<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a> has just launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-pad-8/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi Pad 8</a> in India, expanding its tablet lineup in the country. It now joins another strong competitor in the segment, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-pad-go-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus Pad Go 2</a>, which is slightly more affordable while still offering competitive specifications.</p>

<p>Here is a detailed comparison to help you decide which one suits your needs better.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2-1024x640.png?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Pad 8" class="wp-image-730194" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Xiaomi-Pad-8-2.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<h3><strong>Design and Display</strong></h3>

<p>The Xiaomi Pad 8 comes with an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display, offering a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR10, ensuring a smooth and vibrant viewing experience.</p>

<p>Xiaomi has also included TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue light technology for eye comfort. The Nano Texture Display version reduces reflectivity by 70% with AG nano-texture and AR coating, making it ideal for outdoor use. The tablet has a slim 5.75mm full-metal unibody design, giving it a premium feel.</p>

<p>The OnePlus Pad Go 2 features a 12.1-inch 2.8K LCD display with a 7:5 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 900 nits of peak brightness, making it brighter than the Pad 8’s display, which is rated at 800 nits.</p>

<p>It also supports Dolby Vision for enhanced color accuracy. The design has slightly thicker bezels and a 6.83mm thickness, making it less slim but still well-built.</p>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Xiaomi Pad 8</p>

<h3><strong>Performance and Software</strong></h3>

<p>The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, an octa-core processor clocked at 3.21GHz, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.</p>

<p>This setup ensures flagship-level performance, making it a powerhouse for multitasking, gaming, and professional use.</p>

<p>It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which integrates well with Xiaomi’s ecosystem and introduces features like a PC-level browser, Workstation Mode, and HyperAI for interconnectivity.</p>

<p>The OnePlus Pad Go 2 uses the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/mediatek/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MediaTek</a> Dimensity 7300-Ultra, a capable mid-range processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM.</p>

<p>While it handles everyday tasks smoothly, it doesn’t match the raw power of the Xiaomi Pad 8.</p>

<p>The tablet runs on OxygenOS 16, which offers seamless integration with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oppo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oppo</a> devices, including screen mirroring and file sharing.</p>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Xiaomi Pad 8</p>

<h3><strong>Battery and Charging</strong></h3>

<p>The Xiaomi Pad 8 packs a 9200mAh battery with 45W fast charging, promising 9.3 hours of video playback. It also supports reverse charging, which is useful for powering accessories.</p>

<p>The OnePlus Pad Go 2 comes with a larger 10,050mAh battery, but its 33W SuperVooc charging is slower. On the plus side, it offers 60 days of standby time and extended video playback of up to 15 hours.</p>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Tie</p>

<h3><strong>Cameras and Audio</strong></h3>

<p>The Xiaomi Pad 8 includes a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It supports 4K video recording, which makes it a better option for users who need high-quality video. The tablet comes with quad speakers featuring Dolby Atmos for immersive audio.</p>

<p>The OnePlus Pad Go 2 offers an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It supports video recording up to 1080p, which limits its appeal for advanced camera use. The tablet also includes quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, delivering comparable audio performance to Xiaomi.</p>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Xiaomi Pad 8</p>

<h3><strong>Pricing and Value</strong></h3>

<p>The Xiaomi Pad 8 starts at ₹33,999 for the base 8GB+128GB variant and goes up to ₹38,999 for the 12GB+256GB Nano Texture Display option. Accessories like the Focus Pen Pro (₹5,999) and keyboard (₹4,999-₹8,999) add to the cost.</p>

<p>The OnePlus Pad Go 2 starts at ₹26,999 for the 8GB+128GB Wi-Fi model, with the 8GB+256GB 5G variant priced at ₹32,999. While more affordable, it lacks the premium features of the Xiaomi Pad 8.</p>

<p>Xiaomi offers better features for its price, but OnePlus provides affordability and 5G support in its top model.</p>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Xiaomi Pad 8</p>

<h3><strong>Which One Should You Buy?</strong></h3>

<p>If you’re looking for a powerful tablet with a better display, flagship-level performance, and advanced productivity features, the Xiaomi Pad 8 is the clear winner.</p>

<p>However, if you’re on a tighter budget and value battery life and OnePlus ecosystem integration, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is a solid alternative.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve spent the past couple of weeks using the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus">OnePlus </a>Pad Go 2 in its 8GB+256GB Wi-Fi-only variant, finished in Lavender Drift. Instead of approaching it like a specification-led gadget review, I used it the way many people would if this were their very first tablet. That distinction matters because the Pad Go 2 is not trying to compete with laptops or premium tablets. It is trying to make tablet ownership feel simple, comfortable, and worthwhile.</p>

<h2><strong>Why first-time tablet buyers often hesitate</strong></h2>

<p>People buying their first tablet usually want something larger and more relaxing than a phone but lighter and less demanding than a laptop. Many tablets miss this balance. Some feel like stretched phones with limited usefulness. Others try too hard to be productivity machines and end up feeling complicated.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-pad-go-2">OnePlus Pad Go 2</a> avoids both extremes. During everyday use, it never felt intimidating or excessive. It simply fit into my routine, whether that meant reading, watching videos, taking notes, or doing light work.</p>

<h2><strong>A display that feels natural from day one</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="769" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1024x769.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Pad Go 2 " class="wp-image-723963" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1024x769.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1536x1153.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-2048x1537.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1068x802.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1920x1441.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>OnePlus Pad Go 2 </figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The 12.1-inch screen might sound large, but the 7:5 aspect ratio makes it surprisingly approachable. Reading articles, browsing websites, and scrolling through documents feels closer to using a book or a notebook than a traditional widescreen tablet.</p>

<p>For first-time buyers, this comfort is more important than raw resolution numbers. I rarely felt the need to zoom in or rotate the screen to make content readable. Long reading sessions felt easier on the eyes, and even casual browsing felt less cramped than on a phone.</p>

<h2><strong>Media consumption that encourages longer use</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="767" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-1024x767.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Pad Got 2" class="wp-image-723973" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-768x575.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-1536x1151.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-2048x1534.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-696x521.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-1068x800.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-1920x1439.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-561x420.jpg 561w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Got-2-display_-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Pad Go 2 naturally invites usage. I often picked it up to watch a single video and ended up staying longer, whether it was a tech talk, a tutorial, or background content while working.</p>

<p>The quad-speaker setup plays a big role here. Audio output is loud, clear, and well-balanced, which means you do not need headphones to enjoy videos or online classes. For first-time tablet users, this kind of convenience makes a difference. It lowers the friction of using the device regularly.</p>

<h2><strong>Performance that stays out of the way</strong></h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="805" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-1024x805.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Pad Go 2" class="wp-image-723965" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-1024x805.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-300x236.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-768x604.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-1536x1207.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-2048x1610.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-696x547.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-1068x839.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-1920x1509.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-1-534x420.jpg 534w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>OnePlus Pad Go 2</figcaption></figure>

<p>Powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimenisty-7300">Dimensity 7300-Ultra</a> and paired with 8GB of RAM, the Pad Go 2 delivers a smooth and predictable experience. Apps open quickly, multitasking feels stable, and Open Canvas works reliably for split-screen use.</p>

<p>I used it for writing drafts, managing emails, attending video calls, and handling multiple apps at once. At no point did the tablet feel slow or frustrating. For someone moving up from a smartphone, this level of performance feels reassuring rather than overkill.</p>

<h2><strong>Battery life that builds trust</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="798" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-1024x798.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Pad Go 2" class="wp-image-723966" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-1024x798.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-300x234.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-768x598.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-1536x1197.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-2048x1596.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-696x542.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-1068x832.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-1920x1496.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display-1-2-539x420.jpg 539w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Battery life is one of the biggest reasons tablets end up unused. If a device constantly needs charging, it quickly loses its appeal. This one packs a massive 10,050mAh battery with 33W charging (comes with a 45W in-box charger in India).</p>

<p>The Pad Go 2 comfortably lasted me more than a full day with mixed usage. I could read in the morning, watch videos in the afternoon, and still have enough charge left at night. For first-time buyers, this reliability removes anxiety and makes the tablet feel dependable.</p>

<h2><strong>OxygenOS 16 feels welcoming and predictable</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-1024x768.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Pad Go 2" class="wp-image-723968" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-1920x1440.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-OxygenOS-split-window-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>OnePlus Pad Go 2</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>OxygenOS 16 on the Pad Go 2 plays a quiet but important role in making the tablet approachable. The interface is clean, consistent, and easy to understand, especially for users who have never owned a tablet before. Multitasking features like split-screen and floating windows are available without being pushed aggressively, which keeps the experience relaxed.</p>

<p>Beyond the basics, OxygenOS feels properly adapted for a larger screen. Gestures behave consistently across apps, resizing windows feels intuitive, and background apps stay active without unnecessary reloads.</p>

<p>Switching between reading, note-taking, and browsing felt smooth and uninterrupted. It is software that does not demand exploration to feel useful. Instead, it gradually reveals its strengths as usage grows.</p>

<p>The AI features are present but not intrusive. Most users will ignore many of them, and that is perfectly fine. The useful ones integrate subtly and never interrupt normal workflows, which suits first-time tablet owners who value simplicity over experimentation.</p>

<p>There is an optional stylus support for users who want to experiment with handwritten notes later, but the tablet does not rely on accessories to feel complete. Dubbed as Stylo, it includes a physical button and charges via a USB-C port, which also means it cannot magnetically snap to the tablet for wireless charging.</p>

<h2><strong>Who this tablet quietly makes sense for</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="789" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-1024x789.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Pad Go 2" class="wp-image-723972" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-1024x789.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-300x231.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-768x592.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-1536x1183.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-2048x1578.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-696x536.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-1068x823.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-1920x1479.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-tablet-545x420.jpg 545w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>OnePlus Pad Go 2</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>After living with the OnePlus Pad Go 2, its target audience became very clear. This tablet is best suited for:</p>

<p>• People buying their first tablet</p>

<p>• Users who want a larger screen without laptop-level complexity</p>

<p>• Students and casual users focused on reading, learning, and media</p>

<p>• Anyone who wants a tablet that naturally becomes part of daily life</p>

<p>It is not designed for heavy creative workloads or users looking to replace a laptop.</p>

<h2><strong>Final thoughts</strong></h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="780" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--1024x780.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Pad Go 2" class="wp-image-723964" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--1024x780.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--300x229.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--768x585.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--1536x1170.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--2048x1560.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--696x530.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--1068x814.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--1920x1463.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--551x420.jpg 551w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-display--80x60.jpg 80w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>OnePlus Pad Go 2</figcaption></figure>

<p>The OnePlus Pad Go 2 does not try to convince you that tablets are essential. Instead, it quietly shows why owning one can be enjoyable. If you have never bought a tablet before and are unsure whether it would fit into your routine, this device answers that question through everyday use rather than marketing promises.</p>

<p>For first-time tablet buyers, that understated confidence may be exactly what makes the Pad Go 2 easy to like.</p>

<p>OnePlus is finally launching one of its most budget-friendly tablets in the U.S, targeting users seeking a pure Android experience at non-flagship costs. The OnePlus Pas Go 2 is available on the company&#8217;s site for $400, with a free folio case or stylus for orders placed before year-end. It&#8217;s sports OnePlus&#8217;s signature styling in a slim aluminium chassis with narrow bezels and a spacious screen ideal for streaming, web browsing, and basic tasks.</p>

<h4><strong>Display Features</strong></h4>

<p>The display stands out as a major highlight. It features a large 12.1-inch LCD panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 900 nits peak brightness, enabling comfortable outdoor use even on sunny days, which is rare for this price tier. Though not OLED, it performs reliably for everyday tasks.</p>

<h4><strong>Storage and Hardware Specification</strong></h4>

<p>OnePlus upgraded the internals by swapping the previous Helio G99 for the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, which handles streaming, light productivity and casual gaming effectively without rivaling top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Performance. It includes 8GB RAM paired with up to 256 GB storage, expandable through a microSD slot, a rare and welcome feature for users needing extra space.</p>

<h4><strong>Battery</strong></h4>

<p>The 10,500 mAh battery significantly exceeds the 8,000 mAh unit in the prior OnePlus Pad Go, supporting over 50 hours of music playback or 15 hours of video.</p>

<h4><strong>Software and Ecosystem</strong></h4>

<p>The Pad Go 2 excels in software with OxygenOS tailored for tablets, featuring split-screen multitasking, floating windows, and superior app scaling over standard Android on bigger screens.</p>

<div class="wp-container-1 wp-block-buttons">
<div class="wp-block-button"><a class="wp-block-button__link" href="https://geni.us/11G5BaB" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Buy Now </a></div>

<p>For existing OnePlus phone owners, seamless, quick file sharing and synced notifications integrate the tablets effortlessly into their workflow.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/oneplus-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus</a> will refresh its entry-level tablet lineup on December 17th with the launch of the OnePlus Pad Go 2. Compared to its predecessor, the model is confirmed to bring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/11/27/how-will-the-oneplus-pad-go-2-be-different-from-the-original/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">stylus support and 5G connectivity.</a></p>

<p>A new Geekbench listing for the OnePlus Pad Go 2 has now shed light on the tablet&#8217;s connectivity and performance capabilities.</p>

<p>The Pad Go 2 Geekbench listing is under the model number OPD2504. It scored 1065 points in single-core and 3149 points in multi-core tests. More importantly, the chip powering the tablet is MediaTek Dimensity 7300.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="397" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Geekbench.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-717432" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Geekbench.jpg 397w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Geekbench-199x300.jpg 199w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Geekbench-278x420.jpg 278w" sizes="(max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px" /></figure></div>

<p>This not only confirms 5G connectivity but also indicates a significant performance leap over the original Pad Go. The latter uses MediaTek’s Helio G99 processor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The benchmark further reveals the device will carry 8GB of RAM and run on the Android 16 operating system.</p>

<h2><strong>Here’s what OnePlus revealed</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-What-to-expect.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-717050" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-What-to-expect.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-What-to-expect-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-What-to-expect-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-What-to-expect-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-What-to-expect-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The company seems to be quietly fixing these complaints with the Pad Go 2 while giving the tablet a more modern finish. So let’s break down how the OnePlus Pad Go 2 will differ from the original Pad Go.</p>

<h3><strong>A noticeably different design and new colors</strong></h3>

<p>The first big difference between the two tablets is simply how they look.</p>

<p>The original OnePlus Pad Go came only in Twin Mint, a soft green tone that gives off a calm, pastel-style vibe. The overall design was functional, with an 11.35-inch display, rounded corners, and a flat back holding a single camera in the middle.</p>

<p>The Pad Go 2 switches things up. This time we’re getting two color options: Shadow Black and Lavender Drift.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Pad Go 2 is also built to look cleaner and more modern. The single rear camera sits as a minimal bump on the top left, and the overall form factor gives it an iPad kind of vibe. iPad mini to be exact and even the Lavender Drift color matches with iPad’s Purple shade.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The original Pad Go has dimensions of 255.1 x 188 x 6.9 mm and 532g. We don’t yet have the exact numbers for the Pad Go 2, but based on its target audience and design hints, it’s likely to stay in that same lightweight category.</p>

<h3><strong>Stylus support: finally added</strong></h3>

<p>If there was one big miss on the first Pad Go, it was the lack of stylus support. A budget tablet with a big display but <em>no way</em> to use a pen felt like a missed opportunity. Even casual users expect at least some level of writing or drawing capability these days.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="615" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Stylus.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-717051" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Stylus.jpg 615w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Stylus-300x293.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-Stylus-431x420.jpg 431w" sizes="(max-width: 615px) 100vw, 615px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Pad Go 2 fixes that. OnePlus is preparing Pad Go 2 Stylo support, allowing users to write, sketch, annotate PDFs, or just doodle in class. This addition alone can make the tablet more useful for students and office users.</p>

<p>Stylus support will also help the Pad Go 2 compete with budget tablets from Samsung and Xiaomi, which already offer pen features at similar prices.&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>Connectivity</strong></h3>

<p>Another major upgrade is wireless connectivity.</p>

<p>The original OnePlus Pad Go was limited to 4G, and even that was only available in the cellular model. If you needed faster mobile data or better network flexibility, you were basically out of luck.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A lot of budget tablets still skip 5G to cut costs, but it’s becoming more noticeable as everyday apps and work tools increasingly rely on fast, stable internet.</p>

<p>The Pad Go 2 doesn’t fully jump into 5G across the lineup, but it does introduce one 5G-capable variant: the Shadow Black model.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Wi-Fi details haven’t been fully shared yet, but the original tablet supported dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX HD. The Pad Go 2 is expected to stay at least at that level, if not offer a mild upgrade in Bluetooth support.</p>

<h3><strong>Performance and software</strong></h3>

<p>The original Pad Go used the MediaTek Helio G99, a 6nm chip. It can handle streaming, web browsing, note-taking, and lightweight games just fine. Paired with 8GB RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, the tablet offers stable everyday performance.</p>

<p>OnePlus hasn’t revealed the chipset for the Pad Go 2 yet, but we are not expecting any major upgrade here. Since the tablet is for study and light work users, OnePlus may continue using a mid-range MediaTek chip.</p>

<p>Software-wise, the Pad Go 2 will ship with Android 15 (if not Android 16) based OxygenOS.&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>Display and media</strong></h3>

<p>The Pad Go’s display was an 11.35-inch IPS LCD, with a 90Hz refresh rate, 400 nits brightness, and sharpness at 1720 x 2408 pixels. The quad-speaker setup also helped it feel more premium during movies or classes.</p>

<p>There’s no direct confirmation about display changes on the Pad Go 2, so for now, assume a similar setup. And honestly, that’s okay. The screen was already one of the tablet’s better components. A brightness bump would be welcome, but we’ll know more after the launch.</p>

<h3><strong>Battery and charging</strong></h3>

<p>The original Pad Go used an 8000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. It wasn’t the fastest charger around, but the battery comfortably lasted a full day of light use.</p>

<p>OnePlus tends to repeat battery tech in updates unless it’s a major redesign, so the Pad Go 2 will likely carry something similar.</p>

<h3><strong>So… how different will the OnePlus Pad Go 2 be, really?</strong></h3>

<p>In some ways, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is an upgrade. It simply fixes the biggest issues of the first model: lack of stylus support, lack of 5G, and limited design options.</p>

<p>If you liked the size, battery life, and simplicity of the Pad Go but wished it were a bit more flexible, the Pad Go 2 might be exactly what that tablet should have been the first time. It launches globally and in India on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/11/25/oneplus-15r-pad-go-2-watch-lite-launch-date-confirmed-december-17-india/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">December 17th</a>.</p>

So here are all the details.</p>

<h2>New OnePlus Pad &amp; OnePlus Buds Ace 2 Reservations Live</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-1-576x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Buds Ace 2" class="wp-image-664089" /><figcaption>OnePlus Pad Go 2</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Chinese brand&#8217;s new truly wireless earbuds and the tablet are set to be unveiled alongside the Ace 5 series. OnePlus shared teasers of these two gadgets confirming their design and color variants. The Buds Ace 2 has a stem design with silicon tips and arrives in a dual tone color with a gray body and charging case and green housing in the inside. On the other hand, the new OnePlus Pad has a green color option with a dark gray or black colored stylus. </p>

<p>Those interested can head to the brand&#8217;s official website in China to reserve the OnePlyus tablet by paying a sum of just 1 Yuan. Reservations bring special benefits like a free OnePlus Smart Stylus worth 399 yuan, 68 yuan BiliBili VIP card, and a 330 Yuan maximum subsidy. The new Buds Ace 2 is a pair of affordable earbuds, while the new OnePlus Pad is likely a rebranded version of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-pad-3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oppo Pad 3</a>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/OnePlus-Pad-Go-2-2-576x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="OnePlus Buds Ace 2" class="wp-image-664090" /><figcaption>OnePlus Buds Ace 2</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>In an earlier report, OnePlus was rumoured to launch a new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/07/oneplus-new-mid-range-tablet-rebranded-oppo-pad-3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">mid-range tablet that is a rebadged Oppo Pad 3</a> model. So this is likely the very same model in our earlier report. Based on what we know so far, the upcoming OnePlus Pad Go 2 might sport an 11.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a 2.8K resolution panel and a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is expected to be equipped with the Dimensity 8350 SoC. A massive 9,520mAh battery pack powers this device, which support 67W wired fast charging. </p>
