With new security patches and fixes, OnePlus is rolling out new firmware updates for several Nord Series smartphones, including the OnePlus Nord 3, Nord N30, Nord 2, and Nord CE 2. OnePlus is rolling out a January 2024 security patch, along with fixes for system stability and battery optimization, for the OnePus Nord 3. The update also removes the background stream feature in the Smart Sidebar. Meanwhile, the Nord N30 received the December 2023 security patch. The OnePlus Nord 2 is receiving the January 2024 security patch along with some other changes, and the Nord CE 2 features the January 2024 Android security patch.

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 is receiving the firmware CPH2491_14.0.0.201 (EX01) in India. The update will soon be available in other regions. Below is the official changelog:

OnePlus Nord 2 and OnePlus Nord CE 2

OnePlus is bringing the January 2024 security patch for the OnePlus Nord 2 with the firmware version DN2101_11.F.50. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 is receiving an update with firmware IV2201_11.F.52.

OnePlus Nord N20 Update details:

The smartphone is receiving the latest security patch with firmware CPH2459_11.C.17. It is rolling out to users across North America.

OnePlus Nord N30 Update:

The incremental update via firmware version CPH2513_13.1.0.622(EX01) brings a new Security patch. It aims to enhance the system security. The update is rolling out to users across North America.

OnePlus 9 Pro Update:

OnePlus 9 Pro is receiving a new update via the firmware LE2121_13.1.0.592(EX01). It brings the November 2023 Security patch. The same update will be made available for OnePlus 9 once the Pro version receives it.

All these updates are incremental and will reach each device after a few days to a few weeks. The users can file bugs via the OnePlus Community, or the users in India can head to Google Dialer by typing *#800#.

The users can manually check for the update by heading to the System Settings.

OnePlus will soon be launching the Nord N30 model in the US market soon. This upcoming device has even been spotted on various certification website already and the latest sighting reveals info related to its software.

OnePlus Nord N30 to run on Android 13 OS based OxygenOS 13.1

Based on what we know so far, this smartphone is expected to be a rebranded version of the Nord CE 3 Lite for the western market. And now, the Nord N30 5G 2023 edition has surfaced on the Canadian REL certification website carrying the model number CPH2513. Looking at the online database, we can see that the will run on OxygenOS 13.1 out of the box. For those unaware, OxygenOS 13.1 is a proprietary custom skin from the Chinese smartphone maker and is based on the Android 13 OS platform.

Unfortunately, this is all the information revealed via this database. However, since it is believed to be the previously released Nord CE 3 Lite, we have some ideas regarding its internal specifications. The device will likely sport a tall 6.72 inch IPS LCD panel that offers Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This revealed the finer details of the new mid range device from the Chinese smartphone maker. Furthermore, these specs also implied that this model would likely be a rebrand of the Nord CE 3 Lite that is available in other markets like India. But while the specs were nearly identical, our first look at the new OnePlus Nord N30 model confirms that it is indeed a renamed Nord CE 3 Lite.

Looking at the image, we can see the Nord N30 2023 will arrive in a the same bright Lime color. It also features the dual circular modules that houses its triple camera setup. Talking about the specs of the 2023 Nord N30, the handset is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC that is paired with 8GB of RAM. On the rear, it features a triple camera setup, with the primary sensor being a 108 megapixel camera. Going by the Nord CE 3 Lite’s specs, we can expect it to also feature a 2 megapixel depth sensor and a 2 megapixel macro shooter.

Meanwhile, the front will likely house a 16 megapixel selfie camera. Other notable features include Android 13 OS out of the box and Full HD+ resolution display.
