<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung </a>is finally rolling out the beta for its upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-6-0/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">One UI 6 </a>for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-s23-series/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S23 series</a>. The latest beta brings <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-14/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android 14</a> to the 2023 flagship smartphones. This beta offers various changes like new visual design and more. So here are all the details.</p>

<h2>How to get One UI 6 Beta on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series</h2>

<p>In a press release, the South Korean tech giant officially announced the One UI 6 beta program for the Galaxy S23 lineup. So Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users can try out the next-gen Android with an early One UI 6 build. But keep in mind that the beta isn&#8217;t available for everyone at the moment. Only users in the United States, South Korea, and Germany can take part in the beta for now.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="904" height="563" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-Galaxy-S23-One-UI-6-Beta.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy S23 One UI 6 Beta" class="wp-image-557299" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-Galaxy-S23-One-UI-6-Beta.jpg 904w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-Galaxy-S23-One-UI-6-Beta-300x187.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-Galaxy-S23-One-UI-6-Beta-768x478.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-Galaxy-S23-One-UI-6-Beta-696x433.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-Galaxy-S23-One-UI-6-Beta-674x420.jpg 674w" sizes="(max-width: 904px) 100vw, 904px" /></figure></div>

<p>Furthermore, availability for other regions like Asian markets has yet to be announced. For those interested in using their Galaxy S23 devices with Android 14, simply head to the Samsung Members app. If you live in any of the three eligible countries, the app will showcase a banner that invites you to try out the new latest beta release. Although, it is worth noting that the One UI 6 beta will not be as polished as the final release. So you should expect to see some crashes or stability issues.</p>

<h2>One UI 6: New Android 14 Features</h2>

<p>Samsung&#8217;s One UI 6 features a bunch of new visual changes. Expect to find a new default font style along with an overhaul to the Quick Panel as well. The changes let users find their most used feature more easily. One of the more welcomed changes is the inclusion of the brightness control bar by default in the new Android version. Samsung has even made changes to its quick settings panel as well, which can be accessed by swiping down from the upper right corner. <p><strong>[Update: August 11, 2023]: </strong>Samsung is finally pushing OneUI 6.0 Beta program for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. After retracting a couple of times in the past, the company <a href="https://news.samsung.com/global/samsungs-one-ui-6-beta-program-offers-galaxy-s23-series-users-a-sneak-peek-at-new-enhancements?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=direct" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">finally kicked</a> off the Beta program.</p>

<p>Samsung&#8217;s development of OneUI 6 seems to be in the final phases as the company is teasing it again and again. A couple of days after retracting its announcement on the Samsung Germany newsroom, the company today pulled the release from the Samsung US website. The reason is unidentified yet, but the company might be experiencing some technical glitch.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-557013" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/ONEUI-6.0.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h2><strong>OneUI 6.0 Features</strong></h2>

<p>As per the deleted press release, Samsung is launching the OneUI 6 for Galaxy S23 owners in the US, South Korea, and Germany. There are several new features including the goodies from Android 14, improved security and data protection services, and a new system share screen. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="756" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-1024x756.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-557010" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-1024x756.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-300x221.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-768x567.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-696x514.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-1068x788.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-569x420.jpg 569w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/samsung-oneui-6.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p></p>

<p>Samsung is primarily highlighting the simplified design, modern look, and redesigned quick settings panel. The pill-shaped redesign from Android 12 is finally settling on OneUI 6.0 with expanded Wifi and Bluetooth tiles. Unlike in OneUI 5.1, the company is streamlining customizable features in OneUI 6.0 which were earlier limited to additional apps like Good Lock. </p>

<p>Further, the new UI brings the ability to match lockscreens based on the current Mode or Routine. Other changes include Samsung Keyboard support for new emoji and a new customizable camera widget that allows the user to preselect settings and mode. </p>

<p>Samsung OneUI 6.0 seems delayed once again due to unknown reasons. It was scheduled to be made available for the Galaxy S23 users in the US, South Korea, and Germany. However, we can&#8217;t comment on its availability until we see a new announcement press release. </p>

<p>It will be the beta version, and the testers can enjoy it on their smartphones. We don&#8217;t recommend daily users to install OneUI 6.0 Beta, rather they should wait for the stable version which is expected in the coming few weeks. Once the testing is done for the Galaxy S23, the update will be pushed to other devices such as the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and other models. </p>

<p>According to Sammy Fans, several Samsung Galaxy devices will not receive the One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14.</p>

<p>These include:</p>

<ul><li>Galaxy S10 Lite</li><li>Galaxy S20 FE</li><li>Galaxy S20 / Galaxy S20+ / Galaxy S20 Ultra</li><li>Galaxy Note 10 Lite</li><li>Galaxy Note 20 / Galaxy Note 20 Ultra</li><li>Galaxy Z Flip (LTE/5G)</li><li>Galaxy Z Fold 2</li><li>Galaxy A22 (LTE/5G)</li><li>Galaxy A32 (LTE/5G)</li><li>Galaxy A51</li><li>Galaxy A71</li><li>Galaxy Tab A8</li><li>Galaxy Tab A7 Lite</li><li>Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020)</li><li>Galaxy Tab S7 / Galaxy Tab S7+</li></ul>

<p>These devices have already <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/08/31/samsung-galaxy-s21-android-13-one-ui-5-0-update/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">received</a> their third major update with Android 13-based One UI 5, as per the company&#8217;s software update policy.</p>

<p>However, the good news is that all Galaxy flagship devices launched after the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/14/samsung-galaxy-s21-and-galaxy-s21-announced-with-new-designs-new-chipsets-and-more/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">S21 series</a>, as well as select mid-range phones starting with Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73, are eligible for up to four generations of Android upgrades and five years of patches.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> had previously upgraded its firmware support policy from two years to three years and later promised to support some devices for four major Android OS upgrades. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/02/01/samsung-galaxy-s23-plus-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S23 series</a> is expected to be the first to upgrade to Android 14 and One UI 6.0, followed by the older S-series flagships and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Galaxy-Z-Fold-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Z Fold 5</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-z-flip-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy Z Flip 5</a> (predicted to be released in August).</p>

<p>While Samsung has not confirmed when the One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14 will be released, it is expected to be available for select Galaxy phones and tablets by the end of 2023, based on the pace of Android 13 updates. Samsung users who want to experience the upcoming Android 14-based One UI 6 software may want to consider upgrading to the Galaxy S23 or waiting for the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 devices.</p>
