With the OnePlus 8T launch being just one day ahead, the company has announced the smartphone’s Pop Up Event for the device that will take place in its virtual reality platform, OnePlus World, which it had previously unveiled.

For those unaware, OnePlus World is a VR platform from the smartphone maker and is designed as an interactive experience for its users. The Chinese brand will likely add other inclusions and events in this platform and is now even bringing the OnePlus 8T Pop Up event to the digital 3D realm. This event is said to begin starting from 14th October 2020 at 8:20 pm IST (Indian Standard Time).

The company is also promising to offer a “unique engagement experience for the community including a virtual unboxing of the pop up bundle, a virtual experience of the device in AR and purchase.” For those interested, you can get the pop up bundle through the OnePlus World platform by going to the Ultra Store and clicking on ‘Get OnePlus Pop-Up Box’ and then on ‘Buy Now.’

The OnePlus 8T 5G launch event will be held on October 14, 7:30 pm IST globally. It is the latest flagship from the company and arrives as the late premium device launch the company typically announced later in the year. The handset is expected to feature top notch specs like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC that will power its 120Hz refresh rate display. So stay tuned for more updates.

OnePlus has just teased what appeared to be a new VR platform. The company shared another short video teaser trailer through its official Twitter handle that carried OnePlus World branding, which is going to be launched today (1st October 2020).

At the moment, there are numerous rumors regarding what the OnePlus World actually is. It is hinted at being the company’s upcoming smartwatch, while other reports have claimed that it could possibly be a new VR platform from the company. The Chinese brand is known to dabble in VR quite a bit, so it won’t arrive as a complete surprise if they do launch it. Another hint towards its nature is the slogan of “Break the loop. Change your world,” which is further indicative of a VR based launch.

Many initially linked this to the OnePlus Watch that has recently been spotted on various certification listings, however, a tweet from the OnePlus USA revealed a bit more information, as per a Gadgets360 report. In the post, the regional branch shared this message: “Get ready! We built our own OnePlus World and can’t wait to share it with you. Check it out on October 1.” This tweet even arrives with a promotional image rather than a video teaser that depicted what appeared to be a shared online space.

OnePlus World might just be a VR world created just for the launch event on October 14. Although, it also appears to suggest that the platform might be a global store that lets customers from across the world to purchase the company’s products. Unfortunately, finer details are still unknown and we will have to wait for the event to drop soon. So stay tuned.

The OnePlus 8T is set for an October 14 launch. OnePlus has confirmed that there will be no OnePlus 8 Pro. However, there are reports a number of other products will be launching alongside the 8T. Yesterday, a teaser from the official OnePlus Nord Instagram account hinted at the launch of a new Nord smartphone. Today, OnePlus has posted a teaser for the announcement of what it calls OnePlus World on Thursday, October 1.

The teaser was posted on Twitter with a caption that read “Counting down the hours to the #OnePlusWorld launch.”. The attached image has 9 vertical columns and a text that says “Break the loop, Change your world”.

There are lots of guesses flying around as to what OnePlus is going to announce. There are speculations it is the OnePlus Watch which was certified by the Singapore IMDA last month. Others say it is for a global store. However, the OnePlus USA account may have provided more details.

As seen in the tweet above, it appears OnePlus has created a sort of virtual space for its fans. The image shows AR avatars working towards a destination. Our wild guess is this may be a sort of VR platform OnePlus intends to use for the launch of the OnePlus 8T next month.
