OnePlus is set to launch the more affordable base variant of the Nord smartphone with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant in India. The OnePlus Nord comes in three variants namely 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. They are priced at Rs. 24,999 (~$340), Rs. 27,999 (~$381), and Rs. 29,999 (~$408), respectively.

The two higher variants are already on sale in India but according to a poster shared by noted tipster – Ishan Agarwal, the 6GB RAM variat will go on sale on September 21 in India. The base variant will only be available in Gray Onyx colour option. Further, depleted stocks for other variants will be replenished and made available the same day through Amazon & OnePlus official website.

The OnePlus Nord is the brand’s first mid-range model in a long while.It has received good receptions in the Indian and European markets.

To refresh our memories, the Nord features a 6.44-inch AMOLED display that produces FHD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 765G processor powers the device. The OxygenOS 10.5 based Android 10 OS runs on the device. For optics, it packs a 32-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual front-facing cameras. Its rear is fitted with an OIS ready 48-megapixel (Sony IMX586) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 5-megapixel (depth) + 2-megapixel (macro) quad-camera system. The phone is backed by a 4,115mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. It comes with support for NFC and in-display fingerprint reader.

OnePlus is finally set to officially unveil the Nord smartphone tomorrow (July 21) at an AR event. The Nord has been one of the most talked-about unreleased smartphones in the past few weeks. That is because leaks about the Nord smartphone has been hitting ferociously unending. OnePlus also helped fuel the frenzy surrounding the device with the rate at which it released teasers ( both videos and posters). The pre-order exercise for the smartphone with all its perks also helped fuel the discussions surrounding the smartphone.

Another vista will be opened up tomorrow when the company finally takes the wraps off the smartphone before the full glare of millions of fans and enthusiasts in an online event. You too can watch the event live and here is how.

The OnePlus Nord AR launch event will commence at 7 am Pacific time (10 am Eastern Time, 3 pm GMT, 4 pm CET and 7:30 pm IST on July 21.

Sadly, you can’t watch the event on YouTube or any of the streaming apps around. Instead, OnePlus will broadcast the event on its Nord Augmented Reality (AR) app.

To watch the event, you will need to download the “OnePlus Nord AR” app from the App Store for iPhone users and Google Play Store for Android users. While installing the app, grant it all three permissions it requests for. You’ll then need to set an avatar even though that isn’t compulsory. Next, you will need to move your phone around a flat surface in the room in order to complete the AR setup. Apparently, the event will take place there when the time comes.

When the setup is complete, you’ll then need to open the app at the scheduled launch time and watch the device’s launch right in your environment.

There is hardly any doubt that OnePlus Nord is the next headline-grabbing smartphone that will be available in India and Europe. The smartphone has already gone on pre-order in both regions.

Ahead of the launch, the OnePlus Nord has now appeared on GeekBench database. The model appears as OnePlus AC2001 in three different instances. The model had earlier appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website bearing the same model number. So there is no doubt this is the OnePlus Nord. All three listings confirm the presence of a Snapdragon 765G chipset onboard with a base frequency of 1.8GHz. The models all pack 12GB of RAM but we believe the Nord smartphone will have lesser RAM versions.

Before these listings, an OnePlus model had appeared on GeekBench earlier this month. The model is powered by a Snapdragon 690 chipset, fueling speculations that the company may also release a “lite” version of the Nord. There were also suggestions that the tech giant may use a different SOC for the Nord in different markets but that too isn’t likely going to happen. These latest GeekBench appearances seem to confirm that OnePlus will release a uniform model of the Nord both in India and Europe.

All speculation about the Nord will end on July 21 when the company officially unveils the model in the scheduled AR launch event.

OnePlus‘ much-anticipated affordable Nord smartphone is expected to be unveiled on July 21 in a virtual launch event. Ahead of the launch, details of the smartphone have continued to make the rounds. The latest that we came across is a store listing for the OnePlus Nord with the specs and price in tow.

The device was listed by Romanian retailer evoMAG.ro and it carries a price tag of RON 2,300 (around €475/$535). The price looks doubtful especially when we take into account the fact that the company has hinted that the price will be under $500. Also, the product image is an inaccurate render with a single central selfie camera. Latest details show that the OnePlus Nord will feature an extended punch-hole design at the top left corner which will be able to take two camera sensors. The rear design isn’t also the correct representation of the Nord which will have a quad-camera setup.

Thus, it is safe to say this is just a listing for clout and can’t be relied upon to know the price of the Nord in Europe.

As a reminder, the OnePlus Nord is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor which will usher in 5G connectivity.  The processor will be paired with 6GB of RAM and there will be 128GB of internal storage onboard. The phone will also pack a 4300mAh battery.

Just recently, popular tipster Ishan Argawal tweeted that the Nord will come with OIS. In addition, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei chipped in that the camera will be of “flagship-level”. According to Android Authority, citing an OnePlus insider, the Nord will feature a quad-camera setup at the rear aspect which will include a 48MP main sensor as against 64MP previously rumoured. Other sensors are an 8MP wide-angle lens, 5MP macro module, and a 2MP portrait lens. At the front, the selfie setup consists of a 32MP and 8MP twin camera layout.

There is hardly any doubt that the OnePlus Nord is an interesting product to watch out for.
