OnePlus launched the OnePlus Watch as its first smartwatch at the OnePlus 9 series launch event in late March. The wearable received poor reviews due to issues and missing features. The brand is now trying to fix some of those with the first-ever firmware update.

After releasing the new Open Beta and stable updates for its flagship smartphones, OnePlus is now rolling out the first firmware update for the OnePlus Watch. This update comes with firmware version B.40.

According to the official changelog, the latest update brings improvements for GPS performance, activity tracking (walking, running), and raise-to-wake function. It is also said to come with optimizations for heart rate monitoring and notification syncing algorithm.

Lastly, the new update also fixes some known bugs, enables notification app icons for the most frequently used apps, and improves system stability.

In the same OnePlus Community post, the company also reveals some of the upcoming features for the OnePlus Watch. These features include AOD, camera shutter control, 12-hour time, four languages, 110+ workout modes, and an AI watch face.

• Add 12-hour time format
• Add 4 languages: German, Italian, Spanish, and Polish

That said, the first firmware update for the OnePlus Watch is only live in the US and Canada for now. It will be available in more regions in the coming days.
