Samsung Galaxy S23 series receives One UI 6 beta 4 update with October security patch

According to a recent report, Samsung has started rolling out One UI 6.0 Beta 4 for the Galaxy S23 series. For those unaware, the company has recently released this Android 14-based beta 3 for Galaxy S23 series owners, which was later released for other series. Let’s go ahead and take a look at what this new update has to offer.

One UI 6.0 Beta 4 changelog

Fixed the onboarding failure when retrying login after initializing Samsung Pass and logging out of the Samsung account.
Fixed the problem that voice recognition is not possible when you say “answer the phone” while receiving a call
Fixed the Google Assistant execution problem when swiping up in the gesture mode of the navigation bar
Many other improvements

The update will be available with a build version ending in ZWIC, having a size of around 1GB. The patch will include the latest October security update. To download the new beta, users can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. It is worth noting that the latest patch arrives with a number of known issues. The list of these known issues is provided below.

Infinite reboot occurs when entering repair mode
Kids app cannot be installed after updating from One UI 5.0 to One UI 6.0. It will be installed in mid-September as a separate app (public open at the end of September)

Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra finally getting OneUI 6.0 Beta update

Samsung is bringing much much-awaited OneUI 6.0 Beta program for the Galaxy S21 series. The program is now live in South Korea and users in other countries can expect it soon. In order to join the program, the user must use the Samsung Members app and look for the banner as shown below.

The Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra owners can enjoy the latest OneUI 6.0 beta which brings some exciting new features. All the unlocked and carrier-locked units with KT, LGU, and SKT in South Korea can participate in the program

The update weighs 2.5GB in size and is available for the participant. Below are the steps to participate in the OneUI 6.0 beta program:

Steps to Install OneUI 6.0 on Galaxy S21

The user must install and sign in to the Samsung Members app.
Upon Signing in, the user should see a banner with OneUI 6.0 on the App’s home.
Follow the instructions, and register for the update follow the steps.
Once registered, the users can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software Update and then Tap Download and Install.

The smartphone will restart upon the installation of OneUI 6.0 Beta.

Samsung is expected to bring the same update for the Galaxy S21 series in other countries like China, Germany, the UK, Poland, and the US soon.

OneUI 6.0 Beta Features

There are plenty of improvements and new features that are part of the OneUI 6.0 Beta. It has fully improved the Quick Panel with a new Button layout, new gestures, and much more. It also brings a better brightness control feature and the new Dynamic Lock Screen amalgamated new features. There’s a new default font to give a modern and elegant look. A new Notification management system is present which even allows to sorting of notifications with time.

The OneUI 6.0 Beta program is already live for the Galaxy S23 Series, Galaxy S22 Series, Galaxy A54 5G, and Galaxy A34 5G. We expect the program to expand to more devices across different countries.

Samsung pushes OneUI 6.0 Beta 3 hotfix for Galaxy S23 series

Previously, we reported that Samsung started rolling out One UI 6 Beta 3 in the US, Germany, and India. The Galaxy S23 series was one of the eligible devices that received this beta 3. Now, according to a recent report, the company has started releasing hotfixes for beta 3.

The latest One UI 6 Beta 3 update for the Galaxy S23 series is a hotfix. As we all are aware, One UI 6 is currently in its testing phase, and it arrived with some known issues. However, after observing and receiving constant feedback from the beta-testing community, the company is trying to fix some of these issues.

This minor hotfix comes with the build version ending in ZWIB with a size of around 360MB, and it is currently available in Germany and South Korea. With time, we expect the company to release these hotfixes for a broader audience and other regions.

Furthermore, the patch brings a few bug fixes and UI improvements to make the device more stable and provide better performance. Those who live in Germany or South Korea and have opted for the One UI 6 Beta should be able to receive this new hotfix on eligible devices automatically. OneUI 6 Beta Update arrives for Samsung Galaxy S22

After a slight delay, the OneUI 6.0 Beta for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series is finally here. The Beta program is now live in South Korea and may soon commence in other countries like the United States, India, and Germany anytime. The users can head over to the Samsung Community App to check the announcement thread and participate in the program. The Korean giant took to the Samsung Community to announce the OneUI 6.0 Beta for the smartphone.

The update is out with the firmware versions S908NKSU3ZWIA / S908NOKR3ZWIA / S908NKSU3DWI8 for respective devices. It weighs around 3GB in size. It also bundles the latest September 22023 Security patch. OneUI 6.0 Beta program is live in South Korea for Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. In the coming weeks, we expect the program to go live in other countries.

Steps to Install OneUI 6.0 Beta on Galaxy S22

First, the user should open the Samsung Members app.
Now, Sign in with a Samsung account.
You will see a OneUI 6.0 Beta Banner on the App’s Home page.
Upon registration, you will see a new update by heading to Settings > Software Update and then Tap Download and Install.

Galaxy A34 gets the OneUI 6.0 Beta program

As always, Samsung is once again leading on the front to roll out the OneUI 6.0 update for flagship as well as mid-range smartphones. The program is already live for the Galaxy S23 Series, and the Galaxy A54. Interestingly, the beta program is now live for mid-range smartphones ahead of Galaxy S22.

Samsung Galaxy A34 is receiving a beta firmware version A346BXXU4ZWI1 update using 2GB in size. It is rolling out for the users who have opted for the OneUI 6.0 beta program. We expect a broader rollout across more countries like China, Germany, India, Poland, and South Korea in the coming few days.

The users who are interested in participating in the Galaxy A34 beta test should head over to the Samsung Members App on their smartphones. Upon signing in, the user should head over to the app’s home page and tap on the OneUI 6.0 Beta Program banner. Once registered, the device will receive the OneUI 6.0 Beta update by heading to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

The user should be aware of the OneUI 6.0 Beta issues and requirements. It is not recommended for users who have the same device as their daily driver.

OneUI 6.0 Features

The new skin based on Android 14 brings several new changes including the full overhaul of the Quick Panel that houses a new button layout, dedicated Bluetooth and WiFi buttons, and the replacement of some buttons in the panel for better accessibility. There’s an addition of instant access to Quick Panel for a quick expanded view of the whole panel.

A new Lock Screen feature that allows the users to reposition the watch, and there are some other changes too. You will find simplified icon labels on the home screen along with shorter names of some Samsung apps to make the names shorter.

A new default font is present with OneUI 6 that offers a modern and elegant look. Other changes include an improved notification layout and the ability to sort notifications with time.

Enjoy Bixby in your Own Voice

In a significant development for Samsung Bixby, the Korean giant adds the ability to use your own voice for Bixby. The feature seems limited to OneUI 5.1.1 and OneUI 6.0 Beta. The users are required to install the Bixby Voice Customization App and Bixby Voice Creator app on their devices to avail of the new feature. If the user tries to install the Bixby Voice Creator app initially, then they will get “Not compatible with this device” error. The app is not available in the Galaxy Store for devices running OneUI 5.1.

How to use Custom Voice for Bixby?

It is a great enhancement for Bixby, that lets the users easily set the Custom Voice. To get the feature head to Bixby > Settings > Language and Voice Style Menu > Create Custom Voice. The user has to record 10 sentences after pressing the Start button. It may take some time, but once it’s complete, give it a name, and you will hear your voice. There’s also an option to train the Bixby in the background if the user doesn’t want to spend much time.

Before using your voice, the user can test different voice samples of your own voice. This can be done from the same menu of the Language and Voice style menu in Bixby settings. Check different voice samples by tapping on the name and selecting it by tapping on the check box.

Bixby Voice Creator App allows users to create unlimited custom voices. However, your custom voice may not work everywhere, it is created especially for text calls, and text-to-speech features while responding with weather forecast information, time information, and other general queries.

We have tried to get the feature on Galaxy S22 running OneUI 5.1, but to no success. However, we have to wait for the support on old devices. The feature is flawlessly working on OneUI 5.1.1 and OneUI 6.0 Beta running devices.
