OnePlus is rolling out updates for different devices including the OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus Nord N10, and OnePlus Nord CE. All three devices are receiving the September 2023 Android security patch to enhance overall security.

The OnePlus Nord N10 is receiving firmware update OxygenOS 11.0.15.BE89BA in European Union and Global markets, and firmware 11.0.15.BE86AA for North American units. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE is receiving OxygenOS 13 F.52 firmware update binding the same September 2023 security patch. OnePlus 10 Pro is getting NE2211_13.1.0.593(EX01) firmware update for the Indian variant.

It is an incremental update and may take some time to reach each unit across the respective regions. In case the user finds any error or issue, they can report it to the OnePlus OnePlus Community or if you are residing in India, then dialing *#800# on Google Dialer would allow you to submit bugs.

After comparing the vanilla variant to Realme 7 5G and Moto G 5G, we decided to compare the Note 9 Pro 5G with the other devices sold in the same price range. The latest 5G phones offered at similar prices are the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and the Realme Q2 Pro, and this is a comparison between their specifications.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G vs OnePlus Nord N10 5G vs Realme Q2 Pro

Design

If I had to judge the design of these handsets, I would say the Realme Q2 Pro is the best one. It lacks the glass back found on the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, but it has a less invasive camera module, it is lighter and it is even more compact and thinner. But with the Note 9 Pro 5G, you actually get the best build quality. Besides the glass back, the handset also offers the IP53 certification making it splash resistant and dust resistant. It has a water-repellent body and even the Gorilla Glass 5 protection for both the front glass and the rear glass.

Display

Even when it comes to the display, I would choose the Realme Q2 Pro. It is the only device of this comparison to feature a Super AMOLED display and it can show more vibrant colors, as well as very deep blacks. Further, with the Realme Q2 Pro, you get an in-display fingerprint scanner which is definitely more comfortable than the rear-mounted and side-mounted fingerprint reader you get with Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and OnePlus Nord N10 5G. The second place in the display ranking goes to the Note 9 Pro 5G featuring an IPS panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10+ certification. OnePlus Nord N10 5G has an average IPS display with 90 Hz refresh rate.

Hardware/Software

The most advanced and most appreciated hardware department is offered by the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G which is fueled by the Snapdragon 750G mobile platform paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. But its two rivals are not far away: they provide more or less the same performance with their Snapdragon 690 5G and Dimensity 800U chipset paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. All run Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

The most stunning camera is offered by the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G: you get the same 108 MP camera sensor found on the Xiaomi Mi 10, but it lacks OIS. The secondary sensors are the same on all of these devices: an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a pair of 2 MP sensor for macro and depth. But the main camera sensor changes: Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G gets the best one, followed by the OnePlus Nord N10 5G with a 64 MP camera. The Realme Q2 Pro has a lower-end 48 MP sensor, but you do not get huge differences in terms of photo quality if you compare it to the OnePlus Nord N10 5G.

Battery

The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has the biggest battery with a capacity of 4820 mAh: if you do not use the maximum refresh rate, you get a way longer battery life with this handset. But OnePlus Nord N10 5G and Realme Q2 Pro are still good battery phones with their 4300 mAh units. With Realme Q2 Pro you get the amazing 65W fast charging technology found on OPPO and Realme flagships allowing you to charge the phone a lot faster. With Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and OnePlus Nord N10 5G, you only get 33W and 30W powers, respectively.

Price

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G in China with a starting price of about $330/€272, while Realme Q2 Pro is priced at about $320/€265 in its base variant. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G actually sells for less than $320/€265 in China, but it costs a bit more in the global market. We do not see any reason to go for the OnePlus Nord N10 5G. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G offers the most advanced camera, great build quality, slightly better hardware department (with Snapdragon 750G and UFS 2.2 storage), and a bigger battery, while the advantages of the Realme Q2 Pro are mainly its Super AMOLED display and 65W fast charging. But you should not underestimate the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite as it offers a high 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10 certification improving the image quality. I would not go for the 90 Hz IPS display of the OnePlus Nord N10 5G.

Hardware/Software

Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite and Samsung Galaxy A42 5G are powered by the Snapdragon 750G mobile platform, while OnePlus Nord N10 5G is fueled by the Snapdragon 690 5G. In late October, Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus launched OnePlus Nord N100 and OnePlus Nord N10 5G in Europe. The company even confirmed that these handsets will be hitting the US. But the brand did not say anything about Singapore, the region where the latter device has been now announced.

Last week, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G was spotted on Singapore’s IMDA certification bureau. Now, the phone has officially launched in the region priced at S$449 ($333). The handset will be available at a discounted price tag of S$399 ($296) for customers pre-ordering it from the OnePlus Shopee Official Flagship Store from November 21 to 30.

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is the cheapest 5G smartphone in Singapore, unlike in Europe. The device comes with modest specs and will be only receiving a single major update to OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11.

EDITOR’S PICK: OnePlus 8T lacks DC Dimming feature

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage. On the front, the phone flaunts a 6.49-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 16MP punch-hole selfie camera.

The body of the handset is made of plastic, compared to glass and metal build on OnePlus’ flagship smartphones. The back of the phone houses an L-shaped quad-camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. The rear panel also includes a traditional capacitive fingerprint sensor.

Design

None of these devices offers a stunning design like flagships, but they are still pretty nice phones when it comes to aesthetics. The POCO X3 NFC has not the most beautiful look but it comes with a higher build quality: it features an aluminum frame and the IP53 certification making it dust resistant and waterproof. My favorite one is the Realme 7 Pro because it has a thinner and lighter design, as well as a cleaner look and a more compact body. Its body is entirely made of plastic, but the look is actually better. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is bigger, thicker, and heavier than Realme 7 Pro, but more compact than POCO X3 NFC.

Display

The king of the display here is the Realme 7 Pro for a simple reason: it has a Super AMOLED display instead of an IPS panel. So, it provides more vibrant colors and deeper blacks. Further, it has an in-display fingerprint scanner. But you should not underestimate the POCO X3 NFC despite it has an IPS panel. The POCO X3 NFC comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10 certification allowing for great image quality. Most people still consider 60 Hz AMOLED panels a better choice, but the POCO X3 NFC still offers a nice screen. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is inferior to both with its 90 Hz IPS display.

Specs & Software

If you need the highest performance, you should opt for the OnePlus Nord N10 5G. Despite it has a chipset from Snapdragon 6xx series, it is actually more powerful than the Snapdragon 732G and the Snapdragon 720G found on its rivals (we are talking about both CPU and GPU performance). Further, unlike its two opponents, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G supports 5G connectivity. The POCO X3 NFC has a slightly stronger chipset than the Realme 7 Pro, but the Realme 7 Pro comes in a variant with more RAM: up to 8 GB. All are based on Android 10, but OnePlus already confirmed that the Nord N10 5G will only get one major Android update.

Camera

On paper, the best rear camera setup belongs to the POCO X3 NFC. While it offers the same main camera as its rivals, it actually comes with better secondary sensors including a 13 MP ultrawide camera. If you need better selfies, then you should go for the Realme 7 Pro with its 32 MP front camera.

Battery

The POCO X3 NFC has a longer battery life thanks to its huge 5160 mAh battery, but the Realme 7 Pro charges a lot faster thanks to its 65W fast charging technology. And the Realme 7 Pro takes the silver medal when it comes to battery life thanks to a 4500 mAh battery and its efficient display.

Price

POCO X3 NFC is priced at €229/$271 globally, Realme 7 Pro can be found for less than €300/$355, and OnePlus Nord N10 5G starts from €349/$414. If we exclude the 5G support, OnePlus Nord N10 5G is inferior to its two rivals. Realme 7 Pro has the best display and faster charging, as well as the most interesting design, while POCO X3 NFC has a bigger battery. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is entirely made of polycarbonate with the exception of the front panel, and it has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner: definitely not the best solution.

Display

My favorite display and the best one for most of the users out there belongs to the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G since it sports a Super AMOLED panel showing more brilliant colors and deeper blacks. Further, it has an in-display fingerprint reader. But despite all these qualities, someone (especially gamers) may prefer the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite due to its high 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10 certification, no matter if it is an IPS panel. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite also offers a wider diagonal. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is inferior to both with its average IPS 90 Hz display.

Hardware/Software

On the paper, the best hardware department belongs to the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, despite it is not powered by a Snapdragon chipset. The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G is fueled by the Exynos 980 mobile platform paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and UFS 2.1 internal storage. With the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite which takes the second place, you get a Snapdragon 750G SoC paired with a max of 6 GB of RAM. You get just 6 GB of RAM with the OnePlus Nord N10 5G as well, but the chipset is the Snapdragon 690 5G. These handsets run Android 10 out of the box, but we already know that OnePlus Nord N10 5G will get just one major update.

Camera

If we talk about the rear cameras, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G is a more interesting camera phone, at least on paper. It has a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, a 5 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP dedicated macro camera. But the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G actually comes with a better front camera with its 32 MP resolution. Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite is not a great camera phone, at least if we compare it to the other handsets of this comparison. It has a pretty nice main sensor, but the camera department is not as stunning as the OnePlus Nord N10 5G.

Battery

The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite sports the biggest battery and the fastest charging technology. But in several scenarios, the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G can reach a slightly longer battery life because its components are more efficient, including its AMOLED display with standard refresh rate and smaller diagonal.

Price

Thanks to online street prices, you can find all of these devices for less than €300/$300 in the global market. While we would discard the OnePlus Nord N10 5G due to its inferior display and hardware, it is a hard fight between Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite and Samsung Galaxy A51 5G. The former offers an AMOLED display and amazing hardware, while the latter has stereo speakers, 120 Hz, and a big battery with very fast charging. Maybe I would go for the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G.

Late last month OnePlus took the wraps off its most affordable smartphones – the Nord N10 5G and Nord N100. The smartphones keep up with OnePlus’ longstanding reputation as a brand that offers high-end user experience at pocket-friendly prices. Another reputation Oneplus has built over the years is pushing timely updates to its smartphones including major updates.

The two affordable Nord pnes won’t be an exception. One Plus has confirmed that the two models will get updated to Android 11. However, the models will only get just one major Android update in their lifespan. Thus, the models won’t get updates beyond Android 11 as the phones ship with Android 10. This doesn’t mean they won’t get the regular security updates, though, as OnePlus hinted that the models will get two years of security updates. OnePlus did not mention if the updates will be monthly or quarterly.

A statement by a OnePlus spokesperson confirmed this to Android Central. “The Nord N10 5G and N100 will receive one major Android update and a total of two years of security updates. The plan for these two devices aligns with industry standards for smartphones in more affordable price ranges. As always, we will continue listening to feedback from our users and looking for ways to improve the software experience for all OnePlus devices”.

We should point out that this may come as a disappointing news considering that the phones were announced with Android 10 at a time Android 11 had started rolling out. Moreso, the OnePlus 8T which were launched after the Nord N10 5G and N100 came with OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box.

OnePlus has today officially taken the wraps off the much-anticipated budget smartphones. The two smartphones dubbed OnePlus Nord N10 and Nord N100 are the brand’s cheapest models yet, cheaper than the Nord which was released recently. The duo comes with several features but the most outstanding should be the return of the 3.5mm audio jack and the fact that they emerge as the first OnePlus models with a microSD card slot.

The OnePlus Nord N10 is ranked beneath the OnePlus Nord when you talk about the specifications. On the other hand, the Nord N100 goes even further down the ladder, emerging as the lowest specs and price OnePlus has ever adopted.

OnePlus Nord N10 & Nord N100 Pricing & Availability

OnePlus has indicated that the new Nord smartphones will be launched for sale in Europe and the UK first. The phones will then be launched in North America as well.

As for the price, the OnePlus Nord N10 will start at £329/€329 (~$429) while the N100 comes with a more pocket-friendly price tag of £179/€179 (~$233).OnePlus is yet to reveal more details about the release dates.

OnePlus Nord N100 specs

OnePlus Nord N100 is the budget model of the two. It packs a decent specs lineup which includes a 6.52-inch display with HD+ resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes in a sole 64GB storage option but there is a MicroSD slot for expanding the storage.

As for the camera setup, the Nord N100 features a triple camera setup made up of a 13MP main camera as well as a 2MP Bokeh lens and a 2MP macro sensor. There is a 13MP front camera for selfies onboard.

The Nord N100 packs a generous 5000mAh battery and features support for 18W wired fast charging. It runs on OxygenOS based on Android 10, the first time OnePlus’ custom ROM is available on a budget phone. It comes in Midnight Frost colour option and 4G support only.

OnePlus Nord N10 specs

On the other hand, the Nord N10 features a 6.49-inch screen with FullHD+ resolution and a better 90Hz refresh rate. It is fired up by a Snapdragon 690 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. The phone comes with 128GB of storage which can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card. The N10 packs a 4300mAh battery and has support for Warp Charge 30T wired charging. The phone also comes with 5G connectivity.

For photography, the Nord N10 packs a quad-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 64MP main camera teaming up with a 13MP Ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP monochrome lens. At the front is a 16MP selfie camera. The N10 comes in Midnight Ice colour option only.

The two new Nord smartphones will be available in dual-SIM variant in Europe and the UK while the North American market will only get the single SIM model. They also come with rear-mounted fingerprint sensors.

OnePlus is expected to launch its cheapest smartphones ever in a few hours from now. The specifications of these devices have leaked multiple times in the past few days. Now, ahead of their launch, we finally get to see how these phones will look.

Mukul Sharma, a popular tech influencer in India shared the design sketches of the upcoming Oneplus Nord N10 and OnePlus Nord N100 on Twitter. As expected, the designs of these smartphones confirm them to be rebranded OPPO handsets.

Anyway, it is worth noting that the OnePlus Nord N10 with 5G connectivity, thanks to Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 is yet to launch as an OPPO device but we believe it will happen in the coming days.

Now, talking about the designs, there are subtle changes between the OPPO A53 and OnePlus Nord N100. Although the camera module is the same on both the handsets, the one on the OnePlus is more curved making it oval in shape and the LED flash is circular in shape instead of rounded rectangle (oblong).

There, there’s an OnePlus branding at the bottom of the rear panel and an OnePlus logo below the capacitive fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G also has a similar design but the camera module is not as curved as on the N100 and has an additional camera.

Interestingly, both of them lack an alert slider, making them the first OnePlus smartphones to launch without one of the company’s signature features. However, they come with modern punch-hole displays like the expensive models.

October is going to be a big month for OnePlus as it has a bunch of new products launching. While we already know that the OnePlus 8T and a new pair of TWS earbuds are launching on October 14, new info says two new Nord phones, one of which is the OnePlus Nord N10, will also be arriving later this month.

The info comes from Mukul Sharma, the Indian leaker and YouTuber, and according to him, OnePlus will announce the OnePlus Nord N10 and OnePlus Nord N100 by the end of the month.

We already know of the Nord N10 which is the affordable 5G smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 690 Mobile Platform destined for North America. The spec sheet also includes a 6.49-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad rear camera setup, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

The Nord N100 is currently unknown but should also be a budget smartphone.  However, we can’t say if it will have 5G or not.

Earlier today, the official OnePlus Nord Instagram account posted another teaser with the caption “#ComingSoon”. The post, just like the one from last week, reveals no details about what is coming. Nevertheless, we believe this is a hint for the new smartphones.

More details should surface in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.
