charged to at least 40% before installing the update. For additional safety, create a backup of your important data.

With the OnePlus Nord CE 4, Nord CE 4 Lite, and OnePlus Pad now receiving the OxygenOS 16 update, only two devices are now left to receive this major update: OnePlus 10 Pro 5G and OnePlus Pad Lite. And with over three weeks of January still to come, we won’t be surprised if OnePlus finishes the OxygenOS 16 rollout this month itself.

We’ll keep updating you with the latest information on the same in our OnePlus section. You can also join our Telegram channel to get instant notifications about the latest product launches, software updates, and major tech events.

OnePlus entered the budget smartphone category in India with the launch of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite in 2022. This device was introduced as a toned-down version of the OnePlus Nord CE 2, which itself was a watered-down version of the OnePlus Nord 2.

These three series of handsets make up OnePlus’ mid-range and budget smartphone portfolio. They are currently in their 4th gen, hence the number ‘4’ in their names.

We recently reviewed the OnePlus Nord CE 4. We found it to be as good as its predecessor OnePlus Nord CE 3.

On the other hand, we did not get a chance to try out the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. But we got to play around with the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, which shares almost everything with its successor. We were surprised by the unexpected goodness it offered.

Now, two years later, how does the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite fare? Having used the phone over the past few days, I have shared my thoughts in this article.

Before I pen down my opinion, I want to let the readers know that OnePlus India who loaned us a review unit had no editorial input or early look. The thoughts shared here are mine alone.

The Good Stuff

Unlike in the premium smartphone segment, consumers get a wide variety of options in the budget category. Thus, handsets come in all shapes and sizes.

Since design is subjective, companies cannot satisfy all users with a single design. But there are some designs that cater to a wider audience. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite has this.

Personally, I prefer the looks of the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite over any other sub-₹20000 smartphone in India right now. It is simple yet elegant, especially in Ultra Orange. You can also avail it in either Mega Blue or Super Silver color options.

The device features a sturdy flat plastic frame like most phones in the segment. This frame houses tactile power and volume buttons on the right side and a dual SIM/MicroSD (shared) card slot on the left. A USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack can be found at the bottom.

The two cameras are vertically placed on the top left corner of the handset’s rear plastic panel which looks and feels like glass. With a thickness and weight of 8.1mm and 191g, respectively, the phone is comfortable to hold.

The product doesn’t have any unnecessary large text anywhere on its body. It only has the iconic OnePlus logo on the center of the rear panel.

Simply put the design is as clean as the one offered by Samsung’s smartphones. Thus, I believe it would be preferred by most people.

I know I described the product’s design a lot because that’s the only thing that stood out more to me other than its battery life. The 5,500mAh battery inside it can easily last for more than a day even with 5G mobile data.

Refueling it can be done within an hour, thanks to 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support. The required power adapter and cable are included in the box along with a basic silicone protective case.

As for longevity, OnePlus promises two Android upgrades and three years of security patches. Currently, the smartphone boots Android 14-based Oxygen OS 14, and therefore, it should receive up to Android 16 in the future.

This is not the best software support in the segment but it is comparable to most devices.

Up to Standard

The most notable upgrade that the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite offers over its predecessor is the display. The device finally gets an AMOLED panel compared to LCD screens on the previous two models.

The new 6.67-inch centered punch-hole display retains the 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Additionally, it is noticeably brighter with an official spec of 1200 nits brightness in auto high brightness mode (HBM). The peak brightness is rated at 2100 nits but it’s of no use as the product cannot play HDR content.

The main camera also gets an upgrade in the form of an OIS-assisted 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor. However, the secondary sensor is merely a 2MP depth sensor and the selfie camera continues to be the same 16MP shooter. There’s no 2MP macro snapper as found on the forerunners.

The output from the camera setup is just fine. There’s nothing to home about. It does a decent job when there’s adequate light. But in low light, it struggles a lot which is common among most phones in the category.

The dual speakers do their job of offering stereo sound effects. The sound quality, however, is average. There’s also a ‘300% Ultra Volume Boost’ mode which can be activated by pressing the volume up button after the volume bar hits the maximum level. This artificial bump in volume is terrible but can be useful in traffic for gig workers.

The Achilles’ Heel

The one thing that hasn’t changed in the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite from its predecessors is its chipset — Qualcomm Snapdragon 695. The chip is paired with the same LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

This silicon cannot handle the new OxygenOS 14 efficiently. The animations are slow and there are frame drops all over the place.

I faced the same on the more expensive OnePlus Nord CE 4 as well as its forerunner OnePlus Nord CE 3. So this is not limited to OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite, however, it is more pronounced given the less powerful nature of the system on chip.

On top of this, the app opening time and touch responses are slower compared to other handsets in the same price segment. This is not a deal breaker for many but when there are better options, why settle?

OnePlus is known to improve the overall experience of its products post-launch through software updates. I expected a similar magic for the Nord CE 4 Lite but unfortunately, none of the OTA updates brought meaningful changes in the performance department.

The Snapdragon 695 is an Achilles’ heel for the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. The brand shouldn’t have cheaped out by using an older and less powerful chipset.

Conclusion

Historically, the OnePlus Nord CE Lite series has not been the best offering in the sub ₹20000 price category in India. But still, the first two models were not only the brand’s best sellers but also the whole segment in some quarters. I won’t be surprised if the latest model continues this tradition.

Unlike in other regions, OnePlus has a ‘premium image’ in India. It is considered an equal to Samsung and Apple in India.

To credit where it’s due, OnePlus offers an overall premium experience from unboxing to after-sales service compared to its Chinese counterparts in the region. This is the primary reason that drives the sales of its most affordable smartphone lineup.

Anyhoo, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite was a good option when it was released. It was almost the same as most competitors of its time. I cannot comment on its successor OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite as I did not get to experience it.

Coming to OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite, it lacks behind competitors in nearly all aspects. Today, there’s a better smartphone for all things, be it performance (iQOO Z9 / Vivo T3) or camera (Realme Narzo 70 Pro).

Therefore, it’s hard for me to recommend the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite wholeheartedly. I hope the company comes up with an improved successor next year.

OnePlus recently launched the Nord CE 4 Lite smartphone globally and in the Indian market. Positioned in the highly competitive mid-range segment, it faces strong competition from both new and established brands. One of its main competitors is the Nothing Phone (2a), which is similarly priced and brings its own set of features to the table. But which one comes out on top? Let’s break down their specifications and see how they compare across key areas.

Display

Both phones come equipped with captivating 6.67-inch and 6.7-inch AMOLED displays, respectively, offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for a seamless user experience. Resolution remains identical at 1080 x 2400 pixels, ensuring sharp visuals.

The OnePlus edges out slightly with a peak brightness of 2100 nits compared to Nothing Phone 2a’s 1300 nits which should offer better visibility in outdoor environments.

Design

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G utilizes a combination of glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back. The Nothing Phone 2a follows a similar approach but with a tougher Gorilla Glass 5 front and plastic back and frame. Both offer an IP54 rating for basic dust and water resistance. The Nothing Phone 2a differentiates itself with a unique transparent back design incorporating three LED notification lights.

Both offer a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rarity in today’s market, but only the Nothing Phone 2a features NFC for contactless payments.

Performance and Software

The biggest concern for the Nord CE 4 Lite is the recycled heart of the phone – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695. This processor has been powering OnePlus budget phones since the Nord CE 2 Lite in 2022. While it can handle everyday tasks, it’s starting to show its age. Gamers and those who crave a super snappy experience will likely find it sluggish.

Nothing Phone (2a), on the other hand, has a newer MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro that offers better performance for both everyday use and gaming. Both phones come with 8GB of RAM and offer 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Software-wise, both phones run the latest Android 14 operating system. However, the experience differs. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G utilizes OxygenOS 14, a familiar interface known for its clean and customizable approach. The Nothing Phone 2a features Nothing OS 2.5.5, a lighter skin that prioritizes a near-stock Android experience. Ultimately, the choice depends on whether you prefer a more minimalist or feature-rich interface.

Camera Systems

Both phones equip a dual rear camera system. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G opts for a 50MP main sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) alongside a 2MP depth sensor for portrait mode. The Nothing Phone 2a takes a different approach with dual 50MP sensors – a wide and an ultrawide – offering more versatility when capturing landscapes and group photos. Both lack telephoto capabilities, a common omission in this price range.

Over on the front, the Nothing Phone 2a boasts a higher-res 32MP camera compared to the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G’s 16MP sensor.

Battery Life and Charging

Both phones come with sizable batteries: the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G Indian variant has a 5500mAh battery, the global version has a 5110mAh battery, and the Nothing Phone (2a) has a 5000mAh battery. While real-world battery life will vary based on usage patterns, both should comfortably last a full day on a single charge.

Charging speeds differ significantly. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G supports faster 80W wired charging compared to the Nothing Phone 2a’s 45W wired charging.

Price

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite is available in Super Silver, Mega Blue, and an India-exclusive Ultra Orange color. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at Rs 19,999, while the 8GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 22,999.

The Nothing Phone (2a) comes in White and Black colors. It starts at Rs 23,999 for the base 8GB + 128GB variant whereas the 8GB + 256GB configuration carries a price tag of Rs 25,999. The higher 12GB + 256GB configuration carries a price tag of Rs 27,999.

Here’s a quick rundown of the specs of two phones:

Specification

OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite

Nothing Phone 2a

Display

6.67 inches AMOLED, 1080 x 2400 pixels, 120Hz

6.7 inches AMOLED, 1080 x 2412 pixels, 120Hz, Gorilla Glass 5

Processor

Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro

RAM

8GB

8GB or 12GB

Storage

128GB or 256GB

128GB or 256GB

Main Camera

50MP (wide) + 2MP (depth)

50MP (wide) + 50MP (ultrawide)

Front Camera

16MP

32MP

Battery

5500mAh (India) / 5110mAh (Global)

5000mAh

Fast Charging

80W

45W

Fingerprint Sensor

Yes (under display, optical)

Yes (under display, optical)

Headphone Jack

Yes

Yes

NFC

No

Yes

Software (OS)

Android 14, OxygenOS 14

Android 14, Nothing OS 2.5.5

Verdict

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite isn’t a bad phone by any means. It offers a decent display, good battery life, and a capable camera system for casual users. However, if you’re a power user or someone who values the latest features and future-proofing, it’s worth considering the Nothing Phone (2a). It boasts a more versatile camera system with an ultrawide sensor and convenience features like NFC for contactless payments. Additionally, its eye-catching transparent design sets it apart from other phones in its segment.

OnePlus recently debuted its Nord CE 4 Lite 5G smartphone in the global market including India. The device comes with many significant upgrades over its predecessor, including an improved display, improved camera as well a bigger and faster charging speeds. However, there are many other choices in this sub-20,000 INR that are also clad with attractive features. We recently made a comparison with the iQOO Z9, and in this article, we will put the Nord CE 4 Lite 5G against the Realme Narzo 70 Pro.

Display: Similar but no HDR on the OnePlus

Both the Nord CE 4 Lite 5G and the Narzo 70 Pro feature boxy designs, with flat sides and backs however, the Nord CE 4 Lite has a relatively minimalistic camera island compared to the large circular camera island which is quite common these days. Both devices feature an all-plastic body.

On the front, there isn’t that much of a difference with both devices offering a 6.67-inch 1080 x 2400 pixels screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 600 nits of typical brightness. Both smartphones also have a peak brightness of around 2000 nits, however, only the Narzo 70 Pro is capable of playing HDR videos, so this peak brightness number is kind of useless on the Nord CE 4 Lite.

Performance: Narzo has the advantage

The Narzo 70 Pro features a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chip, while the Nord CE 4 Lite features the three-year-old Snapdragon 695 processor. This chip has also been onboard the Nord CE 3 Lite and CE 2 Lite 5G, which means that the device is still stuck on the performance levels of the 2022 model. While the devices are pretty similar in single-core performance, the Nazro has an advantage in multicore tasks. Additionally, the Narzo also offers better graphics performance, if you plan on gaming on your device.

Realme’s offering also has an upper hand when it comes to storage, as it uses UFS 3.1 technology, compared to the UFS 2.2 used on the OnePlus device. This means that launching apps, loading files, and transferring data will be noticeably faster on the Narzo 70 Pro.

The only saving grace for the Nord CE 4 Lite is its slightly bigger 5,500mAh battery and faster 80W charging. In comparison, the Narzo Z0 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery and 67W fast charging.

Camera: Superior sensors on the Narzo

Compared to its predecessor, the CE 4 Lite comes with a significantly improved 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor. That said, the Narzo 70 Pro outclasses the OnePlus offering yet again with its OIS-assisted 50 MP Sony IMX890 camera sensor. For those unaware, the IMX890 is a flagship-grade camera sensor that has previously been used in devices like the OnePlus 11, OnePlus 12R, and the Nothing Phone (2).

The secondary sensor on the CE 4 Lite is a 2 MP depth sensor, while the Narzo 70 Pro offers an 8 MP ultrawide (f/2.2) along with a 2 MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. On the front, both drives use a 16 MP sensor for snapping selfies.

Software

Software has typically been an area where OnePlus devices excel. However, since Realme UI 5.0 and OxygenOS 14 now share the same codebase, they are very similar. Both devices feature minimal bloatware.

As for software support, both drives are promised 2 major Android updates along with three years of security patches. They have both launched with Android 14 onboard so users can expect updates till Android 16.

Pricing

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G has launched for ₹19,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, whereas the 8GB + 256GB model costs ₹22,999. The drive will go on sale starting June 27 with a Rs 1,000 instant discount for ICICI Bank and OneCard cardholders.

On the flip side, the Realme Narzo 70 Pro 5G was also launched for ₹19,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model and ₹21,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. That said, the brand is currently offering the device with a massive ₹4,000 and ₹5,000 discounts on these variants, knocking their prices down to ₹15,999 and ₹16,999.

Verdict

Despite the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G offering several upgrades over its predecessor, its reliance on the outdated Snapdragon 695 processor puts it at a disadvantage in the sub-₹20,000 price range. In contrast, the Narzo 70 Pro boasts a superior processor, significantly faster storage, and a better camera setup.

While the Nord CE 4 Lite’s battery life and fast charging are commendable, they do not sufficiently compensate for the other compromises. Moreover, Realme is set to rain on OnePlus’s parade by offering significant discounts on the Narzo 70 Pro 5G, making it an even more appealing option.

The new mid-range model dropped in India for under 20,000 INR. But at this price range, how does it stack up against the iQOO Z9? Which one is better? Let’s find out in this comparison.

OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite vs iQOO Z9: Snapdragon or Dimensity?

While there are many similarities between the two devices, one of the major differences between the Nord CE 4 Lite and iQOO Z9 are their chipsets. Under the hood, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. Meanwhile, the iQOO Z9 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC.

For whatever reason, OnePlus decided to retain the Snapdragon 695, which was also found on the Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord CE 3 Lite. This means that it is still employing an aged processor. So despite launching back in March 2024, the iQOO Z9 has a better chipset.

Bigger Battery and Faster Charging

An area where OnePlus makes up ground is in the battery department. While the iQOO Z9 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery pack, the Nord CE 4 Lite packs a larger 5,500mAh cell. The latter also supports 80W wired fast charging, but the former only supports 44W wired fast charging. In just 52 minutes, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite can hit 100 percent charge. The iQOO Z9 only managed a 50 percent charge in 30 minutes, as per official notes.

Display and Camera are nearly identical

From the front and back, the two smartphones are quite similar to one another. Both devices sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that offers FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Nord CE 4 Lite’s screen has 2,100 nits of peak brightness, which is slightly higher than the 1,800 nits found on the Z9.

These similarities are reflected in the cameras at the rear. Both models pack a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A 16-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls can be found on the front of the iQOO Z9 and Nord CE 4 Lite. These devices with a plastic frame and back, but the iQOO Z9 has a slight advantage thanks to its IP54 rating for water and dust resistance.

Pricing and Verdict

OnePlus and iQOO’s mid range devices come in two storage configurations, which have identical price tags. The 8GB + 128GB variant costs 19,999 INR and the 8GB + 256GB version is priced at 21,999 INR. However, the iQOO Z9 is currently on sale with a notable 3,000 INR discount. This brings its effective price tag down to just 16,999 INR.

So if you’re on a strict budget, the iQOO Z9 seems better equipped for your needs. It is hard to recommend the Nord CE 4 Lite at the moment, considering its outdated processor and pricing. You do get a flat 1,000 INR discount with bank offers on the new OnePlus phone, but the iQOO Z9 still strikes as the better deal.

OnePlus has carved a niche for itself in the budget-friendly smartphone segment with its Nord CE series. The “Lite” moniker within the CE range signifies a focus on affordability while retaining some core features. The latest addition, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite, builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessors, the Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord CE 3 Lite, while introducing noteworthy upgrades and refinements. Let’s delve into a detailed comparison of these three models to assess how they stack up against each other.

OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite

Display

The Nord CE4 Lite takes a clear lead in the display department. It boasts a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smoother user experience and deeper blacks compared to the 6.59-inch and 6.72-inch LCD panels found on the CE2 Lite and CE3 Lite respectively, both with 120Hz refresh rates. The CE4 Lite’s display also gets brighter, reaching up to 2100 nits peak brightness compared to the 680 nits of the CE3 Lite and unspecified brightness levels for the CE2 Lite.

Design and Other Features

The design language across all three phones is relatively similar, with a punch-hole display and a plastic back. However, the CE4 Lite sheds some weight at 191g compared to the 195g of its predecessors. Another noteworthy addition in the CE4 Lite is the in-display fingerprint sensor, a feature missing in both the CE2 Lite and CE3 Lite, which relied on side-mounted fingerprint scanners.

The CE4 Lite also boasts an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, which is absent in the previous models. All three phones retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, a welcome feature for audio enthusiasts.

The Nord CE4 Lite also introduces a new “Super Silver” color option alongside the standard “Mega Blue” and the India-exclusive “Ultra Orange,” providing users with more choices to personalize their device.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, all three models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC, ensuring smooth performance for everyday tasks and casual gaming. The Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord CE 3 Lite offer up to 8GB of RAM, while the Nord CE4 Lite is available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations. Software-wise, the Nord CE4 Lite ships with Android 14 and OxygenOS 14, providing the latest features and optimizations compared to the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12.1 on the Nord CE 2 Lite and the Android 13-based OxygenOS 13.1 on the Nord CE 3 Lite.

Cameras

The camera department sees a shift in the CE4 Lite. It ditches the triple rear camera setup of its predecessors for a dual camera system. The main sensor, however, gets a significant bump to 50MP with a larger 1/1.95” Sony LYT-600 sensor and f/1.8 aperture. This suggests potentially better low-light performance and overall image quality compared to the 64MP sensor in the CE2 Lite and the 108MP sensor in the CE3 Lite.

Both the CE2 Lite and CE3 Lite retained the 2MP macro and depth sensors. The CE4 Lite keeps the 2MP depth sensor but ditches the macro sensor entirely. The front camera remains consistent at 16MP across all three phones.

Battery and Charging

Battery capacity sees a notable upgrade in the Nord CE4 Lite, packing a 5500mAh battery compared to the 5000mAh batteries found in the Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord CE 3 Lite. Moreover, the Nord CE4 Lite supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, which significantly outpaces the 33W fast charging in the Nord CE 2 Lite and the 67W SuperVOOC fast charging in the Nord CE 3 Lite.

Price

In terms of pricing, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite maintains the competitive pricing strategy of its predecessors, offering excellent value for its features and specifications. The base model of the Nord CE4 Lite starts at Rs. 19,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 22,999. This pricing is in line with the launch prices of the Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord CE 3 Lite.

Conclusion

The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite emerges as a compelling upgrade over its predecessors, offering a superior OLED display, enhanced camera capabilities with OIS, a larger battery with faster charging, and the latest Android 14 software. While the processor remains the same, the overall package delivers a more refined and enjoyable smartphone experience. If you’re seeking a budget-friendly device with impressive features and a focus on display quality and camera performance, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is a worthy contender in the market.

Possible Oppo K12x Rebrand

The biggest rumor surrounding the Nord CE 4 Lite is that it might be a rebranded version of the Oppo K12x, launched in China earlier this year. This suggests significant similarities in specifications between the two phones.

Display and Design

If the K12x is indeed the blueprint, the Nord CE 4 Lite is expected to boast a significant upgrade in display technology compared to its predecessor. It will likely feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the phone is rumored to incorporate an in-display fingerprint sensor and a peak brightness of 2100 nits.

Leaked images of the device hint at a sleek design with a flat frame, a trend that has become increasingly popular in recent smartphones. The back panel appears to have a glass finish, adding to the premium look and feel.

Performance

The whispers surrounding the processor are a little mysterious. While the Oppo K12x came equipped with the Snapdragon 695 chipset, rumors suggest the Nord CE 4 Lite might pack the recently unveiled Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. Don’t expect a drastic performance leap though, as both chipsets share similar core architecture. The phone is likely to be offered in configurations with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, providing ample multitasking capabilities. Storage options could range from 128GB to 256GB.

Camera

In terms of camera capabilities, the Nord CE 4 Lite is likely to sport a dual-lens setup on the rear, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. This configuration should enable decent photography results, especially in well-lit conditions. The front of the phone is rumored to house a 16MP selfie camera for capturing clear and detailed self-portraits.

Battery and Charging

The device is expected to feature a large 5,500mAh battery. This should easily provide enough juice to last through a full day of moderate to heavy usage. Additionally, the phone is said to support 80W fast charging.

Software

The Nord CE 4 Lite is expected to run on OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14, out of the box. This should provide users with a smooth and user-friendly interface along with the latest features and security updates. The phone is also likely to include a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming increasingly rare in modern smartphones.

Pricing and Availability

While there’s no official word on pricing yet, considering the expected specifications and the Oppo K12x’s price range, the Nord CE 4 Lite is likely to fall under the Rs. 20,000 mark in India. The official launch is set for June 18, 2024, so stay tuned for confirmation on pricing and availability.

Conclusion

Based on the leaks, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite appears to be a compelling option in the budget smartphone segment. The phone offers a large and smooth display, a decent camera setup, a long-lasting battery, and fast charging capabilities. If you’re looking for a reliable and affordable smartphone for everyday use, the Nord CE 4 Lite is definitely worth considering. However, it’s wise to wait for the official launch to get confirmation on all the specifications and the final price tag before making a decision.

Following the April release of the mid-range Nord CE 4, OnePlus is preparing to launch another Nord-branded phone. A teaser page has gone live on Amazon India revealing that a new “all-day entertainment companion” will be revealed on June 18 at 7 PM Indian time.

Although the teaser doesn’t explicitly name the phone, the page title and image file name confirm it’s the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. The company hasn’t shared much about the phone, but rumors suggest it will be a rebranded version of the Oppo K12x, launched in China back in March.

If this is accurate, we can expect a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate—a significant upgrade over its predecessor’s LCD screen. The new model may also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Regarding performance, the Oppo K12x debuted with the Snapdragon 695 chipset, but rumors suggest it might be replaced with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. However, don’t expect a major performance boost, as both chipsets share similar core architecture. The SoC will likely be paired with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.

For the camera setup, the device is expected to have a dual-lens system on the back with a 50MP and a 2MP sensor. The front could feature a 16MP selfie camera. The battery is expected to have a capacity of 5,500mAh, with support for 80W fast charging.

New Bluetooth SIG certifications hint at the imminent arrival of the OnePlus Nord 4 and Nord CE 4 Lite.
The Nord 4 appears to be a performance-focused mid-ranger, potentially a rebranded version of the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 3V. Leaks suggest that the device could come with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset.

Expected specs include 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and a large 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging. The display is rumored to be a 6.74-inch AMOLED with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,150 nits. The device could feature a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.

Meanwhile, the Nord CE 4 Lite positions itself as an affordable mid-ranger with decent specifications. It is said to be a rebranded version of the upcoming Oppo A3 and could feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, a 5,500mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The phone could also come with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC.

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G has been spotted on UAE’s TDRA website with model number CPH2621. The certification also confirms its “OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G” moniker, as well as the fact that OnePlus plans to launch this device in the wider global market. Although the brand has not revealed any details about the device in an official capacity, the Nord CE 4 Lite is said to be a rebranded version of the Oppo A3, and will likely come with a similar spec sheet.

OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G expected specs:

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite will likely feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display offering an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This will be a major upgrade over its predecessor, which offers an LCD screen. We can also expect it to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

OnePlus‘ popular Nord lineup is expected to get a new mid range handset soon. The Nord CE 4 Lite is the device in question and it may offer a number of upgrades over its predecessor. So here’s everything you need to know about this smartphone.

OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite could be a rebranded Oppo A3

OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite: Performance upgrade

The brand’s upcoming device was just recently spotted in a leak. Tipster Sanju that it will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. This is a noticeable upgrade over its predecessor, the Nord CE 3 Lite. To recall, the older model launched with the Snapdragon 695 SoC. So we can expect the Nord CE 4 Lite to offer improved performance overall.

This is a respectable mid range chipset that can handle most tasks and even gaming to a degree. Interestingly, the chip is also featured on the Honor X9b. The Nord CE 4 Lite is also expected to offer 8GB or 12GB of RAM along with up to 256GB of internal storage.

CE Lite now features AMOLED

OnePlus unveiled the Nord CE 3 Lite back in 2023 with a tall 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel that offered Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. But the tipster has claimed that the Nord CE 4 Lite will come with a bunch of upgrades over its predecessor, and the display is one of them. Apparently, the newer device will feature an AMOLED display. Although, it is slightly shorter, measuring 6.67 inches but is rumored to retain a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The screen will also house an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Larger battery for better endurance

OnePlus may boost the battery life as well on the Nord CE 4 Lite. While the 5,000mAh battery pack on the Nord CE 3 Lite was respectable, it seems like the brand is opting to offer more longer battery life to its users. The Nord CE 4 Lite is expected to be powered by a larger 5,500mAh cell. Rumors have hinted that its an Oppo A3 rebrand, so its fast charging might be limited to just 33W, down from the 67W on the Nord CE 3 Lite.

New Cameras

It is unclear whether the newer mid range handset will offer a triple camera setup as well, since the leak only revealed two cameras. Although, the image sensors are getting a change as well. The Nord CE 4 Lite will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary lens. Meanwhile, the front may house a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. For those unaware, its predecessor came with a 108-megapixel triple camera setup and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

Indian launch confirmed?

Earlier this week, the yet-to-be-released smartphone was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database. It was seen carrying the CPH2619 model number. Finer details like the launch date or specs weren’t revealed in this certification, but it basically confirms that it will be available in the Indian market.

Although the brand has yet to announce anything related to this new device in an official capacity, the phone has allegedly emerged on the Bureau of Indian Standards website, hinting at an imminent launch.

As per tipster Sanju Choudhary, a new OnePlus smartphone with model number CPH2619 has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards database, which is claimed to be the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. While the certification does not reveal any specifications, the tipster has implied that the Nord CE 4 Lite will be a rebranded version of the Oppo A3, which is a China-exclusive smartphone.

Oppo A3 TENAA certification Image

As per Sanju, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite will come with many upgrades over its predecessor, with the main one being its display. The display on the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite will use an AMOLED panel instead of an LCD panel. It will measure 6.67 inches and will have an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the device is said to come with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, paired with a 5500mAh battery. It is said to feature a 50MP primary and a 2MP secondary lens on the back, paired with a 16MP front camera. If the device does turn out to be a rebrand of the Oppo A3, we can also expect it to feature 33W fast charging, 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM, and up to 256GB storage.
