OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 14.0.0.806 update for its Pad Go tablet in India. This update, which includes a variety of improvements and bug fixes, is being released gradually to ensure a smooth deployment to all eligible devices. Earlier today, Infinix unveiled a new tablet called the Infinix XPad. Although the brand has not officially revealed the price of this tablet, its specifications indicate that it could land in the sub-$200 range. This will land it smack dab in the middle of tablets like the Redmi Pad SE and the OnePlus Pad Go. In this article, we will discuss how the Infinix XPad compares to the OnePlus Pad Go.

Design & display

Design-wise, there are some similarities between the two tablets. They both come with a boxy design with flat edges and feature a metal unibody design. The Infinix tablet has its camera island tucked away in the top corner, while the OnePlus Pad comes with a more centered rear camera.

Up-front, the Pad Go offers a slightly larger 11.35-inch LCD display, while the XPad has an 11-inch LCD screen. Both these displays have large bezels around them, however, their resolutions are a different story. The Infinix tablet offers a 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate of 206 ppi pixel density, while the OnePlus tablet has a higher 2408 x 1720 pixels resolution, with a 90Hz refresh rate and 260 ppi pixel density. Performance

Since both the Infinix XPad and the OnePlus Pad Go use the MediaTek Helio G99, it would be easy to assume that they both offer similar performance. However, that is not the case since the OnePlus Pad Go uses UFS 2.2 storage, whereas the XPad uses eMMC storage. Due to this difference, the OnePlus Pad Go will be faster and smoother when opening apps, multitasking, gaming, and processing captured photos and videos.

However, the Infinix XPad stands out with its primary camera’s ability to record in 1440p, in addition to the 1080p at 30 FPS video recording available on the OnePlus Pad Go. In terms of audio, both devices offer a stereo setup with four speakers each.

Battery & fast charging

In the battery and fast charging department, OnePlus has a significant advantage as it ships the Pad Go with a large 8000mAh battery paired with 33W fast charging. On the other hand, the Infinix XPad comes with a 7000mAh battery supported by 18W fast charging. Infinix claims to refill 50% of the battery with 40 minutes of charging, while the OnePlus Pad Go generally takes about 100 minutes to go from 0-100%.

Verdict

In this comparison, the OnePlus Pad Go emerges as the better tablet across all key areas, boasting a higher-resolution display, superior performance due to faster storage, and a larger battery with quicker charging capabilities. However, Infinix has not yet disclosed the tablet’s price. If priced competitively, it could offer strong value, as it meets many criteria that make it an appealing option in the budget tablet segment.

After a series of leaks and rumors, OnePlus has finally launched the Pad Go in India today. It is a watered-down version of the original OnePlus Pad, which was launched earlier this year. Here is how much the new Pad Go will cost, along with its other key specs.

OnePlus Pad Go Design and Display

The Pad Go looks similar to the regular OnePlus Pad, with a flat-edge design and a unique Oreo-style camera cutout in the middle of the back panel. It comes in a two-tone Twin Mint color finish.

On the front, there is an 11.35-inch IPS LCD display with a 2.4K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is also TUV Rheinland certified for low blue light and supports DC dimming, both of which make it easier on the eyes. 

Additionally, there is a Bedtime Mode that can reduce the amount of brain-stimulating light emitted by the device in the hours before bedtime, helping you fall asleep more easily.

Like the original OnePlus Pad, the Pad Go has a 7:5 aspect ratio screen, which OnePlus claims provides more screen space for books, games, and web pages. Interestingly, the device also has 7.5mm bezels all around the display, which contributes to an 86.4% screen-to-body ratio.

Specifications

As for the performance, the Pad Go has a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of expandable storage. It runs on OxygenOS 13.2 based on Android 13 and has a 8000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

Likewise, the camera hardware includes 8MP cameras on front and rear. Both cameras can record 1080p/30fps videos, but the rear camera also has EIS stabilization.

The Pad Go supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB-C port. It has 4G network connectivity, but no stylus support. 

There are also a few neat software tricks exclusive to OnePlus smartphone users. OnePlus phone users can seamlessly connect to the Pad Go when the two devices are near each other and logged into the same OnePlus account.

Similarly, with Screen Mirroring enabled on the Pad Go, you can control your phone on a larger screen in a floating window on the tablet. You can also drag and drop photos and other files between the two devices, and receive calls and notifications directly on the Pad Go.

The Pad Go can also share clipboard content and the photo gallery with OnePlus and Oppo phones, so you can view and edit them on a bigger screen.

As per the OnePlus Pad Go microsite, the tablet will feature 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It remains to be seen if the brand will announce more configurations of the device. The upcoming tablet will come with versatile LTE connectivity and 5G cellular data sharing for faster internet on the go. This also suggests that the device will be offered in a Wi-Fi-only option. Another teaser reveals that the OnePlus Pad Go will feature a TUV-certified display with low blue light technology and intelligent brightness to reduce eye strain.  

As per previous teasers, the OnePlus Pad Go is confirmed to feature an 11.35-inch display bearing a screen resolution of 2.4K pixels and a 7:5 aspect ratio. It has a dual-tone finish back panel design with a circular camera module. The tablet is confirmed to be equipped with quad speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos. It will be available for purchase from Amazon, Flipkart, and the brand’s official website. 

As per a leak, the OnePlus Pad Go will reportedly be powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor. It is expected to be backed by an 8,000mAh battery unit. The tablet is tipped to feature 8MP front and rear cameras.

The OnePlus Pad Go launch is right around the corner. But prior to the official release, the company shared a new teaser for this upcoming tablet. This teaser shares a feature that will be making its way to the Pad Go model, which will make it eye-friendly for the user.

The Chinese smartphone maker shared the teaser via their official X handle (formerly Twitter). Looking at the image poster, OnePlus has confirmed that the Pad Go will feature TUV Rheinland certification, which basically means that it supports low blue light technology. Lower blue light enables better protection of the users’ eyes. Based on what we know so far, the OnePlus Pad Go sports a tall 11.35-inch display, which features a 2.4K resolution and an aspect ratio of 7:5.

Furthermore, the new tablet will be equipped with a quad speaker setup, which features Dolby Atmos support. The pricing of the OnePlys Pad Go is set to be announced on 6th October 2023. The Go also reveals that the new tablet is likely a more affordable tablet compared to the OnePlus Pad model. Earlier this week, a leak revealed that the Pad Go might be powered by a massive 8,000mAh battery pack. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC.

This chipset could be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Other notable features include an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, an 8-megapixel selfie shooter, and Android 13 OS based OyxgenOS 13.2 custom skin out of the box.

OnePlus Pad Go will be a multimedia powerhouse?

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Pad Go will feature a quad speaker setup which will be supported by Dolby Atmos audio. As per the company, the device will offer a “cinematic sound experience”. Paired with an 11.35-inch display with a 2.4K resolution and a 7:5 aspect ratio, the OnePlus Pad Go might actually offer a solid multimedia experience.

So far, the details about the tablet are limited. OnePlus has generously released the images of the device, revealing its dual-tone design. It retains the same design as the OG OnePlus Pad with curved edges, a centrally-placed camera module, and sizeable bezels on all sides of the display. The tablet is confirmed to arrive in Twin Mint color.

We reviewed the original OnePlus Pad and found it to be good for content consumption. With an 11.61-inch LCD screen sporting a resolution of 2800 x 2000 pixels and 144Hz refresh rate, the tablet offers good visuals. The Dimensity 9000 chipset paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 makes sure the device runs without hiccups. However, we noted in our review the OnePlus Pad is limited by Android OS.

The OnePlus Pad Go is supposed to be a toned-down version of the OnePlus Pad so you might see a less-powerful processor and probably a smaller battery. The software limitations will continue to be there until something is done on a broader scale.

The OnePlus Pad Go is scheduled to be officially unveiled in India on Oct. 6. In addition to being offered on OnePlus India’s website, the tablet will also be available for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart in India. There are speculations that the same tablet might be called the Oppo Pad Air 2 when it’s released in the Chinese market. Leading up to the launch, OnePlus is gradually disclosing important specifications for the Pad Go. Meanwhile, a tipster named Mukul Sharma has shared some previously undisclosed details about the tablet.

OnePlus Pad Go specifications (rumoured)

OnePlus has revealed that the OnePlus Pad Go will arrive with an 11.35-inch LCD display that offers a 2.4K resolution and a 7:5 aspect ratio. For audio, the device will come equipped with Dolby Atmos-powered quad speakers.

Sharma revealed that the OnePlus Pad Go will come equipped with a MediaTek processor and will have support for 4G LTE connectivity. Hence, it appears that the company may offer the device in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + cellular versions.

The OnePlus Pad Go will be equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage. It will have a microSD card slot for more storage. The tablet will run on ColorOS 13.2-based Android 13. Despite having a slightly larger screen than the OnePlus Pad, the Pad Go will be lighter, weighing in at 523g as opposed to the OnePlus Pad’s 552g.

In related news, OnePlus is also gearing up to launch the OnePlus Fold in multiple markets in October. As per a recent leak, OnePlus’ first foldable phone will be unveiled on Oct. 19. Some of the highlights of the OnePlus Open include a 2K foldable display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 50-megapixel triple camera unit including a periscope zoom lens, and a 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

The company confirms the presence of a 2.4K display resolution for a better viewing experience. In a recent interview, OnePlus President and COO, Kinder Liu also shed some light on the device’s display specifications. He confirmed a 7:5 aspect ratio panel which is quite similar to the OnePlus Pad.

There are sparse details about the technical details of the OnePlus Pad Go, but it is confirmed to be affordable and will budge competition in the mid-range segment.

OnePlus Pad Go Specifications and Features (Expected)

OnePlus Pad Go is expected to launch in a “Twin Mint” color finish which offers both matte and glossy finish.

The possibility for the 3.5mm jack is quite low; Meanwhile, it will ship with Android 13-based OxygenOS 13. OnePlus Pad Go will offer some exciting features that will enhance the sync between your OnePlus phone and tablet. The users would be able to sync clipboard content, and share files easily, and will offer the ability to use hotspots directly from the tablet. OnePlus is reportedly working on its second tablet, dubbed the OnePlus Pad Go. Earlier this year, the brand announced the Dimensity 9000-powered OnePlus Pad with a price tag of Rs 36,999. The landing page for the Pad Go is now live on Flipkart. The listing has confirmed that the tablet will be unveiled in October.

The OnePlus Pad Go’s microsite, available on the Flipkart app, has confirmed its design. It also confirms that the company will continue to reveal the key features of the tablet until Oct. 4. Hence, it appears that the tablet will go official in the first week of October.

The official render of the device shows that its design will be similar to the OnePlus Pad tablet. The rear shell of the device sports a dual-tone design, a single camera, and the OnePlus logo. While the OnePlus Pad is a high-end device, the Pad Go is said to be an affordable offering.

OnePlus President and COO, Kinder Liu, recently revealed that the OnePlus Pad Go’s display will support a 2K resolution and a 7:5 aspect ratio. It is expected to come preloaded with OxygenOS 13-based Android 13. The tablet is expected to come with a Content Sync feature for easy clipboard and file sharing between OnePlus smartphones and the tablet. The upcoming affordable tablet is not going to compensate for the display as it will bundle a 2K panel while having a 7:5 aspect ratio which is quite similar to the OnePlus Pad. The elder sibling bundles an 11.6-inch display and offers 2800 x 2000 pixels resolution with 296ppi pixel density.

The upcoming “mid-tier entertainment tablet” will surely offer better display quality than the rest competition in the same segment. Further, the display will be eye-care-ready and will house support for Dolby Atmos for better audio.

On the software front, the OnePlus Pad Go will house a Content Sync feature that allows the Oneplus users to easily sync clipboard content, and share files with gestures from smartphones to the tablet. Further, there will be a shared hotspot, that facilitates data sharing between phones and tablets. Further, there will be an ability to mirror screens, sync notifications, and manage calls. OnePlus aims to build more features to improve cross-device integration among its tablets and smartphones.

The affordable variant of the OnePlus Pad launched in India is not so far, but the actual date is yet to be unveiled. The image teaser reveals some design details about the upcoming tablet with the caption “What’s work without a little play” and “All Play, All Day.” We expect a large battery and some exciting gaming performance from the tablet. It could even come with a dedicated cooling system onboard. The outline flaunts the rear design with a single-rear camera and OnePlus branding.

Earlier we reported about the new OnePlus tablet which is in the works. As per leaks, it could carry model numbers OPD2304 and OPD2305 depending upon the WiFi only and Cellular variants. It was reported to launch early next year, but considering the teasers via the OnePlus India handle, we expect it to launch soon.

Additionally, the upcoming tablet was also spotted on the official Chinese website of OnePlus and is even BIS certified.

It houses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It is further complimented with a 9510 mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC charging.

We expect the OnePlus Pad Go to compensate for some specifications and hardware details in comparison with the OnePlus Pad.

Known tipster Yogesh Brar the Pad Go and new earbuds are set to launch globally in January 2024. This release time frame puts it in line with the launch of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 11 launched back in January 2023 in China, but the OnePlus 12 series is rumored to release sometime around January or February 2023.

The upcoming tablet model was also spotted on the brand’s official Chinese website and even BIS certification in India. This confirms that the company is working on such a tablet. A couple of months ago, OnePlus launched the OnePlus Pad as its first-ever tablet. A new report, courtesy of Android Authority, reveals the existence of the company’s second tablet, dubbed the OnePlus Pad Go.

OnePlus Pad Go is in works

As per the report, tipster @1NormalUsername revealed that a OnePlus tablet with model number OPD2304 is in the works. The tipster shared its existence by adding a post on the OnePlus forums. However, the post was soon deleted. Another proof that hints at its existence is the appearance of the same device in the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

The above-shown BIS listing reveals that the OP2305 model number belongs to the same tablet, the OnePlus Pad Go. The OPD2304 and OPD2305 seem to be two variants of the device, which could be for the Wi-Fi and cellular models. The BIS listing is a good hint that the tablet could be released in India.

On a side note, China’s radio certification platform approved an Oppo tablet with the model number OPD2301 in July. This tablet is said to be the Oppo Pad Air 2, which may debut with the Find N3 this month in China. There is a possibility that the OnePlus Pad Go could be the global version of the Pad Air 2, which may remain exclusive to the Chinese market.

At present, there is no information available about the specifications of the OnePlus Pad Go. However, the moniker indicates that it will be less powerful than the Dimensity 9000-powered OnePlus Pad. It comes with an 11.61-inch IPS LCD with a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 9000 chip, up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, a 9,510mAh battery with 67W fast charging, a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, and OxygenOS 13.1-based Android 13.
